Good morning! I have a card for you today and it is super easy (but I think that it is super fun…just sayin’) and then at the end of the post I have a funny for you about Milo! This is a quick post as there is not much to say but EASY-PEASY!
I know that you all get this….that DARN TIME THING….it happens to all of us and I was looking at the paper that I have YET to put away (the NEW Pick a Pattern DSP) and I will say, I love it! (you might want to remember that for in the future Blog Candy Trivia) but I admit, I had a tough time “giving up the other side of the paper” – as I love them BOTH!
Stampin’ Up! does have great paper and I know that we all get so excited to see, feel and use the new goodies….well…that tile will be here in a SNAP so until then, let me spoil you with sneak peaks of what is to come!
Clean and simple is the name of todays game as it is the easiest card to make! Just think of the endless DSP’s that you can use and also the cardstock colors that would work!
The green that I used today was Pear Pizzazz, I will admit that I used to forget about this paper but over the past year I have used it more and more. Do you ever do that? Go through waves of using a color over and over and then totally ignoring others 🙄
I started with the thick white cardstock and then put a piece of Pear Pizzazz over the whole front. WHY did I do it that way? Well…..EASY – I really like a solid feeling card in my hand and the weight of our heavy weight card stock is perfect. (Remember, we are getting THICK VERY VANILLA in the new catalog) 😀
Now let’s chat about the Happy Birthday die….is this in your I JUST HAVE TO HAVE LIST? If not, I really think that it needs to be as this is one that will be an endless keeper as we all know having an image like this creates an INSTANT CARD…..just like I I am sharing with you today!
I used SticK It on the back of the paper before I fan it through Mr. Big and here is another WOOT-WOOT for you – in the NEW catalog we are having a double sided product like Stick It…so there you go – another MUST HAVE for your list! (I am sorry, am I your enabler?)
You have to admit, this is easy but it is classic. The only element in this card that is not flat are the embellishments…..they are green dew drops that I purchased from Pretty Pink Posh and I love the fun and modern feel that they give.
Here is a quick shot of the paper – I do adore it that we have 2 sides so if there is a side that you do not care for as much – FLIP IT and use the other BUT….I am stuck as I LOVE BOTH OF THESE….oh well, guess I will just have to buy more paper as after all, I get it at 25% off. I am just thrilled with this collection and I am getting excited to do a product share for the new catalog.
I am “clickin’ my heels” with the simplicity and sheer fun of this card today! This IS a die cut that needs to be on your very 1st order as we all can agree that this is a classic! (If I were you….I would get a piece of paper out and start writing down things that you see before your catalog comes to you next week)
You can see that there are not many products on your picture to PIN but that is a GOOD THING because than you can see that it is super easy to make. Let color make the card – sometime we over think things and if we just say – FUN & DONE…..it can work!
Now to Milo…Mr. PERFECT MILO – right now he has a new name, MILO THE MURDERER. Wednesday evening was picture perfect beautiful on the East Coast and I kept saying to John, look at Milo – he is just looking out the window (he was on the sofa staring out for literally hours) – when it was time for us to go to bed and naturally it was dark then…..John let the dogs out to have a final potty break.
When he came back to our room I said, where is Mr. Perfect? John said, I figured he was back with you….NOPE – so back out John went and then I heard him say (rather loudly) – COME HERE….you have to see this – my dear sweet perfect Milo and a baby bunny that now was his toy in his mouth and I wish that you could have seen his face……it was like he was BEAMING WITH PRIDE and that tail was going a mile a minute.
Naturally we opened the door and said DROP IT…and the great murderer he was he did so and then I exited quickly because I just do not do well with situations like this…..then I could hear John mumbling and mumbling and when he finally came back he said, well YOUR PERFECT DOG….not only took out 1 bunny….he brought the family up!
Milo usually sleeps with us….but not this night, John put him in a kennel and said – YOU SLEEP IN A CELL TONIGHT and think about what you did….and the best thing was…on Thursday morning when we woke up John said, YOUR SENTENCE IS NOT UP and YOU HAVE BEEN DENIED BAIL….. 😀
All is good now….he is back to being Mr. Perfect and that makes me happy. Things like this happen in the Spring….and trust me, it is not the first and not the last that my fur babies will bring me their trophies! The above picture was him the “day after the kill” as he was so tired from being in jail all night, he much prefers our bed!
I hope to see you back tomorrow…as I am going to play with another “newbie” – It is FUN to have new toys and I admit change is hard and also change sometimes makes us step out of the box…..I like stepping out of the box…how about YOU!??!
Have a great dat!

I adore this card – Simple is BEST! Milo is such a cutie pa-tootie…. he was just doin’ what comes naturally after all.
Thanks Debbie…this is my kinda card….simple, bold yet classic! Milo is a good boy and I know – he is doing what he needs to do but for now…he is Milo the Murderer!
What a cute card that is super easy to make! I love this new die and that DSP. Stay dry! It’s supposed to be very rainy today. Have a good one, Susan!
This is a FABULOUS new die and a timeless one! I am prepared to be a duck this weekend!
Great card and use of DSP! Can it wait for the catalog. Milo looked so innocent in the picture! Loved your story and the reference to jail and bail. I’m sure the other fur babies were planning a jail break just in case. Have an adventurous day! ?
I thought that this would be right up your alley…..you are going to enjoy this paper collection. Milo always looks so sweet and innocent (and he really is) but let me tell you…..when he needs to stand up and be a BIG BOY….he can hang with the BIG DOGS!
Love love Pear Pizzazz ! ! Yes, that stamp and that dsp are on my list !! I am trying to be sensible and practical with my orders and I know that stamp will be used not only because it`s pretty and big ,but it is a quick card for a must have a birthday card (that you just found out )
Now that Milo is a twin to my sweet (departed years ago ) Gretchen ! I always wondered how Doxies could get those Badgers they were used for in Germany years ago !! Sorry about baby bunny ,but look at the smile on Milo`s face as he dreams of his capture. My GS`s Beagle is giving the bunnies a fit also. She caught a squirrel recently that freaked everyone out !! That tail wagged almost off the hook in excitement !!!
Fun story and great card ! TFS !!
Happy Friday !
Hey Sonny, the happy birthday is not a stamp but a thinlet die. Just think, you could run a bunch of colors through the Big Shot and keep them for emergency b-day cards. Add DP and ready to go in the mail or hand out! To embellish or not, that is the question!
I am so happy that I have been using Pear Pizzazz more often as it does go with so much and it instantly “brightens” a project! They might be little dogs but they are mighty! He had a squirrel last year and he was wagging so hard that the tail of the poor squirrel was going back and forth – I just scream loud and they drop it and then I call for John to the rescue! (what a great guy he is)
That HB due is a must have. Great way to get a quick birthday card make up and use up some DSP that you don’t know what to put with it. Some of the bigger bolder images on the DSP just have me stumper. Not any more after June 1!
This is what I would do….when you are overloaded and overwhelmed with scraps of paper….just cut this die out and you will be good to go – it also would be a great gift to give to a fellow stamper – a bunch of die cuts cut out and some DSP – you will be their hero!
Love the Pear Pizzazz with the black DSP! Great elegant card! As for the murderer, my stepmom would love Milo and be breaking him out of jail! She says those baby bunnies become plant and flower murders! I am with you but you have more discipline than I do. My Leelee would still be in bed with me after a good wash down!!! Yucky rainy day here today! Great day for stampin!!! But NO Burger Cookies!!! On a anti sugar binge after Easter!
It is funny….we usually do not have many bunnies – we always have squirrels and they drive the dogs nuts but at the rate Milo is going….he is not going for one – he is taking out the whole family!
NO BURGER COOKIES – have you lost your chocolate mind…they are the best ! Stamp away my friend!
Hi Susan, I’m not sure exactly how I came to your blog but I have popped in from time to time. I love your cards but I’m crazy about your animals and their stories. Milo looks so sweet and happy!I have a beagle that tries so hard to catch the bunnies in our yard but she just can’t. This new paper is wonderful and I love the design.
Hello and I am soooo happy that you found my blog – I know that it is a bunch of “this and that” but that is how I roll….I love stampin….I love my animals….I love to inspire and teach you…..and I love my blog family! I hope that you will pop back!
Fun and Done! Like that. The green and the black look so sophisticated. I agree with Ramsey. Those bunnies can be a pain and sometimes expensive in your garden, especially when you end up replacing the things they have ruined. Remember Peter Rabbit and Mr. McGregor.
Hi Robyn and happy weekend!!! I had to chuckle with your comment….that Peter Rabbit sure did get poor old Mr. McGregor. Bunnies do not get to me like moles do….those darn little things makes a trek through a lawn like caddyshack! –
Fun card and like you say, easy peasy! I plan on zipping up some of them in various colors to keep on hand for fast and easy cards. I just would have to spend time on deciding on embelishments or not!
I am the one who needs to be in the kennel. A bird had been in my Christmas wreath on the porch. I looked at the top part of the wreath and didn’t see anything remotely like a nest. Or, even the bottom of the big wreath. I finally took it down to put up tulips for the festival. There was a lot of bird poop on the wall by the door so we decided the bird just used it as a safe haven maybe with no nest. Well, I put it on the chair to take in the next day. Well, for some reason I turned it over and there at the bottom of the wreath woven through the metal frame was the nest and four baby birds that she must not have fed that day maybe. They had fuzzy down on them and were scrawny but all were dead and recently too. I felt so bad. The mother was a small bird and zoomed by so fast each time we opened the door that we don’t know what kind they were. Then, out in the yard I found two broken eggs with 2 little birds dead in half of the shells. They looked so tiny. Those eggs were blue with brown speckles. So, I have 6 dead baby birds to deal with. Oh, Milo I wish I felt as good as you did about the dead babies!
Well the tour wagons are out and going past the house with the spielers telling of the sights. At least they didn’t say we were the house of bird killers! I had better get Ted his walk before throngs of people upset him. I had forgotten that last year he went to camp while I had my eye surgery so he had missed most of Tulip Time with the thousands of extra people and all the noise.
Chris, your story is horrifying. Thank you for sharing (cuz you’re not alone). However, I’m calling the tour guide company right now and telling them to be sure to point out the house of the bird mass murderer! (they can charge extra that way) My kitty once brought me a baby bunny, not quite dead so i had to dispatch it…. Ugh. Terrible. We can share pass kites on baby animal murders row.
The house across the street gets most of the attention as like the oldest one in town and has these star shaped irons that hold the whole brick house up. It is on the national register as a few others on our block. Our house is 98 this year I think. The college kids all say this is Teddy’s house or where Teddy lives.
We don’t need a sign of shame – we are the house with the ladders in front all year round!
My next door neighbor has been trapping and killing the squirrels. They are destroying his beautiful maple tree. I will let him take the lead on murder row! I am still trying to figure out where all the bunnies are. But, Mike just bought a bunch of new plants so just as well they moved on. They were fun to watch at least.
Oh Chris and Judy – you are both too much. I just love how we all get onto different “life happenings” – and we all feel the pain. I will tell you…..(and just about daily this time of the year) we have those PESTY Barn Swallows and there seems to be a baby a day that has dropped from the rafters…..that totally grosses me out and dear John tries to go down before I do as he knows that I just can’t “scoop them up”
Maybe you should put a sign of shame on your house…that will make people wonder what is up!?!?!?! Hugs to you….bye-bye birdie!
Check out that yummy combination with Pear Pizzazz. The envelope is over the top cool!
You know me….I do love my envelopes!
Just love the color combo in this card–fresh, on tend and so sophisticated. Can’t wait to get that HB die cut.
Thanks for the Milo story–gotta love the trophies our fur babies present to us!
How can you go wrong with Black and White with a POP…..works each and every time!!! Fur babies bringing fur babies as trophies makes me sad. (but he was so happy)
Love the HB die, just pried mine off the double stick tape and slapped it onto a magnet sheet this morning. I think I’ll get a lot of use out of it. I often use “other cards” for birthdays, like generic cards and then stamp HB inside. Now I can use this die inside and it will look like it was meant to be a birthday card from the get go.
Love the pear green band black color combo. I think that is terrible that both sides of the DSP are so wonderful! You’ll definitely need 2 packs. Or maybe even 4. Or more!
YIPPEE…it landed to you! It is a keeper and I think that this is a “special weapon” for emergency Birthday Cards! LOVE IT….
Great idea Judy about putting it inside the card too. Speaking of magnetic sheets, nobody told me what size to get from that on line store as they have two sizes. Do you get both or just the bigger and have more space on some? Getting them off the card is such a pain and I am so worried they will bend, has anyone bent theirs?
Love your card! I really like the dsp and your layout.
My lovely dog (she says in a sarcastic tone) brought me a teeny tiny baby bunny once also. And then I found the nest with four others in it. I was sooooo upset. He had a good (sarcastic again) talking to. Then he had a bath, face washed about three times, teeth brushed and brushed again, and several peppermints after that. Can you tell I wasn’t very happy! It didn’t last very long. Love my little man!
I hear you…I hear you and I feel exactly where you come from! Isn’t it amazing how we give these guys a “talkin’ to” when they do things that are just an instinct to them….our hearts hurt and they are PROUD as a PEACOCK!
