Hello and I am back home…it has been a L O N G but FUN and R E W A R D I N G 4 days! Back to the grind on the home front but today I think that I might have some of you scratching your heads.
I say that because it will be super hard for you to tell a big difference between the 2 cards and you are going to have to keep an open mind and hopefully I will be able to walk you through the differences.
I had both John and Hannah stumped and they could not understand why there is a difference between the 2. When you hold them in your hand, you will see the difference. The end result is that Hannah is thrilled with the note cards as she needed a new supply from Mom!
Today I am using (3) products that are “walking the plank” ~ Itty Bitty Accent Punches, the deco Label Framelits and the Larger than Life Alphabet Stamp. Here are my thoughts about these products…
Itty BItty Accent Punches – a must have as they are always a perfect filler for here and there ! I bet I use one of them just about daily and there is not a replacement of them in the new catalog (I don’t get it but that is ok as there are tons of new goodies) 🙂
Deco Label Framelits – I really love and use the “nesting” framelits. I will keep these for my personal use as I find that I do use them often as I like the shape and they are practical for me.
Larger Than Life Alphabet Stamp Set – When this came out I adored it because I just love simple monograms like I am showing you today! I do agree that it is very expensive but the way that I justified it was….look at how many gifts I used then stamp set for. This make a wonderful and useful gift to give a friend, a package of personalized note cards handmade by YOU!
Now hang on to your hats….I have a ca-zillion pictures for you! Just take it all in and feel free to leave me a comment if you have questions….suggestions….or simply have something to say! Today is a day ALL ABOUT BEING HOME….and it will be a “jammies” day with NO GUILT!!!!!
I know that I fall short in responding to your comments, but leave me one and I will pop on and answer your questions! I hope that the pictures will help shed light to this FUN card….
The biggest difference is….the below (Simple Saturday) the green frame and the initial is adhered together with tear and tape and then adhered, POPPED UP on the front of a note card!
The below, (Step it up Sunday) is just one more step…I cut a piece of whisper white 1/4″ smaller , than cut with the deco framelits like I did above…..
Please use your “stacking framelits” to the max…in the below picture you can see how you can achieve a “ring” – a perfect sandwich to use!
Trust me…this new catalog is F A B U L O U S and there are L O T S of nesting framelits in there….this is G R E A T because framelits take up so much less room than punches and we are going to have L O T S of C H O I C E S! 🙂
Use the tear tape to adhere together… it is F A S T … it is E A S Y… it is S T R O N G!
The fun foam that you see in the below picture is not a Stampin’ Up! product, it is a product that I like when mounting a rather large area…I do purchase it from Amazon and I must say, I like the feel it gives to a card. Here is the link to the one I use!
2 more images of each below…..I hope that you can see the difference and then visualize or better yet, try to see which style you like….you must admit…the flowers and the pearls are the icing on the F U N cake!
Yikes – I have not looked in the “walking the plank” lists for the past couple of days….I am sad. 😥 The Craft Scissors are gone…..good think I am good to go!! Remember, when they are gone…they are gone!
Many thanks for your patience and understanding….my “joy tank” is filled to the max from the past several days….and it is great to be home….but it will even be better having a “jammies” day today!

Hi Susan, Glad you and John are home safe and sound and Hannah is all set up. How far is she from you now?
Love the card and I LOVE thank you cards. I like to make a set as a gift. I had a “jammies” day yesterday. Among daily routines, I got to make a card, requested by my daughter to go with your baby shower gift and I organized my thick baker’s twine. I had to figure a way to label them because I am not good with names. They were in the little plastic bags and I never used them. I came up with a strip of paper, laced through the cardboard, with the name. I just taped it at one end. They came out so good and now they stand up. (Color coded too!) Like you said, just a nice day.
Enjoy yours too.
🙂
You make me smile….always! Way to go for your organizing your bakers twine….it feels GREAT to get things done like this! In my jammies – I had a get it organized day as well…it feels so good to clean up and get organized! Hannah is about 5 1/2 hours away…very doable – I adore her apartment and the area in general. I think that she will be super happy!
Love both cards but Sunday’s version really impressed (and inspired) me. Making it all one layer was very classy! Glad to hear your family adventure was fun. Love a “jammies” day….perfect for a dreary, rainy day. Enjoy!
Hello to our favorite sheep herder! Life is truly an adventure and we had a fun…fast and furious four days…(wow – that was 4 f’) say that 3 times! I hope that you make it….it’s a keeper….just like you my friend!
Yup, I like the solid look of the stepped up card too! I must say that the clean lines of this card appeal to me, great for a quick note, thank you, or a wonderful gift as a set! Just ask Hannah!!!?
Enjoy your jammie day!
YEAH….thanks for your feedback! I am glad to see that you can see the difference….I just love this size of card and WOW – what a bang for your buck! Hannah picked the one that you did! Thanks for popping in!
It took a bit to catch on to the differences between the two, but now that I have–a “high five” to you! The extra “oomph” from the foam makes all the difference. Great idea–thank you! (I may actually get dressed, but mentally it’s a “jammie day” here, too. Rainy, overcast, plus we just finished a three-day garage sale …)
Hi Georgette…thanks for POPPING in and there is not a day that I do not think if you and smile….as I have some of the most beautiful cards (yours) hanging in my work space! I am so glad that you like the card…the foam makes a HUGE difference…I know that you are SUPER POOPED from your garage sale…but it is usually worth it….cleaning…purging…and the extra cash most likely leaves you with a smile! Hugs!
Dear Susan, I like both cards. You were right it was hard to tell the difference. I do like the Sunday’s version better. Where did Hannah go. I am so glad that you are back home. Enjoy being in your Jammies today. Have a great stamping day. Relax and sit back and enjoy your home with John and all of your fur babies. Hugs, Ellen Hinds
My dear, wonderful Ellen….you did it again, I smiled when I saw your name. I agree…I liked today’s card! Hannah is still at school and graduates in 2 weeks (yippee) and then one week later she starts her job at Duke University. She will be there for 2 years doing research. Because of the tight time schedule, this is why John and I helped her get settled in her new apartment. We had fun….it was tiring…but at the end, it looks great and it seemed weird to leave it and for her to go back to school. We just knew that the time would FLY by if we didn’t go now….my fur babies missed me!
Jammie days are the best! I was so proud of myself, as I guessed the difference between your two cards. I too like the “stepped-up Sunday” version. The extra step of insetting the center monogram makes it a classic look. I have been playing with with some of the stamps I recently purchased. I thought I needed to open them up and get to know them a little before Stampin’ Up kicks them out of the line up. I was so surprised they are retiring as some of them were new in the last catalog. I purchased them with the thought they would stick around for awhile. I am glad I purchased the old favorite “Itty Bitty” punches even if they are not going to be around any longer. They are fun accents. Enjoy your day. It’s a good paper playing day here.
Hey one of my 3 Stamp-a-teers!!!! Way to go for guessing….trust me…it was hard to put into words so I was hoping that my instructions were ok for you to follow!
I totally hear you about playing with stamps….but please do not worry about some being discontinued….I think that they need to ask us!!!! Even though some stamp sets are walking down the plank but please know that they are still keepers…and I will still use them like they are fresh off the press….I just probably not blog about them as it would make some sad that they didn’t have it BUT….for the life of me, I do not get the Itty Bitty Punches….as I will bet. they will sneak in my blog as they are my go-to’s!
It is a dreary day here with a chilly wind and lots of drizzly rain. So, I am not on the fence trying to decide which I liked best. After all the photos and explanation, today’s stepped version in a clear winner (I think at this moment anyway)! I keep telling Ted we will melt if we go for a walk in the rain so maybe he will be content in not going. Bak to the cards, fun and Hannah will enjoy them. The little flowers are so cute. I was surprised to see the itty bitty punches being retired too. The green on the cards reminded me that I actually sat down and made the wreath from the Paper Pumpkin kit yesterday. I reversed some of the strips so mine is more fluffy and made the bow at the top smaller. Looks pretty good to me and we will see what I think after the surgery this Wednesday! Glad you are back and can relax a bit and have a good day in your jammies.
Dreary Day here as well! Oh Teddy….he rules the roost! What you did with the Paper Pumpkin sounds adorable! That was a super fun kit and I need to play with the freebie stamp set…I have seen lots of great ideas – time for me to ink it up! Take it easy….this will be a big week for you!
Would it be possible for you to make a video of these cards or at least of the second card? I don’t know why I feel so dumb? The directions are going right over my head. I’ve read the directions so many times and still can’t figure out where I’m going wrong. I’m about to cry. I love your projects. I love the box you made for these cards. so cute! Thank you for any and all help!
