Welcome! Today is the weekly day for the Pals Paper Art Challenge and this week it is a sketch challenge! You all are getting GREAT with sketches and I hope and encourage you to try this sketch! Please click here to go to the Pals Paper Art Website to see what the designers came up with and also all of the incredible works of art! I am always in awe!!!
This is what we have to work with this week…and I LOVE IT as it allows me to do what I love, clean and simple cards!

Let's get going! My color inspiration came from the Color Coach! I have not blogged about this a bunch lately and it is a tool that I do use on a regular basis….WHY??? Well if you are like me sometimes you get in a "rut" with using certain colors and you find it hard to go out of the box!
By using this…I simply went to Strawberry Slush card and the color combination that it said was…Strawberry Slush, Rich Razzleberry and Sahara Sand and PRESTO…this is how this card came about!

This sketch is so darn simple, I am sure that you are going to come up with some GREAT cards! Because it is so basic I thought it would be interesting to use an embossing folder! Today I used the Tiny Triangles Folder!
TIP ALERT: I have blogged about this before but I think it is well worth repeating…when I use an embossing folder I put sticky strip on the back BEFORE I run it through the Big Shot…this way after I run it through the Big Shot…I can simply "peel off" the red tape and it is ready to go!

Sometimes I think the paper gets a little "wonkie" when you run it throught the Big Shot and by placing the adhesive on BEFORE…it seems to help keep it straight! Also, as you can see on the above photo my 2 colors match up PERFECTLY as I adhered them…THEN ran them through the Big Shot!

The minute I saw this sketch I knew what I wanted to do…this was literally a wham-bam card! The sentiment is from the Amazing Birthday Set and it is just that…AMAZING! How perfect!

You know that I adore using up scraps of paper and this is a great example of that! I stamped it with Strawberry slush and then with the Rich Razzleberry and "fussy cut" it out (which was oober easy!)

Because I need a longer banner than the sentimemt was, I simply layered it and then using the stampin' trimmer, I cut a very narrow strip for balance…easy and it does the trick! Pop it up with some Stampin' Vitamins and THAT"S IT!!!
Another tip: Use the "green glue" to place your sentiments…the gives you "wiggle" room to get the "just right" before they set up!

Envelope time..this was super easy as I used up another piece of scrap paper and ran it though this big shot…quick, fun, effective and the texture is WOW!
Well…I can't wait to see what you have come up with! Please give it a whirl – this is a great sketch to get started with!
You will be getting another post later today – a great opportuntiy for anyone that loves our products and guess what – THAT IS YOU!!!!
Until later…..

This is a card that would be loved by anyone! My daughter Hannah left on Saturday for a semester abroad. She was super lucky that the group that she is meeting is in Washington D.C.(only an hour away) and they are there for 2 weeks to get to know each other as a group etc…before they leave for their adventure!
Last night was the 1st we heard from her and she told me a sweet story. One of her roommates found a letter that her parents tucked in her bag and Hannah thought that was the sweetest. The next day Hannah was continuing to unpack she found her own card hidden deep and she was so touched….she even said that it made her a bit teary eyed!

John and I are going to have the opportunity to go see her over the weekend so here is a card that I will somehow tuck in for another "love from home" This stamp set World of Dreams and I see so many possibilities with it!

The card size is a bit odd but no worries with the Envelope Punch Board. The size is 4" X 6" and then I used the Simply Scored and score a 1/4 in on all sides!

The "vase" is the smallest oval framelit and then I used the oval punch to do the top….( if you do not have this – you can simply use scissors) Stamp the image (I used Soft Suede) and then the same for the sentiment! You know me….I did use the stamp-a-ma-jig!

This card really came together in a jif and I have not used the Park Lane DSP much…and I thought that this print was perfect for a vase and liner!. Using 3 neutral candy dots were a balanced to add the special touch! These little dots are the BEST!

The envelope punch board to the rescue and a perfect envelope came together in a breeze….Carrying the liner from this DSP made the "peanut and butter" thing happen! That's it!

Hopefully this soft and subtle card brings a smile to your face! Please feel free to leave me a comment and share with me your thoughts! I adore the simplicity of it and I think that the deep embossed lines add a fun and classic touch!
I am having a "Play Day" for me today….to start with I get to go see the horses in Virginia and then I am going to a stamp-a-stack at another Demonstrators….I can't wait! I feel a bit quilty having a "play day" but then again we all need them!
Thanks for popping in and have a wonderful day….you all are the best – until tomorrow!

I love it when there is a challenge out there that works for a card that I need to send to someone! This is exactly what today's post is about! Here you go with a clean and simple birthday card that would be "just perfect" for a child's birthday!

When Stampin' Up! unveiled the new Designer Series Papers this year, the minute I saw this "Sweet Taffy" …I immediately thought of birthdays and I think that this strips screams a child's birthday….do you agree?

Look at how simple this layout is – I call this a "keeper" and one that you should make and then use it again and again changing up the sentiment and the paper….easy = DONE!

The elements of the card are very simplistic…I used a combination of the circle framelts (#5) for the sentiment and then I used the 2 1/2" Circle Punch for the layered circle as well as to cut out the piece in the strip of paper.

This is a great basic Birthday Stamp Set, love the name….Remembering Your Birthday. We all have many Birthday cards to send throughout the year, I think that there is something that fit your needs!

I know that this envelope is going to make you smile…another double whammy! I will say, I did use the stamp-a-ma-jig…I wanted to make sure that I was straight! On the inside of the card I stamped a sentiment and added a couple of candles (from the Big News Stamp Set)

Here's a peek of the inside of the card! This is a fun font and the little addition of the candles was the perfect finishing touch!

I hope that you go to The Paper Players Website to see the other fun Birthday Cards that many talented hands created! I just love to see how others view a challenge!
