Well…it is going to happen today on the East Coast…we are to hit 90+ degrees today and guess who does not have air-conditioning? Yep, ME! Now… I totally have high regards to those of you that do not care for air-conditioning because I marvel you for not complaining (like I do) – I think I have it honestly as I am my Dad’s carbon copy when it comes to this topic.
We “should” be in business by the end of the day….but the wonderful men that are working at the house loosely said the word “should” but I am hoping that my cookies might “sweeten the deal” to get it done! I woke up super early to make fresh cookies for them so the kitchen wouldn’t be too hot.
After my blog post yesterday ~ I thought that I would show you 1st hand how easy it is to USE UP that DSP that you have….even from a 6″ X 6″ square! This is a classic clean and simple card….just like I like it!
There is simply nothing to say from me about this card because it is soooo super easy but still sooooo cute! I did use a product that we use to have and I bet some of you have it …it is called glossy accents. It is a double whammy…..it is an adhesive (really super strong) and it also can be used as a gloss as I have done for you today! (I was fading waiting for it to dry) when I took the picture….but if I had waited 30 minutes more you would have seen that gorgeous shine…..
The other product that I used were some “dew drops” Â – I love the look and feel of these little gems….I am not sure why but they always bring a smile to my face! I use the glossy accents to adhere them as I already had it out!
We all know that there is nothing more classic and symbolic (for a fun time) than a good old fashion Ice Cream Cone. Stampin’ Up! did a great job with this bundle and YEP…it is being carried over but not as a bundle…it will be a la carte therefore you will not get the 10% discount so HERE IS THE REAL SCOOP….if you like to save money, than SCOOP this up!
You all know I adore sentiments and I am thrilled that these framelits are being carried over because I truly love the simplicity of a “single word” and the impact it can do with a clean card like I have for you today! What makes it super fun is that I adhered (4) of them together….it gives you a great look and feel and it really is not a “biggie” to do – I simple sprayed it and POOF – sticks together like a charm.
I hope that this showed you that a piece of DSP (4 1/4″ X 5 1/2″) that is super clean and fun + a good old fashion Ice Cream Cone + a “sweet” word = ONE GREAT CARD…and you bet that whomever receives it….will be smiling. This card would be great to add a gift card to!
Fingers crossed that the air is on by the end of the day….or Milo and I might sneak over to my Dad’s to sleep. I know, I know….I am a baby about this but I simply cannot sleep when it is hot….and Milo agrees that he needs to be with me! (I like the way he thinks)
Playing is fun, shopping is fun. You can already see that there are many items that are already sold out….so please do not be disappointed – remember jammie shopping is totally ON TREND! See you tomorrow…..have a fabulous HUMP DAY!

I is for ICE CREAM ! You must have been over at Jeanie`s yesterday when she was serving ice cream !! This is really cute with that shiny topping ! I am so sorry you are hot ! Being from the south and those air conditioners run non stop in the heat I keep lots of those flexible ice packs in the freezer and I have multiple battery operating little fans . Carry one in my pocketbook in the summer !
This really is a cute card for just about anytime . I really like your stacking three of the SWEET words to give them some body ! You are the Details Diva !!
P.S…..found some covers for my cardstock. The way I chose which one was reading the reviews (AMAZON) BINGO One lady said she used hers for her cardstock . She could put several sheets of 80 lb CS in one folder !! YAY !
SWEET !
I is for Ice Cream – Isn’t Jeanie’s ABC series the BEST! She has fun with anything she does. The air conditioning is still not working….today is the magic day. They worked so hard yesterday and just could not get it finished so today….I BECOME A HAPPY PRINCESS!
I do love to stack the sentiments….I know that it might take a bit more time but in the end, it is worth it! I am THRILLED that you found your covers. I am with you – I read the reviews all the time – I think that you can get a good idea if the comment is what you are looking for!
love the stacked “sweet” and decadent, shiny chocolate on top!
I like the shiny too. I have done it with the clear embossing powder and heat set it – but my glossy accents was right in arms reach!
Adorable card and fingers crossed on your ac. ??
Awe….thanks! It did not completely get finished but today is a NEW DAY! It was an old unit and it took longer for them to rip it out etc……I am thrilled that you liked the card – so simple yet fun!
The colors on this card are sweet. Love the DSP you used for the background. I feel your pain. Life without AC in 90 degree weather is not good. Hope yours gets repaired soon. Thanks for making my catalog adventure so fun. I spent the weekend thumbing through it. And yesterday I got my new paper pumpkin! Talk about “sweet”. Had a lot of fun playing with too.
WOW….you had a GRAND SLAM…..lots of indoor fun for you! I received my PP yesterday and I am excited to play – it is a festive fun one! You should see my catalog….it looks like it has been through a war with the flipping through – it takes me time to “get it” and feel comfortable with the layout!
Get ready for FUN! Hugs to you and the trio….
I always smile when I see cards made wirh this set 🙂 on vacation, we stopped for lunch at Duck Duck Burger in Duck. Not expecting such a tiny place, but I wish I could go back there to eat. Awesome burgers, the nicest lady taking care of the counter and tables and yummy Hersheys ice cream cones for dessert! We are close to 90 also, fingers crossed for your ac!!
LOVE the name….did you see Bubba’s BBQ – that is a great place as well. I see that you are also having heat and storms….be careful! You just can’t go wrong with Ice Cream…..all year long!
I might have seen that BBQ. It does sound familiar. I think we are forecasted for the rain after 3 today. Yes, I am the one who still craves ice cream in the winter!
Instead of using glossy accents for the ” fudge” look, use versa mark and clear embossing powder over the chocolate chip die cut. I did this with my stamp club; worked like a charm! Held it with a post it note on the back while we heated it. I initially used the glossy accents but I knew there was no way it was going to dry in 2 hours. I’ve also used our fine tip glue for a glossy look, but, again, patience is necessary! Ok, so now I have to get some ice cream!
THANKS JAN for sharing this – I did this as well before and you are sooooooo right – sure does beat that “dry time” but truth be told – I was lazy…..love and learn!
I am so glad that you shared this because the moral of this story is…..if I would have done the embossing – I would have an instant smile as we all know that heat embossing makes you happy plus I would have had to wait for the “dry time”
I scream. You scream, We all scream for ice cream! Yummy card!! Love this set too!!!
I was thinking of your Princess when I made this card – I admit, I pulled into Dairy Queen and went through the drive thru…..when they said – can I help you…..I asked if Arianne was working…..when they said no…..I though – OH WELL….better get ice cream – worked for me!
Yummy and sweat card. Cool idea using the glossy accents stuff when you have the time. I just used mine on a card I just started but then had GI problems and that ended that for the day so I had all the time in the world to let it dry. Ice cream just does not sound good right now but I bet I will be CASEing this in the near future. I don’t think I have ever had more than a 2 scooper – 4 with topping would be way too much for me but throw those big spoonfuls in a bowl so I don’t know how many scoops are really there – I bet I could do it! But leave off the whipped cream – I am not a big fan of that stuff esp. with ice cream. I also thought whoever decided we needed whipped cream on our jello in the school cafeteria needed to be stuffed in a vat of that stuff and made to eat their way out of it!
Well….I think that I could eat 4 scoops if the ice cream was my liking but I TOTALLY agree….whipped cream on JELLO – no way!
