Happy “Step it up Sunday” For those of you that are new to my blog…welcome and I hope that you subscribe to my blog as I do blog daily (unless I decide to fall and break a bone) – just add your address on the right and you should be good to go! I have been trying to grow my Stampin' fun so please share my fun with your family and friends!
For the past month I have been doing a (2) day posting of the Saturday being a simple card (that's the style that makes me roll) and then on Sunday I show you the same card just "stepped up" a bit to give you an idea how a couple of tweeks here and there depending if you have the time can make a change to an already cute card!
Please click here to see yesterday's post…I adored the comments and I think that I am calling the cute little bunny "Sally" and if I were no so bow challenged, I should have attempted to put a bow on her!
Here are the 2 cards side by side….I think that they are both super cute and I would be proud to send either one out! Do you have a favorite? Please feel free to leave me a comment….I adore reading them! (click on the picture to make it larger so you can read it easier!)
Please refer back to yesterday's post for details as today I am going to shower you with super cute pictures and touch on the changes that I made.
You can see that the fringe scissors added a great touch. These are very inexpensive for a pair of fun scissors and true you might not use them a ton….but when you want to do something different – they are a keeper! I also like making confetti with them!
Hopefully the above picture will be helpful to you with the comments! Here you can see the angle of how I scored the DSP to create a bit of 3-D for the fence. I did carefully adhere it with green glue, just be patient letting it set up.
One thing that I did and I did not write in the comments…..after I adhered both sides of the "fence", I slid a couple of stampin' dimensionals to keep it from squishing (hope that this made sense) - See in the below picture.
Here is a good shot of the bow….adding just a touch of linen thread did the trick in my opinion to this simple bow of white bakers twine! A quick glue dot to the rescue was all that is needed!
Well…there you go my friends! I hope that you have enjoyed these 2 cards and I hope that I have inspired you! All of the products are below and remember for every order in increments of $50.00, you get to pick a freebie!
I hope that you pop back tomorrow for my Monday personal challenge…you could win a pack of Stampin' Dimensionals…you're going to love what I am blogging about – FAST – FUN – PRACTICAL – and oh so much fun to put together!
Great idea and it came out so cute. The dimensionals are a great trick too. Looks very “spring” like, which I’m ready for.
🙂
Good morning Susan, I didn’t have a chance to see yesterday’s card but I’m glad you showed it today. I like the stepped up version, love the grass peeking under the board panel, it really completed this card perfectly.
Thank you for sharing.
You did it again…..so toot’n cute and clever! Love the twine and thread look together….gives it that country bling!
Fun card today. The blue watercolor background and the grass take this card more than a step up. Thanks for the ideas and great explanation. Having both card side by side in the same blog was a big help too.
My favorite is the first one though I like the grass. But, that has to be some really tall grass to reach up on top of the wall or fence in my opinion. I do like a little less of Alice, ummm Sally’s dress or top since she didn’t get any buttons or a necklace. I still think she looks more like an Alice than a Sally! Just kidding! I think I like the pop of color with the red button too. The wooden wall or fence does look good popped up a smidge and you could add something in there like a thin treat or a gift card. I guess you could say I am sort of on the fence after all that was said!
Now to work on that chick with it’s poor little paws, claws, or whatever they would be called. It needed wings and to make it hold the sign with it’s wings otherwise it looks like it has a finger or something strange. Hey, did John get his chickens – do they have names? This little critter needs help with an identity if you ask me! The bear obviously could be called Teddy but Rodger seemed to be good too. Enough sillness for now.
Cute card and your “Sally” looks like she is in the middle of a Spring day since that pretty green grass sprouted up ! I forget to use my Fringe Scissors …thank you for reminding me !
