Before today's post…many thanks for the kind comments so many of you left yesterday for a special day for many that are near to my heart. I wish Hannah was home as I know that she would have been so touched!
The 1st "Claire" Scholarship was a huge success and it was just "a wonderful and healthy day" The scholarships were given to (4) great riders, all girls from different areas of our country…California, New York, Georgia and Virginia!
This post is just plain fun and another one that is addictive to make….kinda like the tootsie pops….click here to see that post! I hope that you have as much fun making these as I do!
I have to share with you….I made over 125 of these for a "Caddyshack" Party for work and as people left, I had (2) Baby Ruths in them for a Party Favor….too darn cute!
Here is how you make them and I hope that you have fun!
- The size of the project is a 1/2 sheet of paper, 5 1/2" X 8 1/2"
- Using the Simply Scoring Tool, Scoring the long side (8 1/2")….score at 1 3/4", 3 1/2", 5" and 6 3/4"
- Turn the paper to the short side (5 1/2") and score at 1 1/2" & 4"
- Now don't stress here…simply fold in the sides at the score lines and then cut as you see in the picture below!
TIP ALERT: 2 things…..first – snip off a bit of the ends as it makes it easier to have a "clean" fold and use the small oval punch BEFORE you adhere your box….it just is easier!
- A simple "glue dot" is your friend and this is really fun to pull together! Fold up the sides as you see below! Please email me if you need help!
Now all you have to do is decorate (if you wish and tie a bow) and BAM – you are good to go….but don't forget to put a treat inside!
Now are you wondering why I called this Oh, Henry! Well…there is a candy bar named this, but the real reason is that Hannah's dear friend….Catherine – her horse's barn name is Henry and he is one great guy!
Catherine is one great girl and I like to treat her to some Oh, Henry! while she is in college missing him!
Catherine and her Mom (my dear friend) were with me for Claire's Scholorship….and we were all missing Hannah not being here but the picture below is a sight that the "Mom's" get to see often and our hearts are "pitter-patter" as they are dear and special friends to each other!
I hope that I have inspired you today and PLEASE go and make these! They are sooooo fun! I honestly cannot remember where I saw this idea but I was so excited this summer when it was PERFECT for the event at work!
Please remember….jammies shopping is fun! A simple click here will get you one your way! Thank you for taking YOUR time to pop by, please share my blog with your family and friends by subscribing to my Blog (right under the Holiday Catalog) and you will get a daily dose of me!
I leave you with the best of the comments that was from one of the riders that won….(my job was to interview the winners)…..this beautiful girl that was just 15 looked at Claire's Mom and said….
"Thank you for this opportunity and thank you for raising
such a great role model for us…"
My heart is happy…until tomorrow!

This is a keeper. Seems like the easiest one I have seen. I can see this used for many different occasions!
🙂
I have a work event soon and this would be perfect….I only have to make 18….bless your heart for making over 100 of them!!!! Thanks for the clear instructions too.
Great project and equally great instructions ! Thank you !
Love the pictures ….and how about a 15 year old saying such wonderful words !
Happy Saturday !
Love the cute box! And what a beautiful comment from such a young lady!
Just made one….super cute and EASY as you said!! 🙂
SO GRATEFUL for the measurements and diagrams/photographs!!!!! Thank you Susan for a darling project that I will definitely CASE.
Oh I have to give these a try today, how cute:)
Oh yes, I am going to have to try this but I am very doubtful it will be as cute as yours. Of course, with the amount you have made, yours would be perfect! Oh Henry’s are a great idea for her box. I sent my swap card to you last night. I hope it makes it in good time for you and hopefully Jeannie to go through. Of course I totally forgot to include my name and information since I was trying to get to the post office! I am going to have to get some of that DP even if I wait and use it next year. I hate when it takes that long to “grow” on me that I like it and need it.
