Can you say….Hip Hip Hooray! I have a fun and fast one for your Friday! This new stamp set, Celebrate You is one “fast stampin’ dream machine”…basically it is a wham – bam…stamp…YOU’RE DONE stamp set!
I think that this is one of those “blue ribbon winners” in the catalog and this would be a stamp set that can easily be made in the masses to have a surplus on hand. I think that we all know that you cannot have too many Birthday Cards on hand!
The shapes in this stamp set are super easy to “fussy cut out” to make a simple card that truly is a simple one but it carries a BIG and CLASSIC punch!
After stamping the image on a piece of scrap in Flirty Flamingo I just quickly cut it out. Now for the fun…I took a piece of the new Flirty Flamingo 3/8″ Striped Grosgrain Ribbon and cut the side binding off and then “pulled the ribbon” to let the little fine threads in both the white and pink get separated! FUN…right!!!
Here you can see the fibers a bit better…..I thought that this would be a fun alternative to do. A quick Whisper White Bakers Twine Bow over top of the fru-fru ribbon was the perfect accent. Here’s a tip….and one that you have heard me say over and over….glue dots are the PERFECT adhesive of choice for adding bows…
I just think it is a fun to see how we can use products in different ways and the fun fibers showing the colors of the flirty flamingo adds not only FUN but texture!
I know that it is super hard to see but I did use the polka dot embossing folder to the overlay of the card…a simple addition that takes guess a “sec” to do but if you are like me…it is something that I just forget about doing….(truth be told -I think it is because I need to move my container of embossing folders to the forefront of my Big Shot area….out of sight – out of mind!!!)
Do you love the DSP as much as I do….it is from the Pick a Pattern and there are all sorts of ways to use these papers for such a wide variety of projects…I use my swatch books that I make when I do a product share as they truly are the lifesaver/timesaver for me to use when coming up with the perfect compliment for my envelope – the colors and unique patterns of this paper are such a WOW!
I do not know about you but…there is usually one side of the DSP’s that I gravitate to…and with this specific print – YIKES….I like both sides as I am a HUGE fan of a great black and white pattern!
Can you see that I used the new Washi Tape on the envelope?! I love the way that the Washi Tape is with the new catalog…all in one place….YIPPEE, page 195!
I know…I know – we all seem to have a ton of washi but….really – what is one more when it is sooooooo adorable!
So Hip Hip Hooray….it is another Birthday! I hope that this glimpse of this stamp set has made you think and see that it’s a keeper. Birthday cards are ones that we always seem to need and this lends itself to a fast and fun card!
Have a fabulous Friday and guess what tomorrow brings…..a team member will be in the house so get ready for another weekend post from 2 team members! You will be smiling….as I sure was when they shared with me their talent!
Thanks for popping in……make it a great day!
Fun! Fun! Fun! Simple and easy…..a total keeper card. Your fru-fru is a great idea. ?
Yes, definitely fun! I don’t think I have seen any or maybe just a few cards using this set. The polka dot embossing folder is perfect to continue the party look! The envelope is fun too with that cute strip of Washi tape. You could do all the stamping and then save them up and fussy cut while watching TV or something if you needed birthday cards in masses say for a charity or something. All kinds of colors and color combination would work. Fun! Speaking of fun, hope you are having fun. I saw that Mary and her daughter took a cooking class with Brian King – now that would be fun!
So clever how you did the fru-fru……makes the card come alive! Who wouldn’t enjoy receiving it? I looked right over this set in the catalog. I need to go back and look again! Can’t wait to hear more about your trip. Have a magical day!!!!
Love the flu-fru!!! Love the entire card! I definitely noticed the embossing folder dots and agree that it is perfect for the card!
What an adorable card! Love the way you cut the ribbon too! This gets the triple crown…fun, fast, and fabulous!
I noticed this set one of the first times looking thru the catalog. It would easily dress up a plain gift bag. Very fun with the polka dot embossing folder!
So cute ….so Susan ! I have just gotten some Lemon Lime Twist ribbon and I am going to see if I can get creative with it !
I did cut some thin strips of it the other day BUT I think I am gong to see if I can do a “SUSAN” and get even more creative !!
Love Washi Tape ! I HOARD it !! I LOVE LOVE that we have color coordinated groups !!! I use it often on my envies !
