Well….I think that yesterday's card was fun…and I know that there are not many changes for today but I hope that you can see that making subtle changes and also changing the orientation of the card makes a huge difference.
When I first started with card making, I always just made cards in the regular horizontal position like yesterdays card! WHY??? I really do not know, it was probably just the way that I learned and truthfully I think I was just comfortable with it!
Let's see what today's card is about…I simply changes it to a vertical A-2 card and then added the Rich Razzleberry as a mat and presto – a different look.
I hope that you can see that making a super quick and super simple change will give you a different look. I invite you to play with paper. Paper is a very fast and easy way to change the feel of your work. (Remember, when you have a large mat that is going to be covered up…punch it out to save paper)
Basically the card is the same….same dots around the edge (I love my dots) and the same with the flowers – one is mounted flat, the other "double" dimensionals. I think using the mat of color gives instant depth.
This is a super simple card but a card layout that you will use over and over – basic shapes…great stamps…a winner every time.
Envelope love in 2 ways – the back flap embossed with the fun polka dots and the front with the stamps that I already had out…so why not!?!?
Please click here to see yesterdays post to see the difference between the (2) cards. I personally think that you would not go wrong with either one. I think it is fun changing the orientation of the cards and please have fun with using all sorts of DSP and colors of paper!
Remember, the retiring list is out and there are many stamp sets that many of you love so you better snatch them up now and also the accessory retiring list is M E L T I N G ….these are while supplies last!
I hope that you have enjoyed this weekend fun of cards…which one do you like??? Do you tend to do more vertical or horizontal cards??? Feel free to leave a comment or send me an email!
Until tomorrow!

Love this card and how you used the dots….it was actually the first thing I noticed and then my eye took me to everything else. I see a CASE coming on!!
What a difference a few small changes make! I love your card…as usual! Caleb says hi 🙂
That’s funny! I always start with the vertical positioning and have to force myself to go horizontal.
What a difference the darker mat makes….it really does pop the card! Horizontal seems a natural way to go but with your blog and guidance I try to go out of my comfort zone and explore other possibilities. Love this card and layout and will definitely CASE!
The different color behind the panels make a big difference! I really, really like it!
Have a nice Sunday!
Cyberhugs!!!
Susan, I love the fact that you turned the design around but the addition of the Rich Razzelbberry CS behind the pretty yellow flowers really made a fabulous difference. I also noticed the paper piercing around the card, somehow I missed it yesterday, it looks really pretty.
Thank you for sharing.
Really look forward to your Step it up Sunday. It is amazing w h at a difference a few small changes can make.love your Susan signature dots and the mimicked dots around the edge on both cards. The addition of the Rich Razzleberry really stepped this card up a notch.
This card is equally sweet. I love the polka dots–so happy! Orientation can make an amazing difference. Two great cards!
Dear Susan, I love both cards. I agree I tend to do cards one way. But you showed us how sweet it is to make the simple changes and you can go both ways. You are amazing. Love them both. Happy Stamping, Ellen Hinds
new challenge to self…CASE Susan….alot!!!
Susan, I really liked the card yesterday and wondered what you would do to change it. And now today! Yippee. I love the extra mat. Makes a huge difference. I like how you do this challenge to yourself every week. It is interesting. I have begun to try it myself in a way. If I have a card ready to send in a few days I will wait a day or two and re-look at it and see if there is something I can do to make it better. Sometimes the change ISN’T better and I liked it best in the original. But at least there is a choice.
thanks — I also want to mention I like your virtual challenges where we email you one of our cards for a certain occasion.

I had to laugh, I swore you had the same matting yesterday! I looked back and nope there wasn’t. I think I like today’s better for that reason and also the vertical look appeals more to me with the narrower DP. Either way, both cards are great!
