Good morning! I hope you are ready for the weekend…I sure am!
We have a bunch going to today to chat about but before we do – push back that chair and get ready to do what we do when there is blog candy winner time…..get those hands up and shake it…shake it some more and if you are Katie (below) than you need to squeal so loud that we all can hear you! WOOT-WOOT you won!
I loved, loved, LOVED reading your comments about the blends and I am thrilled that so many are excited about them coming aboard the Stampin’ Up! Train of fabulous products. As soon as I know the availability date you will know….
One thing that I want to emphasis about these or any alcohol markers is…You do not need to know one thing about shading to enjoy the beauty of what this marker will bring to your projects.
Trust me on this one…They simply GLIDE over your paper and absorbed into the paper leaving no lines of where you stop and started. This is why alcohol-based markers are great medium for coloring with fabulous results.
The way I would rather you look at it is…If you choose to use two to blend together…That’s great but you do not need to use two colors together when coloring an image it.
Think of it this way…You have two completely different colors. Stamping Up Blends have a palette of 12 (as of now) but because we have 2 of each color (a light and a dark) you actually have 24 completely different colors.
We ALL seem to agree….we ADORE the fact that the Blends MATCH our beautiful colors…that is why HANDS DOWN I knew that when Stampin’ Up! brought these back….I was IN FOR SURE…..(even though I am a COPIC gal too) because of the “matching factor” – I LOVE that these MATCH our fabulous colors.
Whew….that’s over – now here is something that you all will love…..FREE SHIPPING! For me – anytime I see FREE SHIPPING, you can count me in. Being totally honest, it PAINS me more thank you will ever know to pay so much for shipping…..SO –
My wonderful peep (James) Birthday is Sunday the 15th and mine is Tuesday the 17th so it is a “happy” time for me….so what better way so share the “happy” than to pass it on to YOU!
SO….as the header picture says…..Sunday – Tuesday I will give you FREE SHIPPING when you place an order from me on my online store with any purchases over 75+.
How does it work? – after you place the order I will see it….and when I send you the gift with purchase for the month (Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad) I will send you a check for the amount that your shipping was. (I offer this randomly and I know than many of you love it) so…here you go – 3 days for you to look and see what you need.
Here is the Hostess Code for this month – N7K7RR46 (you will always see the current one on the side of my blog)
Why not go together with a friend if you cannot meet the $75 limit yourself (I don’t think that will be a problem if you are anything like me)…have FUN and a great way to stock up on staples.
HOW ABOUT MORE BLOG CANDY???
Let’s keep chatting about these new markers……leave a comment and give some feedback….here is the question …..When these markers come out….will you “pick and choose certain color families” or will you buy the whole set……
I can’t wait to hear your preference….for me – HANDS DOWN…..I had to get the whole darn deal! Remember, tomorrow (the 15th) is the last day that you can get “the ultimate bundle” of them as Stampin’ Up! only has them available as of now to demonstrators….
For $99 you will get ALL OF these Stampin’ Blends (a $121.50 value) – ships for free…..plus I will send you the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad…and you will be good to go to color away!
Monday, I will pop on and let you know the WINNER of this blog candy….another set of the cards…..someone will win (4) cards and the ink pad …..
Where am I today? I am with 4 AMAZING GALS…my Stampin’ Buddies…..Jeanie, Rosanne, Deb and Ramsey as we are staying at Ramsey’s in Annapolis, MD and stampin’…chattin’ ….laughin’…..a perfect and special time…..gotta run -we are doing our own show box swap!
Hi! More chances! I think I’d try the blues…pool party probably. Thanks!
For me, it will depend on how much they cost. Not being a demonstrator, I have to limit my spending! It’s already an expensive hobby because I have trouble saying no to beautiful sets!
I always tell myself to practice restraint when it comes to shopping for my SU products then I lose control because I just cant decide. I love them all but if I had to make a choice I’d probably go with the earth tones to start….then well you know what would happen next.:)
First, congrats to Katie! I too, have wanted to try Copics but thought they might get a bit addictive if I did well with them and how to choose what colors to play with first!
Second, I am so jealous of your play time today. But, I think you deserve a break from the pity party and have some fun including Black Beauty. I can see your cohorts putting some bling on her! We have drizzly rain – not cold but not real hot. Goofy weather to say the least.
OK about those blender markers. I can not afford the whole kit and caboodle but will reluctantly pick a few colors to try and order today or tomorrow. I am thinking Night of Navy and maybe Olive Green and maybe some fall colors or the maybe traditional Christmas colors. I buy flower stamps but so rarely use them. But, I need to perfect the tulips in the Tranquil Tulips hostess set. I have something up my sleeve in regarding this set maybe in a couple of months.
Anyway, have a fun time and hugs to all! By the way, your card is in the mail!
I love them all, but will also have to practice some restraint, my checkbook already whimpers whenever SU puts something new out! Probably start with a couple complimentary colors…maybe several!
Hey . . . OMG I am so excited for you four to me having so much fun together. We need a pic or two soon. So great that you live close enough to play.
I got my “Navy Blends” yesterday and other than trying them on a piece of scratch paper, I have not colored anything yet. Maybe today but if not . . . definitely tomorrow.
Susan, I hope your formal tux, Black-Tie, cast is fitting right in with the fun too.
Have a great time.
xoxo 🙂
Congrats to Katie. Oh my, I know you are having a blast with those buddies!! I have several different kinds of markers and I’m not sure if I’ll get these or not. As Susan K said, the budget only stretches so far. Have a super Saturday!!
I will probably get all of them because they are in colors I have been using often. Looking forward to a class to to try them out first.
YAY KATIE ! Enjoy your winnings !
I am still thrilled that SU has matched their colors with these markers .
Have FUN,Susan…. I want to see your SHOEBOX SWAP project as well as the others …. that would be fun to see !
Hey everybody at Ramsey`s !
When they are available for us to buy, I want to get the whole set!
Thank you for another chance to win, Susan! I will pick and choose several color families that will coordinate with the Blendabilities which I previously purchased (just have a few of those). And I will most likely invest in the single markers (bronze and ivory and the color lifter) as well. I am very happy that the alcohol markers are coming back and will enjoy teaching my customers how to use these fabulous new coloring tools as I re-learn some techniques myself. Janice
Sounds like you are having a wonderful time this weekend with the girls. I am hoping you post a picture of you all!!
What a lovely thing to do giving free shipping during your birthday time!!!!
I don’t think I can just order some of the blending colors…..i need them all ?
I would love to have an entire set, but being realistic, I will probably get some warm colors of pink, orange, red and yellow. Even then I will check my fun budget and see what it allows. Have fun with your gal friends and your shoe box swap. Sounds interesting.
Congrats to Katie! I will try a few colors that I normally use first. Sounds like a party is happening in Annapolis….hey ladies! Enjoy yourselves and happy stamping.
I’d love the whole set but will probably simply pick and choose my colors.
I will choose color families, as some of the colors I just don’t use very often. Thanks for a chance to play!
Pick and choose as I still have some old blendabilities from Stampin Up
I will pick and choose based on the colors I use the most.
I have quite a few of the Blendabilities still so not sure! Maybe the colors I didn’t get last time! BTW the outlines on these envelopes are stunning! I assume you added it with tear & tape?
I didn’t purchase the Blendabilities and am glad I didn’t make the investment. I am a bit hesitant to purchase in case the same thing happens again. It would be nice if they would offer a nice incentive to purchase. Then the decision would be one or all. There goes the budget.
Enjoy your girls retreat.
Well, I am going to comment because I would love to win an ink pad. But you probably will not like my comment. I don’t plan to either pick and choose OR buy the whole set. I have markers out the wazoo, colored pencils, watercolor pencils, sharpies, Tombows, you name it and I probably have it. Except for alcohol markers. I drew the line when they came out and I just can’t justify buying more coloring options. I don’t sell my cards and my personal thought is, if I send a person a card it is because I like them and care about them and I have done the best on it that I am able to do with the products I have. That’s good enough for me and hopefully will be good enough for them as well. I am not trying to be rude, but it’s gotten to where I have to say no. I certainly am not trying to foist my opinion on anyone else, and I totally support those who choose to buy the new markers. It just won’t be me.
You go, Tonilea! I support you even if yours isn’t the popular answer. If you are happy with what you have then why go to something new? Just because it is the latest thing? That’s silly. I got into alcohol markers because I was tired of pencils all the time and didn’t like Tombow style markers (too streaky). But you know what you just cannot interest me in no matter how hard you try? New inks. What the heck, every time we turn around there is a new brand or style on the market. Who cares? LOL! Luckily SU isn’t into every kind of ink on the planet. No, SU just comes out with yet one more floral stamp set! And we all need it (purchased with the money we saved not buying inks and alcohol markers). Ah life…
Oh PJ (Princess Judy) I love my watercolor pencils. But, with the amount of pigs I have colored and moose faces, my early espresso and calypso corral pencils are down so I had at least splurged and bought the calypso corral blends so my piggies can look their best! I also bought a couple more as I saw Mary Fish’s gorgeous card today with the leaves on the wood look paper and I want to CASE that card badly! The rest will just have to wait. I love making the holiday cards so I am already in trouble with the holiday mini catalog. I did get the old olive blends to go with some of the holiday papers too. I had to celebrate as I just had my first customer order. Plus, she still wants to take advantage of the paper special before the end of the month!
It would be great to have the whole set, but I will pick and choose based on the colors that I use the most. Thanks for the chance to win some awesome blog candy.
I think I would probably pick & choose some of the colors I like or would use the most until I decide if they are something that I would use. I am not a big colorer……am never too pleased with my finished product.
Since I already have a stupid amount of Copics and now all the Blends, it is hard for me to say what colors I would pick first…. My first Copics were a light light blue for shading and outlining and a flesh color for skin. The Blends I’m looking forward to playing with first are the Old Olives ones. What I like best about the Blends is the matchy matchy thing. I have a few Copics that I know are close to an SU color but this is better!
The whole set of course! You are ao generous 🙂 Happy birthday!!
Hi Susan! I will definitely have to get the entire set! How can I pick just a few?? 😉 Happy Birthday, a little early!! Thanks!
Susan I have subscribed to your blog for at least two years….for the past month I have not been receiving them via my email.. Any suggestions?
