Show and Tell Saturday!

IMG_8851

It's back….the 2 day weekend format of showing something today and then pop back tomorrow and see how I have "stepped it" up a bit. Now don't click me off that this is not a card as I think that this is SUPER cute and I know that tomorrow you will enjoy that as well! (trust me)

CONFESSIONS OF AN HONEST DEMONSTRATOR: – I bought this die when it came out in the Occasions Catalog and I have never used it until now…(sound familiar to anyone else)??? On Tuesday when I saw it was on the weekly deals I thought – this is silly – pull that thing out and give it a spin!

Well…let me tell you – this is one that you need to hit that SHOP NOW button and get it especially since it is 25% off with the weekly deals. I am actually bummed that it took me so long to fall in love with this as I can see how much I will use it!

137547G

I do realize that the majority of my customers like to "look at" the 3D projects I make but are reluctant to make them. When I first started paper crafting I was the exact same way, I was truthfully fearful that I would not figure out how to put it together.

True the dies are more pricey but you will be amazed at how versatile they are and the longevity of them is fabulous as we always come out with new paper (and we all know we have a TON of discontinued paper that we scratch our heads and say what do I do with all of this)!!! and this die is a perfect example of how you can use it all year long!

Let's get to it – it is super duper straight forward…sometimes we just need to see pictures to help us "see the way". The thing that I really love about this die is that it is perfect with the paper stacks!

Now that the paper stacks are 6" X 6" – and in each stack there are (4) of the same print of paper – to make one bag you use 1 1/2 sheets of paper…so you can make 2 of these bags and still have a sheet left! LOVE THAT!

Enjoy the parade of pictures…so easy to do and today I chose to use the new adhesive Tear & Tape Adhesive. It is wonderful that you do not need to use scissors…a quick tear and DONE!

The next fun part is playing with the other dies that are in the set. The ideas are endless and the banner is perfect for the size of the adorable bag.

IMG_8840

A couple of "dashes" add the fun flair and then the bakers twine….the BEST bang for your buck and I love that you can do so much with it – bows…loops – FUN!

IMG_8841

Now to the parade of the others!

Please pop back tomorrow and see what I have up my sleeve!

IMG_8847

Well….thoughts??? When I showed them to John he naturally smiled and said. "They are cute" – "Were they hard to make"? – Then he said…they would be great for my employees during tax season with a cookie in them…

hmmm – do you think he is taking advantage of my Stampin' Fun??? YEP, and I love it that not only he thinks about his employees…he knows that it brings me joy to do it for him! I just love making things with my hands!

IMG_8857

I can't wait to show you what tomorrow will bring. I think that you will smile. I have had a lot of emails asking if I do a rewards program….the answer – YES! Below you will see it and please feel free to email me if you have any questions!

“Show & Tell” Saturday!

IMG_8507

It's the weekend and that means a day fun post that I like to do for you all! Today is a "simpler" version and please pop back tomorrow to see another clean and simple card….just "stepped up a bit"!

Hopefully this super simple layout will inspire you to use your Designer Series Paper. (I know you all have it….and some of you have LOTS of it) Today's paper is a beautiful new DSP called English Garden and it's a keeper!

138440G

The colors are just stunning and the richness of the prints make it stand alone like I am showcasing today! The over all size of the card is fun…a 3 1/2" X 6 1/2" card and today I am using the NEW heavy weight paper…and I LOVE IT! I ti s amazing the difference it makes and if you are layering, have no fear – it makes perfectly!

IMG_8517

Now we must talk about this stamp set…it is a keeper as well. You can never have too many thank you sentiment stamp set and this one I know will be very inky at my house! I must admit, when I first stamped it I thought I did not get an even impression and since I was using the stamp-a-jig I stamped it again…but it is the way the stamp is made! (Silly Susan)

139420G

Can't you see a multitude of great projects made with this set? Remember, my goal with the new stamp sets is to share with you at least 3 different posts on a given stamp set…this way – you can see the versatility of your purchases.

IMG_8511

Having an "odd size" card always make the recipient feel special…think about it – if you opened your mailbox and saw a normal size card or an odd size card, I am sure we both know which one you would open first. The envelope punch board makes life sooo darn easy!

You can see in the below photo, I carried bit the DSP and the sentiment to my envelope….such a simple thing to do but it carries soooo much!

IMG_8518

I know that many of you have shared with me your struggle with using DSP…just go for it and let it be the focal part…we have so many great papers – go ahead and show them off!

IMG_8506

The tip that I can give you is…purchase the bakers twine in as many colors as you like…it is sooooooo affordable but at the same time it is over the moon effective! I simply took 3 pieces and tied a super simple bow (just like your shoe…that's my speed)

IMG_8508

Well that's it – one super simple yet clean card that carried a huge punch! I hope to see you back tomorrow for the "stepped up versions"…I think that you will like that as much as this card!

Please feel free to leave me a comment. How do you feel about using DSO as a foal part…are you comfortable with it? How about giving it a try – is a fun and fast way to whip up a card!

Until tomorrow!

Show & Tell Saturday!

IMG_8385

Good Morning! I hope that you do not hit that big CLICK ME OFF button when you see how incredibly "Plain Jane" this card is but when you look at it and think of it…it is a classic and it is a GREAT way to make up thank you notes for graduate, friends and YOU!

Make sure that you pop back tomorrow to see how I "stepped it up"…for those of you that need a bit more pizazz. To me, I am "just fine" the way it is but I think you will smile tomorrow!

Before we get going…the post that I did yesterday has been SOOOOOO much fun! I am looking forward to seeing the "end result" of votes so if you did not see it yesterday, please click here and give us your feedback! (I will post the results on Monday)

IMG_8383

Let's get to this simple gem! The star of the show is the Stamp Set, Larger than Life! True is a pricey one but it does come with all of the alphabet as well as the numbers (many times they are sold separately and if that was the case…it would add up to this) This is a classic…one that is timeless!

135382G

  • The base is the FUN Whisper White Note Card….one of my all time favorites!
  • The White stamped piece is 1/4 smaller = 3 1/4" X 5 3/4" TIP: – Because I am "type A" I found the center of this piece and placed a pencil dot before I stamped the image!

IMG_8388

  • A simple "flip over" and then scored at all sides is the classic touch…..
  • A mat of Mossy Meadow makes the initial POP!

Time to talk about this AMAZING Liner Paper, English Garden…..just look at this INCREDIBLE paper…the colors are just beautiful and I am excited for you to see tomorrow's as I think it accents the paper perfectly!

138440G

  • Big Shot to the rescue and the Envelope Liner framelit – BAM….done!

For all of you amazing Product Share people….I feel like a 3 armed wall paper hanger, busy cutting and getting everything "Just Susan right" for you! It is such an exciting time…and I adore seeing the new products.

IMG_8389

I am waiting for "my" order to come in….I placed the Product Share and had it expedited (But I did add 3 stamp sets as I could not wait)…you'll see one tomorrow!

Let's all have a great day! Yesterday was a scary one for us….as our wonderful  – "Norman" our Beagle simply could not get up….after taking him to the vets…he has full blown Lyme's….(and we use Frontline)….he is home and comfortable….very scary and even though he is not out of the woods….please check your animals for ticks!

IMG_7812

I adore him….he had a very bad prior life before he became an "Itell" – Until tomorrow!

p.s. – Please do not let anyone tell you there is something wrong with "Plain Jane" – she is a classic!

Show & Tell Saturday!

IMG_8333

It's the weekend and you know what that means…part #1 of my (2) day post….today being the "Show and Tell Saturday" where I will provide you a clean, simple and classic card and then tomorrow I will share with you the "stepped up" version! (There usually are not too many major changes, I just like to share with you how you can make some simple "tweaks" to make it different!)

The star stamp set is a NEW Hostess Stamp Set called Floral Wings. Darn, I wish you could see it…(but Tuesday will be here super quick) as it is one beautiful stamp set! It comes complete with 10 photopolymer stamps and the butterfly…well you'll be "fluttering" when you see this beauty!

IMG_8330

Let's get going as this is a super sweet card!

  • The overall size is a 4" square card in whisper white.
  • The NEW In Color of Delightful Dijon (now I realize that many of you are not "keen" on this color…but I think it looks super-de-duper!) The size is a 3 7/8" square and then I scored the sides at 1/8" all the way around with the Simply Scored and I did it so the embossed lines are "up"
  • The next piece of whisper white is a 3 1/2" square and this fits perfectly in the Delightful Dijon. In the below pictures you will see the "type A" in me…I stamped the sentiment and then had stamped the vase on a scrap piece of paper to i it out.

IMG_8312

IMG_8313

  • The colors I used are Island Indigo, Rich Razzleberry, Pear Pizzazz and Delightful Dijon. I just love the fact that this stamp set gives you the ability to stamp the stem where and how high you want it…and then the flower is separate as well.

IMG_8314

  • It is not hard at all to cut the vase out…I personally think that this adds a bunch. I will say that I do like to stamp the underneath as show in the above photos as I like if you see from the side…you can see the vase!
  • The bow was a simple piece of bakers twine doubled up and tied into a bow. I used a glue dot to adhere it in place. I use Bakers Twine a bunch, it is always so easy to work with!

IMG_8337

  • Lastly, the envelope….the wonderful envelope! Making a square one is a cinch with the Envelope Punch Board…when I was making it I thought….I paid under $20.00 for this wonderful tool and when I think of how many times I have used it…I feel like I should be paying Stampin' Up! back!!!
  • I used the NEW envelope paper for the outer flap and yes – I did use the "green glue" and it works fine with this paper….(this paper is much thinner)

IMG_8334

Well…thoughts my friends? This is just one happy card that can easily be made into all different sizes. I cannot wait for you to see the hostess sets with the new catalog – they are all fun!

If you have friends and family that like Stampin' Up! why don't you contact me and I will give you your own special hostess code so YOU can reap the benefits of being a hostess and get a great stamp set. The best thing is that if you have a friend that lives across the country…that's o..k. – Stampin' Up! ships each order directly to them and YOU get to reap the benefits.

IMG_7907

Remember, this is the card that I will send to you as my thank-you….I just ADORE this stamp set and as I have blogged about this before….the punch is being carried over but the stamp set is not…so – if I were you…I would buy it as a bundle as you will save 15% and have this amazing stamp set!

I will be emailing you today and tomorrow for a confirmation for the Product Share requests I have received….please let me know if you are interested in a share as I will order Tuesday morning…PRONTO!

I hope to see you tomorrow – I know you'll love it!

Show & Tell Saturday!

IMG_8095

Happy Weekend….here is the 1st of the weekend posts for you! Father's Day is right around the corner and I know that we all seem to struggle with masculine cards so…….here you go! This is a very fast card to whip up!

Today I have made this for a Fathers Day Card as I stamped the inside of the card with that sentiment but this layout could also be stamped with a "way to go"….for someone that did something great…or a retirement etc….remember, think out of the box to maximize your stamp sets!

I shared when you when I blogged about this stamp set before, I was on the fence about purchasing it as I was afraid if it was retired etc…but GREAT NEWS – it is being carried over and I am thrilled as this is a wonderful masculine set.

137178G

This card is a 5" square Card in Very Vanilla and then the layers are in Always Artichoke and the oh so handsome paper from the Adventure Awaits Paper Stack!

TIP!!! – If you are interested in purchasing this stamp set….I would do it BEFORE the new catalog launches and go ahead and purchase it as a bundle as this paper stack will be retiring and it is a KEEPER for masculine cards…you can see in the scrolling store at the end of the post. Also, remember to use this hostess code  K3VX2TKD and hopefully you will win the hostess rewards (wouldn't that be a woot-woot)

IMG_8094

Using the stampin' trimmer and some scraps, I simply cut 1 1/2" squares and then stamped the shoes – EASY-PEASY! To get the alignment, I adhered the center one and then did the sides – then you know…..out came the marker and some simple dashes did the trick!

IMG_8100

Going back to the scrap bin (don't we just LOVE using up scraps) I stamped the sentiment and then POPPED it out with the Modern Label Punch, (again, our punches are certainly SPEED TOOLS in my opinion!).

I also popped one out with the Always Artichoke and then cut that in half and mounted it behind the sentiment! The addition of the candy dots seemed fitting today!

IMG_8098

Making the custom envelope is a cinch with the Envelope Punch Board…for basically $20.00, how can you go wrong? It is such a lifesaver and time-saver when making odd size cards! Simply follow the measurement chart to find what size of paper you need and then punch and score away!

I told you that this was quick! To me it is quick but also a simple masculine WOW! I hope that you pop back tomorrow to see what I have come up with to give it a bit of change, I think that you will like it!

Here is a picture of my dear old man Eddie….this is just priceless. It has been beautiful on the East Coast but the evenings have been chilly. Eddie shivers…and in the evenings he likes to have a coat on!

IMG_8106

He adores toys…and is very protective of them (it is funny, I swear he knows them by name) – this is "Mr. Monkey"…we were fixing dinner and then going to watch a movie…when we came into the family room…here is what we found, Eddie and Mr Monkey front and center for a great evening! I hope this makes you smile as much as I did!

Enjoy your day and go make some memories!

Show & Tell Saturday!

IMG_7917

Yippee  – it is Saturday! On Thursday I had a comment that dear Caleb (remember…the kindergarten tike that had a spelling test) had to put his sun glasses on to see my post! Well today, he might need to put them back on! I love the FUN and FRESH colors of this card and I hope that you do as well!

I am doing the happy dance with the new in color of Cucumber Crush (and that is one vegetable that I do not care for) but it is soooo classic paired up with basic black & white and the other POP color is melon mambo!

I thought I would showcase the hexagon punch as it is on the weekly deals this week so that is a woot-woot as you will save 25% and the stamp set is the Six Sided Sampler and YES – it will be staying with us so I thought that this 2 day post would be a win-win all the way around!

IMG_7921

The other NEW product that I am using today is the NEW Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack….the design are fabulous, you can click here to see the post I did showcasing them and today I used the flower design in black! To me, these are a total keeper as you will always have a perfect compliment to the project that you are making!

I hope that you will pop back tomorrow to see how I have "stepped it up" – when you break this card down, it is super simple and one that you can make multiples of and if you need to change up the sentiment..than GO FOR IT!

Below you will see a series of pictures that will show you the "how to's"….please feel free to email me if you have any questions on how to make this fun card! The card is a white A-2 vertical card but I used a piece of black the same size as the card to work off of and then adhered it to the card base.

IMG_7913

IMG_7914

IMG_7915

The other stamp set that I used and YES – it will be with us for another year…it is Beautiful Bunch and it also has a punch that POPS it out – a total win-win! (You can see the products that I have used for this post in the scrolling store at the end) I just love our punches that match – WOW – what a time saver!

IMG_7925

Today, I used a plain Cucumber Crush flower to accent behind the focal flower! This card is completely flat…no dimensionals today….but POP back tomorrow and see what I have up my sleeve!

Well, how do you like this fun and bold card?I know by sight it looks like a bunch or work…but if you break it down you can do it in steps…and it will be a keeper!

IMG_7918

I am excited for you to see the new catalog, the new inspirations….but I must admit, I think that Stampin' Up! did a fabulous job in keeping the "keepers"…and sometime the "keepers" are ones that we might "forget about" but they are still shining stars!

Have a fabulous day and please pop back tomorrow to see how I stepped it up!
