Good Morning! This is a short post but one that I hope that will help you and also reaffirm to me that I am the not only one on this misplacing Island!
What am I talking about?
Do you ever lose a framelit?
(or should I say misplace one?)
Well….hopefully I am not the only one on this island but to me, it is soooooooo frustrating to be working with the big shot and you are really in a groove and then you go back to cut another shape out and say ~
Where did that framelit go?
We have so many framelits now that are very small pieces and even though I keep my framelits on a magnetic chip board to store them…I find that when I work I take them off….use them….get excited to see how it works ~ then turn around and say….where did it go?
Well…this is my solution and I will say…it works! A super simple Magnetic Bowl – and yep….Amazon to the rescue ~ here is your enabling link! (this was a tip that I learn from Jennifer McQuire’s Blog)
I keep it right beside my Big Shot and the minute I run it through, I plop them in this magnetic bowl! If you are a demonstrator this is also a great this to have during a class or a workshop.
This has been a frustration relief to me! It has saved me so much time in not having to do the “search and rescue” to find these precious framelits that we buy! It seems like Stampin’ Up has been coming out more and more with larger framelits offerings with many more smaller and intricate shapes so the last thing we need to have happen is playing “hide and seek” (especially with just ourself!) 🙂
This bowl will help you and you will think of me every time! Hope this little tip helps – you know me….I love to share little things that help!
Until tomorrow!

This is awesome! Everyone was given this as a gift at our stamping group class a few months back and I love it. My husband wanted one for his “nuts and bolts” so I got him one too. They sell them in hardware stores as well. Great tip, Susan!
What a GREAT and useful gift to give to all! It goes to show you that there are still affordable things out there that make us smile when we do gift swaps like that! Thanks for sharing, I am sure you will inspire others as a gift!
What a great tip!! I still cannot find a small framelit that I used 3-4 months ago. I have looked everywhere…I enlisted Dan and Caleb’s help and we even looked through the garbage but it’s as if it just disappeared. I didn’t leave a comment yesterday, but we giggled our heads off with your dog picture. I was out the door early yesterday and I will be again today for a conference, but hope to place my order tonight for my shares. Have a great day!!
You have “great guys” – total keepers! I knew that Caleb would get a kick out of that picture….
OMG, this is a great tip and a super new one for me. Thanks for sharing.
🙂
Just call me Susan the enabler!!!
Great tip! I didn’t know such a thing existed! Thank you!
Me either….when I 1st heard it I squealed with excitement!
Great tip as are all of your tips. Thanks so much.
I love sharing them as I think we all benefit – even if we have heard of them before, it is great to hear them again! Thanks for popping in!
So glad to know I am not the only one losing something while I am stamping! Thanks for the tip!
I think we all could have a huge yard sale with our orphan stamps and dies…..they must be with the odd socks!
Thanks, Susan….I ordered one. You are not alone. Wish there was something for little stamping pieces. The clear mount can easily get lost.
I wish I had seen the tip a few years ago when I didn’t know I didn’t get the little coal eyes to a snowman back on the sheet. Henry had found a little piece of clear plastic with 2 black dots on it in the summer time. I had no idea of what it was and pitched it in the trash. Come that next winter when I was making a snowman card I realized what that was! Oh well. Anyway, Donna Kish of Stamps Well With Others has a tip using an acrylic frame from the dollar store that she added washi tape to the bottom so you can see it. Placing the stamps on it as she uses them before putting them away. Trust me it works as I just used that idea last week.
hmmmmmmm…I am not following what you are describing….little dots fro a snowman? I like to use enamel accents for a quick 3 d look!
Coal eyes that were tiny for the snowman – enamel dots would have been way too big for this stamped image. You know Frosty had 2 eyes made out of coal. Then seeing the tiny piece (less than 1/2″) in the summer time it just did not connect to a stamp image especially found in the dining room area where at that time I didn’t have any stamp stuff.
Just call me Susan the enabler!!!!YEAH for you!
Another “Why didn’t I think of that?” moment! Thanks, Susan, for a very useful tip! I agree with Glenna – something for the tiny little photopolymer stamps. We are often losing those during my classes!
Sorry everyone, Donna’s post was from 9/13/16.
I am with you..as my wonderful Mom used to say, why didn’t we think of a simple thing like a paper clip….we would have made millions! Hang tight, next week I will touch on the stamps….this is something WE ALL HAVE ISSUES with….hopefully we can get some great chatting about it! We are getting closer to Atlanta – can’t wait!
I am getting this for MIke’s birthday! Actually he needs more than one. He drives me crazy dropping and losing screws, nuts, and lately his metal tuck points for the windows. I would like to say he has lost his marbles but he lost them before we were married I guess as I haven’t ever seen him with any! Anyway, the tuck points are the last straw as Teddy had one in his mouth yesterday and then the rest of the day he was sick throwing up. I don’t think he actually swallowed any but something sure made him sick! He seems fine so far today. Once again Susan a.k.a. Underdog has saved the day (or insert your favorite character’s name!).
Oh no – that Teddy….what are we going to do with him! I think you need to put a GPS on him…now to Mike – before you give him the bowl…make him guess what it is!!!!! Actually fill it with a bunch of screws and bolts and make him a funny card!!!!
The time I misplaced a framelit, it was on the underside of my magnetic board. A magnetic bowl is handy to have. Besides hardware stores, you can pick them up in at auto part stores for the nuts and bolts like Mary Ann said. My husband never used his, so I claimed it.
I have found them on the back as well….those sheets are super strong! I never thought of a auto store….PERFECT!
Great tip. There is a “lost” little, itty, bitty snowman framelit somewhere in the craft room……
Been there…I wish we all could bombard your house to help find him! I found a wee little one on top of a baseboard heating thing….I did the happy dance!
Oh my gosh. I so need a metal bowl. Do you think they keep brads and eyelets from taking a walk as well?
You betcha! You will love this little gem, why did we not think of that!
I guess I’ve been lucky in having never lost of framelit, but I have misplaced them for a several frustrating minutes. This is a great tip. Amazon to the rescue again! Like others have said about needing something to keep those tiny photopolymer stamp pieces from getting lost would be wonderful. While making Christmas cards last year, I didn’t get two small sentiments back in their case and now I’m working on this year’s cards, I really miss them. I’m thinking perhaps when I have my cards finished, I’ll make a thorough search as I’m putting my Christmas stash away and maybe, just maybe I’ll find them. I’m keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks, Susan. Great tip. Have a wonderful day.
TO me, misplacing is equally as frustrating! We all have sprouted some gray hairs over looking….hang tight – next Tuesday I will touch on Photopolymer….not THAT’S AN ISSUE that we all seem to have
This is such a helpful tip. I have never lost one but sure have spent a lot of time looking for one. Tomorrow I will go to my hubby’s shop and see If I can find one. I bought him one a long time ago and he never got into the habit of using it.
I can’t count how many times I have seen him looking for that nut, washer or bolt that got lost and have to go get another one.
You make me smile! I think that it is clear that we all have been there….it is just super easy to have right beside! I love it that many are doing a search and rescue in their hubbys area!
I LOVE that bowl. Bought mine about 6 months ago and don’t know what I ever did without it.
YEAH for you…isn’t it wonderful how a simple thing like this makes us so happy!!!!
Great idea! Right now I am missing 2 clear stamp sets 🙁 They are not SU, just between 2 acetate sheets. I saw them sitting out, put them somewhere….not sure where “somewhere” is ….
