Blog Candy and I’m BLOOMIN’

Hi. I am glad that you popped in today as today is a special day for me. It is my 4th Anniversary as a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator. I admit, I thought that my time with Stampin’ Up! would have been over 3 years, 11 months ago as the only reason I joined was to support my habit and get a HUGE order at 30%% off and be done.

I knew that I would be “alive” until the end of September that year as Stampin’ Up! lets you have a “buffer” quarter if you do not meet you minimum so I sat back and took the PALS in….I did not tell a soul except Mary Fish (Dah – she’s my upline) and naturally my dear John (but I admit, I told him after the fact)….it was something that I thought I needed as I loved the products and I really, really wanted all of the ink pads and markers, (that was my main goal)

Keeping this little secret to myself and finding it super fun to stamp…I saw that there was a leadership convention open to anyone in the fall….anyone??? I am anyone….with the support of John saying…“you should go” I thought to myself – I do not know a soul…I have never sold a thing, I have no business going – but then John again said, “Susan, you know what it is like to go to a leadership event (as I was very active with Creative Memories).…and whenever you came home from a leadership event, you were always so happy and fulfilled”

The rest is history….I took a leap of faith and looked for a roommate to share the expenses and she was wonderful. Deb is from Wisconsin and I always call her “roomie” – I met an instant friend for life….that is what this whole crazy thing is about….making relationships and sharing handmade kindness.

I feel s blessed to have Stampin’ Up! and YOU in my life….This little thing that we go is just total fun and sooooo rewarding. Please know that YOU can do anything you set out to try….please keep making others and yourself smile by making cards…it does matter! 🙂

I am sad that the decorative dots embossing folders is walking the plank – it is one of my all time favorites. Please do not wait if you want products that are walking the plank – I am sad that a customer was not able to get some things that she really wanted…. 😥

Here is another thing that we need to chitty-chat about….this stamp set, or shall I say, this bundle is only a bundle to the end of the month. This IS carried over in the new catalog but it will be offered “a la carte” so naturally the 15% is OUT THE DOOR! So the moral of this story is if you want this classic bundle – GET IT NOW and SAVE!

I know that many if you feel that we have lots of “flower stamps”..and I agree but then I also say – look at them and see how you can make them work for you! The reason I love this stamp set is the bold, fun images and then the sentiments – are super fun!

Here is the BLOG CANDY and I want YOU to stick with me and my bloggin’ fun! It is all about adhesives as I want us  to STICK TOGETHER! These are my true blues!  I could not….would not be without them! These are my daily “go -to’s”

  • Mono  glue aka….”green Glue”
  • Roll of Tear -n- Tape

In closing, Thank you. I would have never in a MILLION YEARS thought that I would have been here 4 years…and Blogging – NO WAY.….but I have to say, I love what I do, I feel like I have friends from all over….and I hope that I bring some sunshine into your day!

I feel like we are a big family of loving what we do and also love embracing the positive side of life. I totally know that I am an over achiever and I take on too much – but please know, it is all in great intentions….and please never underestimate the power of what we do – making someones day better…making YOU feel better!

I look at the huge bowl of cards that was sent to my Mom while she was ill…and I still look at them and feel the love that was sent, please do not think that what you do does not make a difference….but it does…my Mom was the queen of making people happy and fulfilled…I can only hope that I am carrying on the lesson that I learned!

I look forward to your comments!

p.s. – please know that the card and applicable product will be ordered and shipped you to after the 1st week of the following  month!  🙂

Much better…the new In Colors!

There you go!!!! I hope that this is a huge help to you in seeing the new kids on the block and how they are friends with colors we already have!

Make it a great day and I hope to see you tomorrow!!!!

p.s. – wanta know a secret? It’s a special day for me tomorrow so I think we need some blog candy!

How can a box be exciting???

Today….there will be (2) posts…..put your “readers” on while you have coffee with me so you can see in the box…and then later I will share with you a great comparison I made with the new In Colors. Read below for the scoop – until later!

IMG_6010

Yesterday my favorite Brown Truck came. I squealed with excitement but I had a roadblock – a Board Meeting that I need to be to. I did get my priorities straight and dug down into the bottom of the box to get the beloved NEW Catalog!

We we unveil a NEW Catalog I always take it to Office Max and have it bound with a spiral binding and a cover for the front and back – to me…I like it this way as my catalog will always lay flat and with all of the flippin’ we all do, this helps save it from wear and tear!

Darn I wish I could share with you the inside…but I can’t 🙁  The time will fly by and you will be inundated with lots of sneak peaks!

I can share with you the outside…..so play “eye spy” with yourself 🙂

IMG_6057

I spent a bunch of time doing a fun “visual” for you with the new in colors…BUT – when I sat down to type this post….the pictures looked terrible so I was sad 😥  but I will retake them this morning and share with you another post today!

I am sorry, getting good pictures are always a struggle for many of us that blog and I think that the wait is worth the wait. I am super happy with the new colors….(I admit, I did have a reservation but when you see them in person – WOW) I really think that you are going to be happy…(and then that makes me happy)

Take a peak in the box …see anything that you like??? I like it all and I am amazed at how much l excitement there is in a box!

IMG_6012

I’ll see you in a bit with another post….I am sorry, I just worked hard on this color comparison and I really want you to enjoy it! Sometimes we say…Life happens, I am saying Camera happens.

You will smile when you see the new kids on the block! Thanks for your patience!

Where did this stamp come from?

IMG_6002

Good morning! 🙂  Are you scratching your head trying to figure out where this stamp (s) came from? Well….I think that this floral one is a keeper but I have sad news…it is something that you cannot purchase because it was a freebie from Stampin’ Up! for the Birthday Celebration of the Paper Pumpkin program and they mailed out over a million of these monthly kits!

You will have a chance to win this stamp set…because “Smart Susan….I usually say Silly Susan” purchased an extra kit last month for someone to win!

IMG_6006

Before we get to how you can have a chance to win it…let’s talk about the sentiment. Isn’t this a wonderful sentiment? It is from the stamp set, Picture Perfect , one that I have not blogged about but hang tight, you bet I will be because it was carried over to the New Catalog so I am doing the happy dance!

I was rolling the dice on purchasing this stamp set…as I just purchased it about 3 weeks ago and I am so glad I did. My thinking cap is on and I know that you are going to love what I come up with!

IMG_6007

I just had to add the button…I love this as an extra touch. I know that Stampin’ Up! is retiring the buttons and honestly, I do understand it as it is a product that probably does not sell a bunch, it is sometimes an addition that is the “special touch” that is needed.

By now you know that I love Bakers Twine…and making it fun and festive like this is just plain FUN! Glue dots are the best to hold buttons in place! 🙂

One more look at this special card. This is a card that anyone could do. I know that many of you might look at this and think that it is complicated…..all it is is a stamp…ink…new stamp…ink…etc

I think that sometimes when we see stamps that create a “scene” like this, we feel it is hard….please take a moment and see what I mean – it really is easy!

IMG_6004

Now to how you can win this stamp set!

If you join Paper Pumpkin, (even if it is just for a month –  see below in the shopping list)…you will have a chance to win this stamp set.

The beauty of this program is that you can join for 1 month…you can have a 3 month, a 6 month or a yearly subscription…you can skip a month and you can stop the program at anytime! Basically you can have it anyway it works for you!

I have been a member since it started 3 years ago and I can honestly say that there have only been a couple that I have not been a fan of but I have always found a way to make it work…

Stampin’ Up! has put a HUGE marketing presence in this program and all I can say is….give it a try – all you would lose is $19.95. For anyone that signs up with me by May 10th will have a chance to win this stamp set. I will announce the winner on May 11th!

MaySneakPeek_PPKit_April2016

The above picture is a “sneak peak” for the May kit. I know that we are already in May but with the Paper Pumpkin Program…the 10th of the month is an important date….as if you order by the 10th, you will receive this above kit (it looks super cute…..right!) plus you will have a chance to win this special addition stamp set from me!!! 🙂

p.s. – If you were a Paper Pumpkin customer before…I would LOVE to have you back and YES – you will have a chance to win this freebie from me!

Here’s the icing on the cake!

Well…here you go! If you are not smiling, please email me! 🙂 I think that you know me well enough by now that I adore “total packages” – I love to make things “go together”….and this is one super gift to make!

I have a BUNCH of graduation gifts that I need to be prepared for and who would not love a dozen of handmade cards…plus some extra goodies.

Gifts from the heart matter…you matter.

Your time & love that you put into your projects does make a difference!

IMG_5995

I blogged about this note card over the weekend and I just love clean and simple cards like this! The “box” is sooooo easy to make and it was inspired to me from the super talented Sam Donaldson….it you do not know of her, you need to as she is one talented SUD from the UK. She always inspires me and I just ADORE hearing that lovely accent of hers! 🙂

Here is a link for a video that she did which inspired me to make this. I did not do all of the steps and fru-fru that she did it you watch the whole thing…I just knew that I needed the “meat and potatoes” of the project!

I will add some measurements for you….please make this – it is super fun and comes together in a snap!

  • Start with a piece of card stock 8″ X11″
  • Using the Simply Scored and have it on the long side, score at 4 1/2″ and 6 1/2″
  • Turn to the short side and score at 1″, 2″, 6′ and 7″
  • Turn back to the long side and score at the 5 1/2″ mark just to the score line (see photo below)

IMG_5969

  • Fold and use your bone folder to get great crisp edges. (don’t worry about trying to fold in that little scored line – this is one for stability for the box, it will make sense when you complete the box!)
  • Cut up as shown and I also feel that it is sooooo important to cut at an angle. To me, this is the key to clean edges.

IMG_5970

  • If you choose to decorate the front, the DSP (YEP…I am STILL USING UP my DSP – how are YOU DOING), this piece is 3 3/4″ X 4 1/4″
  • Add adhesive, I like the fast fuse or you could use tear tape. You can see in the below photo where I placed it. Fold forward the back of the box to the adhesive.

IMG_5974

  • You can see in the below photo that I have fast fuse on the sides on the front and then you simple bring it forward to meet to complete the box….SOOOOO easy – SOOOOO practical!

IMG_5978

Here in the below photo that you can see the final part coming together. the scored lines on the sides help give the box some stability and I also think it gives a polished look! What do you think? Easy to make…right????? Let me know your thoughts! I have made 9 of these and it is fun to play with all different colors of papers etc….

IMG_5976

Time for a little “jazzing” up….Susan style, very simple! I did use the triple banner punch at 1″ and then 1 1/8″ as all I was going for was a peek of black popping out!

The dashes and the simple ribbon makes it fun! I stuck dimensionals on the back of the banner and then placed a glue dot on top of the bermuda bay ribbon and PLOPPED a white bow!

IMG_5981

Here is another picture of the fun project. I was very happy with it and trust me, anyone would love to receive this practical gift. The itty bitty flowers added the final touch. (I will miss these in our line but I know that I will always use them)

IMG_5985

Were you wondering why I had a clothespin??? Easy – I added some stamps to complete the gift. Tucking a pen in there is also a fun touch. Whenever you can package a “complete” gift like this – the person that receives it will remember it…as it is super special!

Today is a day that I have been waiting for…..I can order a PRE-ORDER from the new catalog….I say YIPPEE!!!! 🙂  I will be having my order expedited so get ready to see some FUN!
