Thank you for joining us for the Pals Halloween Blog Hop. We hope
you enjoy our virtual trick-or treat hop where you will either learn
great tricks for your creative projects or enjoy a blog candy treat.
This is one of most favorite times each month, the PALS hop…make sure you read to the end to see the TREAT I have for you! Leave me comment on your favorite Halloween Costume you remember wearing…and on Thursdays post, I will announce the lucky BLOG CANDY winner!
You should have just left stop number 21 on the Pals Hop – Katy McGloin at Just Fun Stamping. If so, you are in the right spot.
If you get off track, the full blog lineup below will help you move along
from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.
Let's get to this fun, clean and simple card…
If you send out lots of cards or make treats to give to family and friends…this is a great card to make multiple of using a minimal amount of product!
You will see that this card is a 4 1/2" square and when you get down to the Blog Candy at the bottom of the post, you will see that I also adapted the same theme to a 3" square.
- Starting out with a 9" X 4 1/2" piece of Whisper White and sore it at 4 1/2"
- Ready for keeping it simple….the Pumpkin Pie pieces are 2 5/8" an a 3 5/8" squares, the Whisper White is a 2 1/2" square and lastly the Designer Series paper from the Neutrals Designer Paper Pack is a 3 1/2" square.
- The Stamp Set is the Best of Halloween….is it super or what!!! Whenever I stamp in black I always use the Black StazOn Ink…always gives a clean and crisp image! I popped this piece of the card up with the Stampin' Vitamins….Stampin' Dimensionals!

Envelope time….I am going to spend a little more time today on the envelope as when it comes to making envelopes we have a couple of different options!
We all know that the Envelope Punch Board is the best thing that has come down the pike….and if you do not have it…it's easy – YOU NEED IT!
Today I did not use it…I wanted to show you that if you do not have it you can still make your own envelope with the help of the Simply Scored Diagonal Plate. Click here to see Mary Fish's great chart on making envelopes…I use it often and I would suggest that you print it off as you will refer to it!
Before I get to the simple how to's did you notice my smile for the mailman? I love to make their day as well…that is a hard job and they are a big part of what we do…..there's nothing like going to your mailbox and having a card in your mailbox for you!
A question I get asked often is…how do I do the outside of my envelopes? Easy…I just take a piece of Designer Series Paper ( be careful if it has a pattern to make the pattern nice and even)…I use the 2 way Glue Pen – adhere and then using the paper snips cut around!
Here is the end result…one great card! Did you notice the little "trio" dots I randomly placed on the card…my trademark – just love this little fun and simple trick!
Ready for the Blog Candy? I think it is something that everyone will love…items that I have made and I am sure that you will put them to great use!
Simply leave me a comment and also let's have fun with sharing some of our costumes we wore in the past…I will randomly pick a winner and announce it on Thursday posting…you have a lot of blogs to HOP AROUND to so I thought I would give you some extra time!

Have fun hopping around…I just love to see what everyone comes up with! Many thanks for popping onto my blog and please….come on back! I blog daily and would love to inspire you!
Now go hopping….and until tomorrow!

Cute card. It would be quick to make a bunch of them!
A costume I wore that actually won me a prize in college was a grape. Not a bunch of grapes, I was one single grape. My mother came up with the costume and it was designed to do a “trick” because our family had been invited to a costume party. The invitation stated that you must do a “trick” with/by/as part of your costume. We filled a bulb syringe with grape juice, attached a piece of tubing to the end of the syringe, which then was threaded through the inside of a pocket to a hole in the belly of the costume. When I was squeezed, I produced grape juice! All my mother’s idea!!!
Susan, you can make even Halloween an elegant occasion! Love the card!! The hat reminds me of Harry Potter! 🙂
Great Halloween card, love your signature “trio” dots.
I love the simplicity of this one and it is great for an adult or a child!! Thanks again!!
So cute. My Halloween costume for the past 7 years has been a chef. I got the chef top at a garage sale and the hat on eBay, then I add a mixing bowl and spoon.
This card is adorable …. I also think the hat reminds me of the sorting hat from Harry Potter ….
My most favorite costume was one I made for my son … he was a hobo one year … fairly easy to be … dressed him up in some of his dad’s clothes … got him a stick and a hankie … put some crumpled up newspaper in the hankie … and tied it to the stick … then I put some petroleum jelly on his face and put coffee grounds on the petroleum jelly and he looked like he had a 5 o’clock shadow … it was awesome … He won a prize for having the best costume in school that year … and even though I couldn’t afford a costume for him … we made do the best we could with what we had …
My favorite costume was in 1st grade- my mom made it and I was a purple crayon. I loved that she always made my costumes! Thanks for the inspiration!
Reading Pam’s comment above reminded me of the time three co-workers and I dressed as a BOX of Crayons (I was green)! The box was a bit hard to get over all 4 of us, but what a blast!
Isn’t Halloween fun. When we were younger we went to costume party dressed as head hunters. Wild wig, potatoe sack for dress, clip ring earring in the nose and holding spear. Black lines on face. I could never stand the rubber masks. Not scarey…We just had great times.
Great projects! They are just too fun!! Lovin your blog too!! 🙂 I had alot of costumes but don’t really remember one particular one.
Awesome projects!! We always had “homemade” costumes: a witch, hippie, bum, old lady. They were so much more fun than the store bought costumes!!
So simple, yet elegant Halloween card. My favorite costume was when my whole family dressed as California Raisins on a cruise. We made purple tubes that we filled with balloons, wore black tights, black turtlenecks, big white work gloves and big plastic glasses. Played “Heard it through the Grapevine” as we all walked on stage!
Love your card, Susan! The only memory I have of dressing up for Halloween was HOBOS. I do remember those awful plastic masks but have no idea what the costume was, just hating those masks! lol
Love everything about your card – my favorite Halloween stamp is the hat that you used. Love that your card is so clean and simple – that really speaks to me !
A trademark on your cards? What an awesome idea!!!
My favorite Halloween costume was actually one my daughter did one year. She was about 10 years old and I was working as a realtor. She decided to be ME for Halloween, she dressed up and used my briefcase to collect her candy. It made me feel so loved. 🙂
My favorite costume was when I dressed as a cat! I love the clean and simple look of your designs as usual!
LOVE the card! I’m one of those who doesn’t like the “scary” things of Halloween, but this one is just the right mix of fun with a bit of scary. Your items for the blog candy are simply gorgeous!! Thanks for sharing your talent, Cindy
Whoops – forgot to mention my favorite costume!! I liked the witch costume my aunt made for me – comfortable and warm! Thanks again, Cindy
Thank you for your tricks and a chance to win a treat!!!
I absolutely love your card! So elegant and simple for a fun holiday…thanks so much for sharing. One of my favorite costumes was when I was Harpo Marx…never said a word at the party we were at…just honked my horn (hubby liked that a lot!).
My favorite is the Winnie the Pooh Costume I wore 2 years ago while teaching at School. The children loved it and so did I!!
Your cards are clean, simple and look fun to make. Thanks for sharing!
Wow Susan – I so love all of your cards and projects and you amaze me on a daily basis. I love your blog candy projects. The card box or tote looks amazing and I wonder if that pretty petal cone holds a yummy treat!!!! Your card is very cute and simple enough for me to make several. I have used the witches hat more than any stamp in that set so I think I am addicted to it. I wish there was a punch for it so it would save on these awful arthritic hands. I fussy cut a lot of them out and so worth the effort. And, I love the dots in the corners too! Great option as I have already run out of the black candy dots. I hope SU comes out with all different shapes and sizes of the candy dots. Thanks for sharing with us Susan!
Great Halloween projects! I don’t have a favorite costume memoy of my own, but do remember dressing up my little brother as a bride! He was so cute!!
I love all that you do and I really like the ‘simple’ Halloween card with your color combo. Thhe only store bought costume I had, as we always made our own, was of a skeleton, of all things. It had a hard, plastic, white mask with elastic strings to keep it on tight. I liked the home made gypsy year the best!
I love this card. It is so easy and simple. I love your “Susan Dots”. My favorite Halloween costume was being a nun, a Dominican. We (sisters) used to play school all the time and this was a costume we got a lot of use out of. 🙂 (How nice to remember that.)
Such cute projects! My favorite costume was always the princess ones!
Just love how all your envelopes have matching or coordinating papers. And again, I do love your signature “trio” dots. My mailman also loves receiving a card for her. She certainly takes many out for mailing.
Just love how all your envelopes match your cards! Also love your “trio” dots. My mailman also loves to get a card in the mailbox for her. She certainly takes a good number out for delivery.
Love the awesome Halloween card and matching envelope. The witch’s hat is just super and makes it all special. Your blog candy is fantastic!
Do not remember any super costumes, but my favorite memory is when my oldest son was very young he was dressed up as a little artist, had my beret, a Sesame art apron and a paintbrush that was longer than his hand. He looked so cute. And he still loves to paint and can do some amazing paintings.
Thanks for sharing your Halloween crafts with us.
CAS perfection!
I love that hat stamp! Reminds me of being a witch for Halloween as I am sure just about everyone was at one point in their life. However, that was not my favorite costume. My mom would make our costumes every year as it was her favorite holiday. My favorite costume was Mary Poppins…I rocked it with the umbrella!!! We would always have all the neighborhood kids back to our house after trick or treating and have a party and exchange candy. So much fun!
Love your cards and ideas. Thanks for sharing.
Very cute and thanks for the tips. hugs
I love your card and projects! One thing we always talk about at Halloween is how many times my sister and I went as gypsies as kids! It was fun for us b/c we got to raid Mom’s closest. And as a mom of 3, I now appreciate the ‘no cost’ factor! Ha
Every Halloween is memorable for me as my birthday is the next day. I decorate the house and make sure I spend time with family on Halloween. I usually dress as Minnie Mouse as we have had several family reunions at Disneyland, so the grandkids can have great memories every Halloween too.
Cute card! Great blog hop! And great candy! Thanks for the chance to win!
I really like your projects. I see them a lot on your blog. Keep up the good work!
I remember my costume was Little Bo Peep; I wore this long white dress that had a hoop in the hem and every time I walked and pulled my toy sheep the bottom of the dress would shift to one side and flip up. Needless to say I didn’t make much progress going from house to house – especially since the toy sheep kept falling over. What a sight I must have been.
Great Halloween card, I love following your projects each day.
My favorite costume was a princess. I wore the same lavender bridesmaid dress my mother’s maid of honor wore for my parents wedding!
Love the cards – simple but pack a punch! I hesitated to get this stamp set because I wasn’t really sure how to use it – now I see the possibilities – they’re great! When my son was growing up, I made all his customes – a spaceman, a gold power ranger, a gold Bettle Borg, and Link from Legends of Zelda. And the one that I wore as an adult when I was a teaching assistant – I was a CNN reporter – I had a vest that had all the pockets – copied a CNN logo and put “Staff Reporter” in the pocket and hung my camera around my neck – everyone thought that’s what I did before that job!
Love the card! All of our costumes were homemade. I like when I was dressed as a gypsy.
I love the note cards especially. I think what I’ve learned the most from you are the cute little accents you make with a pen around the stamped images to make them pop. Thanks for the tip.
Awesome project! Love all you do, thank you for sharing!
Thought I commented this morning. I wonder where I posted it? I liked playing being a nun. My sisters and I together. Love your card especially the “Susan Dots”
Very cute card Susan…my favorite costume was” sugar and spice”..my brother was “snips, snails & puppy dog tails”. My mom made them for us.
Totally love the little card! Look at all that loot! Totally love the envelope! I am totally tired and going to bed – I will have to enjoy the hop tomorrow night. Costume, I really had a hard time with that. I remember one time I just went to a party and announced I was dressed as myself and that nobody would know me. I had some strange looks but I had fun. Of course I wasn’t the one that had my tail catch fire brushing by a candle, another couldn’t get out of her costume fast enough and peed in her costume. My mom and dad liked to dress up for parties but I really can’t remember what they dressed me up as a kid. Must have been quite a memorable costume huh?
Thanks for sharing your cute ideas with us! My favorite Halloween costume was a pumpkin with a carved out face on it. My neighbor ladies and I made 10 pumpkin costumes for 5 couples who lived on our block and we all went out trick-or-treating after the kids were done coming to our doors!
Hi Susan:
Really like this card. Easy to case and make the same card for the grandkids.
My nephew & niece had a Halloween party at their home for all of my brothers & sisters & spouses – my husband and I wore “SUMO WRESTLER” COSTUMES. We took 2 place prize. My twin brother was dressed as “Rapunzel” and took 1st place. Fun night. Lot of laughs. We also wore the Sumo Wrestler costumes to the bowling alley the following week.
Thanks for sharing – love your Blog Candy items.
Take care
My favorite costume was the year I dressed up as a bag of M&M’s. I took a big black trash bag, cut out slits for my head and arms, and used white paper to cut out the M&M’s logo and taped it to my bag. I even carried a pumpkin filled with mini bags of M&M’s to give out. Easy, cheap and fun!
Love these CAS cards and would be a great treat for any one. Funny, I can’t remember my own Halloween costumes growing up, but my favorites that I made for my son wash a Wicket the Ewok and and ET costume.
An ice cube
Cookie Monster
love this card!! so simple and stunning!!! thanks for sharing!!!I have worn a lot of costumes, but I think I am most excited to dress up this year with my daughters, (3 and 1) we are all going to be Disney princesses while my husband will be prince charming…I think he is less excited!! ha ha ha…thanks for sharing!!
brenna
Very cute card. And thanks for sharing how to make the envelope. One of my favorite costumes was when my husband & I were dating…for his company Halloween party we dressed up as a hunter & a deer, with me being the hunter!
Love the card. My favorite was making Halloween costumes for my kiddos, all grown up now.
I love your projects. So creative and cute. My favorite costume was being a princess. Who doesn’t like dressing up and acting like a princess?! ?
Thank you – I love your website and get so many ideas from you.
I have a twin and when we were little our mom would sew for us. One cold October she decided to be practical and sewed cardboard footprints to the bottom of our flannel pj’s with feet in them.
Foe Halloween I was ‘Wee Winnie Whinky” [spelling?] Running Through The Town! I carried a candle stick and a pillow case for candy. My “shadow” was at my side. Simple,
Lynn
My favorite costume was Big Bird! I hope to make some great costumes for my kids now! Love your card as usual!
Love the simple elegance of your cards. Absolutely beautiful. My mom always made our costumes, my favorite was Raggedy Ann. She even made me a wig of red yarn.
Love the card. The hat is great.
A cute costume I dressed my daughter in was a skunk. The neighbors loved it.
Great card! Love the colors. I had to dress up when teaching and one year made a pumpkin costume. All the teachers went to lunch after school wearing their costumes! Quite funny (and a bit awkward)!
love this CAS card! it really packs a punch against the white space.
hugs, m
Love the clean and simple look of your card. My costume would be the Cowardly Lion from the Wizard of Oz. I made it for a float I was on in college and then used it as a Halloween costume after that. Thanks for sharing.
To All: So sorry I never saw the “more comments” button. At least I know I’m not going “batty”!
Susan, you truly have a gift for paper crafting! I so enjoy seeing your creations and I thank you for the inspiration.
Your Halloween Projects are so cute! I just love that Witch Hat stamp! I also think your pictures are fantastic!
Hugs
