A week from today is the big day of Christmas! Unreal that this calendar has been buzzin' by so fast but this is a special time of the year for many, many reasons! We all have different memories…I truly wish that we could all be together and have one big chat session and hear all of the memories and stories each of us have!
As I am typing this post, I looked at John (who is doing great – last week he received the green light to start driving – progressing amazingly with his physical therapy – so proud of his patience, positive attitude and dedication) and I said to him…this time next week it will be Christmas Eve!!!!
We had a great chat of how it will be great to have the children all home again and Hannah will be the 1st to make the trek back to Maryland! The next thing we talked about was great memories of the holidays and the checking the list….making sure that Santa ate some cookies and spilled a bit of milk…..and then as we would try to fall asleep awaiting for the big day….we would always say…."Do we have batteries!!!!"
To all of the parents out there…you know what I mean but today – most things are all electronics but I would never let go of the memories of putting things together, reading instructions….see the ultimate joy in the children's eyes!
Ok…time to hop off of "memory lane" and get to this clean and simple card! We all know…we will need to send notes of thanks to family and friends!
This is a "Susan" card all the way around as it comes together super fast…can be "dressed up" or "super simple" and it is using some of my favorite things and techniques!
The card size is my favorite note card size, finished size, 3 1/2" X 5" and Stampin Up! has the envelopes in this size…I say WOOT-WOOT – I go thru this size in both the Crumb Cake and Whisper White….such a quick and easy size!
Using the Water Color Paper, I stamped this great little gift using the Black Staz On ink….(the ONLY way to go when you are watercoloring….one of my all time favorite techniques to do!!!) I feel like an artist just having the Aqua Painters in my hand…so much fun and soooo relaxing!

I matted this piece on a slighly bigger piece of Cherry Cobbler Card Stock, 2 1/4" and then matted it again wth the super fun Polka Dot Parade Designer Series Paper ( this is 2 3/4" square). Do polka dots make you smile? This paper is always a "pick me up" to me!

I wanted to add a BIG statement with the Cherry Cobbler Stitched Ribbon so I thought I would take the plunge and use another piece of Crumb Cake to set it "up and off" the card base!!! This ribbon in itself is a WOW statement!
Isn't this a simple yet sweet card…one that anyone would love to receive! I played around with the envelope and decided to line the "back flap" to change it up a bit….and then stamped a simple "Thank You" from the Another Thank You Photopolymer Stamp Set ( a MUST to purchase if you do not have it) – trust me, you'll use it over and over!

CONFESSION TIME: – I never thought I would like these "clear stamp sets" but I am "eating my words" as I adore them….they are soooo easy to use!!!
That's it….so quick and easy….now I ask you….ARE YOU READY? I must admit I am not, but at the same time I am not trying to let it get to me as it simply is about family, friends, love and memories…I am so thankful to have my peeps home!
Something we have not shared much about….what are some favorite Holiday cookies in your home! I need to get to baking and we always have to have some of the all time favorites…Snicker-doodles, buck-eyes, Creme de Menthe Brownies….

Please leave a comment and give me some of your favorite yummies –
it will be fun to see what's cookin' in your home!
In this season of giving thanks…I thank each and every one of you that are so faithful and inspiring to me and my Stampin' Up! fun! I would love for you to be on this fun ride of inspiration with me….sounds like a perfect Christmas Gift!!!
Email me, I would live to talk about the fun and ese of being a demonstrator! Have a great "hump day" and enjoy the journey…..
Until tomorrow!

Cheerful card and easy to mail! I haven’t tried the note card size, but I think I should!
I make peppermint-swirl brownies for Christmas, an original recipe that my brother and I created over 30 years ago. I really need to make some this week! I brought a bottle of peppermint extract with me when we came back to France this summer. Thanks for the reminder!
Thanks for sharing your talent!
Cute card- I too am liking the notecard size. My favorite Christmas treat is homemade caramels. Yum! I also like buckeyes – being from Ohio our state tree is the buckeye tree and of course we are big Ohio State fans.
Hi Susan, So happy John is doing great. Nice card. Love the colors and the Susan Dots. My favorite cookie is the basic Toll House Chocolate Chip ones, not milk chocolate though. 🙂
Lovely card. I especially like the Cherry Cobbler ribbon accent. Where do you live in Maryland? I lived in the greater DC area for 17 years, 10 in Annapolis and 7 in Alexandria, VA.
I will have to try this notecard size! The card looks lovely and simple. Thanks for the inspiration! I do a lot of holiday baking but I must say that my favorites are Linzer Tarts and Chocolate Peppermint Pearl Cookies.
Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas. How great that you will all be together. We will also all be together this year ( it has been a few years since we were all together). Two are married, the other is engaged and we have a new 9 month old granddaughter. Should be a special time.
I make peanut butter balls that were a recipe of my husbands great aunt. They are a tradition and everyone loves them ( no cherries though!)
I love this card. So simple yet so pretty!!!
My Mom used to make the best cut out cookies and then I would frost them and decorate them. My Mom was the Best Baker ever! And I really miss her, so, no cookies for us! I would ruin a box mix! Although, I did just make my first Angel Food cake for my Husbands Birthday. I am proud to say I did well. My Mom used to make them for all our Birthdays and we got to pick the frosting. Mine was always whipped cream and slice strawberries or pineapple. Your snowman cookie is soooo adorable. Yum, Snicker Doodles! Thanks for sharing!
I’ve been meaning to purchase SU’s Note Cards for a few months now. It WILL be on my next order! Love this cute-n-adorable little Christmas Thank You card! 🙂
My favorite Christmas cookie is my Christmas Cranberry Noel Shortbread Cookie! Love them! It has Dried Cranberries and chopped pecans not to mention you can make them ahead of time and freeze your cookie dough logs up to 2 months! 🙂
Oh, Christmas goodies, I don’t make a whole lot now that it is just the two of us, but I always make my cutout sugar cookies, peppermint bark, and Christmas popcorn mix ( popcorn, M&M’s) and a Carmel type coating. Of course, if we have family with us or we go back east to visit family during Christmas, I bake up a storm and add candy also.
Love the card! My fav cookie is an Italian Bocconati….I made this with my mom growing up and now make it with my daughters (plus many other cookies – yum!)….it is filled with raspberry and chocolate and looks like mini bite size pies (crust is a light, flakey dough)…simply delish! Love reading about everyone’s favs…what a great way to share!
Our family’s favorite is Poor Man’s Cookies. Better known to some as hermits. Love these any time.
We call them “Rich Man’s Cookies.” Spices, nuts and raisins…yum!
Also really like making note card sized cards. Along with stamps and tied with a pretty ribbon,
they make a great gift.
Way to go John! That is a great gift this year to have him healthy and strong. I love todays card…so simple with a big bang of wow! I Love that ribbon. It is so soft and beautiful. Guess I will have to stock up on it before Dec. 31st.
My favorite cookies are peanut butter with hershey kisses and my daughter loves to make them for us. Every year we try out new recipes and I am going to have to make you some of this years cookie exchange choice as it was a big hit…peanut butter rice krispie balls dipped in chocolate. Yum!
I love this card! I think I am too tired to go look up which stamp you used for the this card, so just tell me please! I would love to make this card not only for thank you cards but maybe for birthday cards etc. I need to keep a bunch on hand and this would be fun to change up colors plus it is mailable! It is so crisp and clean and the colors are perfect. The ribbon is just the icing on those Christmas cut out cookies!
My favorite cookies would have to be peanut butter with a Hershey kiss in the center or a Brach’s chocolate star. Though, it is rare I would pass up any cookie! My favorite Christmas candy would have to be the “sponge” candy dipped in chocolate. My second favorite candy would be the little raspberry filled hard candies. But, I can’t seem to stop biting into them so I have not bought any for the last couple of years. I do love the peanut butter and chocolate Buckeyes even though we have to call them something else here since this is a Hawkeye house/state! Oh do you think Tonya would share her cookie recipe for those cranberry goodies?
Wishing you a wonderful holiday season!
Dear Susan, I am so glad that John is doing bette. Thank You Lord. I am so glad you will have your whole family with you. That is such a precious gift to treasure. My family is spread out and most of my family haas passed away. My daughter will be driving a coach for Christmas. I treasure family so very much.

My favorite cookie at this time of the year are the peanut butter with the chocolate hershey kiss on them. My daughter made all of my cookies this year it was a great treat. Kelly also made her famous cutout cookie and decorated them so nicely.
I would also love to have the recipe for the Christmas Cranberry Noel shortbread cookies from Tonya.
