Happy Hump Day and it is time for John and I to “EXPLORE” today as we are going to see some temples today in beautiful Chiang Mia (I think I have the day/date correct). This is stamp set that I would wager to say was “passed by” in the new catalog but I just love it! (it is on page 35 in case you want to know)
You can see that this is a “Susan kinda card” as I just love those stamp sets that lend itself to a clean and simple card. You can see that this is all about the basic’s…..and BAM – YOUR DONE!
- The Stitched Framelits
- The Aqua Painter for a quick and simple pop of color
- Layers of Card Stock (that always is an eye pleaser)
- Doing a simple tone on tone stamping to create an INSTANT interest
In the below picture you can see that I did a tone on tone stamping with the suitcase stamp (I thought this would be soooo appropriate as we are traveling) but just look at the fun feel it gives to this card!
You can also see the super quick coloring I did….the colors that I used are in the line up at the end of the post and how about that linen thread? Does the trick each and every time!
To me, I just adore the color combination of Pink, Grey and White! How about you? The icing on the cake is the envelope fun as always using the Whole lot of Lovely DSP!
I hope that this has perked yo your day and that you will take a look at this fun stamp set! I see lots of possibilities for the small images and then adding a BIG sentiment from another set….that will be for another day!
We are winding down on our travels and I am hoping to edit my pictures and share with you the fun we have been having…..I am sure that our critters at home will be wanting some LOVE from their Mom and Dad – we have never left them this long!
Have a great day and until tomorrow!
Love the simplicity of this card. It gives you a clear message and the colors work so well together. Continue to enjoy your adventure….can’t wait to see the pics!
Cute card, Susan. Enjoy your trip and have an uneventful trip home.
Hi Susan . . . I love the tone on tone stamping. Again, such an easy thing to do, yet so underused. Also, I totally skipped over this stamp set. I’ll definitely have to go back and look again.
Thanks for the tip!
🙂
Hi Susan!! The pink, gray and white is a lovely combination! What a wonderfully fun travel card. Hope you and John enjoy every minute of this trip. I bet there will be a stampede on Randall Lane when you pull in the yard!!!! All your fur babies have got to be wondering where you are. ?
Oh how pretty ! I think the pink is the surprise in this card`s theme . I like it ! My mother`s kitchen was done in pink and grey .
Your little Itell ZOO is going to go bonkers when you and John get back home ! It will be a furry frenzy !!
Love the color combination. I always forget about the tone on tone and it is so fun and cool looking. You could use this as a thank you card for your various people who took care of your fur babies large and small. On the inside, you could make the international symbol and the word NOT with the red slash though it as you are done exploring for awhile! Your card seems so fresh and cool – I am in the midst of charity cards asking for Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas ones. Looking forward to seeing photos when you get back. Have a safe journey.
Pink and gray! I totally forget about that combo! Now, I think you have been visiting a few animals while on your vacation. How many are coming home with you !?!?!
I’m thinking at least 1 elephant!!! ?
Love the color combo. Tone on tone stamp is great for a subtle background. I forget to use it though. Sweet card.
I love the background….pulls the card together without being distracting. Thanks for the tip abt the scissors yesterday. I only have one pair of the ones SU retired and I am always wondering what I will do uf something happens to them.
Susan: I don’t know how you do it almost every day….give us inspiration, encouragement and a truly wonderful card. This card is just perfection. Hope you and John have an easy trip home! Can’t wait to hear about all the adventures.
Very worldly. Adore the simple design and touch of twine!
