Clean and Simple Wreath…

IMG_1566

This
card is a “less is best” kind of card that will certainly touch the heart of
the recipient! A CAS (clean & simple) at it’s best!

You
know that I adore and often post cards using the “Note Card” size often (page
162)
…They come in the Whisper White and now the envelopes come in Crumb Cake
but today I wanted Very Vanilla!

Isn’t
it always so true that we want something that they simply do not make!?!?
Well
– with the help of some Stampin’ Up! Tools we can make them ourself! The
Stampin’ Trimmer and the Diagonal Scoring Plate was all that I needed!

This
super sweet card is a cinch to make and I used the help of something I have yet
to use…the Shaker Frames! I used this as not only my “template” for my wreath
but I also loved the “lift” it gives!

Shaker Frames

TIP
ALERT!!!
Don’t stress yourself out trying to stamp in the center of the Shaker
Frame
…simply stamp your image on a scrap of Very Vanilla Paper and then POP it
out using a circle punch or pull out Mr. Big Shot and grab the super easy
circle framelits and PRESTO…it will fit perfectly behind your shaker frame!

I
used Soft Suede Ink and the sentiment is from the Blooming with Kindness Stamp
Set
. We have many sentiments that would be perfect for a circle…I just thought
this was super sweet!

Blooming With Kindness Clear-Mount Stamp Set

Using
a piece of Very Vanilla just a “smidge” smaller than my 3 ½ “ X 5” Note Card…I
soften the edges with the 3 /16" corner rounder and then also scored 2 notches in each
side with the simply scoring tool – (I love the simple yet classic effect it
gives)

IMG_1589

Now
its time to put the shaker frame and sentiment on the front and pull out the
linen thread to make your wreath! I did add a bit of Tombow Glue to the top
just to give it a bit more “stick” TIP ALERT!!! Go easy with this glue…it is
super strong but you really do not need much at all!

Linen Thread

Next,
using a Neutral Button that I had from last year (I love the heart shape) I threaded
the linen thread and made a simple bow and with the help of a mini glue dot…we’re
done!!!

Making
your own envelopes is easy-peasy and click here to get the BEST envelope making
chart! My upline, Mary Fish generously shares her talent and I must say…I have
this laminated as I use it often – I just love odd shaped cards!

IMG_1565

Starting
with a 6 ¾” square and using the Diagonal Scoring Plate, I scored 2 sides at 3
¾” and the other 2 sides at 2 5/8” …cut the little notches out…add some sticky
strip
(I highly recommend using this as it is super strong) and presto…you have
your own “note card” envelope!

The
liner is from the Soho Subway Designer Series Paper and a simple cut of the
width…use the 2-way glue pen to hold and trim off the excess – and here is one
beautiful envelope!

Soho Subway Designer Series Paper

I
am so glad that I reached out of my comfort zone and used these shaker frames.
Not only does this make a super sweet card but also it is a card that can be
used for many occasions!

Tomorrow

tomorrow is a sketch challenge and it is a fun layout! Please pop back and see

Winter Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper

  • Pulling from the coordinating colors that compliment this DSP, I chose Island Indigo in the standard A2 card size but scored it on top!
  • Pulling out the simply "must have" trimmer, the Stampin' Trimmer, I cut a 1" piece off the right side of the card! This trimmer makes doing cuts like this a breeze!

IMG_1554

  • Inking up the snowflakes from the Festive Flurry Stamp Set in Island Indigo, Bermuda Bay, and Pool Party I then used the coordinating Framelits to make a clean and precise cut with the help of Mr. Big Shot– TIP ALERT!!! – the links that I have just given you are for the Bundles…why??? = simple  =  why not…you'll save 15%!!!

Festive Flurry Clear-Mount Bundle

Snow Day Clear-mount Stamp Set

  • I adhered the bigger snowflake 1st and then using Stampin Dimensionals, I POPPED the 2 smaller ones before popping this whole white piece onto the card base!

IMG_1560

  •  A finishing touch to the snowflakes were the Candy Dots from the Regal and Brights Collection – these little guys are addictive to use…simply love them!
  • I added a piece of Whisper White to the inside and also tucked in 2 more snowflakes…you know the inside needs TLC as well!!!

IMG_1557

  • The envelope …one of my all time favorites to do is super cute with stamping the front and also lining with the help of the must have Envelope Liner Framelits Dies!

“I Scream for Ice-Cream…”

IMG_1543

Does this make you feel like having a big old' Ice Cream Cone! This is one of the cards that we assembled for the Breast Cancer patients this month….I thought the sentiment was a perfect and uplifting message! I am sure you have seen many versions of this type of card…but this is my take on it!

Not not only is this cute…it is super fun and what a cinch to make! I asked me dear daughter some "color guidance" for this one and she looked at me and said "How many scoops" – after I answered her she looked at me with that priceless look your child can give you and say….."well that a no-brainer"!!!

Vanilla, Chocolate and Strawberry…

Needless to say, I cracked up laughing and  simply said will do!!! So here you go! You know me….trying to think out of the box – with this card you could change up the sentiment for a birthday…a get well…(wouldn't it be perfect for someone getting their tonsils or wisdom teeth out) – you could "tuck in" a gift card….ideas are endless and fun!

Here's the scoop for me to enable you today! Remember, you can click here to order any of these products and also remember that every highlighted product will allow you to see the details of that specific product! Click on the picture (on the edges) to make it BIGGER so you can enjoy the details!

  • The colors of today are….Pool Party, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Strawberry Slush and Chocolate Chip – sounds yummy!!! Oops..real red for the cherry!
  • The "key tool" to making this is the Cupcake Builder! This super fun punch can make soooo make fun ideas…just google it and sit back and enjoy!

Cupcake Punch

  • The "cone" was a simple POP using the Petite Pennants Builder Punch! ( you could also score or use an embossing folder to add textue to your cone…but this was super easy!)
  • The sentiment I choose is a carry-over from last year….and it's a winner. Perfectly Penned has 4 great sentiments that can be used for many cards – The thing I adore about it is how the font is "swirly" …always brings a WOW factor to a card!

IMG_1547

Perfectly Penned - Clear-Mount Stamp

  • The other highlight of this card is a simple yet fun and useful Framelit….the Labels Collection…I just LOVE all of the framelits and it is HANDS DOWN a tool that you need! We now have sooooo many of them and they truly make a great and effective accent!
  • Labels Collection Framelits Dies
  • The accent that I realize is an additional step but the end result creates a wow…is using the Paper-Piercing Tool and the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack creates a depth that does make a difference! I know…I know…one more think to do – but just look at the impact it makes!

IMG_1549

I hope that this post makes you want to go to your favorite Ice Cream Shop or better yet….sneak to the local grocery store and get a great Ben & Jerry's….the rest is history!

IMG_1550

Tomorrow is the PALS BLOG HOP…and it is showcasing the new Holiday catalog showing the favorites of 30 Stampin' Up! Stampin' Pretty Demonstrators! Please pop in and be inspired!

Email me if I can help you and until tommorrow….

“A Harvest of Thanks”

IMG_1522

This card makes me happy as it is a true "Susan" style card…one that I like to say that it is a CAS card

( Clean And Simple)

I hope that you look at this design and let your imagination go with how many different cards you can make using this CAS layout!

We have sooooo many wonderful sentiment stamps that are just perfect for this style of card. I always try to remember advice that my upline, Mary Fish, said….when you are on the fence of which stamp set to purchase….go with the sentiment!

I can clearly remember her saying that on a call and thought….really??? That's not how I felt…but it is true and this is one way that I have grown this past year developing my style. We always have ways to embellish a card…let the "sentiment" speak for itself! This is so true and I think this card is a great example of just that!

Stampin' Up! continues to pave the way for all of us in making beautiful cards with not only amazing stamps…but with amazing tools that are both practical and easy to use…this card shows it with the use of the Big Shot, framelits, our beautiful paper and our wonderful stamps!

Here is the scoop….enjoy and play around with this layout and come up with some great cards! Please email me pictures of your work….I always love to see it!

IMG_1521

  • The base is the good old A2 card stock in Whisper White and then a smidge smaller in Crushed Curry….love that color!!!!
  • Take a piece of scrap Whisper White and stamp the THANKS image from the new stamp set, Harvest of Thanks in Night of Navy and then run it through the Big Shot using the Labels Collection Framelits…simple!

Harvest Of Thanks Clear-mount Stamp Set

Eastern Elegance Designer Series Paper

  • Presto! I now adhere using a bunch of my stampin' vitamins, stampin dimensionals and mount my designer series paper….then I center my stamped image! Too cute…right?

IMG_1524

  • The envelope just was jazzed up using the same paper on the outside flap of the envelope…so simple, yet elegant!

So….I ask you – What do you think? Do you think you could do this….OF COURSE you can!!! Please feel free to email me your ideas of other great sentiments that we have or simple leave me a comment on how you like it!

IMG_1525

Remember….a simple click here will allow you to order any of these products and the best thing is…they will be delivered right to your door!

It's summer time and we all like Ice Cream….please pop back tomorrow for a super cute Ice Cream Card…..it's a keeper!

Thanks for popping in and have a great day…Until tomorrow….

A simple “L O V E” card…..

IMG_1531

Everyone
can use a special “L O V E “ card…and this fun card will continue to let
Matthew know that we love him and are thinking of him and his family!

This
card is really straightforward but here is the scoop that you all love!

  • The Card base is your good old stand by….A2 card size of 5 ½” X 4 ¼”! I
also used another piece of White cut a smidge smaller to work off of as the
    “lifted base”
  • I punched out each of the letters with the retired 1 ¼” square
punch…but if you do not have that…your trimmer will do the trick easily!

IMG_1532

  • Using a scrap piece of black card stock, I made a vertical base to
highlight the fun and bright letters! Just “eye ball” it and lightly mount them
to get them on the perfect spot before you give the final “push”
  • To jazz up the “O”…I thought a white Button from the Neutrals Button
    Collection
would be a fun touch and add dimension! Threading the Real Red 1/4”
Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon was the perfect choice and using the mini glue dots
makes it easy-peasy to hold tight!
  • Before adhering this to the white base – I thought it needed a bit of fun
so out came my main man….Mr. Big Shot and his help from the Tasteful Trim Bigz
    XL Die
to create the fun Real Red Rick-rack!
  • This Rick Rack is another SUPER DUPER way to use up scraps of paper!
Sometimes I go crazy with odds and ends of scraps and making cuts with this die
is always a lifesaver to jazz up a card! The adhesive I always use to adhere
the rickrack is the 2-way pen! I Just love that adhesive!

IMG_1535

  • Adding some stampin’ dimensions to the back of this base and then
mounting it to the card base and DONE – one cute card made with “LOVE”!!!

IMG_1533

  • The front needed a bit of love as well! This “xoxoxox” stamp came from
the Holiday catalog Oh,Goodie Stamp Set and with the help of the Stamp-a-ma-jig
the placement was a cinch and the effect is great!

I
was on the fence for a long time before I purchased this Morning Post Alphabet
Stamp Set
probably because I thought it was a bit pricy but I am glad that I
did! I find that I use it often for a initials for simple thank you’s and it is
great to spell out short words like “love, wow, joy” etc…

Morning Post Alphabet Clear-Mount Stamp Set

Sometimes
you just need to think out of the box and let your imagination guide you…this
is just what I did with this card today!
