Hi all and Happy Hump Day! I have a card that will make many of you say. that is one great card! I knew that I was going to like this new bundle of a FREEBIE….but after playing with it…I can easily and honestly change the like to LOVE!
I do not think it takes a Rocket Scientist to explain the LOVE for this bundle as the focal basket stamp is beautifully drawn, the sentiments and fonts are sweet, clean and fresh and the embossing folder….an easy WOW! This bundle will be available starting on Friday as a FREEBIE for Sale-A-Bration with a 100+ order.
Below you will see the images from the stamp set. When I open up a stamp set I always like to condition the stamp, make a stamped image sheet (this helps me know the feel of the stamp) as I think you all “get it” as every stamp can stamp a bit differently. I tuck this piece of stamped images inside the cover of my stamp set…making it easy for me to view it when I use it in the future.
There is really nothing hard at all about this card….as it is super straight forward using the “keeper classic tools” to create a super simple card. You know I say this all the time….getting the basic tools IS the way to go when you are creating as if you have the basics….things just come together….you can wait for the extra fru-fru’s!
The shape of this basket just took me to the size of a card that I adore, a 4 1/4″ Square! I just adore square cards and if you do not want to make your own envelope to fit it perfectly (it will require additional postage as all square cards do) you can simply put it in one of our regular A-2 envelopes and you are good to go with a regular stamp!
I pulled out my Stampin’ Blends and just chose 3 color families to use, Old Olive, Pink Pirouette and Daffodil Delight. It was as simple as putting down the light color and then going back over where there are lines in the images….and swiping the dark color of the same color family. Nothing to it….these are a coloring dream machine!
Don’t you think this Spring Basket would be a perfect Easter Card? Really I think that you could stamp just about any sentiment (a Birthday, a Thinking of You, A Sympathy etc…) anything would go, that is why this stamp set is a keeper. For the inside of this sample, I chose to stamp the sentiment “You are loved” with the butterfly flying up!
I wish that this card was in your hands to see how using 2 different ribbon accents on the basket….it is super cute (if I must say so myself) under the white small bow I added several threads of the Linen Ribbon…just a PERFECT little extra accent to showcase some additional dimension.
Another thing that I did with this card that take literally no time with a fun accent is that I scored on all 4 sides to the edge of the stamped image. Doing this simple scoring always adds a touch that will always be noticed! Don’t be afraid to pull out simple tricks – they do make a difference.
Now to the image that will make all of us say…..I WANT THIS! Well….let me tell you – YOU can get it and get it for FREE along with the stamp set with an order of 100+ starting on Friday when there will be some more kids on the Sale-A-Bration block…CLICK HERE to see the post that I did showcasing the newbies!
This embossing folder is a dynamic one….meaning that there is extra depth, extra detail that comes to life with a run through the Big Shot. Here is a tip that works so well when using embossing folders like this…spray a mist of water on your paper before you put it in the folder…it helps soften the fibers to make the WOW even stronger!
Look at the depth of this folder on the Crumb Cake shown below. I just had to show you a picture of the detail as I realize that it is hard to see in the pictures with the basket. Trust me, when it is in your hand you will see the little bit sticking out and you say WOW….where did that come from! It is just beautiful!
Well…there you go – a little sunshine and inspiration for your Valentines Day! I hope that your heart is filled with love on this “heart day” Today is also Ash Wednesday marking the 1st day of Lent……it is hard to believe that Easter will be here in 40 days!
I know by seeing a basket of Spring glory will bring a smile to you! I just love simplicity like this…right up my simple alley!
Have a wonderful day….my sweet little swine is getting some Strawberries from her Mama today…..my girl just love strawberries and heck – what do you get a pig for Valentines…….Strawberries work for me and it will be lip smacking good for her!
This is a beautiful card, Susan. I love your coloring, the two types of ribbons, the basketweave EF on the envelope and the pretty basket of flowers on a square card. So pretty. Gives me hope that spring will be coming along soon. Happy Valentine’s Day to you!
This basket weave embossing folder is special. Love how you added it to the envelope. Your sweet card deserves the gold medal! I love the basket as a square card.
Hi Susan,
Happy Valentine’s Day to you and your family.
I love the square card and the soft colors. This really is a perfect card, IMO, in colors, size, coloring, lay-out and proportions. Love it all!
🙂 <3
LOVIN’ THAT EMBOSSING FOLDER. HOPE THEY SELL IT SEPARATELY IN THE NEXT CATALOG…GREAT JOB, SUSAN. HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!
Beautiful card, Susan! I love this bundle – don’t have it yet – but I will definitely be ordering this one. Your color choices are soft and lovely.
Love this card… you always create such beautiful cards.. love the colors and the simplicty … just lovely. Thank you.
As Lawrence Welk would say, “Wonderful, Wonderful!” I just saw an ad on TV for something about him and it stuck in my mind when I saw this wonderful beauty! As a perk of a demo we can order this still today, but we have to pay for it instead of getting it free for SAB. There is a good chance I won’t have a qualifying order so I am splurging and getting me my own valentine treat – this bundle!
Susan, I can’t decide which is my favorite treatment on this card, the ribbon plus linen thread is such a great treat, the scoring of course is always a smile getter, your soft coloring is wonderful as well and I love the coordinating mat as well as that gorgeous envelope. I can just see postal people running their fingers over it admiring the texture. The other day we had the substitute mail lady and she saw Teddy and I walking. She told me I had a keeper coming in my mail box! I was dying of curiosity until she brought the mail. (our block was still in the jeep when we saw her) It was a thank you card from a friend and she had used a heart EF on the envelope. Anyway, I just think it is cute when she notices things like that.
Anyway, give Daisy a chuck under the chin with her strawberries. Hugs!
A tisket, a tasket….what a beautiful basket! I love the EF basket weave and the colors are so perfectly “blended.” Very lovely! Happy Valentine’s Day to you, your fam and fur fam!
BEAUTIFUL card Susan!!!
Did your husband ever get his alpacas or llamas (can’t remember which critter it was)?????? Great card!
