Simple yet very elegant!

IMG_3364

Now this is my kind of card! I just adore the simplicity of it but at the same time it carries a big WOW! This is the "thank-you" or should I say bonus card that I will send to the stampers of the October Stamp of the Month Club!

The stamp set is the Ornamental Pine and it has endless possibilities! I think that this sentimnet is so classic – just love the font and the detail in the ornament is beatiful.

Please click here to see the post that I shared on the October 1st and I am super happy to offer this type of program to you….WHY??? I know that we sometimes struggle with ideas and we frustrate ourselves with what to create…my goal is to make you be a confident stamper and be very fulfilled.

IMG_3357

Let's get to this beauty! The reason that I did not put this in as a "Club Card" for the members to copy is…I simply cannot assume that everyone has a heat tool and embossing powder….so it is my goal to share with you a beautiful card and to inspire you to see the beauty of this technique!

This card has been heat embossed! First you use the Versa Mark…the Clear Embossing Power….next is the heat tool – and then….

Index

This technique of heat embossing is magical each and every time…for those of you that "know what I mean" – there is just something so special and fun to see the embossing come to life!

IMG_3367

I took the Stamp Kit over to my dear friend and down-line Jeanie…and she could not believe the effect that using the clear embossing powder gives! It truly is a fun technique to use and I think that this stamp set s PERFECT for simplicity!

IMG_3369

I try to add a special touch for the Stamp of the Month Club members and I knew that this beautiful  snowflake embellishment would be perfect!

I first threaded the linen thread through the snowflake and tied a simple bow. Next, a longer piece of linen thread and made a larger simple bow and then using glue dots….easy-peasy! I looked at it and thought it needed just something special….a pearl!

IMG_3365

It wouldn't be a card of mine without a decorated envelope! Today's paper is from the Trim the Trees paper stack….a fabulous collection of papers! I am soooo happy that Stampin' Up! continues to offer these gems!

That's it…and I hope that you have enjoyed this post!

I invite you to go to the offering of the Stamp of the Month Club and consider this opportunity! I know that you are going to love it and you really have nothing to lose…if you already have this stamp set….no worries – just let me know a substitute and I will be happy to get your kit to you!

Enjoy this day and I hope to see you tomorrow!

Please remember that the cut off for the October Stamp of the Month offering is only until October 10th! Please email me and put in the subject line October Stamp of the Month! Stampin' hugs!

A Wonderous PPA Challenge!

IMG_3288

Wow….what a busy but exciting week! When Thursday rolls around we all know that it's time for another PPA Challenge and this week it is a color challenge! Here are the colors that we are playing with and I encourage you to hop on over to the PPA Website and see what others came up with!

Screen shot 2014-09-28 at 10.30.02 PM

I have to admit that I was scratching my head on this one! I do not use Calypso Coral a bunch and it seems like I use Soft Suede a bunch so this was a challenge! I have been seeing on the PALS private gallery many people using the "Baby Wipe" technique so I thought what the heck – I'll give it a try!

I think that you will be able to follow my instructions just fine but if you want to see (2) videos that I think are particularly great please click here to see one from my friend Patsy Waggoner and here to see one from the talented Sandi Maclver (She is using the wreath that I show today)

The BEST tips I can give you is…

  1. Use one of our clear boxes so the baby wipe stays in place and you have less of a chance in getting yourself all "inky"….
  2. Really…..really have NO white space…really ink it up and you will see what I mean in the below pictures…
  3. Start with your lightest color of ink 1st as the darker the color…the more it will take over
  4. HAVE FUN!!! This really is a fun thing to play around with and it makes you feel like you are greating a Picasso!

IMG_3280

IMG_3283

IMG_3285

I bet many of you are looking at these pictures and saying…NO WAY – THIS LOOK LIKE A HUGE MESS! Well it is not at all as after you are done…simply toss away the baby wipes and dry out the box for the next time!

IMG_3288

Here again is the end result! I first tried it with the Early Espresso in the mix but it was too over powering so I re-did it any used the Old Olive! The stamp Set is from the bundle Wonderous Wreath and it is a blue ribbon winner in the Holiday Catalog! I adore it!!!

137624G

The "berries" I did in the Early Espresso and this makes it so easy as at the bottom of the wreath stamps, there is a tab that will help you know how to match it up perfectly with the coordinating framelit!

IMG_3297

Can you see the scored border? I love to do this to add interest and I find using the Simply Scored Tool leaves a deeper impression than the Stampin' Trimmer….(just a personal preference).

The over all size of this card is a 4 1/2" Square and then each size down is a 1/4". There is no envelope today as this card is being tucked under a loaf of Pumpkin Bread for a friend! To me, it is a great festive Fall card!

IMG_3290

Did you notice something that I did that I usually do not do? I DID A BOW! I was doing the happy dance as I thought that it turned out great! The seam binding ribbon is an easy one to work with and now that we have so many colors offered….it's a keeper in my books!

IMG_3289

I found that using the glue dots were the best way to anchor down both the bow and the wooden elements! I took the Old Olive (medium color) blendabilities to color the wooden leaf! It's a bit fussy for me but I must say, I really liked the end result!

I am very happy that you are "feelin' the love" with the Stampin' Up Stamp, Stock and Save sale…but remember that it is only good until the 6th! I placed an order today as I cannot pass up a great deal on basics that I use all the time!

Speaking of time…..thank YOU for taking your time in popping by today! Please pop back tomorrow and I think that I have a classic yet super simple card that will make you smile!

Until tomorrw!

October Stamp of the Month Club!

Hello again, this is the 2nd post I am sending your way today! Please click here if you did not see the first post (as it's a sale and we all love sales) but this post is all about the Stamp of the Month Card Kit!

Last month was my first offering and I was sooooo thrilled with the response and I do hope that if you were part of the "Inaugural Team", please leave a comment so others can get some feedback! I offered to the  stampers that purchased last month so please act on this if you are interested.

I learn sooooo much from last month so here is the scoop on how I will be doing these offerings.

I will share the kit on the 1st of the month and the cutoff is the 10th of the month.

I can only do "so many" as you will see that I put a lot of love, time and commiment into making this a positive experience for you!

This month the kit is Ornamental Pine! This is so classic andI think that you will see in the "teaser pictures" that I have for you….I have created some great cards! The cost of the kit is $40.00.

Please "take it all in" as to what my Stamp of the Month Club is all about! Each month I will feature a stamp set and create (3) Clean & Simple cards! Clean and Simple is what makes me roll and I know that many of you are the same.

I know what you might be thinking….I already have that stamp set.….NO WORRIES, just let me know another stamp set and I will be glad to subsitute it for you (this month's set is $18.95 for the clear mount) and we can accordingly adjust the price for your kit if you would prefer wood mount.

135107G

You will have a completed sample of each card and then I will have all of the supplies, embellishments, ribbons and directions for you to complete 2 more of each card!

In the end you will have 9 completed cards all with lined envelopes and I always tuck in a "Thank You" card for you to hopefully CASE and send to someone!

Your kit will be mailed to you in a sturdy box so there is no losing or damaged paper…all you need to do is sit down and have fun! Please email me if you have questions!

I will not post these cards and measurements on my blog, however I will share with you on Friday the "Thank You" card that my Club members will all receive from me!

Here are the offerings…I know that you are going to love them!

My ultimate goal is for you to have the confidence and desire to continue to stamp! This is such a wonderful craft we all do and it DOES make a difference! Just think about how you feel when you open up your mail box and see a hand addressed envelope from someone you know!

I hope that you will join the gang this month, please email me and put in the subject line October Stamp of the Month along with your address so I can save a spot for you! I will send you a pay pal invoice!

I realize that many of you do not have all of the tools and dies etc…and I feel that if you can 1st hand see and feel what is out there….you will be thrilled with the product! I also realize that you do not want to purchase all of the embellishments….so let me give you a "taste" of the fun stuff!

I deeply thank you for your support to my kits….it is truly a labor of love for me to offer this to you! (I will be at a horse show next week so I already have a plan on working on the kits)

Please remember, this is only offered until the 10th or until it fills up…I hope that you are smiling as much as I am! Until tomorrow!

Flowers for Fall!

IMG_3271

Can you remember the 1st time that you looked through the new catalog when it was unveiled? I always play a game with myself and pick my top 3….totally off of a "gut instinct" and my instinct was that this bundle, Flower Patch was one that I knew had to find its way to my house!

Now that we are into Fall some people might think that flowers should be in the pinks, yellows, lavender etc…but you can make a flower any color that your little heart desires! I think that my card today is a perfect example of just that!

134207G

The inspiration for this card came from the Color me Autumn Designer Series Paper and then I chose the colors of my ink! The ink colors I used were Cajun Craze, Cushed Curry, Cherry Cobbler and Always Artichoke!

NOTE:When you look at the colors that are to coordinate with the DSP – Always Artichoke is not one of them…this is a personal preference…it's always fun to play with color!

IMG_3248

I receive many emails from people that find it hard to use our Designer Series Paper as a focal part to a card so I thought that I would highlight this today to share with you how a busy print can work! Look at how darn simple this card is!

IMG_3266

Having the solid strip down the left side, I felt that it needed something….BINGO….fussy cut out the diamonds in the DSP….PRESTO – it worked like a charm!

IMG_3256

The above picture is a great view of the layers that I used…stampin' dimensionals and then a glue dot helped layered this beautiful fall flower and then the "cherry on top" was the simple Regal Candy Dot!

IMG_3269

The sentiment is from the Good Greeting Stamp Set, the freebie that Stampin' Up! will send your way with a $300.00 order or you can easily have an online event! Love the different fonts!

A quick stamp on a scrap of paper and then "snipping" it and then layering a piece of Cajun Craze…did the trick! When I looked at it – I thought that the white piece was too wide so I did my simple dots!

IMG_3271

Pulling out my "Main Stampin' Man"….Mr. Big Shot – a quick run with the Envelope Liner Framelits gave my envelope the love for the day!

Please make sure that you pop back tomorrow for 2 reasons:

  1. I will be offering the October Stamp of the Month Club…and
  2. Stampin' Up! has an amazing offering for YOU and ME with Designer Series Paper (hmmm…notice how DSP works….another reason I did this card today!

Thanks for your time today and please share my daily blog with family and friends! I am pleased to offer another Kit for you and from the feedback that I have received from the 1st one…people enjoyed it!

I am an email away and have a fabulous day! Until tomorrow!
