I admit, I have always want to go in a Hot Air Balloon…..has anyone ever done this? If so, please leave a comment and let us know if you liked it and if you would recommend it!
I have not had the opportunity to blog about this beauty, the Lift Me Up Bundle and I am glad that I can today! I admit, I never took the time to see how easy it is to add the color behind….so when in doubt about a product – go to the stampin’ Up You Tube Channel and check it out!
The details in this whole bundle are very impressive. Until I watched the video I did not realize that the one framelit was a mini cupcake and how great it pairs up with the Cupcakes & Carousels DSP Stack.
You have to admit…it is a classic and oh so detailed bundle! You know me, I love bundles because I love to save the money…(you get an instant 10% off instantly and then I will get another 25% discount for doing the fun that I do)…..I am tellin’ you….you should think about becoming a hobby demonstrator – so easy!
With the great incentive of also get YOUR CHOICE of any 2 stamps sets in any of the catalogs, it truly is a no brainer! If you want to get the kit (your choice of whatever you want) and then be done – YOU CAN DO THAT….and there are no worries of penalties or any obligations.
Email me and I will be happy to help answer any questions you might have.
Now let’s get to the parade of pictures I have for you and then tomorrow you will need to stop back to see how I stepped it up and then you can see which one suits your fancy!
Do you remember on Wednesday I shared with you that my incentive gift this month is the Whisper White Craft Ink? Today I used the white ink to create my backdrop on the Marina Mist. Isn’t it fun!
This stamp set, Playful Background is one that I think you all might have breezed right by in the catalog! I remember that someone said in a comment last week that Polka Dots made them smile – well…this does the same thing for me! This is a fun and oh so easy background to create in a flash.
Tomorrow I will have for you the dimensions for this project but I really wanted to keep the balloon very classic in its colors. The base color is Marina Mist and I chose that because that is one color that I rarely use and I wanted to challenge myself to step of it my “color box” that I become so comfy with.
The colors in the balloon are Night of Navy and Soft Sky and the balloon itself id Sahara Sand. (I know sometimes it is hard to tell what colors they are in the photos) 😯
Well….thoughts….you can see that it is a good old Simple Susan card for your Simple Saturday. Paper does amazing things for us and layers also do amazing things.
I think that you can easily see the endless color combinations you could do with this layout and also this sentiment is super-de-duper because it can cover many things……I am sending this to my Uncle that is 88 and in the hospital to cheer him up!
I hope that you have a fantastic day and if you live on the East Coast you know that the weather has been CRAZY….Yesterday I saw some daffodils trying to bloom and then last night it was to get around 20….no wonder so many people have colds!
I am having a GREAT GIRLS DAY today….I am meeting some downline for lunch and then to the local ribbon factory……little do they know that I am taking today’s card with me and they are going to give me some inspiration on how they see it stepped up for tomorrow…(don’t worry, I already have plan B in case we get yacking and I forget to bring it up)
Jammie shop is so easy and trust me, it is on trend. The other day I forced myself to go to Walmart (a place that really stresses me out because it is sooooo busy and huge) but I saw people actually shopping in their jammies. Heck – if they can do it in public….just think of how stylish we are shopping with our computers in our laps in the comforts of our homes! 😀
Your card is much nicer than my experience in a hot air balloon! We were in Egypt in August – already a recipe for disaster because boy was it hot – and took a hot air balloon over the Valley of the Kings. We woke up at 4 am for this adventure because you want to do this at dawn – haha! The balloons were beautiful as they were filling with air and the view was stunning, but our balloon was missing the protection between us and the HOT air that keeps the balloon in the air. I have never been so hot in my life!
Hi Cathi….I will say, I was getting HOT reading your comment! I can’t even imagine the heat you must have felt and I am sure that each and every time you see a hot air balloon – this memory is front and center!
This was the 1st bundle I marked for purchase from the Occasions Catalog–& I’ve used it alot since I got it. The one thing I haven’t done is piece the colors behind the large intricate design. That’s my goal for this weekend. Thanks for the inspirational shove!
Oh my gosh……DO IT – it is sooooooo easy. I could kick myself that it has taken me this long to figure out how easy and fun this bundle it! Up , Up & AWAY my friend….make it colorful!
O Susan, I love this card. It is so pretty.I love how you made the back ground. I thought it was designer paper. I love the dark and light colors behind the balloon . I can not wait to see how you step this beautiful card up tomorrow. Have fun with your girl friends Stay warm. Hugs, Ellen Hinds
Hi Ellen…that is just what Jeanie said – where did that DSP come from? The white against that yummy marina mist really makes a POP….I hope you like the stepped up version, I am sure you will giggle!
A very “uplifting” card! Love the colors and background. I have never been in a hot air ballon but I am sure it is thrilling. I skipped over the playful background stamp set and need to take another look. Enjoy the day. ☁️
You are “UPLIFTING” – how is that knee…are you training for the marathon so Chris R and I can be your water girls! We will be the BEST cheerleaders you could have!
Diggin’ the blues!
I think that it is fun to use the same colors and show off the variety of shades we have….
This will definitely lift your Uncle’s spirits!!!!! I totally missed the background stamp set, but it’s on my wishlist now!!! Have fun today with your downlines……looking forward to tomorrow’s step up card!!!
I agree…Uncle George will love this – I am sure that it will “lift” his spirits! Thanks for popping in!
My husband and I were treated to a hot air balloon ride from our youngest son and daughter-in-law and we LOVED it! It was in CO and the weather was perfect, the whole experience was great. It was something I had always wanted to do, so this was especially great for me. I’d recommend it, but I guess it isn’t such a great experience for everyone. You make such lovely cards, love to read your blog daily.
Hi Polly and many thanks for leaving a comment. I do enjoy reading everyone’s comments as I can just visualize what a pretty experience you had. (I am not as hot as I was from reading Cathi’s comment) and now I am visualizing sheer beauty of the mountains! Guess I should have this on my bucket list!
Great card for your uncle. I had my eye on this bundle as soon as I saw the catty. I’m keeping it on my wish list. A hot air balloon ride is on my bucket list, but I’ve never been in the right place at the right time. I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s card to see the changes you make.
Well I caved the minute I saw it but it has taken me a while to use it but have no fear – it will get a great workout! I think that one thing that I really like about it is the fact that you can use so many different sentiments. It is great for the young, the old, feminine and masculine cards…the details are amazing!
Received my class package yesterday and it is phenomenal!! The packaging is perfect and the whole kit is beautiful. Plus I have real Susan Itell cards now❤❤❤A great value!
YEAH!!!!!! I am sooooooo happy that you received it and that you are happy! This made my day….I hope that you enjoy putting it together and that you will try future Classes to GO!
This bundle is on my wish list. Love how you made your own background. I never did a balloon ride, but did take a glider plane ride over the north shore of Oahu. Being in the air with only the sound of the wind is really a fun experience. Oahu is really pretty too. A balloon ride is still on my bucket list though.
Wow…a glider plane…that must have been super cool! Ok – I admit, (remember I live in Williamsport) – where is Oahu? Trust me, I will google it…but it already sounds beautiful and peaceful!
Yes, I have been on a balloon ride!! When we lived in CO in the San Luis Valley area, we had a balloon rally in Alamosa. We happened to see in the paper that they were asking for help with the rally. We attended the meeting & volunteered to be on a “chase crew” for a balloonist. We were treated to 4 different adventures of going up with our navigator. WHAT AN EXPERIENCE!! I thought maybe I would not like it…..but, I loved it!! The only sensation of going up or down was the fact that objects got larger or smaller. Sound traveled…….you could hear voices from the ground clear as a bell. We only had 1 sort of rough landing……a little gust of wind grabbed our balloon as we were landing & dragged the balloon basket a little but no one was hurt & all was fine. This rally was held in Nov…..balloons travel better in the cool weather. I highly recommend it to anyone that gets the opportunity…..my husband & I would do it again in a heartbeat……plus the price was right!! Rides in exchange for a couple days of chasing a balloon!! Plus, when they did the evening “glow”……all the balloonists put on their burners & the balloons glow in the dark….they do not go up…..they are tethered on the ground…..but so beautiful!! Wonderful experience.
This sounds like sooo much fun! I want to be a Balloon Chaser – that sounds like in itself a fun adventure! CO is such a beautiful state…your landing seemed a bit rocky but I am one that loves a great adventure (that’s why I want a FOOD TRUCK)
Love your card! I have the bundle; haven’t used it yet. Yes, I’ve been on a balloon ride and absolutely loved it. So quiet and peaceful up there. My friend was being tested for his license and I got to ride along. Had champagne after, a tradition, I believe. We were up over northern San Diego County. Live in MN now where it is probably too windy.
Yep…I agree – I would think that the winds in MN would be against you but the great thing is….you can treat yourself to go somewhere that you can do it! I am lovin’ the image of the “cheers” with the champagne!
I had a lot of fun both times I took a hot air balloon ride – both times in Arizona. Gives one a whole new perspective of the beauty of the desert to see it from above. Would love to take one here in New England sometime – foliage season would be spectacular!
Now that would be a view, the amazing colors of the leaves in the New England States – I’m in!
Well, considering I live close to the Napa Valley…balloons are a given! Quite the experience Also if you can ever make it to he Balloon Festival in NM and also one in Reno NV Awe inspiring.yes, you do need to get up very early to see them fill the balloons for flight but a memory you will cherish forever! Beautiful! So, you know I did order this bundle right away!
You make me laugh and thanks for the order….I did see that notification! I know that when we were in Napa we did see lots of balloons….we should have looked into it . I was focused on the vineyards while John attended meetings but I will say after his meeting we stayed for a couple of extra days and we did a “Sip and Cycle” for a day and it was a blast….but John got a flat tire – PRICELESS!
How good of you to send your uncle such a beautiful card. He’s going to love it. Balloon ride this past fall in Utah was the most thrilling experience of my life. So calm, peaceful and beautiful. I loved it. Can’t wait to go again.
Everything in Utah seems to be peaceful! When I went to Stampin’ Up! that was the only time I had been to Utah and it was just spectacular….I hope to go back and have John with me!
Cute card. I was wondering why the big influence with hot air balloons with other companies too – sort of the trend with the foxes I guess. I thought, that is one set or bundle I don’t need. Well, we made a card in card club the other night and mine turned out pretty darn cute. I am sending it to someone who needs a little lift. I was looking at the set and finally noticed the sentiments and boy, I really thought they need to be at my house. I can always use my local demos bundle she said. We will see, I may get the stamp set at least. I think it should cheer up your uncle as it made me smile. I was a bit confused with bubbles instead of clouds. But, I am tired and a bit crabby today.
As far as stepping it up, well I have seen some that were so blinged up I needed sunglasses to look at the card! So, I don’t think you will go hog wild on that (sorry Daisy). But, maybe a patch of color would be nice since hot air balloons are generally pretty colorful. Otherwise, I don’t know how you will change it up. I guess I will just have to wait and see.
I have never been in a hot air balloon but have seen tons of them. There is a hot air balloon festival held annually about 30 miles from here. It is fun. Before we were married Mike lived in that town while he tried a college there. He called me one Saturday all excited as one balloon about ran into his mobile home. The launch place was really close by. I could hear them while we were on the phone. I always thought I would like to ride in one but I think I am a little afraid of heights now – or at least some heights bother me and I hate glass elevators. I think all that fence sitting on the weekends trying to decide what card I prefer didn’t help with the heights thing either! I have not even flown for over 18 years now that I think about it, but I think I just didn’t have a place to really go or the money for the flight more than anything. I have flown many a time in my lifetime though.
Again, you did it…made me laugh! I LOVED the comment of the sunglasses…you are SOOOOO right, I have seen some ideas that have sooooo much stuff on them! You know me, simple! It is a fun bundle!
I love the back ground for your balloon . Marina Mist is one color I have sadly neglected . I have the set that you used for those white circles BUT have not used it so you have sparked a card making project for me . Love that blue !
Can`t imagine what you will come up with for a step up !!
I have never done the big balloon adventure . Planes are as daring as I get !!
I bet I have not used Marina Mist in a year (isn’t that terrible) – when I went to make the card I looked at my paper and said – use a color that you rarely use….and it worked!
Marina missed was the first color ink pad I bought. I do not have this stamp set. I have never been in a hot air balloon either. I do love the colors of the card. I love the sentiments also. Maybe I will reconsider. Just looked at the card again . . . I really cannot imagine how you would step up. Looking very forward to the big reveal .
?
Isn’t it funny how we all gravitate to different 1st’s – My first Ink Pad was Melon Mambo…and then probably Daffodil Delight. I think that you will chickle…..oops chuckle when you see the stepped up! (you can tell I am late in my responses)
A day late commenting but had to say i do not like heights but i have done two hot air balloon rides–one over the Napa Valley and one over Phoenix and i loved both. The whole experience–helping hold the balloon while it’s filling, lifting off, floating above the beautiful landscape below, watching the chase vehicles, eating a champagne breakfast–it’s all so worth it! So, i have no idea why i dont have this set yet except I’m so far behind on everything i hate to get more things to sit there! Love this card so might have to rethink it!
I, too, am late catching up on my emails/blogs…I was having too much fun yesterday with Susan and the gals!! Of course, if I had read Susan’s blog before going out I would have known what “DSP” she used for the background instead of asking her. LOL I have actually been looking into a hot air balloon ride for our family for my son’s 30th birthday. My daughter thinks that because I hate to fly I wouldn’t like it. I hate to fly because of the air pressure on the plane (hurts my ears so bad!!!) and I don’t think the balloon will get up far enough to bother me. I appreciate reading everyone’s responses. Will have to give this some serious thought!!! Love your card Susan and thanks for a fun afternoon!!!
I love your background and did indeed wonder how I missed that DSP! Thanks for the 4-11 on how that was made and for adding to my wish list. I’ve not been up in hot air balloon. I suspect I’d have motion sickness…. after all I get queasy on escalators. My mom lives in NM and her dog has a special “hot air balloon” bark and has to be put inside during balloon festivals. One windy day the dog was doing her hot air balloon bark and mom didn’t believe it could be a balloon since it was so windy. It wasn’t–it was a tortoise. So now the bark includes hot air balloons and tortoises. Scary creatures–both of them!
