Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for September 2016. We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our new 2016 Blog Hop monthly themes. This month our projects represent our favorite year end Season. It may be Autumn, Winter, Halloween, Thanksgiving or Christmas (and maybe even a combination!) We hope to provide you with lots of ideas and that you enjoy our creations.
You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below. The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.
I love this topic for our hop today BUT….it was hard to pick what is my favorite! I decided to go with Fall as HANDS DOWN this is my favorite season of the year! I adore seeing the colors that nature gives us…I adore the crisp and cool nights….I adore apples and soft and chewy Ginger Cookies….and I love having “good hair days” with the absence of the East Coast humidity!
The stamp set I used is Basket of Wishes Photopolymer and I admit, I totally overlooked it in the catalog until a customer ordered it with her PAW PRINTS rewards and when I saw it – WOW….this is a great set! (you see – YOU ALL ENABLE me as well!) 🙂
The star of the show today is the Aqua Painter! I will be honest with you….I stamped this image (4) times on scraps pieces of Thick White Cardstock because I thought I might need “trial runs” – BUT…I did this on the 1st take!
The Aqua Painter is a super tool that “just does it”…and the best advice I can give you is….go for it! Look at the colors of ink that you have and just go to town! I have listed at the end the colors that I used and true it looks like a bunch but I just use a little here and a little there!
Here is a closer look…and you can see where the “sketchy” lines are…I use a darker color…I am not sure if that it what I am to do – but I do! This is the thing that I LOVE about card making….no rules – just have FUN!
The card is a 4 1/4″ square and then I added the Always Artichoke Polka Dots Paper from the Regals Stack….and it is funny – I never used this color in my water-coloring – a point that I want to make it just have fun and mix up colors to what you like! (I knew that if I used the Always Artichoke in the water-coloring, it would be too dark)
If you are new to my blog, welcome…..but one thing that my daily subscribers know…I love my envelopes! Today I made a fun color envelope with the In Color Envelope Paper and the Envelope Punch Board.
Here is a tip…the measurements for a 4 1/4″ Square Card are not on the punch board but here you go! I have a sticky note on the bottom of my Punch Board so I do not forget!
- A 7 1/4″ Square
- Punch, score and rotate at 3 5/8″
- PRESTO — a perfect envelope!
Here is a visual, 411 – Directory Assistance photo for you to PIN away for the future! I did use the sentiment of “Giving Thanks for the Blessing of You” in the inside of the card – to me the perfect finishing tough that will surely make someone smile!

Beautiful fall card! The colors you picked out are gorgeous and vibrant….perfect for the upcoming season. I love how you did the shadowing under the basket. It gives it depth and just that little “umph” needed. Well done, Susan!
I love your card. This set wasn’t on my radar screen either but now it sure is. You had me at that sentiment “giving thanks for the blessing of you”. Do you ever buy a set just for the sentiment? I confess, I do.
Let’s hear it for better hair days ahead! Hmmm.. I wonder if SU will make that a sentiment stamp in a fall set! Lol. Great day to you and all.
Love how you colored this stamp image, Susan!!
Your card is absolutely gorgeous!! Awesome job. I was so excited yesterday to check out the clearance rack that I realize now I didn’t leave a comment about your puppy pictures. We were all laughing out loud at both photos, but especially loved the Jack Russell who was meditating. Have a great day!
Absolutely fabulous card! I love the colors, yes, even the Always Artichoke! I though I had everything I could possibly want from the holiday catty. Let the enabling continue……. ?
I love this stamp set and you did an amazing job….really nice
Oh my! You knocked this one out of the park!! Your water coloring is perfection! One would never know that you don’t know what you’re doing – LOL! Well done – love it!!
Classic Susan! What a beautiful work of art.
Hi Susan! I love this card. I’ve tried using the Blender Pen to color this same image, but yours turned out so much brighter than mine. I’ll have to try the Aqua Painter – it really looks like it makes the difference. Thanks for sharing ~ can’t wait to give it a try!
In my “basket of wishes” is a wish to be as talented as you are! Lovely!
Love today’s card and really enjoyed the “Blog Hop” too. So many great ideas.
Beautiful card, Susan. I love your coloring of the veggies and basket, plus the linen thread bow. It all goes perfectly with the Always Artichoke DSP. Love it.
This is beautiful! Fabulous water coloring and the little bow is great!
This set has been hanging out in the back of my mind. Also has some good sentiments 🙂 Gorgeous card
Gorgeous Susan!!!!!!
This card is just beautiful! You need to do a video on watercoloring! Mine never looks as nice! I need lessons. Thanks for sharing your amazing talent!
LOVE that basket of wishes set. As soon as I saw it I thought I must have it. It reminds me of the old style SU stamps. Your card is an awesome way to show it off.
The use of Always Artichoke was brilliant. It really allows your painted image to be highlighted. Gorgeous card!
This is if not my favorite then very close to my favorite card you’ve made this year! The colors are rich and vivid and what a beautiful job with the aqua painter! Stunning Susan!
Your card is just stunning Susan. This is such a versatile stamp useable all year long! Great pointers about using your aqua pen too. I’ll give it a try.
Love the way you put this card together, Susan. I have this set too but didn’t think to feature the basket the way you have. I may case this if it’s ok with you 🙂
Fantastic card… thank you for sharing!
Tisket a tasket, I love your little basket! I hemmed and hawed around when I saw the stamp set in the catalog but decided I have a basket stamp set, well, I am pretty sure I do. I am so behind but I have to check out the hop too. Love your coloring and the artichoke goes with the goodies in the basket!
I have eyed this set from the start–this card is a wonderful example of why! Maybe you could do it as a stamp of the month kit for us!
Beautiful, I had not noticed it either. You did a wonderful job making it.
Awe…thanks! I think makes fall cards are JUST FUN!!!
Very cool. Love the polka dots!
