Good Morning….oops….Good Afternoon!
(It happened again as I am with my Dad but he is doing great!)
I have a fun and colorful card of inspiration for you today….PLUS a chance to win BLOG CANDY!! You can tell by the colors that I am using that I am sooooo ready for Spring! I invite you to look at colors and just have FUN with combining them together.
One thing that I hope you can see right off the bat is that this card is all about the basics again! You know me…..that works for me and I never get tired of pointing that out to you, To be honest….I hadn’t put away the square framelits away from Tuesday as well as the Tutti-Fruit paper and I thought – challenge yourself to make something that is right in front of you!
When I say the basics….look at this….
- Whisper White Card Stock – yep….gotta have it in both Thick and Regular Weight.
- Trimmer – yep – need this too!…gotta have this for ease of making perfect cuts in all sizes and you can score as well!
- Big Shot – yep – of course!…true an investment….but one that you will buy once but use over and over! (I call mine “Mr. Big”)
- Square Framelits – yep-a basic!..another one time investment that you will use for your crafting lifetime!
- Sentiment Dies – yep again plus this is free, this is one thing that I am a HUGE LOVER of…..I just adore sentiment dies and my fingers are crossed that we keep coming out with more and more of them! The great thing about this one….you will get it FREE as it is a choice in the SAB Freebies!
- Sentiment Stamp Set – yep – I do love my sentiments!, when you are choosing stamps, go for the sentiments as you can always tuck a sentiment in here and there that are classic and timeless….just look at how many useful one are in this stamp set, Sunshine Wishes!
I am just a huge believer if you have the basics you can go from there and add as needed. I know that we all get super excited with buying more and more stamps….but I truly think that as you build your crafting collection you need to have the basic tools/supplies….and all of the ones that I listed above are ones that I would recommend as a must have!
Let’s have a little fun and how about some BLOG CANDY
What is the combination of basics that I have listed below that would get you to $124.50 (the maximum amount of product that you could get is $125) that you could choose as your “ultimate bundle” and just get it all for $99.00 (and it would ship for FREE)
On top of the savings…you would be able to pick any 2 stamp sets of your choice…YEP – ANY 2…and I always think it is super fun to hear what people pick….some go for the most $$$$$….some go for the newer ones….it’s completely your choice!
The 2 FREE STAMP OFFER is just good until March 31st……so each week until then….you will have 4 opportunities to guess what items from the list below (at the end of the post) would I pick that would add up to $124.50 for my starter kit is I was a newbie!
Each week until then I will be offering a different Blog Candy FREEBIE….this week it is the Tutti-Fruiti Notecard & Envelopes….and if we have multiple winners…I will honor it to the first 3 that guess it correctly! Have fun and see if we think the same! I will list the winner (s) on Saturdays post.
I think that you can see from this card that there are simple shapes (squares) and a sentiment. I stacked up several of the sentiment word and I do think that this adds a fun impact. Also adding dimensionals add depth and interest to this simple card.
I used some color inspiration from the Tutti-Fruiti 6X6 DSP….and I actually covered the entire front panel of an A-2 card and then I used the extra scrap to give the envelope some love.
There are 2 other additions that I used that are not Stampin’ Up! Products but ones that I consider great ones to have on hand….(actually I always have 2 white pens as I would be lost without it) and these fun and sassy blings….from Honey Bee.
I hope that this super clean card will inspire you to think about using minimal products…..lots of FUN color…..to create a card that would make anyone feel super special! This is truly a less is best example and one that would be easy to make up in the masses.
I hope that you have fun playing the “puzzle/challenge” to see in the below product line up….what I would pick to add up to $124.50! I will give you a hint…..the Big Shot is not one of the items item… ha-ha, well at least not this time 🙂 ……
If you wish, leave your guess in the comments and up to 3 will win the Tutti Fruiti Notecards & Envelopes! Have a great afternoon and remember, there is absolutely nothing wrong with be being simple in your style – I think that this is one sharp and fun card!
Hi Susan, thanks for this fun challenge! My guess is the $23 clear mount stamps, the $35 square framelits, the $30 paper trimmer, the $6.50 envelopes, $10 for Fast Fuse, $4. For dimensionals, and two packs of $8 paper: brights collection and lemon lime twist. Am I right?!
Oops! I meant Tutti Fruity paper instead of the Fast Fuse… sorry!
Oh what a fun card! My favorite go to are the stitched dies – I have them out all the time (just too lazy to put them away actually). This would be a great way to use up some scraps too. I will be CASEing this for sure!
Challenge: Clear mount Sunshine Sayings$23, Layering Square Framelits $35, paper trimmer $30, Whisper White medium envelopes $6.50, Whisper White cardstock regular and thick for $7 and $9, Fast Fuse $10 and one pack of dimensionals at $4 comes to $124.50.
I had to smile as I could see you ordering a ton of the dimensionals to equal that amount!
So glad to hear about your dad. I had just popped on my E-mail to send you a note wishing him hugs, well wishes, and prayers for a good outcome and speedy recovery. Before I could start I saw your post and had to read it! Hugs to all of you!!!
Love the colors on your card. I could use some spring cheery colors too as we’re having a gray day. As for what products to order to get to that amount. That sounds like higher math so here’s my guess on basics: squares $35, stamps $23, cutter $30, white CS reg and thick $16, envelopes $6.50, FF $10, dimensions $4, and don’t forget your free celebrate thinlet dies!
Fun and bright card! Love the colors. For the challenge: sunshine sayings $23, layering framelits $35, trimmer $30, envelopes $6.50, white paper reg and thick $16, dimensenioals $4, fast fuse $10. Have a sunny day!
Love your colors !! I am a huge fan of the stitched shapes dies . This card is really cute and refreshing for this time of the year ! A perfect card layout to use as a model to build many others for different events .
So glad your dad is doing well ! I feel liberated after getting out of the hospital last week (minus a kidney )so I can sympathize ….God bless !
WW c.s.9; WW thick 7;clear mount Sunshine Sayings 23.;trimmer 30;Layering squares 35; Tutti-Frutti dsp 10; dimensionals 4; envelopes 6.50 = 124.50 Well anyway, that’s what I would buy! Susan? LOL
Whisper white envelopes $6.50; Tutti Frutti paper $10; Sunshine clear mount stamps $23; layering squares $35; trimmer $30; dimensionals $4; Bermuda bay paper $8; Pacific Point paper $8
Oh—and I had written down the free celebrate dies on my “math sheet”, and I forgot to put that in my comment. Don’t forget the freebie!!
Hi Susan. Know that I continue to pray for your dad and you. Sunshine Sayings Wood Mount, Stampin Trimmer, Thick Whisper White Cardstock, Medium White Envelopes, Fast Fuse, Dimensionals, Tutie-Fruit DSP, Brights Cardstock, Subtle Cardstock, Regal Cardstock and the Celebrate You thinlits.
Oh what a bright and sunny card. Ok here goes. Square framelets $35; Sunshine Sayings set $23; Tuttu Frutti 6×6 $10; Trimmer $30; envelopes $6.50; Fast fuse $10; multi purpose adhesive sheets $10. Plus your free thinlet dies.
Oops let me try again since I added something not on the list. framelets $35; Trimmer $30; Envelopes $6.50; Dimensionals $4; Fast fuse $10; Pacific Point paper $8; Lemon Twist $8; Sunshine Sayings $23. Okay I stand corrected now ha ha Plus your freebie.
Glad your Dad is doing great. My guess would be the clear stamps, I know how you love the clear ones, the trimmer, the whisper white card stock in thick and regular, card stock in lemon lime twist, Tutti-Fruiti DSP,fast fuse, brights card stock, dimensionals, and envelopes. I seem to be $9 short so you can order another package of the whisper white card stock. Oh and of course you could get your thinlit dies, but since Mr. Big wasn’t in this challenge you would have to do another order. And that is how the crafting craze starts!
There seems to be many ways to reach 124.50! My list is surely different. I figure if I wanted the demo starter kit I would already have stamps…so no stamp set in my guess! I say the trimmer at $30 and the whisper white cardstock at $9 and the medium envelopes at $6.50 , the demensionals for $4., the squares framelits for $35.,and all five assorted paper packs for $40. I think I really like paper! Glad to know your dad is doing better.
Sorry….I did not make my choice of 5 packs of paper clear. I would choose the 5 assorted packs to get the most bang for my buck!
What fun!!! Fast Fuse, basic and thick white cardstock, trimmer, square framelits, sunshine sayings clear mount stamps, envelopes and dimensionals!!
Fun challenge! Sunshine Sayings clear, Squares framelits, Trimmer, white envelopes, fast fuse, dimensionals, In color Cardstock, Neutrals Cardstock and Celebrate You thinlits.
Hi Susan, and what a fun challenge for each of us! Cute card! Love your colors! Here is my guess: Sunshine Sayings Clear Mount-23.00, Layering Squares-35.00, Paper Trimmer-30.00, White & Thick White Cardstock-16.00, Envelopes-6.50, Fast Fuse-10.00, and lastly Dimensionals-4.00. Of course you would choose the Celebrate You Thinlits Dies for your Freebie! So there you have it! These are pretty basic to me. Have a Great day!
Hi Susan, Well, guessing what you would choose is really a puzzle, but, keeping in mind your suggestions about “basics” and getting the biggest bang for the buck, here goes: layering squares-35, trimmer-30,4 paper packs (brights, regals, neutrals, subtles)-32, whisper white regular CS-7, envelopes-6.50, fast fuse-10, dimensionals-4. You would choose the sunshine sayings stamp set as one of the 2 freebie stamps that SU offers as an enrollment bonus, and the celebrate you set would also be free, since I know you would be wise enough to enroll during SAB. OK. How’d I do? (P.S. So glad your dad is doing well.)
