Good Morning! Do you ever stop and think of all of the crazy things that can happen in one day? Well, yesterday was one of those kinda days and I was so excited to go to bed and have a new day begin!
I cannot even begin to tell you all of the things that happened….but here are some lights that all happened before 10 a.m.
- The donkey got loose and was running all around and Arnold was having a fit because that dumb donkey is his seeing eye buddy…..
- the Fed X Truck FLEW down our lane and I was flapping my hands for him to slow down….and then he said to me…..“Do you know your donkey is loose”? I felt like saying REALLY…. 😳
- Next….about 30 minutes later the UPS Truck came and one of the Jack Russells hopped in his truck after he shut the back door of the truck and then yep……about 10 minutes after he left….down comes the truck and out the door came Jack! What could I do but LAUGH!!!!
(At the end of the post…I will share with you the TRUMP CARD of the day and you will then see….why I was excited to go to bed last night!)
Let’s get to this super cute box that can be made in a JIF! It is cute and I just love the little heart card I added as a note 🙂
I came in the house and decided to try to be productive and made this adorable and oh so easy White Gift Box! I love the ease of it and I cut (4) 2 3/4″ squares from the great Valentines Paper, Sending Love DSP Pack. I will say that there are other prints in this pack that go beyond Valentines.
I took a piece of scrap Real Red and folded it over to make a heart card. Using the framelit (as shown) – I left a little bit of the framlit above the red so it could asked as a hinge. Have you ever tried this? It is fun and then I used a smaller heart in white for the inside!
Can you see the sentiment? It is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set….(LOVE THAT SET) – it is truly an old one but a GREAT one. I stamped it in Versamark and heat embossed it with white! A simple white bow was the perfect finishing touch!
How about that Blog Hop yesterday? I hope that you all were inspired. I am always in awe of all of the great talent that is out there – I just love this FUN thing that we do! It makes my heart happy when John says….“My wife shares kindness and makes people smile” We all should be so proud of ourselves by sharing our handmade works of art!
Now for the TRUMP CARD….I was away for the afternoon and came home to a broken water heater….one word – YUCK!!!!!
See you tomorrow…..never a dull moment on Randall Lane! 🙂
The box is precious! Here is to a better day sweet friend — But you did make me laugh out loud at 5 am and believe me, that is not an easy thing to do!
Well you made me day that I made you laugh before 5 – it feels great to have a good laugh every once in a while…..come hang out with me and you will be in stitches!
After my day yesterday I’m ready to take a page from Alexander (Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day) and move to Australia!!! I love your Valentine box! I found my therapy by stamping all night! LOL
My passport is up to date!
Susan, I love, love this adorable box and card! Thanks for the reminder on cutting cards like that!
You are making me SO glad I replaced my old hot water heater last year!!!! You have my sympathies!!! Double YUCK! Hopefully you will have time to lecture the gang about straying from the Lane!
I love those little heart cards…I think that they are special! At least you are out of danger for it to break down….ours really was not that old but our well water os sooooo hard…..I feel like I walk around with spots on me!
Aww, I hate those days 🙁 But sorry, I had to chuckle a bit abt the dog jumping into the UPS truck. Guessing he jumped into the side door since they always have them open.
Trust me, this is not the 1st time that this has happened. They are soooo smart, they know that they always get treats from him and usually he counts each one before he leaves…..but that little cute Jack – he snuck in and wanted a ride!
Love the gift box for Valentine’s. So pretty. Thanks for the reminder about making a hinged card. Sorry so many things happened on the same day. On the bright side, you got all of those out of the way for brighter days to come. I’m sure the UPS driver was surprised when he realized he had an extra passenger!! Too funny! Better luck today.
You’ve got that right…actually today has been a bit uneventful…..super warm which is crazy but the weekend is to get brrrrrrrr again! I love these boxes – they are actually really sturdy!
Days like that just make you go Really….Really….oh REALLY!!! I’m super impresses that Jack was wanting to go for a ride with the UPS man. Our daisy hates those bog o brown trucks…she barks like some vicious animal….sounds like your ups man got a little treat to spend a little fun time with Jack! Buy the way, i love your coffee picture at the top! Perfect for unexpected full moon crazyness…
I thought the moon was beautiful last night but I guess tonight it will be spectacular! I love to see a bright moon when we go down to check the horses at night – it is sooooo peaceful. Sometimes I do not think we take enough time to stop and just look at the natural wonders we have…..glad you liked the coffee quote….soooo true!
OMG, Susan! You DO have a lot that goes on…sometimes you just break out in hysterical laughter in hindsight!! Love the coffee pic, and your creations with this set are drop-dead gorgeous! Just may have to CASE some of these!
Please…PLEASE CASE away…..that what I want you all to do as YOU CAN DO IT!!!!
That was yesterday but today is the full moon, so who knows what craziness that will bring. I laughed at Jack taking a ride with the UPS guy. I’m sure he thought, “Mom is always happy when this guy comes so he must be a good guy I’ll take a ride with him!” Can you imagine if Daisy had decided to ride with the UPS guy??!!
The box is awesome. I told my friends I was going to have to divorce them because they wanted to make some treat boxes and the like which never appeals to me, but at least I know where to go for lots of inspiration.
Well first of all…..our dear Daisy would need a “lift” to get her in the truck…I do not think her belly would make clearance!!!! If she is around when the UPS guy comes, he gets out and visits her as well and gives her a treat!
Now THESE BOXES – ANYONE can do…..even if you do not like 3 -d’s!!!!! They are soooo easy with a great fun factor!
So cute and love the card ! Your day sounds like a scene from one of my favorite movies Funny Farm with Chevy Chase . Bless your heart regarding that old water heater ….at least it didn`t blow up like some have been known to do !! And lastly ….glad Jack was returned and not held for RANSOM !!!
You are going to laugh but I have not seen Funny Farm but it sounds like I should – Chevy Chase is sooooo funny. Every year we watch Chevy Chases Christmas Vacation and all laugh until tears are rolling down our face!
Jack is a sweet heart, he would go with anyone…..just anyone!!!!
Hope today’s a better day (though Jack’s ride was funny!). Love the little box. TFS
Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment, trust me…this is not the 1st time that Mr. Jack took a ride! The next thing I know my dogs will be smart enough to get an Uber to drive them around….(our little area has 2 Uber drivers – WOOT-WOOT, we are coming up in the world!
First, I love your heart day box and how clever it was to do the heart card. Now on to your day….puppy Russell wanted to go for a spin and see the world! And for your water heater issue….yuck is right, you poor thing! Hopefully the rest of the day was a little less eventful! Warm hugs to you!
I am not a huge “go over board” with Valentines…that day comes sooooooo fast and POOF it is gone! I thought that this is a great way to get the job done yet still be fun!
Did the water heater leak water all over? That happened to us in Houston. It went all over the dining area, kitchen and living room. Anyway, no hot water is bad enough.
Very cute little treat box. I think I would be eating all the treats if I were you! I haven’t made the hinged heart card for quite a while. Thanks for the reminder. I did have to smile at the stow away! T least you didn’t have to pay for a “cab” ride for him! That would be Ted if he could figure out how to get in the truck and if he liked to ride. His little legs couldn’t stretch that far probably. Hope today is better!
Fortunately there are several drains in the basement floor and we caught it before it went into the finished area of the house…..lots of empty boxes that I hoard were trashed but then again, that might have been a blessing…..read the above comment when I said about an Uber driver…..Teddy and Jack would do that!
Ted is such a ditz at getting into the car – we need to work on that. You are lucky they didn’t dial for a ride when they were in your car and locked the doors. Like maybe they couldn’t reach the pedals to actually drive it so they called for a back up ride? I was thinking full moon and Friday the 13th… At least I have a story to tell the UPS driver next time we are chasing Ted!
