Happy TIP TUESDAY! Last week I was surfing around looking for something specific and look what I stumbled on.
On Amazon, they have a broader way for you to look and see options for specific interests ~ This is called Shop by Room, Craft Room. I admit, it was super fun to click away and just see what is out there!
By now you know that I love to share with you things that make life easier, make us smile, make us happy…. 😀
I invite you to have some “me time” and click away and see what tickles your fancy! I am a container junkie….with doing a SUPER QUICK breeze through...I saw this….and thought – this would be perfect for me when I am working on putting my kits together as I love things that stack as (stacking saves room and stacking makes things look tidy)
You could just have a “hay day” going through all of the different items that are things that “work for our needs” – here is one that I use….a BUNCH….but I will give you a “HEADS UP” that in the new catalog we are going to be coming out with a similar product and I cannot wait to try it to see if I like it as much!
I know that I am a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator but I also know that there are many other great resources out there and I don’t know about you…but I do not buy all of my clothes from the same store or do I buy my groceries from the same store …you get it!
Here is an item that we DO HAVE but we do not have it in FUN COLORS…and it is only about the color for me in this instance…WHY???? = EASY….I have GREAT INTENTIONS of keeping a set of plates for just embossing….and if they are clear…somehow – someway – they get “in the mix” so having a FUN color it makes me STOP and use them just for embossing!
Well…this post can be short…because you can have FUN! Please share with us in the comments something fun and interesting that you think we all can find unique and useful!
Have a great day….tomorrow is HUMP day and I have another “keeper” Birthday card for you….that is one thing that we all seem to always need and appreciate ideas for!
Here is a HEADS UP! – the retiring list is M E L T I N G ….so please do not overlook the goodies that are out there….and in closing….as PROMISED – I would let you know when the April Paper Pumpkin Refill was available…and WOOT-WOOT – it is! Click here to grab yours….but remember, you need to be a Paper Pumpkin subscriber to purchase them…
So….if you really want it – and it is GREAT….and true ~ you will not get the stamp set with this refill….but REALLY – how can you go wrong with being able to get 12 complete cards with FUN liners for just $9.00….and we all know that you have many sentiments that will work….so GO FOR IT!
How can you get it without being a subscriber????….EASY – hit that below button for a months subscription…and then after you do that – you can order this refill (I would get many) as I adore it and remember the examples that I showed you……CLICK HERE TO SEE!
See you tomorrow….. 😀
Oh, YES, a container junkie . . . also a “Box” junkie. I love boxes like the iPhone comes in . . . good for organizing drawers. I also adore UGGs boxes. Have you ever seen them? They are strong and with a great cover. (We have plenty of females in the family and I snatch the box from anyone!) I don’t have to mention the PP boxes. I fold them flat and they are ready to go. (Hint, when reusing them, make them inside out keeping the outside brown and great for addressing.)
Have a great Tuesday.
🙂
Great tips, Susan and you too Nancy! I have a similar container like the one you are showing but it is smaller and has three stacks. I use it for my spools of SU twine so I can see the colors and have easy access to embellish. Happy tip day.?
I love, Love, LOVE containers & boxes of any kind! In fact, I just parted with some–just some–of the cardboard packing boxes in my basement. I now allow myself to keep only a stack of a certain height that fits in its designated spot … for reasons that may be self-explanatory, when they outgrow that area, some have to go. Now I have to tackle the stack of smaller ones that’s on the shelf of the hall closet. About that two-box stack you used to illustrate this post: one day at Goodwill, I spotted one of those, only mine has green (my favorite color) lids. I’m sure I looked like that slow-mo scene of Bo Derek on the beach (minus the great bod) , from the movie, as I lunged toward it, arms outstretched. Just as I managed to get my hands on it, a woman came from my left, with the same goal. I smiled, I hope not too smugly, and sailed to the checkout with my $2 treasure, which corrals my SU CS quite nicely!
Susan, where did you purchase the colored plates for the Big Shot? I too am a “box” junkie, especially the ones already decorated. I have a lot of cigar boxes that a friend gave me that are still on my “to do” list; maybe some day soon. Have a great Tuesday.
Oooooh I do love containers! That box looks perfect for what you want to do with it. I have similar ones for miniature (dollhouse) projects. Now of course I had to go surfing and I saw the Clear Plastic Organizer with 10 Removable Drawers. I wonder if anyone has used these drawers? One of my very favorite items that Susan mentioned a while ago are the Darice Bead Storage Containers. Love them!!!
I just started filling my bead container! I got one with different sized stuff. I am being particular about what goes in there. I’ve already purged several embellishments I haven’t used and don’t see myself using.
I, too, am a collector of containers and boxes. It’s great to part of this community. I’m loving all these tips. Wal Mart has some Darice containers for small beads/sequins and some other sizes I use for my small cube ink pads. They ship. I do get things from places other than Amazon! lol! I’ll have to check out the organizer Ramsey mentioned when I have more time. Thanks, Susan and everyone, for all your tips. Have a great day!
Ditto re Ugg boxes or any boot box. These are grea for safely transporting party favors to the party.
Be still my heart! Thankfully Mike has not found that Amazon has a surf by theme – esp. the craft room. I know he means well but I just don’t want any ol’ size, shape, color when I have a specific idea in mind. He gets so excited thinking that he is helping me get organized. I have a couple of a certain brand that locks and now he thinks I need more – well only certain things fit in there but he just doesn’t get it. His ideal room would be a room full of plastic boxes with my stuff in them no matter if the stuff fits or not. When I was taking back some of the things he thought I needed more of at the Container Store, the sales girl laughed and said his face sure lite up when he stepped in the door as he started grabbing some shoe boxes that were on sale. When I asked him if he was going to use them, he sort of looked down at his feet and said, “No, I thought you could use them!” So, I put them back as they were not the right size. “But, they are on sale, sure you can’t use a few?” was his next remark. I asked if he could and that was the end of discussion! Then he started getting bigger tubs to hold my books. I asked him if he was going to get some for him as his books are really all over the house too. He decided it was time to go to the bathroom! I ended up returning some things he bought me but then he turned around and bought 3 kitchen ones that he said we needed. He has his cereal in one and the other 2 are in the Container Store bag. Honestly!!!!
I comment is not really useful but I hope someone will think it is fun. Oh, Susan I keep forgetting to tell you about that Minion lunchbox you got me. I put my silicon mat in there, bone folders, scissors, glue etc. and keep it downstairs. Mike keeps asking why I have it, what’s in it, what are those characters etc. I just laugh but at least I am using it as it is awesome to hold things I need to use all the time. Oh, that reminds me I need to wash his denim bib overalls!
I do have a question, on the Stamp & Storage site they have the magnetic die holders you (and everyone who is organized) bought. Do you have one size or both sizes? I think it said 5×7 & 6×7. I need a little guidance on this as I know I have some dies some place in this house that are not in with the rest and that plastic box still houses the original envelope packaging making it hard to tell what are in them. I also have EF mixed in with the dies which doesn’t help. Is it a wonder I forget to use my EF? Help please!
Now, I will leave you with a smile – imagine Mike seeing the Stamp and Storage site but not paying any attention to the prices! I think he would think that was heaven!
Great ! A 12 Step Program meeting for Containers , Office Supplies, Amazon , and Stampin Up Addicted people !!
I love to browse “Ammie” and somehow I have missed that site that you found !! I will go there shortly !!
My latest find on Amazon was an Acrylic Brayer . It is great for going over just glued mats and love it for folds instead of the Bone Folder !!
I have the colored acrylic plates and you are right about using them for specific uses . I need to get another set when I go browsing on Amazon this afternoon. I have used them for the top plate in cutting out framelits . Thanks for the tip on using them for Embossing Folders !!
Would you believe that some people thought I was a little “Peculiar” in my obsession with the time of year that the School Supplies came out at the stores …..but after becoming a “card maker crazy person” I found my place with
other “Peculiar People” THANK HEAVENS !!
I will be back later to read the additional comments (FUN !) Love TIPS TUESDAY !!
With no kids I would get odd looks looking at school supplies and happily buying stuff while the others were cursing the list they HAD to buy from. Something about a new pack of crayons just make me smile! Maybe if I get the colored plates for EF I would remember to use them more! That reminds me – how does everyone store their plates? Ohhh, now I need to check out that acrylic brayer. Why in the world I pitched my old brayer from junior high art class, I have no idea but when I was cleaning out mom and dad’s house to sell, I am pretty darn sure I pitched it. I was just getting into cards and had not used a brayer for any. Hey Sonny, have you checked the clearance sale at SU they restocked it with great stuff or at least what I term great!!!
Loving everyone’s tips and suggestions. I’m guilty of having container envy, too. I just bought the new Stamp and Storage stackable crates and a wheeled mover to hold them. Could only afford 2, but it will be a huge help in getting my DSP under control.
Quick question: where can PP subscribers find the refill codes? I checked everywhere I could think of, and can’t find any of them, much less the Sara Thing refill. I’m afraid it will be sold out by the time I find the code!! Thanks in advance.
Linda, go to the Stampin’ Up! store, Click Paper Pumpkin and Past Refills will pop up, Click on that and you will see what is available. Hurry! Stampin’ Up! posted that they would most likely deplete their supply by the end of today! Good Luck!
It’s A Sara Thing Refill kit is # 144478
a container junkie yep me too! but it does help keep me organized and since I use what I see…clear containers help me here too. My favorite is Iris large photo snd craft keeper http://www.homedepot.com/p/IRIS-4-in-x-6-in-Extra-Large-Photo-and-Craft-Keeper-in-Clear-215626/300381850?cm_mmc=Shopping%7cTHD%7cG%7c0%7cG-BASE-PLA-D59-Storage&Organization%7c&gclid=CjwKEAjw5_vHBRCBtt2NqqCDjiESJABD5rCJeU3Wm_gtasBxYGUtA6_UTe3jJxg6bvihpxLgr-exQhoCvfbw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
it has 16 boxes 4×6 that I use to store my smaller pieces and embellishemnts in a white shoe storage bin(15 sections each holds 3 of the 4×6 boxes)
I use the actual box with 16 sections to hold my card kits…so far I have 6 of the large containers all full of kits and 96 of the 4×6 abouthalf of them are full of embellishments, dimensionals, tombow and elmer’s glue sticks, and to hold my 4 x 4 DSP when I want to cut up a 12 x 12 pack for future use… .KEY…I CAN SEE IT SO I USE IT…hey stack nicely too
Am I surprised that I am in good company when it comes to being a box junkie? I insist I am part cat–love naps, don’t like to get my paws wet, have a box obsession….
Because I used to craft in the living room my box obsession became “nice boxes” (meaning not plastic). I laughed at Chris’ hubby buying all the wrong sizes. Well, that’s the problem with my nice box stash. They aren’t really the right sizes, but I like them of course. I have managed to downsize some containers for being impractical or not really working for me. I really need to do more of that, but it is like getting rid of a loyal dog.
My beef about containers is you finally find one that works for you, perfect size, perfect shape, perfect color or style…. you buy one or two and life is good. Then later you decide you need more and it is nowhere to be found or they changed it up somehow so it is no longer like the first ones.
Oh Judy, I had to laugh….I think I am “part cat” too… Love my naps and totally obsessed with boxes! I have the same problem where I buy a few to see how they will work and by the time I find the perfect use for them and want more more so they all “match” (I am obsessed with that!!!) I can’t find any more! Arrgh!!! I use the photo storage boxes you see at all the craft stores (Hobby Lobby, Michaels, AC Moore) to hold cards and projects. They look nice stacked on a shelf but I admit the big problem is seeing what’s inside so you remember to use it! I need to purge! Hate to part with my retired goodies…you never know what you might want/need someday! (Usually right after you purge!! LOL)
I love the stack box. I have one that I keep all my ink pads in. Very handy. And the color cutting plate yup that is a must have Looking forward to the “stick it” in the new catalog, I have used that stuff for large projects it is great. Thanks for the great ideas.
