Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for January 2017. We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our 2017 Blog Hop monthly themes. This month our projects showcase themes that are “from the heart.” This includes any of the following themes… Valentine’s Day, Thinking of You, Get Well and/or Sympathy. We hope to provide you with lots of ideas and that you enjoy our creations.
You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below. The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.
YIPPEE~ SKIPPEE I am super happy for the 1st Blog Hop if the year for the PALS! This is always a fun day and you can be a leap frog and hop from one amazing blog to another! WOW ~ there is a ton of talent out there and be a sponge and soak it all up!
I was trying to think of a card that would be perfect blank (without a sentiment on the front) so when you need a card for all of the above themes…Valentine’s Day, Thinking of You, Get Well and/or Sympathy you have one ready to rumble and you can stamp the sentiment of your choice in the inside!
You just can’t go wrong with the classic and there is nothing more classic than a “heart” Below you can see that this is one special heart as the amount of detail is spectacular.
Having a card that is blank is super handy to have and I am a big believer that when you make one card….why not make many??? – just POUND THEM OUT and then you will always be prepared!
Here is a tip for you….I just love to share tips! I realize that this is a very detailed thinlit – that’s why it is so darn special but some might be looking at this and thinking “what a pain in the drain this must be to adhere” Well….NO – I feel like you have (2) choices.
- Use a product called Stick It – click here as this is a super thin adhesive that you place your card stock over and then run it through the Big Shot like normal…….and then there is a release paper that is super easy to remove and POOF!!!!! You detailed die is ready for you to adhere.
- The other option is to use good old fashion Green Glue, if you follow my blog…one of my motto’s is….GREEN GLUE to the rescue! 🙂
The pictures above and below will give you an insight of how I added just an extra step to make the finished card look super special (as heck, aren’t all cards that we send out special?”)
Those little (2) flowers that are in this set are a breeze to cut out ~ you are good to go with green glue or a mini glue dot
Sorry for the “wonky color” of these 2 pictures but I think that you can see how I scored the top and bottom of the card. I thought it needed a little something and this is a trick that I do often and it is very stunning when you hold the card in your hand. I do prefer the Simply Scored Board as I feel I can get a deeper score!
Now we are back to the good color (heck – I thought my eyes were bad) I love pictures like this below when you can see the side angle of the project. This is so classic and crisp in the Whisper White and I always love the additional layers of flowers…..it is the little oomph that take it to that “special level”
If you follow my blog you know that I adore my envelopes! I can honestly say that there is not one card that leaves Randall Lane without some sort of love. Today I carried the theme of the card by scoring a piece of Rose Red card stock that was 3/4″ wide and then below it added the Rose Red Flower Pattern from the Regals DSP Stack! The icing on the cake!
Well…what do you think? I think that it is one classic card that could easily “fit the bill” for each of these themes that we are HOPPING about today! Now you need to GET GOING and click on the next Blog listed below! Have fun and enjoy your day!

So elegant, Susan! I love the effect of the score lines on the top and bottom! And you carried it through to the envelope… so cool!!
Katy…you are one of the sweetest!!!! Thank you for popping in and I hope that you try score lines…it is a super quick was to add fun and interest! Enjoy the day….
Love the score lines, and love the little pop of red you layers between the flowers! And I always love a coordinating envelope such as yours…great job, Susan!
Thanks – the little flowers are soooo easy to pop out and adding that little peek is the secret weapon to this simple card. You could probably use a marker but I think that you might get “blobs” of ink saturating into the cardstock.
This is an extra step but one that is worth it!
Beautiful, as always, Susan!
AWE…you made me smile! Thanks for the sweet comment…
Simple Sweet Elegance…just like you! LOVE it! I really like how those score lines add that extra touch of dimension!
This is your kind of card! I was thinking, wouldn’t this be great as an easel card. The detail in the heart s over the top!
What can I say, Jeanie said it all! Way to go and first on the hop line up!
Chris…you are too funny! Hey….by the way – I ordered that PIG stamp…I cannot wait to get it and when I do – I am going to share it with everyone!
Beautiful card, Susan. I love the little touches… the score lines and the layered flowers. Perfection!
Thanks for the comment, what I really like about this card is that you could use it for many different occasions – a beautiful heart can be for many card needs that we make!
A beautiful card made by a beautiful lady! I love how you give the options of how to stick on the heart ?
Thanks Jennifer, if you do not have Stick It – you need to go to Amazon and CLICK IT!!! You will love it and it is a great alternative if you just do not want to be patient with the “Green Glue”
Love your card and also the tip to punch holes in the flowers so the Red Rose shows through!
Hello my friend! Thanks for popping in! We all love our little tips that make us shine! Have a great day.
Gorgeous card and the score lines look great on both the card and envelope! The little “umph” with the flowers are the perefect touch. Way to go #1 blog hopper!
I love the extra layers of the flowers….I get it that it takes more time but the time is well worth it!
Clean and simple perfection Susan!
Oh Rae, you are the best! You know me….clean and simple is my thing. It is soooo funny that when I try to do a fussy card how it just turns out “not looking the best” (I am saying that nicely) Hugs across the county.
I absolutely LOVE the added pop of color i the center of the flowers, awesome idea!
Thanks Lisa…it makes a rather plain card have a little fun.
I love the score lines – both on the card and on the envelope! Clever and classy!!
Score lines to the rescue! It works magic each and every time. Because the card was rather plain, I thought that the scores on the envelope flap would pull it together! Thanks for popping in!
Pretty ! So wouldn`t this card bring a giant smile on the face of the recipient ? It`s all in the details and you always make your cards so special !
I agree…little details make a big difference (It’s just remembering some of the tricks when you are working on a project) – Is North Carolina a bit better! Snow and you all don’t mix well!
I love the tip about the colored spots behind the flowers to have the color poke through! Very nice!
Thanks Karen…I do love this die and I think that it is not used as much as it was last year when it came out…..it is truly an elegant die! Have a great day…..
Simply beautiful! And I didn’t know that tip about the die!
So the problem I encounter when I make multiples of the same card is say I make 5 and mail 2 right away, later I find the other 3 and then I’m afraid to send them out because I can’t remember who I sent the first 2 to! I don’t want to send duplicate cards. People might think I’m senile! And I do enough to encourage that thought already….
Anyway, I love this card and this die. I admired it when it first came out but never got around to buying it. I don’t know why not because quick and easy and elegant to boot, what’s not to love.
Simply beautiful and I love those layered flowers!
