Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for April where every day is Earth Day. This month we are showcasing projects that use recycled, reused or other earth inspired elements and colors. We hope you enjoy the Pals creative projects.
You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Benjaman Turner at He Stamps, #13 on the Pals Hop. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects.
If you follow my blog, (and I hope you do)….I broke my ankle in January. My Stamp Area is upstairs and the steps and I were not the best of friends.
I have a FABULOUS and supportive husband but the family room quickly became my Stamp area….he is very patient but I felt like I had to have some sort of order so I turned to a Kleenex Box and the rest is history!
I hope that this box of tricks is an inspiration to you and you look around your home to see what you can use…re-use and find a purpose for! We all have hidden gems out there and I hope that you like my gem!
I know that we all know what the size of a Kleenex Box is…but hang on to your Stampin' supples as I think that you are going to be shocked with all that I have in here…
This is full of the basic, must haves that we use all the time for creating works of Art from our Heart – to me these ARE to goodies that make me roll when I sit down to create.
I like to think of it as a kitchen, when you have the proper utensils, the cooking process goes so much smoother…and just like equipping a kitchen – it takes time, it is an investment but here is my take on the "must haves" for making me roll with my projects!
(These are in no particular order, I am just peaking in my box and typing away!)
- Stampin' Pierce Mat
- Stampin' Scrub (Once you get use to using this – you'll never be without it)
- Stampin' Mist
- Craft Scissors (I know…and indulgence – but SOOOOOO worth it – you'll never regret it….actually I bet you'll buy another within 6 months – I keep one for paper and one for ribbon)
- Paper Snips Scissors
- Stamp-A-Ma-Jig (no sighing here….try it – you'll LOVE IT)
- Adhesive Remover (Simply the best, especially if you use the "green glue" a bunch)
- Snail Permanent Adhesive
- Glue Dots
- Sticky Strip
- Liquid Multipurpose Glue
- Stampin' Dimensionals
- Silicone Craft Sheet
- Bone Folder
- Paper-Piercing Tool
- Simply Scored Stylus
- Project Life Journaling Pens (these are the best to write with in your cards…they do not smear one bit!)
- White Gel Pen (what would I do without my trusty friend)
These are the Stampin' Up! Products that were a supporting actress to my box of fun!
- Tiny Treat Boxes
- 1-3/8" Circle Punch ( to make the hole for the boxes)
- Blushing Bride 8-1/2" X 11" Card Stock
- Blushing Bride 1-1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon
- Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack (A MUST HAVE!!!)
- Flower Pot Designer Series Paper
- Regals Candy Dots
- Perfect Print Alphabet Bigz Die
- Vanilla Coaster Board (I adore this and used it to "lift up" my letters, this is what I used to make my Easter Baskets. It is overlooked in the catalog but sure does come in handy!)
- Big Shot
Non Stampin' Up Things in my box of tricks!
- Mechanical Pencil (I think the lead is softer making it super easy to erase
- Magic Rub Eraser (a simple eraser that you can buy at any office store)
- A Good Ruler (I like one that is clear and one that goes down to 1/8" marks
- A note pad (I always like to have scratch paper to write note and tips for my postings)
As the saying goes….THAT'S ALL FOLKS! You have a bunch of hopping to do – go and be a sponge and take it all in!

p.s. – I am leaving to meet Hannah at a horse show for 4 days later this week….guess what is going with me? – My box….as it is great to have sooooo much…….soooo portable!

I love your box! Boxes, actually! I always think I should save kleenex boxes, but I do not have room to store them, so away they go. Such a nice idea for reusing them!
Have fun at the horse show! Don’t over do it!
I did email you. I hope you saw it!
Cyberhugs from far away!
Great recycle project. I can’t wait to see what others do. Maybe this idea could be replicated for me since I make my stuff downstairs until I have a cleared off space in my room. But, with a handle so I can carry it? Maybe I can repurpose one of my baskets and decorate it with paper or ribbons too.
Oh, I unearthed those tiny little felt mittens that were on clearance for a long time. They make the most adorable decorations on the tiny boxes. I had used some in the advent idea for that charity. I knew I had more but just didn’t know where I stashed them! Going to hop along now!
What a cute box!! One item that has come in handy every once in a while is a pair of tweezers. I’m certain that someone at a scrapping store recommended them because it’s not something I would have thought of, but the handles are coated in rubber which is really and nice and they have come to the rescue for one reason or another. The tips are perfectly shaped to hold onto difficult to hold stickers, letters, etc to put them in place. Also have used to lift gems / pearls off adhesive sheets.
Susan, this is SO clever! I can’t believe you got all of that into one kleenex box. It is so cute and it looks surprisingly sturdy! Love it!!
Very clever idea, Susan…..and decorated so nicely, too! I also use tweezers on occasion like Pam….great to pick up small stuff and to pull the ribbon through when making small bows. Enjoy yourself at the horse show with Hannah.
So much in one box! And that is a nice sampling of basic “must have” goodies as well. As someone who crafts at home and sometimes in other places I have to say that eventually you wind up with two of everything–one for the travel bag and one for the desk.
Very nice project. I love the recycling aspect. Using ribbon on the corners was genius. Well done!
I would’ve never guessed your box was a revamped Kleenex box! I have a similar box that I use and I love it because it’s got all my essentials and I can pick up and go in a snap if I want to craft elsewhere. I am still blown away by your post yesterday. I have kept it a secret from Caleb until it arrives & then I will show him the actual blog post. Also, I got your sweet email and I hope to respond later today. Enjoy your time with Hannah!
P.S. I love the Tiny Treat boxes for your pens and tools! I might have to copy that idea 🙂
Fantastic project Susan! Great organization tip too, doesn’t take a lot of space to accommodate the “must haves”. It must be all those “gotta haves” that take all the space in my craft space! 🙂
Genius, pure genius! I can’t imagine what you could do with a big Puffs box! LOL. How is the foot?
Love your portable box! I know I can use this idea on my desk to keep all those necessities in one spot rather than all over the place. A tip I might add is to use one of those cute car antenna ball decorations to cover the tip of your paper piercing tool. No more pierced fingertips when reaching for a tool, and it’s a lot harder to lose than the little tip cover. Thanks for a super project.
This was fun ! I have a couple of Kleenex boxes hanging around all the time ….I admit that I am a BOX person ! Loved the movie The Box Trolls (giggle) I am in the process of reorganizing my must have “Stuff”and love the bitty boxes idea ! I use boxes to put my things in when I make cards while watching T.V.
Thank you !
Thanks so much for your neat ideas today! I’m getting ready to have a knee replacement the end of May to redo the previous one! Yuk!! My craft room is also located upstairs so I have been thinking about what I need to bring downstairs so I can continue to do some card making! But no more thinking, Susan to the rescue! Many thanks and lots of prayers are needed!
I have a bunch of those mittens and I never thought of them for the boxes! THANK YOU….I just love how we all enable each other – Stampin’ and blogging is the best!
YES….you are right and I have a pair of tweezers that I do use…thank you – into the box of ticks they will go – many thanks for the idea!
It is amazing…those kleenex boxes are great! I can remember using them for the kids school projects often! I ADORE your idea of the bread crumb containers….you are so talented!
I am looking soooooo forward to it – I sure have missed going to shows and being with my “horsey” friends!
Mine box of tricks is ready to go with me to the horse show! To me there is nothing like spending a day at the show, coming to the hotel….getting a shower and stampin’ in your jammies!
Thanks Sharon, the corners were “bugging” me as the paper was not perfectly lined up – you know that “type A” in me and it was super easy to do and presto – it worked!
Please do…it works perfectly!
We do love and appreciate our “must haves”!
WOWZERS, with the big Puffs box you could really go to town! My foot is doing much better, I am just not the most patient person with the “it takes time” talk……
Thanks Kathy – great idea as my fingertips are a piercing magnet!!!
Nothing better than your box of basics and TV – like peanut butter and jelly! Hugs my friend!
On no…I will be thinking of you…please let us know when it is and how you are doing – Just be creative with how you can get all of your goodies on the 1st floor before your surgery….you’ll be much happier!
