Woot – Woot….let’s all get up and do that HAPPY STAMPIN’ UP! DANCE as today the Stitched framelits are back online and available to order! Stampin’ Up! was B L O W N away with the response of these gems….(but dah…..if they asked me they would have seen me doing the dance saying YES – YES – YES……we want them!) 😀 just saying!
They sold out like hot cakes and if I have a hunch, I bet that they are going to sell again super quick! These will be in the next years Annual Catalog so there are not worries about them being on the “plank” but heck – even if they were…..who cares??? They are great, they are keepers and it is as easy as this = YOU NEED THEM!
Because of all of the great comments about the Sale -A -Bration items…I just had to have Phyllis and her friend make an appearance! Now we need to come up with a name for the “new chick” 😛
I used masking paper to stamp the image. I used to RUN as fast as I could when I heard the phrase, masking as I thought – WELL , THAT LEAVES ME OUT.….this sounds over my head but it is not…it is easy and just like anything else, if you have the right materials to make it work…you are golden!
I love using Inkadinkado Masking Paper and it is on sale right now as an “add on” with Amazon…so go ahead and put it in your cart but WAIT TO CHECK OUT until tomorrow as I have a Tuesday Tip that I think you are going to love and yep, it is from Amazon!
This masking paper will last you forever. I am still on my 1st pack so just order one. True, you could easily use post it note to mask off but I like this as you can get several stamps from this masking paper. I simply keep the images on the inside of my stamp set so they are ready for the next time!
Here is a quick run down….
- Picture #1 – Stamp the image on the WHITE side of the paper
- Picture #2 – “Fussy Cut” out the images….YIKES – where are the legs on Phyllis…they are too hard to cut….you can easily stamp them!
- Pictures #3 – I already stamped “no name CHICK on the right” and then put the mask over top and then stamped Phyllis 🙂
You can see how I stamped and then added our girl! Today I used the aqua painter to paint the girls and then I ADORE the grass……it is from the sheltering tree but it you do not have that stamp set….simply wisp away with the brush ends of you markers and you are good to go!
This is MY KINDA layout. I love working with shapes and I think that you simply cannot go wrong with a good old simple squares! Using the stitched squares as my base focal point worked…ALWAYS does…this is why I love working with shapes!
Now I ask you….it is cute…right????? I know that this has been a HUGE hit for a FREEBIE….so much that the Wood Mount are on backorder (and I really do not know if they will replenish them as they are a SAB item but the clear mount are available….so DON’T WAIT!!!! (the girls would not be happy if they did not come to your home) 😀
I was super excited that the stitched framelits are “good to go” and I do hope that you will act on them quickly! They are soooo on trend and I do hope that Stampin’ Up! comes out with even MORE stitched items….I LOVE THEM!
That’s it – it was a busy crazy weekend but here is to a NEW week! I have some fun things up my sleeve….tomorrow is TIPS for your TUESDAY!!!! See you back here – front and center!
p.s. – did you notice poor Phyllis, I think we need to be a good friend to her and let her know that she needs to get her hair done….her “roots” are looking pretty bad 🙂

Her friend should be Lola.
Since Phyllis is an old fashioned name, how about her friend Harriet? Super cute card today featuring them! You did great with the masking too~
How about Phyllis and Fanny! Love the alliteration. Absolutely adorable “stitched” card!
I am going to toss my idea in the ring—Henrietta!
I’m with Sue. I was going to suggest Henrietta Hen.
Love this card! The stitched squares look great and the “girls” gave me a big smile this morn. As for a name, i was thinking of Myrtle but I had an Aunt Harriet who resembled this chick so I agree with Roberta’s choice. Can’t wait to hear from Chris R. Keep smil’n and enjoy the day!
Oh Susan, I love a good roaring laugh in the morning! Thanks! I was thinking Esther or Philomena but I LOVE Fanny! Awesome card!!!
Count me with the Henrietta folks!
How cute is this card ! I think BERTHA suits this chubby chick ! Thanks for the nudge to buy actual masking paper . I have planned on getting it because I have seen on various posts that it is far better than the “Do It Yourself ” ones. I will start my cart at “Ammie” . Can`t wait for Tuesday`s Tip !
How funny you are with the “Roots” comment ….snicker /giggle !!!
I was thinking “Frankie,” but, really, “Fanny” is perfect!
Was playing with Phyllis and the gals yesterday. I thought this one looked like a Hilda and the plain hen Helen. Had a great time just thinking of different ways to color them. I like the light yellow. Like the patchwork background with them, too. It adds a little touch of country. Fun card today.
Cute, cute card. I should put in an order today! I went to look for different H-female names . . . just something less common. Here is my input . . . Heidi or Hyacinth. Ha. Ha. Ha.
🙂
Absolutely adorable card. How about Bea or Beatrice (as in Bea Arthur). Those chicks both have attitude!
I was thinking Penelope until I read the comments…Harriet or Henrietta seem better now~ lol~! She reminds me of a Harriet I once knew!!!! Funny story about this Harriet…she made the BEST sugar cookies, BUT she would never share her recipe. One day there were some ladies standing around talking & someone told about another lady who made something delicious but wouldn’t share her recipe. Harriet piped in & said how awful so my Mom quickly said, “Can I get your sugar cookie recipe?”!!! And she gave it to her! We made them again at Christmas time 🙂 Harriet has been gone for many years now, but we still get a laugh about this fun story & enjoy her cookies! 🙂 So Harriet is my vote!!! They look like a couple of gossiping old gals! Haha
I am still chuckling over Robyn’s comment about “playing with Phyllis and the gals!” yesterday. Instinct favors Henrietta since she is a fine specimen of a hen but I am going outside the chicken coop a little and nominating Beulah and Effie for one of my aunts who actually took a fry pan to my uncle once according to my mom. Effie was my grandma’s name. But I am still pecking around at some other names like Bea or Beatrice and another aunt, Adelade which can double as a laying hen! Too bad we decided they are females as we had a bunch of Phyllis DIller’s male cohorts as names previously. Eunice was another family member’s name that came up. My Grandma Effie’s chickens used to chase me when I was a kid on her farm. I have no idea what their names were as I was running for my life! Dorothy, Nell and Birdie are some others that come to mind. Sonny suggested Bertha which is o.k. too. Myrtle though is cute but I always think of Myrtle the Turtle story.
The card is cute and maybe her roots aren’t showing but she had a highlights! Love the use of the stitched pieces and the colors are so fun.
Is everyone staying safe with the ice? Are’s so far has not been that bad and it is raining now and 34 degrees. The sidewalk still has a lot of ice even though we put out some de-icer. Ted took a little spill but he is so close to the ground it was hard to tell if he did fall.
I agree…let’s save Myrtle for the next turtle stamp! ?
Such a fun card! Love your duo, love the stitched edges, and LOVE ❤️ the color selections. So many smiles!
looks like a Lottie Mae to me…being from the from the south and all!!! She’s probably the town gossip oops I mean information officer…Phyllis is spot on…when I showed my husband the set he said she looked like Phyllis Diller to him!!! I think the plain chicken Raelene…fun set
My mother’s name was Phyllis and her best friend was Netta, so I have to go with Netta. Love the card. It is so cute. TFS
I love the card and the name discussion. Being a librarian, I’ll throw a couple names from the annals of children’s literature: Tillie (“Tillie Lays an Egg” by Terry Golson who has hen friends named Edwina, Prudence, Buffy, Marge and Ginger, none of whom are as adventurous as Tillie); Daisy (“Daisy Comes Home” by ever-popular Jan Brett); and Minerva (“Minerva Louise” by JM Stoeke). Too bad the little red hen didn’t have a given name in her story–this chick could be her (might need to MASK her on an apron though!)
Who wrote the Henny Penny Chicken book?
It’s commonly considered a folk tale, not attributed to any one person. Some sources date it back 25 centuries. Henny would be a good name
Thanks Susan – I didn’t know that it was considered a folk tale. That is interesting. Then there is the Hennipen Canal – now I need to check that out. Amazing what we can learn on these blogs!
My choice for Phyllis’ friend’s name is Felicia. It was the first name that came to my mind when I saw the title of your post. (Although, I really thought the floppy-haired chick was more the Felicia type…LOL!)
LOVE the masked chickies….they are adorable and thanks for the tip on the amazon add on for the masking paper. I am always using post its and they don’t really hold up that well to multiple stampings. I have already popped that info my cart to ride along for free with my next order!
Super fun card and post Susan. I was going to suggest my grandmother’s name, Sylvia, but she hated chickens and wouldn’t appreciate my suggestion. My other grandmother was Martha, not sure of her views on chickens. However, the ladies have left some fabulous suggestions and I think Netta is my favorite.
Cute cute card. How about Patrice or Gladys?
I think a good name would be Bessie.
This card is so cute.
I will need to resort to the post it paper. I do not shop at Amazon.
Henrietta was the first name that popped into my head as soon as I saw Phylis with her BFF. Love your card. Can hardly wait for my girls to arrive.
I love your card with all the stitched squares and the chicks. They make a cute duo! I’m getting some masking paper. I always have something I “need” from Amazon! I go with others suggestions of Henrietta.
When I saw Phyllis, Henrietta was the first name I thought of. I see I wasn’t alone. The chick really looks like a Henrietta.
“ZAZU” (Zazu Pitts, old movie actress).
She looks like a Mona B. Good to me.
The first name that came to mind when I saw this post and the Hens was her name should be Hattie. I work of a local transportation company and I have this one patient that I transport and this Hen reminds me of her. Hattie is the way she spells her name. It is not even short of anything other name. Just Hattie.
Fanny is a perfect name for this sassy hen. I vote for Fanny…..or, how about Edwyna, (that’s Ed-ween-a). Isn’t this just the cutest stamp set? I can’t wait to make some fun cards.
I will add my pick….”Ada”, which was Phyllis Diller mid name. 🙂
I love all the different names suggested but automatically thought of the name Gertrude (Gertie) for short. What a pair these girls are.
Mary.
