I am OOBER glad that today is Friday! As you read this I am probably on a plane going to see PEEP Hannah and I am so ready and happy for seeing Hannah….BUT – the super fun thing also about my quick 24 hour trip is that I get to meet a Blog follower, Bridget!
Bridget is from North Carolina but has been living in France and she often comments on my blog. When we figured out that she lives near Hannah we worked to see it we could meet when she came back to the states! Tomorrow is the day and I am OOBER excited! This is what I LOVE about Stampin up! – meeting someone in person….wow!

Isn't this a fun card! I just adore the Flowerpot DSP and remember – this is one that it on the buy 3 get 1 free paper! Click here to see the offerings! These are all good to the end of the month !
I know that many of you are afraid of using DSP as the focal part to your card but to me…this works and it is fun, clean and simple! You know that I love square cards and this work perfectly!
Remember…you can scroll down and see all of the products that I used to make this clean card and you can click on the product and add it to your shopping card in a quick click!
There are several things that i love about this card…the white space with the sentiment (the sentiment is GREAT in itself) and polka dots make me smile! I felt that the touch of the banner worked and the "stitching" was the perfect simple touch!

It is super unusual that I use 3 different DSP's on the same card and it worked! Using the simple colors in a subtle way just works! So…the moral of the story is – try it…you might like it!
Please pop back tomorrow as I will be giving you the opportunity to win blog candy….12 handmade cards from me! My posts over the weekend will be different but I hope that you enjoy them and be inspired by them!
Until tomorrow!

This is a card…made with love for my wonderful uplne Mary Fish…I think that this card sums with 2 words…
YOU ROCK…
You have heard me before in my posts that I ADORE the fact that Stampin' Up! has come out with so many "single" stamps and this is one of them! When the catalog came out and I saw this stamp, naturally I bought it but I had one person in mind…MARY FISH!

I apologize that the pictures are not the best but I wanted to incorporate many things that I love that remind me of Mary! She is such…."the real deal" and has a heart and a vision that is endless!
Two years ago when I started following her blog, I knew that it was a "Peanut Butter & Jelly" thing going on! I knew instantly that I loved her style and passion .
I was just like Mary….wanting to get the discount….have the inspiration….and just simply be happy with doing what I want with no boundaries or expectation!

I waited until today so I could really get a grasp on all of her amazing achievements and I am super proud to share them with you!
Just take a look and see why I am inspired by this and how honored I am to call her my upline and friend!
- First place with 106 promotions to Senior Associate
- First place with 30 promotions to Supervisor and Above
- Third place in annual sales
- Recognized as the only demonstrator in the company earning the Achiever's Performance Bonus 5 times during the Stampin' Up! year (for the second year in a row-woot)!
The FUN of this card to me is 2 things…the Polka Dot Embossing Folder and the You Rock Stamp! This is a kind of a "plain jane" card as it is super basic with not much color but I think it has a big punch and I know when Mary receives it…she'll love it!

I first Stamped the image and then took it to the embossing folder to make sure that "it would work"…well it does and next – off to the Big Shot and square framelits…..the magic is starting to happen!

You can see how it all comes together and the help of the Seam Binding Ribbon…made a quick and easy difference..you know I am challenged with ribbon…but this ribbon is my friend! ( the new cotton ribbon is amazing too!)

Did you wonder how I did that border around the opening of the image!?!? Easy…with the help of the Stampin' Trimmer I can cut "slivers" in a second! LOVE this tool!

Well…cute – right!?!? I added a bit here and there and you know me…I love my envelopes!
The Dots Decorative Masks are fabulous! (I feel like I should pay SU more $$$$ as the are such a great value and quality…just love them!)
I have to admit…I rushed it a bit and used the Craft White Ink which is very "juicy" and I will say that I needed to "blot" them to dry….but you get the idea – super cute – super easy – super fun!

Since I wasn't totally pleased with the flap…I knew that I could do something fun with the front! SIMPLE….I embossed the image with the White Embossing Powder and the Heat Tool…double whammy!

This picture below is priceless to me as it captures the best of both Mary and her wonderful niece, Kris! Tomorrow's card is for her…as she is such a HUGE part of the PALS….I adore the bond that they have!

So Mary….."hat's off to you" and I am proud to be a part of your team.
I should have probably used the One in a Million Stamp….but if I could "photo shop" a picture of you in this Rocking Chair….I would have… (but we know I am also a bit computer challenged!!!)
MARY FISH….YOU ROCK!
Huge hugs to you and thank you for being YOU!
Until tomorrow!

This is one of those WHAM BAM cards and it comes together in a jif because of one special die…It is called the Flower Frenzy Bigz Die and I know what you are going to say…wowzers – $37.95. I do not disagree that this die is an investment…but aren't most investments in life worth it?
This whole flower image was create by this die. I was oober excited when I saw it as I instantly knew of endless possibilites with it.

The other thing that I love about a die like this is you can really use up scraps of paper and you can also put multiple colors of paper where you want them and run it though the big shot at one time. I call that a win-win and it deserves a BIG woot woot!

Speaking of the Big Shot…Stampin' Up! is having a great promotion on the Big Shot for the month of August. With the purchase of a Big Shot, you will have the opportunity to choose a bundle set for free.
The Big Shot is another one of those "investments" but we need to talk about it. It is one tool that I could never be without and it is amazing all of the different things it can do. I will admit that when I first bought it I was totally intimidated by it and thought that I would never figure it out!
Once I put "my big girl pants on" and played with it, I thought I ruined it as the cutting pads were all scratched up and I was sick….I actually called my stampin' friend and she laughed as she said that was normal…..whew!

I think that the simplicity of this card and the fact that it only used this one die is just a HUGE bonus! I realize that I could have jazzed it up a bunch more, but I want you to see it at its totally basic state!
The stamp is from the Hi There Stamp Set and boy…this set has seen lots of use already! Click here to see the post that I did with the simple "hello"….this was the card that I sent to everyone who placed a ribbon/paper share order with me!

The only "bling" that I did was the simple yet elegant single pearl in the middle, but if you did not want that extra "bump" you could easily use the white gel pen or simply leave it blank (I just love options….how about you?))

The trio of Susan dots and the lining of the outside of the envelope was all that was needed – BAM! You can see the mileage I receive from the Designer Series Paper Stacks…that's why I offered them to you…I just find them sooooo handy!

Clean, fun and done! These are the handy tyoe to keep on hand when you need a super cute card…"just because" As always, thanks for popping by and it is exciting to hear from the PALS at convention…they are having a ball and the reports are "THUMBS UP" with the new Holiday Catalog!!!
Enjoy your day and until tomorrow!

It is Thursday and time for another PPA Challenge! This week is a sketch challenge and I was pretty darn happy with the end result! Yesterday when I was reading my dear friend, Brian Kings post…he said it as best as anyone could….please click here and see his post as this is exactly where this card idea came from!
On the weeks that I need to submit a challenge for the team, I usually look at the sketch or color challenge on Sunday (our work is due on Tuesdays). I have shared with you before that I use to find sketch challenges to be tough but I thought and thought about today's sketch and on Monday morning I POPPED out of bed and ran upstairs and PRESTO….the light-bulb was on (well, in my head)
So here you go with the sketch! Thanks once again to PAL Margaret Moody for the fun sketch.

I knew that I wanted to continue to show you all how you can use DSP on the base of your card and it's ok. – there is nothing to be fearful about and it still can be clean and classic! This is from the DSP called Maritime and remember, you can click here and see the papers in this offering.

To me there is nothing more clean, crisp and classic than Navy Blue. I truly feel that even if you do not live by the shore that there are many great offerings of paper that will enhance a project with its sheer boldness.

You know me – I like to mix things up and I decided to have this card open from the left side but it is still a regular card size!
Also this week, I have been trying to showcase a project that uses just 1 stamp set and today's stamp set is Six-Sided Sampler. Not only are the stamps fun, the sentiments are super sweet. The extra bonus is that there is a matching punch…woot-woot – I love that when that happens = it is the Hexagon punch.

One thing that "bugs" me is to see ribbon and/or twine on the "inside" of a card when you open it up. How to get around that is simple by adding that extra layer on the front so when you wrap the ribbon…it will not be on the inside!
I simply used the Real Red ink to stamp my images and then placed a stampin' dimensional under the lower part of the hexagon. I figured the "bulk" of the Bakers Twine would lift up the top part when I tied it on and it did.
Are you wondering where this natural Bakers Twine came from? It is the Metallic Bakers Twine and I simply "pulled" the gold tread out (very easy to do) and PRESTO…a new product!

After I had adhered the Hexagons on and did the sentiment I thought – I wonder if the sentiment would fit into the hexagon so out came the stamp-a-ma-jig and BINGO it worked! I was going to re-do the whole card but thought…no way – it looks great – how about just jazzing up the envelope!

Not only was it easy but I am sure that the mailman will be smiling! I am now "itching" to try more hexagons with sentiments inside…stay tuned!

This whole card came together in a thought process just like Brain was saying…the BEST advice I can give you if you are working on a project and it is just not coming together is…WALK AWAY! Most of the time YOU are your worst critic and you just need some time to let you "comfort zone" come out!
Remember, each and everything we do is a reflection of us as an individual. They are works of art from your heart. All of the PALS are arriving at Convention and I know that they are going to have a ball! I am super excited to hear all about it.

Please make sure that you go to the Pals Paper Art Website and see the interpretations the team made and then how about giving it a try. It always is so fun to see how we all look at things differently.
We have had the GREEN light on with the power at the house! Woot-woot….Daisy is happy to not have Piggy House Duty. Make is a great day and keep smiling – I hope that I was able to inspire you!
Until tomorrow!

Hello my dear and wonderful followers…if you remember that yesterday I said that we had a bad storm and went to a hotel? Well…we really were hit and at first we were told that the power would be back within 24 hours….but late yesterday afternoon they changed it to Saturday….YES SATURDAY by 11:00 p.m.!
When I saw that from my computer at work….I was like – YIKES!!!!
Needless to say it could be a lot worse and I have to keep a positive attitude and know that John and I are going to have a very interesting next couple of days. I am soooooo hopeful that they are wrong with the time frame and the power will be back!
After work we packed up the dogs….(all 5 of them) and headed to my Dad's house to "camp out" until the power is back!
Jack and Charlie

For those of you that are "Daisy Mae" fans….my Dad is wonderful but I did not want to see if it was ok to bring the "princess" to his home.We told Dasiy that she needed to stay at the house and be the "Watch Pig" and protect the house! (we will be back to check her 1st thing in the morning)
Thank goodness my Dad is at his other house but we are in a planned retirement community and I think if the neighbors knew that we have 5 dogs here…..well let's say I do not think the Welcome Wagon would be paying us a visit!
So….the moral of the story is…no post for you…I am sorry…this is a "life happens" situation that I am just trying to find the humor of it all! I always think some things happen for a reason and I will be interested to see what the reason of this is!
Here are some pictures of the 5 dogs getting all packed up to go on their field trip! All is good at our house with Daisey Mae in the house being the best protect pig she can be….Arnold, Colin and the Donkey in the field…but I will say being in the middle of the country with 30 acres and no electicity…is very dark and very hot!
Tomorrow is a new day and I am sure it will be a great day! Enjoy the animals pictures!
Eddie and Norman

Murphy
He will be 13 next week and really feeling his age.

Here is the BEST picture in my mind – (Jack is not in it) but here are all of the animals before we packed up and dear little Daisy said – go leave….I've gotcha covered!

Until tomorrow!
