Simple Saturday – I adore YELLOW!

Good Morning and today I have for you a SUPER SIMPLE card that still carries a WOW....and just look – no stamping on the front of the card…be you can clearly see that this is so simple, so affordable and pop back tomorrow for the dimensions and then best thing ~ you can make it too!

The whole magic of this simple card is the little embossing folder! When you purchase it, you actually get (2) little ones but they are adorable! What a great little POP of texture.

I will say, I used the new platform for the Big Shot and WOW, it gives such an easy “pressure” that really makes the embossing stand out and I adore not having to “flip the tabs” from the old one. FYI….all Big Shots that are purchased from now….come with this new platform so there is no need for you to purchase it.

Enjoy the pictures below, you can clearly see the clean and simple lines of this card and the color – how can you not smile with yellow! 🙂

I just love paper, as layers of paper just add so much to card making. When I showed my best critic, John ~ he immediately said – do nothing else – I love it! I listened but now you will have to pop back tomorrow to see how I made some simple changes to step it up a bit.

The scoring of the mat layer of Daffodil Delight really helped bring the embossed floral part POP. Isn’t it funny how just paper can produce such a classic card! This would be one to make up in masses and then add the appropriate sentiment when you needed a card.

I simply stamped the inside of the card with what I stamped on the outside of the envelope. “Sending a smile your way” from the Love & Affection Stamp Set. THe fun DOT PAPER is from the Brights DSP Paper Stack!

I know that you all love to hear about my fur babies….below you will see sweet Jack – I think that he is in denial that he can fit into Rosie’s bed. Usually he does not come up to my work area but I turned around and saw him all snuggled in (well I guess he is comfortable) and I had to take a picture! Too cute!

IMG_9164

I hope that you d not feel that this card is to “plain Jane” – (sorry if you name is Jane….but I think that you will get it) – BUT….using simple tools like this simple embossing folders work….less is best!

Let’s have a great weekend….John and I are up for Boot Camp at 6:30 and then off to do one of my ALL TIME FAVORITES, picking blueberries! We LOVE blueberries and there is nothing like going in the country and picking them fresh! See you in the morning!

We are into our last week of the deal of the year, the ultimate bundle for just $99 and you can get ANY (2) Stamp Sets your little heart desires – it is as simple as that! Promise….email me if you have any questions!

New Twist with dimensions!

IMG_9161

Good Morning – It is almost the weekend and WOW, I have had a productive week. I have had my head to the grind-stone to accomplish “bunches” that have been over my head and I am happy to say – OUT THE DOOR….and I am looking forward to a great weekend! 🙂

I have made this card before, for John’s Birthday and I had an email about the dimensions….so I thought – let’s change it up….give it a new look and feel and BAM – a fun card and one that I would recommend that you remember for the future. It is a great layout and also a great way to work with scraps!

Here is a run down on the dimensions, I know…I know – they are wonky and I am sure that you can “tweak them” but this worked for me and I never adjusted what I did. This is an example of rolling forward from the birthday card I did several months ago!

The following pictures will show you the progression of the building of the card. This works fantastically with small prints…just look at what you have and say – “GO FOR IT!”

  • The card base is an A-2 card in the Vertical Mode, 4 1/4″ X 5 1/4″ in Very Vanilla
  • The Mint Macaron is  4 1/8″ X 5 3/8″
  • The Very Vanilla Base is 4″ X 5 1/4″
  • The measurements of the pieces are ~ (fish – 2 1/2″ X 2 1/4″), ~(Calypso Coral Dots – 1″ X 2 1’4″), ~ (Star Fish – 2″ X 2 1/2″) and (Mint Dots  – 1 1/2″ X 2 1/2″)
  • The thin Dapper Denim strips are 1/8″ wide – (LOVE OUR TRIMMER) 🙂  ( I use the green glue to adhere these little pieces)

There you go! Step by step…you can see how easy this card is to come together! I love this layout and I just adore “free-hand” cutting a sentiment like this – a trick that I used to do when I was a Creative Memories Consultant when I had a picture that did not have straight lines or (truth be told – when I messed up on cropping it) The best advice I can give you it….just go for it !

IMG_9154

I hope that you can let this sentiment HIT YOU…“enjoy you the little thing” as those “little things” make a BIG difference! I love what I do and I hope that I inspire you to reach for the moon, you can do it!

I hope to see you tomorrow….Simple Saturday….WOOT-WOOT!

It’s a PPA day and I am smiling!

IMG_9116

Thursday are the FUN days that the PPA Challenge comes out with either a new sketch or a new color combo for you to be inspired with and then for you to play with the PALS! It is fun, it is rewarding  and it is super great to see your work online!

Today’s sketch is from the AMAZING  ~ Mary Fish….I am blessed to have her as my direct upline but even better to have her as a friend! She is the “Queen of Clean” . I admit, I was just like her, just bought the “ultimate bundle” to get a discount….but we stayed, and I am glad! I do hope that you play with this clean and simple sketch!

PPA-306-June23

This is the first time I have used this Bundle, Sunshine Sayings and this one is sooooooo “right up my alley” – to me, you get the best of both worlds…a great stamp set but the coordinating framlits are WOW….this FUN FLOWER and more shapes but the “word sentiments” – I am in heaven!

IMG_9123

Do you see the dimension on the flower? I used “fun foam”, remember the stuff that you played with when you were young? I like the white as it goes with just about everything and it cuts perfectly through the Big Shot with our framelits and dies. I used the “green glue” to adhere them together!

I do not know about you….but I think that the flower is so whimsical yet classic (I think that is why I love it – it can go many ways).  I cut part of it in Daffodil Delight, and then the stem in Cucumber Crush.

I used the linen thread to hide the start and stop of these 2 colors! A simple glue dot works each and every time! A quick chat about this embossing folder – AMAZING….right? To me it is timeless and just plain FUN – The new platform for the Big Shot really helps the texture come to life!

Copper is hot…it is all over the place and I think that SU outdid themselves with this DSP! The slight POP of Copper makes this DSP so unique. The thing that I like about this paper is the fact that the copper is very subtle, but you know it is there so when you use it – all you need is a “wee bit”, just enough to make a simple statement.

One last look at this fun card. I hope that it makes you smile as much as it does me. The textures, the fun paper, the simple flower and the great layout makes this a “keeper card”. Please remember that a simple layout works. Pop over to the Pals Paper Art Website to see what the other designers came up with and then I hope that you will play!

IMG_9127

Below you will see the “scoop” of the “ins and outs” of products that I used to this fun card. Shopping in your jammies is FUN…and I know that many of you are “early birds” – I do not know about you but when I get up early….I have a GREAT DAY! Let’s all have a great day!

I hope to see you tomorrow as I am going to share a “Blast from the past” with measurements, you will smile…promise! 🙂

Ladybug fun!

IMG_9131

Happy Hump Day and here is a super sweet card that will touch you heart strings as it is just too cute for words! You know I adore Square Cards and this is a 4 1/4″ Square card so you have options! 🙂

Are you wondering what I am talking about? I realize that many of you do not like square cards because it requires extra postage BUT you can fit the card in one of our regular envelopes and it will be no additional postage (but just think, you will not have the super cute matching envelope like I am showing you today) but I totally realize that envelopes are not a huge deal to many….that is why OPTIONS are great!

I have been having lots of fun with this stamp set and true it is a hostess only set, but I will be happy to show you how easy it is to have a hostess code and have your own cyber event with family ad friends all over the US – (Each of the orders are shipped directly to the customer) so it does not matter if your best friend lives across the US from you! Please email me and I will be happy to help you!

Remember, if your order is $150+, you will automatically qualify for hostess benefits…

Simple is the name of the game today! There is absolutely no reason why we need to complicate things when you have the basics. I was going to use the Aqua Painter to color my friends in but when I looked at it, I really liked the way it looked. A simple bakers twine bow is all that was needed.

Below you will see how I “doubled up” on the height – I think that this makes a huge POP to focus on the simple little lady bugs.

There is soooo much to say about these “layering dies” – I know that this is a big game changer for many and I will admit, it is hard for me to get to know all of these goodies….I am just so thankful that we have so many options. With having the Scallop and the regular squares, the sky is the limit for the possibilities. I think that the best thing is that it really helps with storage….having them as framelits makes it super easy for storage.

I would suggest that you cut out all of them in 2 different colors, one for the straight edges and another color for the scalloped ones. Then I would number them on the back so you have a reference. By doing this, you will clearly be able to play with all of the options! Just saying…..

IMG_9135

Yep, you know me…I just had to make my own envelope. One thing that we need to chat about is….(and I am sorry if I have already blogged about this) BUT….when you look at the envelope punch board, there are no measurements for a 4 1/4″ card….so here you go. I would suggest that you write them down and tape it to the bottom of your envelope punch board for reference!

  • Paper is a 7 1/8″ square
  • Punch and score at 3 5/8″

Presto – there you go….and you are welcome!!!! (I know many of you are smiling) 🙂

IMG_9133

Here is your card to pin away for the future. Such a classic and fun layout….just think of how you can easily change the DSP up to give a differnt feel or let’s be honest – for you to use up paper that you have!

The DSP Paper Stacks are always a must have. I do realize that they are $$$ for you to get them all, that’s why I always offer them in a product share. You know that I use them all of the time and I want you to see how FUN they are.

IMG_9141

This month is zooming by….I know you all too well…I know that there are a BUNCH of goodies in the new catalog that you are just itchin’ to have….why not get the ULTIMATE BUNDLE….heck with that 10% discount – double it with a 20% discount!

I ask you…what (2) FREE stamp sets would you pick? There are some pricey ones that can be yours free with getting the ultimate bundle and then be done (if you so desire) – there is no expectations on my part, on Stampin’ Ups! part…just a great deal! Email me, and I will be happy to shed the light! I am not  BIG AND SCARY WOLF!

Here is the scoop – for the Ultimate Bundle you get….

  • To pick $125 of product and only pay $99
  • It ships for free (that is another $12.50 you save)
  • You get to pick ANY (2) Stamp Sets of your choice….

This is the most important part for you to be a sponge, there is no obligation for you to do one other thing….it is merely an option for you.

I am not going anywhere….and please do not thing that this would hurt my feelings, I just like to share a deal – and this is a deal!

I look forward to seeing you back here tomorrow…..it is a PPA Day and Mary Fish has provided us a GREAT layout and I am using a FAVORITE of mine in the new catalog….I have had it at my work area all day just smiling at it – it’s a keeper….just like YOU!!!!

Help ~ ( I hope) to organize your paper!

1783159333-bbd8e42551665fc31b0b8fa7ad1b8817

Well I hope that this title of today’s post got your attention. When it comes to organization ideas and tips…we all seem to listen and try to take a “nugget” away and implement it to your system. Before we go any further I want to say…..(and I really mean it)…

There is no RIGHT or WRONG way to organize…

We all see and do things differently but it is fun to hear and share what works for. What works for me…might not work for you so please “take in” this post as a way to possibly help you.

Before we get to pictures, I will do my best to share with you what works for me and I will also try to link to places that you can purchase the products. I will say, when you go to organizing…there is an investment to make a system work BUT…once you have a system that works you will save money in the long run as you will not be wasting products…and buying more products…(sound familiar to anyone?)

Most people struggle with space. I get that and I will say that these containers that I use for paper storage can be stacked on top of one another, can be put into a closet etc…I use this for my scraps and I have these bins tucked in a cabinet in my work area.

I used to this bin method for my solid sheets and then right behind the solid sheet file folder, I had the scrap file. I now have “built it” spaces for my solid sheets….but this works like a charm. The bins can be found at most Office Supply Stores, the Container Store, Walmart etc…..They hold hanging files. If you have all of our paper, you will probably need (2) of them.

How do I organize my Stampin’ Up! Paper? First, I organize it by color collection….that just works for me. I find it easier to find. In the pictures above you can see that I simply put a label on the color of the paper and then in that file, holds all of my scraps of that color.

I found that I had to do it this way as if I had all of the “blues” together, again…I would go bananas. This just seems to work for me. ***REMEMBER, I used to use (2) folders before….a folder IN FRONT of the scrap folder….This way, I could simply pull out the bin….find the color and then smile, I was organized.

Here is a Sheet of Labels that you might find useful. It is a basic Avery Label using the Return Address.

I just use Mircosoft Word and then go under “tools” – click “labels” and then find the size that I need, this is formatted for Avery Label # 8167. There were a bunch more labels left blank so I just added all of the DSP’s and some extras so when you printed it off, you did not waste any labels. Below is a picture of the labels.

IMG_9110

Now to the DSP…I love to keep my DSP in individual sleeves. In the below photo you can see an example of the retired Everyday Chic Paper. This easily holds a full pack, probably 2 and there are actually (2) products here.

1. – The sleeve – I purchase these from Amazon – CLICK HERE

2. – The flat divider – I also purchase these from Amazon – CLICK HERE. The reason that I do both is that I keep all of my “full sheets” in front of the divider and the scraps behind. This method works great for me.

IMG_9107

I use one of these for my paper and yes, one will hold all of the DSP in the  Annual catalog. Here is the LINK FOR THIS – I admit, I do have (2) of them as when the Holiday Catalog comes out….I need more space – so (2) is perfect as then I also have room when the Occasion Catalog comes! 🙂

IMG_9105

For the DSP paper, I do like to the P Touch Label Maker…..CLICK HERE for the link and I will say….if you do not have this – STOP NOW and order it. I use it ALL THE TIME for so many things and here is a funny….this was a Christmas Gift to many and I think everyone thought I lost my mind….well, within months they caught the organized bug!

The reason I like to use this for the DSP is the fact that the labels peels off easily as I reuse the holders every year and say…bye-bye to the retired paper (have no fear, I put the paper to good use….promise!)

I know that I did put the DSP names in the labels that I provided for you and I am sure that you put them to good use, I just prefer the label maker for this part!

WOW – I know that this was a lot to take in….please feel free to leave me a comment if you have any questions….I will do my best to explain. I know that there is an investment in organizing, but when you have a system that works, it is worth it. We have all been there…and we will still continue to look for the answers for ease….I hope that this post has helped!
