“So Sorry” is “So Classic”

IMG_1874

It is sometimes hard and difficult to express difficult times, but this stamp set So Sorry has so much to offer to bring comfort! This is what is so unique and rewarding about making your own cards…YOU get to let YOUR emotion and personality show through your works of art through YOUR heart! We all have so much to give, feel and say – there is no better way to let someone know you are thinking of them with you taking YOUR time to sit and write a card!

As the saying goes…P R I C E L E S S!

So Sorry Clear-Mount Stamp Set

In looking at the stamps above you can see that I needed to work a bit of magic with the unbelievable tool, Stamp -A-Ma-Jig…a definitely and "A List" tool and one that is super easy to use after you give it 15 minutes! Trust me….you will say – how did I ever do without this! So easy!

When I saw a sample using this stamp set in this fashion – I immediately thought…wow, that looks hard – but it wasn't and the WOW effect it gives when you know you had to do some magic…wow!

IMG_1876

This beautiful flowing stamp is from the set, Flowering Flourishes. I can remember when I first saw this stamp set I fell in love with it as I feel it is so versatile and I truly love using just one color…very classic and clean! To add a little pizzazz I punched out a small flower in the same color as the ink, old olive, and popping a pearl gives it that traditional finished touch of class! Curl the flowers up for another simple WOW factor!

The finale was placing the White Taffeta Ribbon giving it a finishing element to balance the card! So soft, elegant and classic…I just love it! Being "Susan" bow challenged I went to my "never fail me" -  knots….looks great to me!

IMG_1879

It wouldn't be one of my cards without having a lined envelopes! This lining is soft and subtle giving it the elegance that this card deserves! It is from the Brights Designer Paper Series. I know you have heard me rave and rave about them…each color collection that Stampin' Up! has…has their own color palette of the shades within. I have never bought more than one and you all know how many envelopes I use! They are a super value especially for all of the effects it will give you !

I hope that you have enjoyed this card…to me it is one to "bookmark" as it can be used so many ways. You do not need to have a bunch of colors to have a great card…you can see that I just used 2 and it is a clean and crisp card that makes a bold and effective statement!

Please email me or leave me a comment on how you like this card…I was thrilled with how many emails I received from my "carrot" posting yesterday! I thought it was super cute and my produce aisle is all ready for the Easter Bunny!

Here's to another great day….thanks for reading my blog….until tomorrow….

A Perfect Easter Carrot – Petal Cone Bigz Style!!!

IMG_1896

Yesterday I told you that I had something special to share with you today… and I think this little carrot is toooooo cute! Hopefully this little gem put a smile on your face as well as getting you excited for Easter!

Another reason why this means so much to me is, it reminds me of my late Mom. Every year, my Mom would buy my children carrots filled with M & M's from her hairdresser – something that she did each and every year and something my kids loved! Spring was one of her favorite times…loving to see the beauty of change with daffodils blooming, warmer weather arriving – just the feeling of change and putting Winter behind us! I know she would be proud of me making this!

This post has made me think that I need to do a video…I will do my best to try to explain but as always – please email me of I can be of help to you! I have been receiving so many emails …and I love and cherish each and everyone! Thank you!!!!

The backdrop of this gem is using the Petal Cone Die and running it through my main stampin' man, Mr Big Shot, the carrot is coming to life! The paper colors I used were tango tangerine and gumball green! When you adhere (in my opinion) any 3-D projects – I always like to use the Sticky Strip…it is the best!

IMG_1884

Do you see the printed paper, it is from the Print Poetry Designer Paper cut into 1'2" strips. TIP = much easier to adhere this before you seal the cone tight! Just let it hang over the edge – fold the cone and snip….do that the whole way around  – ( see, wouldn't a video be easier)

IMG_1885

Flipping this over, I punched a 1 3/8" circle punch after drawing a line on pencil as a guide to keep the circle even! Using the sticky strip again, I adhered a small piece of Window Sheet to allow my candy to peek through!

IMG_1886

Next I adhered the green scalloped pieces and then punched a hole on both sides. Pulling a piece of Gumball Green Satin Stitched Ribbon I then threaded it through a big button ( it was a discontinued Deck the Hall Button = but you can use any big button)

Pull the ribbon snug making it even and then knot the end of the green ribbon! This will act as a "pulley" for getting your cone open and shut!

IMG_1887

Next, take a piece of 1/8" Very Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon and thread it through the opposite 2 holes but just let it open. Lay several pieces of more vanilla ribbon ( and I also found a cute piece of discontinued green)

IMG_1888

After laying the pieces on top…now take the ends of the ivory that you put through the button and knot them…and knot them again – just to make sure that they are super tight! Now you can have fun….open and shut….open and shut….I am sure you are saying WOW!!!! It really is a neat idea…..right!

IMG_1891II I I just love the look and fullness of the ribbon…you simply can't have too much!

IMG_1889

Oops….I almost forgot – take a piece of scrap gumball green paper and pop out a 1 3/8" circle and then using the Fancy Flower Punch you've just made a super sweet flower to frame the peek hole for your candy!

Can you see through the peek-a-boo hole the candy – it is so cute! Reese has a yummy treat with a super cute bunny on the front! I thought it was the perfect choice!

A MUST have…Fancy Friends Kit is fun and fresh!

IMG_1871

We have all heard of "sleepers"…and the is a "SLEEPER" in Stampin' Up! This is called the Fancy Friends Kit and it is simply the BOMB for a quick, fresh and fun look!

Not only can it be absolutely completed by anyone…the kit comes complete with the stamps, the paper and envelopes, the ink and the embellishments!

You will be able to complete (6) cards and envelopes all for $15.95! How fun is this!

  • Need a gift for someone…PERFECT….
  • Need to help boost someone confidence in being able to complete a project….PERFECT…
  • Need to have a quick stash of cards for "just because"…PERFECT!

Look below at all that is included!

My sample that I did was pretty straight forward from the video with the exception that I substituted pearls from the rhinestones (these come in the kit)  I am more of a "pearl" girl rather than a "rhinestone" gal and then I need to add a bit of bling and trademark – A lined envelope! This was from the Polka Dot Parade Collection adhered with the 2 way pen that I am in love with!

IMG_1872

Check this video out just to see how quick and easy this kit is!

3 easy steps to assemble the cards:

  1. Stamp the doily image in Daffodil Delight or Old Olive ink three
times on the card and once on the envelope, re-inking between uses.
  2. Stamp "Friends" in Daffodil Delight or Old Olive ink on the front of the card.
  3. Adhere the flowers to the card. Adhere Rhinestone Basic Jewels( I used pearls) to the center of the flowers.

IMG_1873

I realize that this post is a bit different for me but I do think that is is SUPER IMPORTANT for you to know all of the options that are out there….'cause – this is what makes each of us special…we have different needs, different levels, different time availabilities!

Happy Easter “Everybunny”

IMG_1859

Up…up and away! Is this little bunny cute or what! It just brings a smile to my face and makes me feel like Easter is here! I simply love square cards…I know – they do require extra postage but when you stop and think of all the things we spend "extras" on…

When I sat down to create a card for you today, I knew that I wanted to use this specific stamp from the Everybunny Stamp Set, so I just went with the general shape/flow of the stamp to dictate where to go from there…and using the Ovals Collection Framelits made perfect sense! Naturally I felt In needed a bit of interest to the large Oval so out came the Occasions Paper-Piercing Pack and this gem made me look GREAT by allowing me to make perfectly precise holes all the way around the Oval! Presto! What did I use to do that – easy-peasy…the paper-piercing tool and the Stampin' Pierce Mat are lifesavers to make this a breeze!

IMG_1863

Whenever I do use the Aqua Painters, I always use the Water Color Paper – why? Simple…it does work the best when you are using the Aqua Painters and the paper stays nice and flat! I know…it's one more type of paper to have – but after all…you are taking YOUR time to create this beautiful card…make it look the best you can! I have list below the colors I used…TIP – remember to just squeeze your ink pads to get color on the top before you open them…this little blob of ink is perfect painting away!

IMG_1861

After I colored the dear little bunny, I looked at the balloon and saw that ric-rack design…instantly my head when right to using the Tasteful Trim Bigz XL Die, this is such a fun and fresh die that has lots of shapes…I know what your thinking – it's kinda pricey – YEP it is – but you have 3 options…

  1. You can get it at a huge discount when you are a hobbiest Demonstator like me –
  2. You can get it for 50% off as a hostess benefit or
  3. You could get it for FREE!

How is that for a 1-2-3 punch! Email me and just ask what is your best option!

IMG_1862

The sentiment is also in this stamp set…super sweet and fun! After stamping it, I popped it out using the Modern Label Punch – layered it with the So Saffron…added a little bling with some adorable flowers and of course – a pearl was the special touch. I used the glue dots to anchor it but make sure you "curl the petals" a bit – gives it that special touch!

As always, Stampin Dimensionals are all over the place and my liner came from the Sale-A-Bration Designer paper….the simple yet perfect finishing touch! TIP  – when I put down the Rick-Rack…I first drew a pencil line so I was nice and straight…then I used the Multi Purpose Liquid Glue to adhere it ( this has been my go-to lately and for $3.95 how can you go wrong…careful as all you need it a bit of it!!!)

Have a super-duper day and I hope you have enjoyed today's post! I think it is adorable! As always, I do appreciate your comments…a big thanks from me – I love what I do and I would love to help you achieve your goals!

If you have not considered being a demonstrator, I have a simple ? for you….WHY??? It is wonderful, simply wonderful to be on the PALS team and to be able to order your products at a discount! A Special Basket ~ Box for Lydia!

IMG_1851

Super quick…super cute…super fun! These little gems whip up in a 1-2-3 and this would be a great project to make in quantities if you were looking for a wow factor + a functional gift for gift cards…candies….movie tickets etc…This is exactly what I needed for a little gift for my son's girlfriend Lydia! The colors I used remind me of her – fun, fresh and makes you smile!

You can make 2 boxes out of 1 sheet of paper! How easy is that! The Simply Scored Scoring Tool makes this a breeze and the key product in my opinion in making 3 D projects sturdy is using the Sticky Strip Do you want to know the dimensions and "scoring scoop" on this quick and easy project? Click here and I'll be glad to share them with you!

IMG_1852

Using the Typeset Alphabet Bigz Die and the On Board Sheets to cut the initial out – this simple yet wow touch added the depth to the project! Naturally, my main stampin' man, Mr. Big Shot, did the hard work in cutting this out but I have a super tip for you….

When cutting out these initials  – I use a 2 x 2 piece of chip board…adhere my colored card stock on it…FLIP it over and put stick strip on the back of it BEFORE I run it trough the Big Shot, this way all I have to do is peel off the sticky strip and presto!

You can see that I used a piece of card stock for the handle…you could also use ribbon – that would be super cute but I liked the idea of the card stock and I used a brad on the side to jazz it up a bit! Cute, right!

Now the front….You could do an endless amount of ideas! This was just super quick and fun! Polka Dots make me happy and I always have a template around to make fun projects like this. Just take a heavier piece of cardboard ( like the kind that comes in our packaging) and make some templates in all different shapes…( see below) – this way you will always have a fun and quick technique ready to go! You can tell that this has been well loved!

IMG_1856

You can see how a quick sponging of the circles and a quick stamping over top makes this a fun and fresh project!. If I were to do a bunch of these I would cut out all of my white paper…put just a dab of adhesive on the back( so they would not wiggle while you are sponging) do all of the sponging…then go back and do all of the stampin'…..then add the initials!

Seriously, this would be a great project for the Easter Holidays if you wanted something cute and needed to make many! It is very inexpensive to make and a project that is great for an "assembly line" job!

IMG_1854

I hope you have a great weekend! I am hoping to get lots accomplished myself at home…it seems like it has been a crazy but great week and I am ready to have a bit of down time! I am a click away if I can be of any help to you…as you know, I love to help you and inspire you…have a super day and until tomorrow!
