Can you believe it? July is here and this is a Holiday weekend for us as well! I don’t know about you….but – I think that the older I get, the calendar seems to be faster and faster!!! I am super excited for this weekend as 2 of the peeps will be a Home ~ Sweet Home! 😛Â
With a new month, we have a New Hostess Code (you will always find the current hostess code on the right side of my blog but here it is.) If you place an order with my that is $35 + I will send you this card and if your order is $75+ you will get a double whammie from me, this card and the Festive Embossing Folder!
On yesterday’s card I used the Festive Embossing Folder and I think…well, I know that everyone needs to have it as it is a super fun addition. If you already have this folder (you are smart and have good taste) but no worries, you can just let me know what other folder you would like to have. I’m easy, I just want you to be happy! 🙂
I ask you….did you just buzz by page 108 in the catalog with this below stamp set, Feather Together? I know I did but I swear that every time I sit and take in the catalog I see something else that I love, this stamp set is just that.
You might be saying why??? First, I love that it is a photopolymer. Second, I love the price. Third, I love the sentiments. Fourth, I adore the font.
I think the reason I passed it up initially was the fact that I was having a personal pity party that there was not a framelit for the feathers. I am over that and heck, if I want to cut a feather out…it really is not a big deal.(just saying)
It doesn’t get any more classic than this – I call this a keeper card and the best thing is….I would LOVE to send one your way! I have said this before but I adore when Stampin’ Up! has a DSP that coordinates with Very Vanilla.
This is what I think makes this card. I used the Moroccan DSP and I just adore it. Click here and then here to see a post I did before with this paper – I admit, I am not a huge fan of the Stamps that coordinate with this paper, (Page 67) but the paper, YES…YES…YES!!! 🙂Â
A very straight forward card like this needs to be in your stash. I maximized the DSP by cutting “just enough” to get (8) cards out of one sheet of paper and there is still plenty to use for another project. By using a different paper in the paper pack, allowed me to still create a beautiful card with not using a ton of the same DSP.
Does that make sense? I encourage you to look at your paper before you cut it to see how you can use it to your advantage. Today, I used an accent color, Delightful Dijon to add length and interest to the DSP Banner and then with a simple bow – BAM – another focal point of interest – WORKS FOR ME!
Let’s have a quick chat about the super cute lines on the side of the paper. This fun dot border stamp is from the Perfectly Wrapped Stamp Set below. I bet you buzzed by that as well as in the catalog, page 159 as in the catalog it is shown with a kit. I have this kit but have yet to put it together but I sure have used this stamp set a bunch.
I will put the kit together and blog about it one day but I just wanted to point out not to over look basic stamps like this one! I am getting ready to make a BUNCH of cards to send to team members and you will smile when you see them, simple yet super classic and fun!
Below is your “file for the future” picture, pin away – a great was to have a visual of what brought this card to life. The BEST THING is….you can have this card in your little paws with an order. Now that is easy!!!
In closing, please remember that TODAY IS THE LAST DAY THAT I AM TAKING PRODUCT SHARE ORDERS!
Please CLICK HERE to see the post that has all of the offerings on it! I deeply appreciate all of the product share orders and I am so happy to offer them to you.
It is funny….as I work on shares I am happy, super happy because I know that you are getting the opportunity to have fun with the new product. That makes me happy because we do have so many great additions and being about to get a taste of this and that is simply the best!
If you are traveling, please be careful – I know that once peep #2 comes home I will sleep better. This is the first that Hannah has been home since entering the “real world” of having a job etc…last night she called and said, I am cleaning my apartment so when I get back, everything looks great for my work week! (I just had to chuckle inside as that sounds like me)

Beautiful card….the colors are so perfect together and the layout is simple and easy. The burlap on the ribbon is just the right touch needed to finish the card. We will be with all our peeps this weekend, too, for an enjoyable 4th. Enjoy your time with your peeps and have a great day!
Dear Susan, I love this simple but very pretty card. Have a wonderful holiday with all of your peeps. THanks again for waking me up to a beautiful card from you. Hugs,
Ellen Hinds
Fun card. Another one for the idea file. Love how easy it would be to change it up with other DSP for different occasions.
Love, love, love this DSP and your pattern is a keeper. I love a simple layout. Happy 4th of July everyone!!!?????
Great card! And yep – I totally missed that stamp set. Thanks for featuring it:-) Enjoy the weekend!!
Of all the DSP choices, this one would not have been on my list, but I have liked both of your cards using it. I love this simple design that is quick to make and would be easy to mass produce. I’d love to know the measurements to get 8 cards from one sheet. Enjoy your peeps and have a great weekend.
You used many things that I don’t really care for and made a card that I like! I agree with you that the DSP makes the card, and I haven’t really liked this DSP. I think the key is proportion. This card helps me to see that an entire sheet of the DSP is too much for me, but in small doses it can be impactful in a pleasing way.
For me, I still think that other DSPs and supplies will edge this pattern out, but if there is a sale or if I need a little more to get my order over a threshold for more rewards, this could actually make it into my home!
Susan, while I am sure you hear this a lot, I have to tell you every card you put out there is always one I love and feel I can CASE. Thank you so much for sharing your talents.
Great design you used in your card today. Very versitle.
Enjoy the weekend with your family!
I really like this card. I was looking at these prints in my shares and thought oh, these are fun in smaller pieces and that is what you did today. The colors and patterns are so interesting. I also love it for the vanilla rather than using white. May just have to CASE away on this! The little dotted strips made me smile – what a fun touch. I had seen this set and thought to myself – what is up with these feathers. I guess I just am not into trends like that. I liked the sentiments but just not sure about the feathers. Now the Perfectly Wrapped set is more suited to me and I like the kit too. I think the Emerald Envy Baker’s Twine needs to come to my house – I think I would use it a lot esp for the holidays.
Have a great time and a safe holiday everyone!
July 1st! Time to start making Christmas cards!
Caleb and I love all the special touches to this beautiful card! My favorite is the texture you added to the Delightful Dijon and Caleb liked the burlap added with the bakers twine. I admit that I didn’t like the Moroccan DSP at first but you’ve shown it can be used beautifully in small doses. I, too, buzzed by the Feather Together stamp set at first but it’s gotten my attention now–I can see myself using the sentiments a lot. I’m happy you’ll have two of your three peeps home over the weekend. I’m sure Hannah will have a different perspective on coming home now since she’s out in the real world after college. Having you as her mother, though, she’s following a great lead and I’m confident she is thriving! Hugs and Happy 4th of July! Be safe, everyone. 🙂
Happy First of July to you too! I had to laugh about the feather set and that you passed it up because it ididn’t have matching dies. Remember when we used to fussy cut EVERYTHING?! We’re so spoiled now. I am hoping to be part of the $75+ order club this month. I’ve put off ordering from the new catalog long enough! Plus I really need that card you made. It is too cool!
