Stampin’ Up! is not just for cards!

IMG_2282
Good Morning! Let's all have a great weekend! It is to be another beautiful one here on the East Coast! Today is a different type of post for you but one that I think you will enjoy!

I wanted to share with you that Stampin' Up! has many products to offer that are not your traditional card making supplies!

I am doing an Open House today in my local area and I wanted to showcase some of the "other" types of products that we have that I think are sometimes overlooked!

In advance, I apologize for the photography as it does not show off the best of the products ( but I do think the pictures are pretty) but trust me on this one….they are all super cute!

IMG_2276
This 1st product is one of my favorites! It is SUPER cute and the size is great to fill with all sorts of things! I used these for a party at my "other" job as party favors (I needed 85 in total) and they looked SUPER cute all filled with goodies and a pretty bow!

They are the Tag a Bag Gift Boxes and the are on page 158 in the big catalog! They make a fabulous presentation! The sleeves that go over the box are super sturdy…just love them! I know that it is hard to see but I stuffed them with some movie tickets…snack candy and a gift card to send to Hannah at college!

The Burlap Ribbon is one HOT ribbon! I needed to go to a craft store yesterday and I was shocked with how much burlap there is out there! I first was scared to use it as it was sooooooo wide, but it is fun to cut to a narrower width.

TIP! – Use the Craft Scissors…a perfect cut every time!

Tag a Bag Gift Boxes

The other super cute thing in the above picture is the sweet and simple 3 X 3 card! Stampin Up! sells the small square envelopes and this card could not be any cuter or easier than this!

The Best of Halloween Stamp Set and the Envelope liner Framelits made this come together in a snap….of course with the help of the  Polka Dot Parade Designer Series Paper!

Best of Halloween Clear-mount Stamp Set

These bags are super cute for sooooo many diferent things and the best part is – use your imagination to decorate – me….I like to keep it simple and I think they turned out super cute! These are also on page 158 and they are called the Tag a Bag Gift Bags!

Also, we have a Tag a Bag Accessory Kit that makes things super easy when you just do not want to think! I have used part of this on top of a black piece of paper I cut out with the Deco Label Framelits

IMG_2281

The box to the left is from the Holiday Catalog and in page 36. It is called the Decorative Window Gift Box. Is this cute or what! I used some stamps from the Halloween Hello Stamp Set with the Black Stazon Ink to jazz it up a bit and then to WOW is the fun Basic Black Chevron Ribbon…sooooo striking!

Decorative Window Gift Box

Did you notice the cute tag…a quick POP using the Label Bracket Punch and a quick stamp = one cute  tag! Please pop back tomorrow as I am doing a fun post that uses this punch a bunch!

Halloween Hello Clear-mount Stamp Set

I find that keeping them "just in case" I need a quick and clever way to jazz up a gift card…to put a small gift in….t be the PERFECT solution!

“Petal Cones” for a special evening….

IMG_2267

This special evening is…PROM!

After I did the post before focusing on the petal cone…I had an email from a friend asking if I would make 2 of these gems for her daughter and friend! She (the Mom) was going to fill it with goodies….lipsticks, mints and knowing her – a beautiful heartfelt note wishing her "little girl" a magical evening!

She sent me a photo of the colors of the dresses but I was too afraid to try to match them so I went to the neutral /safe option….but naturally added some bling!

IMG_2268

Please refer back to my post on how I made these! Super fun – Super WOW…and you better hurry up and purchase this die….click here – NOW as it is a keeper and you will use it often "just because"!

Please give me some feedback on how I'm doing with doing these bullet point tips!

IMG_2270

  • Petal Cone Bigz Die is the main stage of this post! TIP ALERT – I find it better to only cut 1 piece of paper at a time…true you can do 2 but I find the impressions become too deep and you will have a better chance of tearing ( but…every Mr. Big Shot is different)
  • The colors I used were the NEW…SMOKY SLATE (love), and COASTAL CABANA and Basic Gray!
  • ALWAYS use Sticky Stripe to put this gem together! It needs the toughest adhesive we have!
  • The strips are 1/2" strips and I would adhere them BEFORE you assemble the cone…soooo much easier to do one strip…snip…the other….snip etc….

IMG_2266

I hope that these girls have a magical evening filled with laughter, lots of dancing and memories for a lifetime! I never went to a Prom and I think that it is such a special milestone! ( I threatened my kids that I was going to chaperone their Prom….really wanted to but I didn't)

IMG_2265

Have a wonderful day and tomorrow will be my "organizational post" that you can email me back and I would love, LOVE to send you a goodie!

“Tea for Two” Tissue Holders were a hit!

IMG_2074

Wanta a super quick, super fun, super unique "pick me up" for someone? This is the easiest and fun idea and is a breeze to make up!

Yesterday I had the honor of going to our local Breast Cancer Organization to participate in a program called, "Camp Hope". I prepared for 30 ladies that have all been effected by this terrible cancer in a day of celebration and FUN for them! We did 3 projects together and they loved this one!

I received the inspiration from Stampin' Up Demonstator, Angie Juda. When I was asked to do this project I went surfing the internet and I found this super cute idea so here it is! I did follow her video but I also added the back piece to the container! This way you can use one cut of a designer paper at 4" and get EVERYTHING decorated! I thought it was just a super cute and clever idea!

The best part of my day was that not only did I have a blast….my heart was super full! True, it was a lot of work cutting, stampin and prepping things that could be easily assembled for the ladies….I it was worth every bit of my time and I had a blast!

The paper I used was the Tea for Two Designer Series Paper…..so beautiful! I made all 30 boxes from the paper and I still had a bunch left over! I used the coordinating card stock as my bases and I wish you could see how they all turned out! The ladies LOVED them! The Stamp was from the Oh Hello Stamp Set!

Another thing I changed from Angie's video was that I used the Floral Framelits as my flower…..super quick and easy and I always am looking for an excuse to pull out my main Stampin' Man, Mr. Big Shot!

IMG_2077

Centering the "Oval Cut" is super easy with just a scrap of paper cut into the shape to be your guide! I used the Extra Large Oval Punch POP – soooo easy!

IMG_2080

After you pop the oval….put this piece on and then you can flip it over ( next picture) and then agin use the Oval punch to do the magic! Voila!!!! Centered Perfect!!!

IMG_2083

I did feel like the back needed to be covered – plus I had a piece that fit it perfect!!!! Just way toooo perfect that you can do all of this with a 4" X 12" piece of paper!

IMG_2075

I hope that you enjoyed this as much as I did! I was very pleased with the end result! I am excited come up with some great projects this week! Today is going to be beautiful in MD but I am surely going to make the time to "fill you up" with some real keepers this week!

As always, I am an email away and I also love and appreciate your comments! You are the heart of my business…you are the reason that I blog daily…and you are the reason that makes me love what I do and feel great!

Don't forget…FREE SHIPPING TODAY!!!! There is nothing better than getting free shipping and being able to do so in your own home!!! Have fun clicking away and your items will be delivered by that great "Brown Man….Mr. UPS" to your door! How easy is that!

Until tomorrow!

A Perfect Easter Carrot – Petal Cone Bigz Style!!!

IMG_1896

Yesterday I told you that I had something special to share with you today… and I think this little carrot is toooooo cute! Hopefully this little gem put a smile on your face as well as getting you excited for Easter!

Another reason why this means so much to me is, it reminds me of my late Mom. Every year, my Mom would buy my children carrots filled with M & M's from her hairdresser – something that she did each and every year and something my kids loved! Spring was one of her favorite times…loving to see the beauty of change with daffodils blooming, warmer weather arriving – just the feeling of change and putting Winter behind us! I know she would be proud of me making this!

This post has made me think that I need to do a video…I will do my best to try to explain but as always – please email me of I can be of help to you! I have been receiving so many emails …and I love and cherish each and everyone! Thank you!!!!

The backdrop of this gem is using the Petal Cone Die and running it through my main stampin' man, Mr Big Shot, the carrot is coming to life! The paper colors I used were tango tangerine and gumball green! When you adhere (in my opinion) any 3-D projects – I always like to use the Sticky Strip…it is the best!

IMG_1884

Do you see the printed paper, it is from the Print Poetry Designer Paper cut into 1'2" strips. TIP = much easier to adhere this before you seal the cone tight! Just let it hang over the edge – fold the cone and snip….do that the whole way around  – ( see, wouldn't a video be easier)

IMG_1885

Flipping this over, I punched a 1 3/8" circle punch after drawing a line on pencil as a guide to keep the circle even! Using the sticky strip again, I adhered a small piece of Window Sheet to allow my candy to peek through!

IMG_1886

Next I adhered the green scalloped pieces and then punched a hole on both sides. Pulling a piece of Gumball Green Satin Stitched Ribbon I then threaded it through a big button ( it was a discontinued Deck the Hall Button = but you can use any big button)

Pull the ribbon snug making it even and then knot the end of the green ribbon! This will act as a "pulley" for getting your cone open and shut!

IMG_1887

Next, take a piece of 1/8" Very Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon and thread it through the opposite 2 holes but just let it open. Lay several pieces of more vanilla ribbon ( and I also found a cute piece of discontinued green)

IMG_1888

After laying the pieces on top…now take the ends of the ivory that you put through the button and knot them…and knot them again – just to make sure that they are super tight! Now you can have fun….open and shut….open and shut….I am sure you are saying WOW!!!! It really is a neat idea…..right!

IMG_1891II I I just love the look and fullness of the ribbon…you simply can't have too much!

IMG_1889

Oops….I almost forgot – take a piece of scrap gumball green paper and pop out a 1 3/8" circle and then using the Fancy Flower Punch you've just made a super sweet flower to frame the peek hole for your candy!

Can you see through the peek-a-boo hole the candy – it is so cute! Reese has a yummy treat with a super cute bunny on the front! I thought it was the perfect choice!

If you have not already done so….please click above on the right and subscribe to my blog! I am committed to blog each and everyday to inspire you! There are soooo many talented stampers  – each and everyday I love looking at others works of art to get my creative juices flowing to inspire you with my works of art from my heart!

Have a super-duper day and I hope that I have inspired you today! I love your comments and I try to respond to them!

I have made a dozen of these carrots for my loved ones….I know they are going to love them and I have also made one for my Dad, as I know he will say…." Your Mother used to buy carrots at Easter for your children!"

I love what I do and I love inspiring you….until tomorrow!

A Special Basket ~ Box for Lydia!

IMG_1851

Super quick…super cute…super fun! These little gems whip up in a 1-2-3 and this would be a great project to make in quantities if you were looking for a wow factor + a functional gift for gift cards…candies….movie tickets etc…This is exactly what I needed for a little gift for my son's girlfriend Lydia! The colors I used remind me of her – fun, fresh and makes you smile!

You can make 2 boxes out of 1 sheet of paper! How easy is that! The Simply Scored Scoring Tool makes this a breeze and the key product in my opinion in making 3 D projects sturdy is using the Sticky Strip Do you want to know the dimensions and "scoring scoop" on this quick and easy project? Click here and I'll be glad to share them with you!

IMG_1852

Using the Typeset Alphabet Bigz Die and the On Board Sheets to cut the initial out – this simple yet wow touch added the depth to the project! Naturally, my main stampin' man, Mr. Big Shot, did the hard work in cutting this out but I have a super tip for you….

When cutting out these initials  – I use a 2 x 2 piece of chip board…adhere my colored card stock on it…FLIP it over and put stick strip on the back of it BEFORE I run it trough the Big Shot, this way all I have to do is peel off the sticky strip and presto!

You can see that I used a piece of card stock for the handle…you could also use ribbon – that would be super cute but I liked the idea of the card stock and I used a brad on the side to jazz it up a bit! Cute, right!

Now the front….You could do an endless amount of ideas! This was just super quick and fun! Polka Dots make me happy and I always have a template around to make fun projects like this. Just take a heavier piece of cardboard ( like the kind that comes in our packaging) and make some templates in all different shapes…( see below) – this way you will always have a fun and quick technique ready to go! You can tell that this has been well loved!

IMG_1856

You can see how a quick sponging of the circles and a quick stamping over top makes this a fun and fresh project!. If I were to do a bunch of these I would cut out all of my white paper…put just a dab of adhesive on the back( so they would not wiggle while you are sponging) do all of the sponging…then go back and do all of the stampin'…..then add the initials!

Seriously, this would be a great project for the Easter Holidays if you wanted something cute and needed to make many! It is very inexpensive to make and a project that is great for an "assembly line" job!

IMG_1854

I hope you have a great weekend! I am hoping to get lots accomplished myself at home…it seems like it has been a crazy but great week and I am ready to have a bit of down time! I am a click away if I can be of any help to you…as you know, I love to help you and inspire you…have a super day and until tomorrow!

“Petal Cone” Treats for my Hannah!

IMG_5184

WOOT-WOOT!!! This is exactly what I was doing as I heard my beautiful daughters voice on the other end of the phone…yesterday she found out that she was "captured" by the Sorority that was her 1st choice! Instantly my heart was filled with joy as I never had the opportunity to be in a Sorority! Her voice and words were non-stop and I knew how excited she was! The best part…her other 2 close friends were also in the frenzy of the excitement!

I knew I had to put my thinking cap on and make the girls something special….well I think I hit it right on! This is the 1st time I have used the Petal Cone Bigz L Die but it was just the perfect choice for something special (especially since it is filled with dark chocolate kisses). The colors were purple and yellow and yesterday I said I was going to use something from the Sale-A-Bration FREE gifts….and yes – the designer paper was from the Sycamore Street Designer Paper!

IMG_5193

To get the yellow scalloped piece….SIMPLE = just put a scrap right over the die and I was able to get the  Rich Razzleberry and the Daffodil Delight all in one crank through my dear friend Big Shot! Punching holes and threading through the seam binding ribbon was a perfect touch (hands down – my favorite ribbon to work with as I am "bow challenged" and it comes in soooo many colors!!!) I still think it need a little something so I searched for the perfect sentiment – MISSION ACCOMPLISHED….these cute little birds carrying the "hooray" banner is from the Henry Says stamp set!

IMG_5187

This looks like it would be hard to do but just the opposite – it came together super fast and it would be a perfect choice to make for party favors! I have had that pom-pom ribbon forever and never knew what to do with it – so glad Hannah's colors were and it is just adorable….just like her! She is our little red caboose and we miss her so but she is so happy at college!!! We are proud of you Hannah!
