How about a Scoop!?!?

Well…it is going to happen today on the East Coast…we are to hit 90+ degrees today and guess who does not have air-conditioning? Yep, ME! Now… I totally have high regards to those of you that do not care for air-conditioning because I marvel you for not complaining (like I do) – I think I have it honestly as I am my Dad’s carbon copy when it comes to this topic.

We “should” be in business by the end of the day….but the wonderful men that are working at the house loosely said the word “should” but I am hoping that my cookies might “sweeten the deal” to get it done! I woke up super early to make fresh cookies for them so the kitchen wouldn’t be too hot.

After my blog post yesterday ~ I thought that I would show you 1st hand how easy it is to USE UP that DSP that you have….even from a 6″ X 6″ square! This is a classic clean and simple card….just like I like it!

There is simply nothing to say from me about this card because it is soooo super easy but still sooooo cute! I did use a product that we use to have and I bet some of you have it …it is called glossy accents. It is a double whammy… is an adhesive (really super strong) and it also can be used as a gloss as I have done for you today! (I was fading waiting for it to dry) when I took the picture….but if I had waited 30 minutes more you would have seen that gorgeous shine…..

The other product that I used were some “dew drops” Β – I love the look and feel of these little gems….I am not sure why but they always bring a smile to my face! I use the glossy accents to adhere them as I already had it out!

We all know that there is nothing more classic and symbolic (for a fun time) than a good old fashion Ice Cream Cone. Stampin’ Up! did a great job with this bundle and YEP…it is being carried over but not as a bundle…it will be a la carte therefore you will not get the 10% discount so HERE IS THE REAL SCOOP….if you like to save money, than SCOOP this up!

You all know I adore sentiments and I am thrilled that these framelits are being carried over because I truly love the simplicity of a “single word” and the impact it can do with a clean card like I have for you today! What makes it super fun is that I adhered (4) of them together….it gives you a great look and feel and it really is not a “biggie” to do – I simple sprayed it and POOF – sticks together like a charm.

I hope that this showed you that a piece of DSP (4 1/4″ X 5 1/2″) that is super clean and fun + a good old fashion Ice Cream Cone + a “sweet” word = ONE GREAT CARD…and you bet that whomever receives it….will be smiling. This card would be great to add a gift card to!

Fingers crossed that the air is on by the end of the day….or Milo and I might sneak over to my Dad’s to sleep. I know, I know….I am a baby about this but I simply cannot sleep when it is hot….and Milo agrees that he needs to be with me! (I like the way he thinks)

Playing is fun, shopping is fun. You can already see that there are many items that are already sold out….so please do not be disappointed – remember jammie shopping is totally ON TREND! See you tomorrow…..have a fabulous HUMP DAY!

It’s a “tag” kind of day….

Good Morning! On Tuesday I shared with you a bundle that snuck right by me when I looked at the Occasions Catalog but thanks to inspiration from my downline and friend Jeanie, I HIT THAT PAW PRINT….and bought the bundle, That’s the Tag. If you missed my post on Tuesday, you can CLICK HERE to see the super sweet flower that I created for my Aunt Karen.

One thing that happens every year that everyone loves….is having a surplus of Holiday Tags for our gifts that we give. Why do we focus so much on the Christmas Holiday? I know many demonstrators have “tag nights” which is a great idea where people can come…chat…and make all sorts of tags and guess what, they are happy, they feel fulfilled and their “joy tank” are filled to the brim.

I hope that the pictures that I have for you will share with you the versatility and fun that you can do with a great bundle like this. You can make tags, you can make cards, you can use all sorts of shapes….(stitched squares would be super fun) so basically you can see that the sky is the limit and with that say – USE UP YOUR SCRAPS!

I think that this is my favorite one…well, I admitΒ  – I like them all but these flowers are just so sweet and they are an item that could be “tucked” in many projects that we work with. Having a framelit helps too!

I used the Aqua Painter and the ink colors are Mink Macaron, Sweet Sugar Plum and Daffodil delight! – I adore this color combination.I actually used just the regular weightof white cardstock when I was cutting these out because I was about to cut 3 at once!

Here is a tip: Because I think that this is such a sweet and useful flower, I cut a BUNCH of them out AND THEN STAMPED THE IMAGE on the little cut out piece. It was super easy to do because it is a photopolymer stamp so I can see through and stamp it easily.

I think when you have a great image like this it is easy to have a bunch stamped in black and ready to do a quick coloring if you needed a little something extra tucked in! The color so quick and the aqua painter makes it a breeze to do.

I popped them up with a stampin’ dimensional and the “lift” gives the fun and finishing touches to make it super special.

Isn’t it super cute to see the tag itself cut out with the leaves showing through. so easy to do as you just use the framelit over the white one and then cut the same size in a contrasting color and adhere them together.

Now to one of my sweet spots…..making something so simple look pretty. I know we have that TIME thing going against us but really Stampin’ Up! does have some packaging goodies that are staples in the house.

These boxes are soooooo sturdy and they make such a great presentation that is always easy to jazz up! Because it is a 3″ square box, it is super easy to add some DSP to the sides for a fun pop. Now I know that WE ALL HAVE DSP that either we an odd amount of, a surplus of, perhaps some that is discontinued etc…..but here you can see that I pulled the whole thing together with the colors from the DSP.

Now look at this fun close up! The beauty of this die is that when you cut it out in 3 colors like I did today, you can mix and match all of the pieces to end up making 3 tags. As I shared on Tuesday, it really is a fun and truly rewarding thing to do to ….adding the contrasting colors in the spaces.

The colors I used were So Saffron. Island Indigo and Bermuda Bay. I took a narrow scrap of paper to stamp the sentiment and then POPPED the entire piece up. (I think that it is super cute) πŸ™‚

Taking it a step further before I added it to the top of the package, I covered the back with some fast fuse and then added some loops of bakers twine. Next, I cut another tag out of fun foam to cover the back so it looks clean and polished so the recipient can use it again!

How how about this cutie! I just think that there are so many ideas and sheer FUN you can have making tags and remember, there is no reason to limit them to just tags – BE CREATIVE and make a simple card using them as a focal point.

I do several Holiday gathering when people can come and purchase gifts and/or order gifts. I will say that people LOVE TO BUY tags because let’s face it, they are super handy to have on hand, they are useful, they make great hostess gifts etc….

Here is another fun shot of a variety….you can see that you could basically sit down….use whatever you see laying around and just GO TO TOWN! This is why that a Tag Event would be FUN. Can’t you imagine just sitting around a big table with lots of paper, ribbons etc…and have a blast making them.

I ask you ….ARE YOU ONE THAT MAKES MULTIPLE OF THE SAME or do you like TO MAKE THEM ALL DIFFERENT? Hands down I am one that creates several that I love and then make multiples of the same…Truthfully I do the same with my cards, when I have a “keeper” – I just make many!

There you go…..some more great ways to use this bundle that I totally breezed by in the catalog. Remember the card that I made for my Aunt Karen on Tuesday? Well….today I am ON THE ROAD with my dear Dad making the trek to go visit Uncle George. He is still not well but better than last week and how can you say no to someone who asks you if you could take him to see his brother.

It is a LONG drive but it will be a great visit with my Dad as we have to drive all the way down 81 into Tennessee and then back into a super sweet town in North Carolina….81 seems like an eternity….but the weather is to be great.

The hour glass has turned – and remember DOUBLE PAW PRINTS for everyone thru the end of March. You all are lovin’ the offerings of the 7 new products….Remember, for every $50 you spend you get to pick a FREEBIE. This is a great time to stock up ont he staples and basics that you use!

*****Make sure you use the BELOW item numbers for these 7 items*****

Have a great day and think of me as I drive…and drive….and drive πŸ˜† Tomorrow it is time for some BLOG CANDY and I think that it is going to make you “twitch your nose” – any ideas? – I hope that this post inspired you to have FUN making a useful and thoughtful handmade work of art from YOUR heart!

It’s all about the details….

Wow….wasn’t hop yesterday SUPER SPRING fun? I hope that you all had time to hop 21 times as there was so much talent out there. My head is swimming with ideas and I am excited to do some CASING!

By now, you know that I love packaging as I think that it is the icing on the cake that truly makes a difference. I think many of you forget the great packaging products that we have.

Today I am using the Glassine Gift Bags ~ it is simple, I would never be without these bags as they are simply the best for my big cookies. My family likes (and makes comments to me if I change) BIG COOKIES and these bags are the perfect accent for 2 BIG cookies to fit into.

True, you could just go ahead and give them in the bag but I think that the way I did it today is SOOOOOO much more fun and special! Because I used glue dots to adhere the fun flowers, I bet you could easily pull them off and re-use them on a card! Sounds like a winner to me – what do you think?

I shared with you yesterday that I was going to be show casing this stamp set for the next 2 days….or I shall say – the bundle – Special Reason….as it is one special bundle. (I adore how the framelits cut out) and I also coupled it with one of my all time favorite thank you sets, One Big Meaning!

I used this stamp set last year for one of my Classes to GO! (kit in the mail) and it was a smile maker to me to pull it off the shelf for you! I think that it is important to have a couple great thank you sets, and this one is a keeper πŸ™‚ I adore the fonts and whenever I see this….I smile – it fits the bill for many cards that we make…

The next 2 pictures will show you “up front and center” the details of today’s post. One thing that I will say all the time is…USE IT UP – if you have ribbon that is not current with Stampin’ Up!….guess what – USE IT UP…..This ribbon has been discontinued for make years but it still works…again, use it up!

In the 2nd picture you can see that I placed a piece of Washi Tape over the staple….again – USE IT UP! This is a quick and fun accent to make the fun sparkle…

It is truly about the little details that not only make it special but it also makes you feel great! Try it….you’ll be super happy.

You might be saying to yourself that this must be a pain to adhere….see the picture below and you will see the tip for you ~ LOVE THOSE GLUE DOTS!

Always tell yourself (as it is soooooo true) ~ there are many ways to get some accomplished without frustration!

I hope that this has inspired you to take an extra step in making someones day….cause’ I know it will….trust me! Enjoy the day!

It is truly amazing what we can do with crafting…stamping…creatingΒ  ~ let you talent shine as I know your efforts will make a difference to someone….GO FOR IT! πŸ˜€

So true….”enjoy the little things”

I am doing the Wednesday “Hump Day Dance” as this is a card right up my alley! Let’s say S I M P L E all at the same time and then you will see that the 2 things that I always say to you that are true…..

  • Use the basics ~ trimmer, big shot, stitched framelits, layering framelits etc…
  • Keep it simple – use “shapes” to make a super quick and clean and simple card! I call a card like this a “formula”Β  – a way to use it over and over and the best thing, you will never get tired of it and you will always be able to change it up with different papers and stamps!

To start a great card comes a great stamp set (sounds basic and safe….right???)…and below you will see that I have you covered with this one! (remember, go with the sentiment stamp sets) – you will always smile as you ALWAYS can add accents to make it fun!

Look below to see the points I made – the basics! The framelits are the best but let’s chat about the Bakers Twine! It is the perfect addition to this card. I did run the twine through the bees wax tip (that I have given you before)….and yep – it gives it the “attitude” it needs! It always makes a perfect bow….every time!

Because I used the largest stitched circle and therefore I could not “mat” it with one larger, I just took (2) regular circle and had them “peek” out – just enough to add a touch of color and a natural POP of color happen!

I know sometimes I get asked, “How do you add that Bakers Twine to the back and do the loops”? – Easy answer – just put an adhesive (I like using Fast Fuse) and then JUST DO IT and do not over think it – it is when you start to overthink it for perfection….that it becoame stressful (sound familiar to anyone?????)

For the bow, I just took 3 strands of twine and tied a super basic bow and placed a glue dot…and PRESTO – pushed it on and into place!

I ask you….would YOU love to receive this? I know that after a long day or heck any day…..if I opened my mailbox and saw a classic card with such a great sentiment on it….I would beam! Sometimes we forget how incredibly special it is to just take the time and write to someone.

This would be one of those cards that I would make up in the masses and also use that DSP that I know that you are hoarding….You can accomplish 3 things in a jif!

  • YOU will be happy because not only did you have some “me time” but YOU have “created” and when we use that inner creativity that we all have, it feels good!
  • YOU will make someones day….a sentiment like this goes a LONG way with so many messages that we would want to convey.
  • YOU are using up all of that paper that I know you have that you just sit and admire. I really do not like this example as I think the 1st two are much more powerful but this one it true….we buy things and then we do not use them….so here you go – I GIVE YOU PERMISSION TO USE IT UP!!!! (trust me, you will feel good) and this layout will lend itself to ANY paper we have!

I hope that you are able to “enjoy the little things” today because it IS the little things that grow to be the BIG things that make a difference. I cannot think of one person that would not enjoy and be honored to receive this card….that’s why I say it is a keeper! πŸ™‚Β

I just love a card like this and I hope that I have inspired you to see that keeping it to the basics just simply works. It is as easy as that! I would love to hear how you like today’s card!

I will not see you until Friday – I will miss you tomorrow but as I like to say “Life is Life” and I need to be where I need to be! Have a fabulous day and go and make a difference to someone! Keep it SIMPLE! (I just love that motto)

Remember, you can click here and see the NEW SALE-A BRATION offerings….you guys are lovin’ that sparkle paper…and I GET IT….it’s a beauty! With every $50.00 you spend, you can pick a FREEBIE….and if you spend $75 with me….you can get that FREEBIE plus I will send you a brand spankin’ new VersaMark Pad…..we can always use this super product!

“Winging it Wednesday” with Chris R.’s help!

Well…did I get you with this subject line? I hope so as I want you all to know that YOU are the ones that inspire ME! I received this card from our dear Chris R. from Iowa that is famous from her wonderful comments and I just has to CASE it!

Do you remember that I shared with you the how I feel about CASING? Well…I say ~ GO FOR IT….and when I received this card from Chris, I knew that I needed to do a blog post!

You know that I am “Plain Jane” with my simple style (sorry if your name is Jane – I have many friends named Jane) and I am not one that does odd “folds of cards” (pssst…Jeanie LOVES fun fold cards) but I just knew that you would love this!

I also know that you all LOVE when I share with you dimensions…..and I am ALL FOR THAT as this is how we CASE without frustration πŸ˜€Β  This layout can be used with SO MANY stamps that we have but you already know…..I adore this stamp set….as I love to cook and I love it when we have “puns of sentiments”

  • Card base is 5 1/2″ X 7 3/4″ and then scored at 1 3/4″ and 6″
  • The Sweet Sugar Plum Mats are 1 1/2″ X 5 1/4″
  • The DSP is 1 1/4″ X 5″
  • The inside Sweet Sugar Plum Mat is 4″ X 5 1/4″ and the White is 3 7/8″ X 5 1/8″

Use the “shapes” as you will…as you can see that the sky is the limit with how you can use different shapes to fit the stamps that you use. I will say that if you do not have these Stitched Shapes Framelits – you need to take care of that – HIT THAT PAW PRINT and be happy that you are the proud owner of a “keeper”….just sayin’ πŸ˜€

This is a FUN card that I would keep in that wonderful memory bank of yours….but actually – I would try to make this card today as it is right in front of you and then I know what will happen….it is soooooo easy – you will SMILE….you will be HAPPY… will be PROUD OF YOURSELF…and then at the end you will feel that WONDERFUL FEELING of I DID IT! (and that makes ME happy) πŸ˜›

Thanks to Chris R. for this great card for me to case and I hope that it tickles your fancy! You all are the best and I look forward to seeing you here tomorrow…one thing about me, I love what I do and I love sharing with YOU!

There you go….will you try it? I hope so as you know that this is out of my box….but I will say that I like this box! It is a great layout and one that will go a long way with so many different stamp sets that you have!

Many thanks for the “love and comments” of my post yesterday! I am so tootin’ excited that we have a FASTER internet ( I kind of feel like Green Acres) so watch out – you will see more videos but they will ALL be “one take wonders” but I think the message will be delivered!

Happy HUMP day and until tomorrow….have a great day and go out and make someone smile!

p.s.- Chris R. ~ thank you for making me smile with this great card! 😎

Kindness Work….always!

I am super excited about the theme of this weeks Global Design Project Challenge as it is “Random Acts of Kindness”…this topic touches my heart and I just had to take a break from the new catalog to play along with this challenge!

We all need some “Vitamin D” at this time of the year as the days are shorter. I invite and I encourage you to take a day….take some extra cards you might have that you have made and…JUST DO IT – take some “me time” and write a note and send them out……trust me – your heart will be happy!

If you follow my blog (and I sure hope you do) – you know that I do like to use “fun foam or foam sheets” to add dimension to my cards and today you can see thst i used it with the sentiment….I personally LOVE the look and feel it gives!

How can you go wrong…the image of the “sun” with the word “sunshine”…to me – that is the best type of kindness that you could give! This would be an easy card to “mass produce” and you know me, I love making multiple cards when I sit down to have fun!

I hope that you will pop over to the Global Design Project Website and see all of the GREAT cards that are there…and then – GO FOR IT…we all need to share “Random Acts of Kindness” me – when you do…you will smile, you will be fulfilled…you will feel joy!

Here is your 411 – Directory Assistance photo….FUN card – SUPER easy….TOTALLY timeless….HAVE FUN!

The month is coming to an end….but the beginning of October.…is a special day…WORLD CARD MAKING DAY….so I hope that you will find some time to make a difference on someones life….random acts of kindness are the best and there is nothing better than getting a card in the mail…..DO IT!!!
