Let's have fun again seeing a stepped up version from yesterday's card but I must admit….I am saying YIKES – I hope that you like this as it is not the most glorious step up but if you had it in your hands….you would be smiling from ear to ear!
Before we get to the card today….I need to let you all know a secret…it's official –
I AM AN ADULT!
Are you saying WHAT?
Well…today is Hannah's 21st birthday...my red caboose is 21 so it is official…I am entering that phase of disbelief that everyone is "officially an adult" but I can say honestly, I am sooooo proud of all of my peeps! Age is one thing that never bothers me one bit…
Let's get to the card today and go over the slight differences but believe me, when you order the clear envelopes and send someone a card in them….you will quickly become the most talked about person as it is very special to get in the mail!
To me I am amazed at how they can be mailed, below in the photo you will see some tips but truly, this is so much fun. I have found that if I use stampin' dimensionals, it does go through fine with a single stamp but if you have embellishments like pearls, buttons etc…I would add extra postage.
Let's get to the picture of seeing them side by side. The biggest difference is that I changes the orientation of the card. I wanted you to see the beauty and fun with mailing a card in a clear envelope! (of course you could mail the card from yesterday as it is the same size)
Wouldn't you be smiling if you received this and saw that adorable cake looking at you when you opened your mailbox? Even though I do not have a fun liner for your envelope today, trust me – these clear envelopes will make you be the best card sender…EVER!
I also added the punched out circles…so easy and wowzers, so festive! I hope that these bring an instant smile to your face….see below my tips!
I know that when I received a card in a clear envelope I felt sooooo special…and we are all soooo special – so I say – order these gems! Trust me on this one, you will be the shining star!
I loved all of the comments yesterday and I will be that "turtle" and I am going to stick my neck out and attempt a video for you using the aqua painters for you this week. ( no judgments – I'll do it from my heart)
To me in many ways the aqua painters are very similar to me as heat embossing is….an instant WOW that will make you feel proud. It really is a great technique to do and I do hope that I can encourage you to try it!
I thank for you popping by today and I thank you for your on going support. This is the final days for Sale-a-bration so please make sure that you that you check your "basics" and things that you need to order and do it before the 31st so you can get a freebie!
You know what else today is? It would have been my Mom's 83 Birthday…how special is it that Hannah and my Mom share the same special day…we used to love to celebrate together…
The 3 of us have the same middle name…"Louise" – my Dad always said we are is (3) Louise's….and we loved just the 3 of us to do something special together. I know that in spirit my wonderful Mom is so proud of Hannah so Happy Birthday to 2 very special ladies!
You know what tomorrow is… I have a fun personal challenge for you!

Great idea using the clear envelope and I love how you added some pazazz to your card with the dots, very fun. I am looking forward to you showing us how to use the aqua painters too.
Happy Birthday to Hannah and to your Mom in Heaven and as a Mom Happy Birthday to YOU too!
Love, love, love the cards and I had no idea that clear envelopes were even an option so woot woot – I learned something new AGAIN from you!
Enjoy your day and thanks for all you do for so many!!
Happy birthday Hannah!
I would’ve never thought of mailing with the clear envelopes…clever idea to add a piece of card stock so that it is mail-worthy! I can’t choose which one of the cards is my favorite–I think I’d probably make a stack of each to have in case I needed one in a pinch. Happy birthday to Hannah as well as to your mother who is still celebrating in heaven with “the three Louise’s” 🙂
Susan, I LOVE the punched dots on the stepped up version! What a great & simple way to add some extra flair. Did you use a ruler to draw the white lines? They are so straight. Love them too. Both cards are great. Hope you don’t mind if I CASE this card?
Another absolutely beautiful card! Thanks for sharing.
What a difference a change up makes! Each card has its own unique flair….love them both. How adorable your dad has three Louise’s! Happy 21st birthday to Hannah and happy birthday to your mom….I am sure your mom is smiling down on all of you. Enjoy your day!
Happy Birthday to Hannah! Love your card and the clear envelope idea. Looking forward to your watercolor video.
Holy Cow ! What a wonderful visit with you this morning ! I loved reading your stories like a short book . Happy Birthday to all of you (here and in Heaven ) Such warm thoughts you passed on to us .
I received a card from a Stampin`Up demo a few years ago in a clear envelope and I was so fascinated that I began buying them . I think they are special . Last ,but not least I think your card is adorable today (of course I love pink a lot )All the detailing just makes it !
This IS a very special day in my life as well! My firstborn turns 40 today and she was born on my one and only sister’s birthday! How sweet is that!!! Not only is it a special day, but your card is very sweet and special too! Happy Birthday, Hannah and special memories of wonderful birthdays gone by for you to remember your Mom! What a wonderful day!!! Blessings!!!
I like both cards! I’ll have to try the clear envelopes in the future.
Happy Birthday to Hannah! I hope it is a great day!
Cyberhugs,
Maybe we can skype later in the week?
Hi,
Love this card and the use of these clear envelopes. I learn best by visual means, any chance you might do a video on this. I find it takes the greatest time figuring out the sizes for each piece, any chance you might take a few extra minutes to include the paper layering sizes?
Thanks for all your lovely cards.
Dear Susan, Both cards are so sweet. I really love the second stepped up card. Your details are so special. Happy 21st birthday to Hannah. Happy birthday to your wonderful Mom in heaven. Your idea of using the clear envelopes is great. I can only imagine the thrill the mail man receives delivering this beautiful card to someone special. Then they receive this special card made just for them. Susan have a wonderful day, wish Hannah a great birthday . Hugs, Ellen Hinds
We are kindred spirits…guess what my middle name is? :). I was named after my beloved grandmother. Happy 21 st birthday Hannah Louise! Cheers.
I couldn’t even guess how this week’s card would be stepped up. The punched circles are so cute and look so easy. I will have to give green glue another try sometime and try your tips. I would love to see a water coloring video using the aqua painters…videos are such a big help. This stamp set is one that every time I see it would think hmm don’t really like it but I think my opinion is changed after seeing it done with water color. Happy birthday to Hannah and Grandma! What a heartfelt story 🙂
