O.k. – call me SILLY SUSAN!!!
Today is a PALS Blog Hop and truth be told – I totally forgot to sign up for it! I hope that you HOP on the PALS trail because the theme this month is Fun Folds and it is going to be FUN! Be a sponge and take it all in! I am always so amazed with all of the talent out there!
I want to remind you that I am having a Card Swap….click here to see the post that I did about it! I wanted to answer some questions that I have been emailed to help ease your mind and hopefully that you will join the fun by submitting a card.
To be honest, as to date the amount of cards I have received is low. I love showcasing your work and the date to have the cards to me is Friday, October 21st. I will be traveling at the end of the month and that is why I used that as a deadline so I can have them and take pictures before I leave.
- What is the Theme? – Thanksgiving or Christmas
- Does everything have to be Stampin’ Up! products? No, I realize that we all cannot have everything from one company, but it would be 🙂 if the “meat and potatoes” were Stampin Up!
- Do you showcase all card that are submitted on your blog? YEP, unless you tell me that you would rather not.
- If I am a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator can I submit a card? YOU BETCHA….I LOVE and welcome everyone and anyone!
- What will I get from participating in the swap? You will get a card from someone else….this IS THE FUN part, getting a surprise card in the mail!
I do hope that you will send a card in. It is fun. I think that you know me by now, I am all about showing, sharing and encouraging everyone at every level of stamping. What we do is handmade…not Hallmark.
I feel that “gifts made by our hands” are a precious and beautiful thing….we all love making cards so please….join the fun! Please hop on the Pals Blog Hop today…
In closing – WOW……I am soooo happy that we are having such a happy, healthy and informative discussion about yesterdays post about the cutting plates! I sat down to answer comments and WOW – soooo many, love it! I stopped about 3/4 through…..and will finish today – I just love the interactivity we have with each other – this is how we learn and grow!
Have a great day….make someone smile as you all make me smile! 🙂
Yes, I was waiting for this reminder, Thank You! I’d better get busy! It is very “crisp” here this morning, I might say chilly! Makes me feel like creating. I don’t have my Christmas supplies out yet, but I do have Thanksgiving here. Does anyone separate their supplies? I keep my Christmas supplies in the attic. Halloween is also separated, but that is only one box, which I can keep under my desk. I needed the space for the supplies I use on a more regular basis.
Happy Hump Day!
🙂
Susan, I will get right on that swap!!! Well, after I go look at the blog hop!
I finished my swap card yesterday. I had better mail it before I add or change one more thing and muck it up. The first 2 tries were the Thanksgiving type and they just did not work so I went to Christmas which I left the inside blank as I couldn’t decide on which sentiment to use thereby wasting more precious time. So, I will try to get it in the mail today though we are actually chilly and drizzly today.
I gotta have a story too. Yesterday I went to my CTMH demo’s house for card class. Everyone else signed up for the evening class. Anyway, she decided to work on her Christmas cards while I worked away. She was making 100 cards all alike. They were cards with a manager scene. She stamped the 3 main pieces and colored them as on an oval piece she had used her Cricket to cut out.. She had already stamped the background and attached the rhinestones to the stars on white cardstock. That was when she realized she goofed. The background was to be on a dark blue for the night time with the star and then she had the Mary etc on a peachy colored oval so she didn’t have to fuss coloring the faces even though the area around Mary etc was peachy. She ended up scraping the whole thing I think as she wanted the dark blue for background. If she would have colored Mary etc on white she could have just went with that but the peachy looked so dumb on there. So, since I was watercoloring one card she thought she would try that for the background. Well, it wasn’t watercolor paper and it made such a mess since it was a big area to be covered! She was not about to fussy cut all the characters and the stable and all that either. Goes to show demos have there bad days too. At least she was laughing about it since there is still lots of time yet to make more. Like she said, maybe it was a good thing she was retiring from CTMH next month – she was going to need the extra time to recreate all her cards!
I didn’t remind her that I was missing some of the stuff in my packet that she had to quick cut. She had 6 coming that night and I kinda looked at the packets to make sure all the stuff was in there as she was changing her great grandson’s training pants. I had a great laugh with her. To think I was mad at myself for scraping 2 cards!
Love the swap! I mailed my card today. Thanks for the reminder. Nancy, I also separate my seasonal stamp sets keeping Christmas together, Halloween/Autumn together, etc. I also have all my sentiment sets grouped together but I use them all the time. Enjoy the day, ladies!
I made a card for your swap but I don’t like it. I showed it to hubby for input. He says it doesn’t look like my style and that’s probably why I don’t like it. I plan to try again before the mailing deadline but if I don’t get to one you’ll get the card that doesn’t look like me. I doubt anyone in the swap knows my style anyway! Maybe Pleasantly Pleasing Pines aren’t my thing this year. I borrowed a Merry Mice. I feel like coloring. This might do the trick.
Oh, I totally forgot about this! Thank you for the reminder. I’ll get my card in the mail right away!
My card is ready to mail but I need your address to mail it to. I tried to send you an e-mail this evening but the e-mail said it did not go through.
