Good Sunday to you! We sure have had a FUN week with not only great cards but it has been Candy Land all week and today is no different! I have a tough one for you….as on the weekends the posts are centered around a “Saturday” version and then on Sunday you see the “stepped up version” and then you decide!
This really has been fun and I think that you are going to love todays post…the Blog Candy….the question…..and of course the WINNER from yesterday!
Whew…..I can say that we have a true to form “STAMPIN’ THROW-DOWN” this weekend as todays card was made from a team member from the West Coast (California) …Karen Hallam! To refresh your memory….yesterdays card was an East Coast (Pennsylvania) …made by Rosanne Mulhern and I think we can all say – they are super!
Karen has a blog, Karen’s Stampin’ Habit and you can go and see all of the scoop about how she STEPPED IT UP today and I will say….this is really – really a tough one….I wish that you all had them in your hands because the pictures are good…but let me tell you – there’s noting like having them in your paws!
This bundle sure has been a hit! I think it is super easy to see the versatility of it with using bold colors, subtle ones….letting the simple “Daisy” stand alone and be a statement….use multiple flowers to create depth (like Karen did today)….pairing it with DSP the list goes on but at the end of the day…..this bundle is a MUST HAVE as we all know it has been in and out of stock…but it is IN & READY FOR YOU!
Please POP Over to Karens blog, Karens Stampin’ Habit and see all of the scoop on todays card….she will have the measurements, the “ins and outs” in making this beauty and while you are there…..be a “smart stamper” and…..
- SURF around her blog and see the talent that Rosanne has….she is the queen of clean – her talent is amazing and she aways does such a fantastic job with giving the “inside of her cards” love…..
- SIGN UP for her blog to have inspirations in your mailbox!
The 2 elements off the bat that are different are…the vellum over the “Thank You” and then the addition of the Powder Pink Ribbon but pop to her blog to see the complete “411-Directory Assistance” on this card!
Now we need to do our exercises….and I know that there are a bunch of you out there are hoping that you won the Daisy Bundle (and I do not blame you as it is a Summer Sizzler) so get up……hands in the air – wiggle those fingers – stretch to the left and right and now look at your computer and it your name is Darlene K you need to DO IT….SHAKE EVERYTHING YOU’VE GOT because you WON! When you get all settled down, email me!
I LOVED what she said about the water-coloring…that each time…“it looks a bit different” and YEP soooooo true – that is the BEAUTY of it! I adored the comments and I am not only thrilled that you all enjoyed Rosanne’s talent (she’s good…right!!!!) but I loved reading about your styles and it looks like Watercoloring and Heat Embossing are areas that you like to explore more!
Now to BLOG CANDY for today! YIPPEE…..more candy!
To end this fun week I wanted to have today’s candy be a representation of what I am about… Clean and Simple!!! You hear me all the time saying that the basics are the name of the game so how about if I shower you with some basics that I know you will ALWAYS use!
It is a long list of the basics so hear you go….one person will be ONE HAPPY STAMPER! This will truly be a box of “Happy Mail”
- A Medley of Adhesives: a Fast Fuse…A Snail…a bottle of “Green Glue”…a roll of Mini Glue Dots…A roll of Tear & Tape…a pack of BOTH Mini and Regular Stampin’ Dimensionals & a pack of Foam Adhesive Strips ( all of my favorites adhesives)
- A Medley of Bakers Twine: The Basic Colors that are a must have. White, Very Vanilla, Basic Black (in the solids) and then Dapper Denim, Flirty Flamingo, Old Olive and Basic Black.
- Basic Pens of “must haves” – The Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker, a Journaling Pen, a mechanical pencil and a White Gel Pen
- A stash of boo-boo fixers and cleaner – My “go-to” erasers (the sand one and magic rub) and Stamp Cleaning Chamois (the cloth that I love to clean my stamps!)
This whole week of spoiling you rotten is again, my thanks and appreciation for your support as without your support…the Thailand trip wouldn’t have been possible.
Thank you …thank you and please share my blog with your family and friends as I truly love what I do! Here’s the question for the day. (this will be good and I am excited to see your loves and passions)
1st – let me know how you LOVE this card today as Karen did a great job and then…share a quick thought…
FILL IN THE BLANK.….I love stamping because _____________________
(now… no one words here…let’s put that love & heart into the answer)
I am going to write down all of my answers for the week of questions that I have given you then next time I post and I think many of you already know what I am going to say!
Until then….Thank you…thank you for your time and making me feel soooo incredibly blessed to do this wonderful and simple thing we do….STAMP! Now go have a FABULOUS DAY!
I love stamping because: Even for people who are retired, or almost-retired as I am, life can be hectic and out-of-control. Too many obligations, too much to do–we’ve all been there. For me, fiddling with paper, stamps, and all the rest of it, is soothing. For the bit of time I’m putting together a card or other project I can shut out all the “have-tos” and just use my imagination with no rules or boundaries.
I’m a huge fan of the weekend posts and your team members have sure “stepped up” to the plate! Karen’s card adds just the right touches to Rosanne’s beauty. The ribbon and leaves are my favorite additions. Great job, both ladies. My favorite thing about stamping is the sense of accomplishment and joy I get when I share handmade love and the peace I get when creating it. A close second is the wonderful sense of community within the stampers online…you foster that to the max, Susan, and I appreciate it!
I love stamping because it’s fun, stress relieving and provides instant gratification. It projects that can he completed in one sitting. How many projects do we start and then still sit unfinished? With stamping and card making you can be proud of the finished project.
I love stamping because it is not only fun but I can then give a card that I made that brightens someone’s day. Win Win!
I love stamping because it feeds my need to be creative. Stamping is my “me” time. Sending my cards to friends and family has its own rewards. I love staying in touch. It is my way of sending love right through the mail.
Thank you Karen and Roseanne for two beautiful and inspiring cards. ❤️
I love stamping because it is a wonderfully creative outlet that I can do by myself or with friends. We create little gifts of art and feelings to share with others to brighten their day and share life. It can be as simple or as detailed as you want to make it and it conveys a simple message of thanks, love, support or concern. What a fun and simple thing to do to spread goodwill in the world!
I love stamping because…it gives me a chance to make something from the heart. I am no artist…I cannot draw a straight line even with a ruler! This is something I am learning to do and to create something that will hopefully make the recipient smile and know I care and that I am thinking of them.
Great cards ladies. I love the simplicity…my kind of card!
I love stamping because it gives me ‘free’ time to enjoy making cards and little gifts for friends and family. I make so many more cards than I could possibly use, so I take a few hundred cards a couple of times during the year to a local Senior Center where they are a big hit.
I love stamping because it is so creative! It is fun to share a handmade card with a friend, family member, or even a waitperson at a restaurant… a simple act of kindness when I am out in the community… people are so touched by this.
It is great to make a card that caters to a person’s interests… personalizing the card I send is always a hit! I enjoy sitting down at the kitchen table and making a gift of a set of cards, in a pretty gift envelope. So fun! Recipients really appreciate something handmade, and it brings me much joy to share my cards with others.
Karen’s card is beautiful with the subtle differences from Rosanne’s card. Karen’s challenge of stepping up Rosanne’s card surpassed my expectations! I thought Rosanne’s card had everything I could think of, but Karen’s additions really add a finished look. Thanks to both of them. I love stamping because it gives me a sense of calm while I’m playing in my craft room, a sense of pride when I finish a card for someone special and a sense of confidence that I have helped make someone’s day better when they receive a card.I also love the card community whether I am at a local cardmaking class or reading blogs of very talented people and comments from their fans. It’s been a life-saver for me since I retired in 2004. Everyone enjoy your day!
I love stamping for lots of reasons. My daughter insisted that I go to a S U party at a friends house with her. That was twelve years ago. She still takes me to a monthly club meeting with 15 to 20 other ladies even though she doesn’t do much stamping anymore. I love the friends I have met thru stamping and my non stamping friends love getting little handmade gifts. A great quiet creative outlet, Very calming to me.
What a fun set of cards this weekend. Both beautiful! Great job to both Roseanne and Karen. The subtle addition of vellum was a great way to step up this sweet card. As to to the question why do I stamp, I like to make things with you in mind. Something to make you smile.
Susan, thanks for giving us the opportunity to pair up and work together on your weekend blog posts! It was fun!! And with the internet, it hardly seems like we live on opposite ends of the country 🙂 I love stamping for the community! It brings people together who love the same craft and we can laugh and play and meet new people. Who would have thought I’d be getting together for stampin’ gigs in Atlanta with people I’d only met on the internet and feel like I’ve known them for years!!! I also love it because it gives me some time to be creative and get the right side of my brain working! And I love making and giving away cards and projects to brighten someone’s day. Sounds like I’m in the right “business!”
I love stamping because…it allows me to take time out of my life to do something I want to do and then share with family and friends what I’ve done. It can be a personal and social time all in one!
Beautiful cards. I love stamping because it gives me a chance to be creative. Ive made the most wonderful friendships through stamping and it is a great chance for fellowship. I also love making someone’s day by sending them a handmade card.
Wowzers! Love how you you stepped up the card, Karen. Great job to both of you on two beautiful cards. And wowzers to you, Susan, for making this week fun with great cards and awesome blog candy.
I love stamping because it not only makes the receiver feel special but it makes me feel good too. Although I have never met any of our “cyber family” the happy feeling I get when I read your blog makes me smile and that would not have happened without stamping. ?
I love stamping because of the great community of creative people I have met- Whether online or face to face. I’ve developed some fabulous friendships & we can share our creative ideas-such a win-win!!!
I love these posts that you do on the weekends! Love todays card! For me stamping is therapeutic. After a bad day stamping helps releve the stress. I also have met so many wonderful people stamping!
I love the addition of vellum that Karen used on her card. It can add a beautiful layer of softness to any project. I often forget to use it until I see a beautiful card like what Karen made.
I love stamping because everyone needs a ‘happy place’ and this is mine. It relaxes me and it makes me slow down to enjoy the beauty of things around me…ribbons, textures, colors, and images that bring joy to my heart. Then after completing a card and giving it to someone, then I receive joy to my soul!
Thank you Susan for all that you do for others.
Barbara
Both cards are lovely. I like to stamp because I get to use my creative mind that way and it also helps me to de-stress as it is so relaxing to me. I love to do Clean and Simple, I use to decorate cakes and the rule is, “less is more”, so I try to apply that idea to my cards too. 🙂
I love Karen’s card. I didn’t think it could be cuter but Sunday’s post proved me wrong!!! I love to stamp because it lets me escape into a creative world. Although I will usually begin with a card I want to “case” the end result will often be totally different!!!
Stamping is a win/win situation. Both the creator and the recipient are blessed. I value Stampin’ Up and all that they have contributed to the stamping community. I love it all/something for everyone’s style.
I love to stamp because of the opportunity to be creative. I don’t have as much time as when I first started stamping – then I would create my own designs. I found it very satisfying. Now I usually search for a card to copy – not typically copied exactly but an idea for a layout. I feel like sending handmade cards expresses that you care enough to make something unique for the person.
Wow what a great “stepped-up” card. The additions were very simple but very appealing. Both cards were keepers in my craft room!
I love stamping because…..it is a my “therapy”. I lover to get in my craft room & start out with some card stock & a stamp & just see where it leads me. I might have an idea of what I want to accomplish but sometimes it ends up very different then my original idea. Plus, I like to send cards to friends & family……it seems like the world moves so fast that to have someone slow down & look at & read a special note created just for them puts a smile on my face & hopefully theirs as well. Thanks for all the creative ideas. Keep it up.
I love the addition of pink ribbon, but prefer Saturday’s card without the vellum. I love stamping, because for me its mostly a quiet, solitary pastime. My husband said my craft table is like a magnet…I can’t walk by without stopping to work (play)!!! I love everything about my hobby, the inks, papers, embellishments! Thank you!
I like both cards but today’s card adds a some pizzaz without being overly done.. I amd a CASE stamper.
I love stamping because it is “my time” to do whatever I want.. it relaxes me and I love it when people I send them to tell me they are keeping it because they liked it so much.. makes me feel like I have done something nice for somebody..
Thanks for the chance to win Blog Candy.. love it
Love the addition of the vellum and the leaves, beautiful!
I love to stamp for the way it feeds my soul, creative instant gratification with immediate joy for the recievers, community with friends and family, and stress relief to top it all off!
I love Rosanne’s card and I love Karen’s. They are beautiful and happy. Thanks for reminding me to use my ribbon and it doesn’t need to be in a bow.
I love stamping because it’s the only time during the hectic day that I can relax and be creative. I also like learning new techniques. That makes things interesting and fun.
I love stamping for many reasons. First, it is relaxing and it fulfills my creative genius. But most of all when I send a card it brighteners someone’s day and makes them feel good. I’m very impressed with Karen’s card today with the soothing colors and simplicity of the DSP with the Daisy. Of course the ribbon is the finishing touch!
Both cards are Beautiful! Love the stepped up version bringing in the small amount of green. I love stamping because it allows my creative juices to flow. Learning new techniques is another reason, my cards are used to bless other people also. I’ve had many people tell me they look forward to seeing a card from me because they never know what will be inside the envelope! Thank you again, Susan, for giving away some wonderful blog candy this week.
Congrats to Darlene on winning an awesome prize.
Oh Karen, you stepped it up even more than I envisioned. I thought a piece of ribbon to combine the two panels, a couple of leaves and to add something to the center of the pretty daisy. I was not expecting the vellum and it adds a cooling touch. But, both cards are stunning. Both of you did a fantastic job on the two day post and were a zillion miles away.
Wow, another amazing blog candy giveaway. Such generosity.
Why I like stamping (love is too strong of a word especially when things go wrong which they do quite frequently) BECAUSE I CAN! Roberta kind of stole all my ideas I was thinking about. Thank goodness she didn’t mention relaxing as sometimes I am sweating bullets to get something made let alone have it be almost perfect!
I love stamping because even an ucreative person like me can put some love into making a card that doesn’t look too bad and send to someone to let them know you are thinking of them
. . . I love stamping because I like to make things. This was my first reason, but I think more so because it makes people happy when they receive a hand made card from me. It is a lot of fun to make a card specifically for a person. One of these days I’m hoping to meet some of you, but in the meantime, the internet is making a family of us all.
Karen your subtle changes are so soft. I think they add just enough to make the card stepped-up. I always learn so much and pick up little hints. Vellum . . . yes, I must move mine to a more visible location.
Blessed Sunday.
🙂
I love stamping because it allows me to foster my creativity which would be hidden without this outlet!
Karen’s card has a very soft subtle look to it. Love it, but I’ve
always been a daisy lover. I LOVE stamping because it allows you to CREATE a one-of-a kind card. You get to choose the paper, stamps, message and embellishments so it gives you the FREEDOM to make it YOURS! I have been stamping since 1997 and it still thrills me when I get ready to make a card for someone!
True therapy from a stressful day or week; to have peace and quiet and let my creativity flow; make something with my hands that is beautiful to the eyes; send mail-I love sending mail that brings a smile to someone else! I just simply LOVE STAMPING!
My number one reason that I love stamping is to bring a little sunshine to someone else. This is why I started making cards a few years ago.
For me when I receive a card in the mail from a friend or family just brightens my day. Especially, when the card is hand made. I understand how much work goes into making it.
I love crafting and making all sorts of things and it is a joy for me to see the outcome of the cards I make.
Susan, you are an inspiration to me. You have so many creative ideas. I couldn’t make half the cards I do without gleaning how to make great looking cards from you and your team members.
Adore the cute daisy card and the beautiful coral color!!
I love stamping because it really is cheaper than therapy!! No, really…well, yes…
I love stamping because it lets me be creative on a small scale.
I love stamping because my cards make my 28 grandchildren so happy on their birthdaze!
I love stamping because it makes me feel artistic!
I love stamping because it uses a different part of my brain than my other activities and responsibilities. It clears my head and lets me go into a place of peace. When I make cards in my studio, I lose track of time.
Love to send these cards to friends and family who need to know that someone is thinking of them. Handmade cards are the best!
Hats off to another great team of cards this weekend! I love the wow factor and the simplicity. I dud nit notice the vellum but I bet it’s gorgeous in person. This is a good formula for using dsp. I love stamping because it is a theraputic stress outlet (most of the time!) Takes my mind off things. As I am getting better at watercoloring and in my zone, it is tons of fun!
Great cards. I’m smitten with this Daisy bundle. I love stamping because it’s fun to create and share the joy.
Both of the weekend cards are fantastic, but I love how the little bit of green color in the leaves and center really makes the colors in the patterned paper pop!
I love stamping because it is my me time, it helps me separate from work stresses, and I love to share my cards with others! And many other reasons, but those top the list!
I love love love the daisy punch. Especially live the swirls in the paper.
I love stamping for the calm it brings me….some call what we do tedious, I call it relaxing.
Both cards were terrific. I like the leaves added to the stepped up version. I love stamping because I enjoy making cards to bring joy to others. I appreciate when people acknowledge how they loved the cards that I send to them.
Beautiful daisy card. I loving stamping because it is fun, creative, and a great stress reliever. My craft room is my escape. I love being able to create a great card and share it with someone else and brighten their day.
Thanks for the fun week and blog candy Susan!
I love stamping because I like making people smile and surprising them with a handmade gift.
Both cards are very crisp and striking! I love how the subtle changes that Karen made give the card an entirely different look.
I love stamping because it is my “mental health” break for the day. I can relax, be creative, and challenge myself with no expectations from anyone!
I like both cards, but the stepped-up version is my favorite because I prefer the softer look and the touch or ribbon. I love stamping because it is relaxing, yet precise at the same time. It makes me feel like an artist with all the different kind of stamps and techniques available, as well as materials upon which to stamp!
I love stamping because it is relaxing and makes me happy to create and I hope it does the same for the receipents of my cards or projects!
Love the stepped up version of the card!
I love stamping because it is a fun hobby, challenges my creativity, and lets me share a piece of me with the recipients of my cards. Thanks for all the wonderful ideas you share with us!
Lovely card Karen! The vellum and ribbon add a softness and I love the touches of old olive. Wink of Stella is the best and the perfect addition to step it up!
Because… I can share the love I put into the project with the recipient.
Both cards are terrific! Need to put the Daisy Bundle on my wish list.
I love stamping because it is fun and I love working with paper. I also enjoy getting together with 3 of my friends each month to stamp. We always have a great time.
I love stamping because…well I first loved it because my daughters did & it was something we could enjoy together. Now I like to make cards for special people that I hope will make them know they are special! Beautiful card 🙂
I love Karen’s card. Simple but very pretty. And I love stamping because it’s my serenity. I can forget about the world outside and just have fun making beautiful cards.
Rosanne and Karen your cards are lovely!
I love stamping because I love to be crafty and creative. I love spending time in my craft room creating, but I love getting together with other ladies who love to stamp. Stamping feeds my creative soul! And, as they say, it’s cheaper than therapy!
What a beauty by Karen! The daisy and colors are perfection!
