It’s back….our weekend posts that you all seem to love and enjoy! To me, this framelit is the most unique framelit that Stampin’ Up! has ever made and I admit, it was NOT on my “A List” when the catalog first came out…but once I saw the potential and sheer FUN of it, I hit that “buy me button” and I am super happy that I did!
This is about as easy as it comes and I do hope that you will pop back tomorrow to see what I did to step it up! I think that you are going to like it!
You cannot go wrong with the classics, Real Red and White are as good as it gets! This card hits that “inner Santa” within up and a smile comes instantly!
I admit, I did NOT purchase this as a bundle and I keep 2nd guessing myself but I have not “caved in” as I thought that all I needed and would use were the framelits. Below you will see in the products that I used, I share with you both ways, the bundle and then just the framelits.
Here is a tip…after you cut dear old Santa out…flip it over and use the green glue and just “dot it” on and you will be good to go. Let it “set up” a bit so when you flip it over you will be able to have a clean and clear hold.
The sentiment is from the Oh, What Fun Photopolymer Set that is in the annual catalog, it is filed with great clean, fun and classic sentiments that will be a help to many Holiday projects!
I know that it is super hard to see…but I HEAT EMBOSSED the red. HOW???? After stamping it in the real red… (I used the stamp-a-ma-jig) I stamped it with versa mark and then sprinkled clear embossing folder and heat set it. Tomorrow I will share with you how you do not need to do this “double stamp” method, especially since it is a photopolymer set.
Let’s quickly chat about the envelope – I ADORE the DSP Stacks and this Real Rad is from the Brights Collection. I think that the patterns are “spot on” and also it is always a great “go to” when you need a quick accent and do not feel like searching for the perfect DSP.
I had a FABULOUS day yesterday and we hit a weekly low of just over 2 hours for lunch with Aunt Jean and my Dad – we went to this fun local dimer and had some good old fashion southern cookin’….collard greens and all! It was a great day and it was wonderful to see Hannah ride….she rocked it as it has been months since she has shown.
Today will be another fun day…lots of riding and I am scouting out super cute dogs to show you all on Monday! There are some cuties and today the BUS is coming….WHAT BUS???? The rescue that my dear and perfect Milo came from will be having a bus of dogs coming to Raleigh.
I highly encourage you to click here and see the wonderful work that these 2 amazing men have done and continue to do – placing over 9,000 dogs….AMAZING!!! When I saw Ron, he immediately said to me, Susan, how is Milo doing….I bet that it has been at lease 6 months since I have seen him and to me, it is wonderful that he has such a personal touch of loving and caring for his dogs.
I admit, there are (2) dogs that I have my eye on from the website….you know me, if my heart pitter-patters….I might have a friend riding home with me tomorrow! 😀 As my card says Oh, What fun!
Have a great day and I hope that you will pop back for tomorrows Step it up Sunday!
Oops…… There is not a link for the dog rescue site…… Can you please share that? The card is awesome and I am making this very card today and cannot wait – WOOT WOOT
Now isn’t he a festive gent! This is an amazing cut-out with such beautiful detail. Red and white is classic and clean for the holiday. Beautiful card and can’t wait to see how you will step it up. Sounds like there may be another addition to the family….hard to resist those faces when they look at you with their “can I go home with you” eyes! Have fun and enjoy the day!
This Santa is at the top of my B list. I’m trying so hard to resist. (My A list was extensive!). I DONT HAVE ROOM FOR EVERYTHING I WANT! Oh, what the heck, there’s always room for 1 more, right? I’m sure I’ll cave.
Please give us the name of the rescue website. Thanks Susan for all you do – love your blog!
What a GREAT card! I thought I didn’t need that that Santa, but…..
This is a framelit that caught my eye when I first went through the holiday catalog. Can’t wait to see him stepped up on Sunday.
I, too, was not a fan of this diecut Santa when it first came out. Now that I’m seeing how easy it is to make pretty cards, it seems to be calling my name. We’ll see. Love this card and I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s stepped up version. You always amaze me. Enjoy your day.
That die didn’t speak to me much either when it first came out but I’m seeing such simple and classy cards made out of it. You can’t go wrong with the classic red and white. I love your card paired with the decorated envelope!
We’ll stay tuned to see if you come home with a new friend!
Oh, what great dogs! Nelson peaked my interest right off the bat and he isn’t one that I normally would go for. But, it says pending adoption – Susan??? I also think Goofy would be a great goofus to love. Buster Brown, hey my feet are tiny and I wore a pair of white Buster Brown sandals at my wedding! Kismet? I also think Taffy or CLyde might be right for you. But, then again any of the lab mixes get my vote.
Back to the card. I did not care for this die either and the best card I saw they had him with pink cheeks and such. To me the glasses make it sort of creepy looking. But, this card is acceptable with the classic colors and how you matted it etc. I do like his beard. The envelope is so cute!
Did you see Connie Stewart’s tip about the green glue, silicon mat, and sponge for intricate die? Trust me that little pool of glue and sponge worked really well on a couple little intricate pieces I was working with. No messy glue or trying to get it on the cardstock. Check it out everyone such a simple idea that works!
Hi Susan! As I was reading today’s post, as you mentioned the “bus” and the dogs, I thought “oh, I wonder if Susan will be coming home with a new dog” and then kept reading and smiled 🙂 Have a great day!
I received the swap card in the mail today! I received Lisa’s fun card with the faux stitching on it to separate the reindeer from the tag and the Christmas sentiment. Oh so fun and he even has a shiny nose! Lisa did something I did not do and maybe it would be a good idea – to list on a piece of paper of what stamps and papers etc. were used and I think it had the measurements on there. I sure smiled when I opened it up. Thank you Lisa Poe for the cute card and Susan for organizing the swap for us. It was so much fun seeing all the cards and I am looking forward to CASEing away!
Great card Susan. ?
Love the card and I might just break down and get that die. Like the others’ comments, it just didn’t speak to me until I saw it on the real red cardstock. You mentioned Milo in your post – I bet that little fella is missing you a lot!
Super, super cute!! I have resisted the the Santa die/stamp bundle but after seeing your card today I just might have to cave and at least buy the die. I have the stamp set you used today and I think it pairs well with the die. You are such an enabler!! Good thing I have worked a bit lately to be able to afford my habit. 🙂
