Well my friends….here you go! There is not too much to say other than same basic card with a twist….If you missed yesterday’s post –CLICK HERE and you will see the Simple Saturday version and today….we have it “stepped up a bit” 🙂
You know I often blog about not being afraid of using your DSP……because truth be told – I KNOW YOU HAVE IT….and YOU PROBABLY HAVE A BUNCH OF IT.….so – USE IT!
\
When I stamped the cards for this weekend – I did the EXACT same thing on both cards and decided to just stand back….look at it and GO FOR IT!
I loved the simplicity of this DSP from the Succulent Garden DSP Collection. It is bold, it is FUN!. All I did was cut 5 rows of “dots” and adhered it to the stamped base that is 5 1/4″ X 4″.
I places a strip of Fast Fuse on the back where the DSP is and then placed 3 pieces of White Bakers Twine and the make a triple bow and adhered it to the front with anchoring it with a glue dot.
Chris R. – you did get this correct….I added Wink of Stella over the black insides of the flowers….I know – it is super hard to see in the photos but trust me, it is “just the right touch” to make an impact!
Well….my vote – TODAY’S card….WHY???? I know that the pictures do not give it the love it deserves….but that splash of fun really looks stunning with the bold flowers!
I invite you to give it a try….no worries if you do not have this stamp or the specific DSP….USE WHAT YOU HAVE….and give it a whirl. You can see that it is very simple yet has a classic feel.
Here is your picture to pin. I suggest that you find some “me time” and try using a bold DSP with a stamp. Trust me. at first you are going to think it looks wonky but just keep going….remember, it is HANDMADE, not HALLMARK and it is a WORK FROM YOUR HEART.
We had a beautiful day yesterday, it was unseasonably warm and it was great to see the sunshine….BUT….when it is warm that means – OFF COME THE HORSES BLANKETS…..and they love it….and they roll, for them it is preferably in mud….which means….when they come in……grooming – re-blanketing because it dips down in temperatures and I have this incredible patient husband looking at me saying, “You do not feel well…is this really necessary????….and then he caves in and says – I’ll help because I know you will not sleep worrying about them”
He is the best – and we are still are considering buying stock in Kleenex but we are hanging in there…..actually it is kind of funny as we both as sniffling together so it is hard to get the “male sympathy” from me!
Enjoy your day…remember, if you like this stamp set soooooo much – it can be yours FREE with a $50.00 purchase and if your order is $75+ you will also get a versamark ink pad from me!
I offer a very generous rewards program so if you like free stamp sets…than I’m your gal!

I love them both — So pretty! Sorry you are still not feeling well and I hope you and your hubby are back to your old selves soon! You two are quite a team, I must say. And your animals are so darned lucky to have you! Take good care of each other and feel better soon!
You are too sweet – I will say that I am blessed – John was the BEST blind date I was ever on and he is sooooo supportive! We are feeling better!
both versions . . . spectactular!
Thanks Mary…I have learned from the PRO!
Hi Susan, I am so sorry you and John are still not feeling well. Hope today is better. Both cards are clean and crisp! Love the colors. I like the added DSP and string. Love how it matches the envelope too.
🙂
I like them both but yesterday’s card just “spoke ” to me. I think adding some wink of Stella to yesterday’s card would be fabulous!
I hear you and I can see your point – you know that I adore white….and the wink of stella….an instant WOW!
You know me, I love my envelopes – it is all about bringing them together….I hear that you are to get MORE SNOW – I say YUCK!
Nice touch with the DSP….it really works!! My favorite part is the use of not one, not two, but three strands of white baker’s twine!!!! I will be copying that for sure!!!!! Happy Sunday, Susan. Hope you and John turn the corner today and start feeling better. ?
I say while you have it out….keep on going! I love the effect of multiple bakers twine!
oooooh, I love them both! Lets see, if I had to pick…. I really am a clean and simple gal so I guess I go for Saturday’s BUT I do LOVE the DSP and the cute three strands of bakers twine!!!! I would love to CASE this for a stamp class I have at my house if that is ok!!!
Ramsey…you are just SUNSHINE from the East!!!!
Great use of DSP. I like how you separated it with the twine and the wink of stella gives it that special twinkle (like our Chris R….she’s our twinkle). Love both cards! Feel better soon but for now get a blanket and cuddle with John (and a box of Kleenex).?
Thanks Mary Ann! I had to read that twice to make sure it wasn’t a Twinkie as I am overstuffed like a Hostess Twinkie with a lot of hot air like a spongey dessert!
You are sooo funny!
You are a mess….that is why we love you SOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
You have that right, Chris R is our HUGE TWINKLE!
Wow! What a difference a little DSP & baker’s twine makes. I like both cards, but Sunday’s card is fabulous! TFS. Hope you feel better soon.
thanks…it is amazing how a POP of DSP can make a difference!
yep! Today’s card is fabulous. Now back to bed so you can feel better.
That was a great thought…..a comfy bed on a rainy day – YES…..but that did not happen…but we are feeling better…thanks for popping in!
I am voting for today’s card. Both cards bring a smile to my face, but the DSP really makes everything come together. Hope you are feeling better soon.
Thanks Robyn for popping it. I know that there are times that we have this gorgeous DSP but we are afraid to use it…I admit, I was a bit fearful that it might be “too much” but I think that it worked. Best tip – just play around and try to stretch yourself!
I love the clean look of yesterday’s but that DSP really makes it pop for me. I have so much DSP b/c I don’t think/know to use it in ways like this! TFS. Feel better soon!
You know that I adore a white card as I think lots of white space is so classic but there was something about the DSP that won my heart this weekend with the challenge! I am feeling better, thanks…..colds and me do not do well together as I just do not like to slow down!
What a beautiful card! I love the simplicity yet so dynamic! The colors just are stunning. Thanks for sharing your creativity and inspiration.
Thanks Carol, I love circles and I think that the circles in the DSP is just a fun smile factor!
Love them both – can’t really choose as they are both wonderful.
You made me smile with your comment – You sound like John as I will always ask him – which one do you like best? He always answers…..I like them both!
For two cards from the same design aesthetic, they are sure different. I love the drama of the white space on yesterday’s card; it packs as much of a punch as the gorgeous DSP on today’s card. Two winners certainly.
Hope all the residents of Randall Lane are feeling better soon! You’re in our thoughts.
That’s what great about the weekend challenges….it is fun to look back at them and see that we are working with the same concept…just adding or taking away…..I admit, they are fun to try to come up with!
Today’s! Sometimes “less is more,” but this week “more is better” — well done, indeed! (Hope you’re feeling better, both of you. Here, Roger had THE.WORST.COLD.EVER. the week before I developed “the pale imitation” … if you get my drift.)
I GOT your drift and I feel it. I will say….it is rare that we have have colds at the same time because I think that I rained on his parade….men are NOT the best patients! Thanks for popping in – YOU were to one that taught ME not to be afraid of using DSP!
Pretty ! I like today`s version a lot BUT ! I think yesterday`s card is my favorite. I was thinking that the Avant flowers might look good with the Blooms and Bliss dsp because the flowers in it are similar in shape ! ( see Sonny do Happy dance ! ) Also ….what green did you use for the leaves and sentiment ??? I really like how fresh the sentiment looks in green . I am thinking maybe Cucumber Crush or Garden Green or Emerald Envy .
Hope you are feeling SOME better!! .
You are sooooo right! The Blooms and Bliss would have been a great option as the shapes are very similar but you know me, I am rather traditional/boring and love simple shapes and the bold dots one me over! The green is Cucumber Crush! I do not use that a bunch (and I really do not know why as it is a beautiful color)
My vote goes to today’s card with the DSP (yes, I need to use mine more) and white twine really make it pop. Don’t get me wrong I would be happy to send or receive either one. Those bright flowers make me hope spring is around the corner. Stay warm, drink liquids and I hope you’re back to your normal real soon!
I think that the white twine helps to separate the “spaces” of the card and I agree with you, I hope Spring is around the corner but remember, that darn little ground hog last week….he told us that there is 6 more weeks of Winter!
As Georgette said, “Less is More”. I have to vote for Saturday’s card. I find the addition of the Succulent Garden DSP just too overwhelming. It takes away (IMHO) from the simple beauty of the flowers. Sorry 🙁
Please do not be sorry…this is what it is all about – seeing different ways and sharing. I truly appreciate your feedback. The flowers are the focal point and perhaps the DSP took away from their sheer beauty!
Well, both are pretty darn good in my thinking. Yesterday’s had just a bit too much white for me and that made me a bit nervous and I started thinking what could she do to get rid of a bit of that white! But, I really did like the card. I like the DSP added today but maybe 3 rows of the dots instead of 5 but then that might look a bit off kilter too but I like the matching look with the envelope. The flowers are what steal the show anyway and they are pretty! Hope everyone is feeling better there seems to be a lot of flu, colds, and bronchitis out there and all seems to hang on forever. Ted wants to take a walk and I think I will go knock on some wood that I don’t catch any bugs!
Well….from what the news says – there is a bug that is hitting all over! I know that there was a school that was closed because over 50% of the kids were sick – that must be a huge downfall of being a teacher – you are always around a bunch of germs!!!! I am glad that we agree of the envelope – that’s a keeper!!!! Go play with Teddy
Love both versions! Delicious colors. Power punch use of simple masking.
You’ve solved my problem! I made some Avant Garden cards last night and they lacked something…. it is the wink of stella in the stamens (or pistils or whatever piece of flower that is). I never got around to see Saturday’s post (took a non-computing day) but I knew I could see it here. I agree, the stepped up version has the extra oomph that takes it over the top.
