Here you go my friends, it is the day that I share with you a simple card and then tomorrow please pop back and you can see the same card…just "stepped up" a bit! You just cannot get anymore basic than this sweet card.
This is what I call a formula card and a layout that you can use over and over – simple change up the stamps and color schemes and wowzers – you have a new card and your secret is safe with me.
Today's card is a regular A-2 card in Crushed Curry and then the white is just a smidge smaller. The super fun DSP is from the Flower Pot Designer Series Paper.
The polka dots are not only fun, they are classic and timeless.
The (2) stamp sets I used are Sassy Salutations and Flower Shop and YIPPEE – they are both staying in the new catalog….WOOT-WOOT.
Remember we have a punch that POPS out these flowers in a snap! I am soooo darn excited to see what new stamps and punches SU is going to come out with…
Can you see that I kept one of the flowers flat and then on the other one, I "doubled" up a stampin' dimensional in the center? This works every time to create a fun depth.
For the centers of the flowers, I used up scraps of Crushed Curry and the 1/2" punch. Darn, those punches sure do come in handy!
The envelope was a double whammy today! I used crushed curry, the Polka Dot Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and the Big Shot to create a simple, clean and fun back flap.
On the front I used the stamps (as they are already inked up so why not???) as it is the perfect finishing touch.
Now can't you see that this card is timeless and wow, how much fun it would be with different colors! This is another one of those cards to make up a bunch and keep them on hand, "just in case"!!!
Do you ever make up a bunch of cards and give as a gift? This would be one of them to keep up your sleeve. I am excited for you to pop back tomorrow to see what changes I have made.
Please feel free to email me if I can be of help, enjoy your Saturday and I deeply appreciate you popping in and supporting my Stampin' Up! fun. It is my goal to make you feel a sense of accomplishment and encourage you to continue to reach, stretch and try to make this whole card making rewarding!
Until tomorrow!
Adorable! You can never go wrong with polka dots OR flowers. I am a sucker for punches–a clean cut image can make a huge difference on a card and it only takes seconds to do (versus fussy cutting). I am getting excited to see the new catalog; it’s my equivalent of a toy catalog for a kid at Christmas. Looking forward to tomorrow’s post! Enjoy your day!
Love this!! I pinned it and am sending it to some of my friends who have those sets:-). Did you paper pierce the whisper white layer or are those your famous doodle dots? Great touch!! Can’t wait for tomorrow’s “upgrade”!!
Great layout…funny how the eye sometimes tricks the brain…I read (2 sets) then read Sassy Salutations as 1, flower shop as 2 and Yippee as 3
stopped me until I reread and reread and reread and saw the products at the bottom…guess I jumped to Yippee Skippee!!
blessings
What a fun card and layout! Polka dots just scream happy and the colors are great together. I like the stamp placement on the envelope, too. Can’t wait to see what’s in store for us tomorrow. Enjoy the day, Susan!
Susan, this is such a happy, cheery, bright card, love this Sassy Salutations stamp set, I’m so happy it staying put, I would hate to see it go before I can get my hands on it.
I can’t wait to see the tweaked card tomorrow, I’m looking and looking at this card and I just can’t guess what you will do so, I will patiently wait to see it tomorrow.
Thank you for sharing.
Cheerful and fun card! Yellow is a happy color and your card is a happy card!
I hope everything goes great tonight! Have a fantastic weekend!
Cyberhugs!
A timeless card indeed! Love the colors together too! Thanks for the inspiration.
Hope you have a great weekend!
Now wait, this is already a stepped up version – you could have left off the DP and the EF! So, tomorrow will be a super duper stepped up version! Whatever it will be, will be and I really am looking forward to seeing it. That envelope is so cute as well. I like the punched out centers for the flowers for mailing ease – I just mailed one with pearls and paid extra postage. I think these colors look so rich together – sort of a middle eastern feel. Hey, speaking of color – any clues as to what new colors they will introduce?
I love your stepping up cards. The color combination on this card is wonderful and just when I think I don’t need any more paper…Thanks for sharing your creativity.
