Hello and I hope that you had a HIPPITY HOPPITY EASTER!

I know this idea is late…

but read on and you can see how I will send you one…

plus a template for the future!

I know, I know….Easter is now over and I told you that I had a SUPER CUTE Easter project for you and even though the day is over….guess what – WE WILL HAVE EASTER NEXT YEAR!

Last week was a ZOOMER for us! We celebrated many HAPPY THINGS….the END of TAX SEASON…John’s BIRTHDAY and yep – EASTER! I had all of these pictures ready to share before Easter but that darn TIME THING with having to hen peck my way with the computer….got me!

I LOVE TO CREATE AND SHARE…but that typing up and editing always get to me….but the GREAT NEWS is…Easter will be here again next year and trust me, you want to make these as they are just a crowd please!

Yep, this one is a keep and I totally encourage you to make up one regardless if you have the sweet Reester Bunny….(they’ll be back as well next year). I made up SOOOOOO many of these gems and each and every person that received them just adored them!

I know that many of you do not care for 3D Projects but I say….pretty please with sugar on top…..give it a try!?!? I think as the saying goes….try it, you might like it! They are addictive to make and I cannot wait to shower you with pictures!

Where did the idea come from….SIMPLE – I cased and tweaked it from the one and only….PAPER PIXIE – Julie DiMatteo. If you are not familiar with Julie’s work…YOU NEED TO as she is not only super talented…but she is truly one of the most special young Mom’s I know. I can remember back when Julie became a SUD and how she was working so hard for table decorations for an event…..she was soooo tired but still had that wonderful smile on her face and that twinkle in her eye…she is just the best!

The GREAT NEWS is that I will be sharing with you the video that Julie made with the Reester Bunnies….but when I went to make them they were WEE BITTY ONES and I had already purchased these that I am showcasing!

Natural to Julie’s style…she helped me with the measurements to make it work for this guy! I honestly thought to myself….heck – those little ones are not even a full bite….let’s BEEF IT UP….so here you go……Julie’s Video and then after that I have all of the measurements for you to make it the size of mine!

PLEASE DO NOT LET this template sheet intimate you when you watch the video…it is not scary at all – TRUST ME and also I will share with you some tips and tricks that I used to make dozens of these little Bunny Men!

You better grab this Gingham Paper and the Punches….as YEP – they are on the WALK THE PLANK LIST….. (the links are at the end of the post) We do have some gingham coming out in the new catalog….but NOTHING LIKE THIS wonderful collection….this is a KEEPER!

Now for my tips and measurements for you! Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions…they really are super easy to make and the end result is just adorable! I had shown them some of my stampin’ friends…and they liked them – but when they saw them in person – THEY LOVED THEM…..just too darn tootin’ cute!

  • Cardstock needed for Box – 7 1/8″ X 8 3/4″

Score on ALL 4 Sides at 1/2″, 1 1/8″. 1 5/8″ and 2 1/4″

On the Short Side (7 1/8″ side) score at 2 3/4″ & 4 3/8″ just to the 2nd scored line and then ROTATE it to the other 7 1/8″ side and do it again! When you watch Julie do it – it will make perfect sense and trust me….once you do a couple – this whole scoring thing is a breeze!

  • Cardstock needed for the Belly Band – 7 1/4″ X 4 1/4″

Score at 1 5/8″ & 2 1/4″ and then ROTATE it and do it again!

  • The Gingham is 2 1/2″ X 4″ and that will fit right between the score lines – adhere.

  • Using the 1 1/4″ Circle Punch…Center it and punch out. It is AMAZING as this little guy fits perfectly and there is no guessing where exactly to punch the hole!!! I WAS DOING THE HAPPY DANCE WHEN I FIGURED THIS OUT!

  • As you can see in the photos…I took a coordinating cardstock color and popped out a ring to dress up the front a bit and that was super easy as I 1st used the 1 1/4″ Circle punch and then went over top that with the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch and PRESTO…..it works like a charm and SOOOOO FAST – this is where the punches are so much easier to use than the circle dies/big shot!

  • I also used a retired wee little flower to add some bling around the edges and used a white gel pen to make a quick accent. Using a simple glue dot did the trick and I am sure that you have something in  your stash that you could use if you do not have this punch!

THAT’S the SCOOP on how I took Julie’s original design of the mini reester bunny and made it to fit this guy! It is just the sweetest and I cannot tell you the rave comments I received from the people I gave them to!

You can see clearly that you can use any color scheme but to me, this gingham is just the sweetest and again….it IS BEING RETIRED so I would snag some! FYI….I ordered more of the Gingham this morning and it says that it is on backorder…..so I KEPT it on my order as I really wanted it….

The best part is…you can keep the container and re-use it next year (that is if you can get it back from the person) but would you like to have one yourself? I cannot give you the Bunny as I bet they are already sold out from Easter Candy Clearance….but I sure would love to send you the sweet 3D project and also a TEMPLATE for you to have.

If you are anything like me…then having a template will help you in the future! I sure hope that you have a notebook and take time to write down ideas that you like to refer back to. We always say – I’LL REMEMBER…and then YEP – we waste a bunch of time surfing around trying to find it!
