Can you say….I AM TIRED?!?! Yesterday was a day of intense but productive shopping and we are loaded to the max and heading to Durham today….We had a blast together and YEP(I sneaked somegoodies in my IKEA cart for me) 🙂
I have told John that we are going to be playing “Adult Lego’s” with putting together furniture. It will be a fun family time and I am sure that there will be lots of “chuckles” to look back to.
I’ve checked in with our amazing house/animal sitter and all is great on the home-front – I forgot to mention yesterday….when we walked into Hannah’s lecture….she had a HUGE smile as Milo has made the journey with us…he is a very special little man and I truly think he was brought into our lives to make it easier on me with Eddie…..he is an Eddie in a Dachshund body!
Enough about me…..lets get to the FUN card! Now I need to to visualize this card in a different way as it was super hard for me to get a good picture of it but again, this is a card that can be made for many cards that you will need.
The reason it is hard to get a great “snap” is the fact that I can not stand it up because I cut 1″ off the front of it! WHY???? – Easy, it makes it a FUN and a bit different card and then the sentiment of “congratulations” is stamped on the back of the card!
Hopefully this makes sense and you can see that this is a FUN and different card but I totally suggest that you still use a 4″ X 4″ piece of scraps to “build” the focal part.
I know that I try to say with you ideas of taking extra steps to make a “stepped up” touch….and the White Gel Pen is one to do with this layout.
The hearts paper ~ from Have a Cuppa, is a keeper and I used a aqua painter to add a bit of Melon Mambo to make a quick pop!
The polka dot paper….LOVE IT – it is from the Bright Collection (you can see it in the line up below) and you already know that I adore this paper and it is a no-brainer as it is always a quick “go to” as we have then in all collections and YES – I will be offering them in my product shares!
I know…..I know that I am not the best in sharing with you the insides of my cards but I just had to today! I think that it is super cute….a simple stamp on the bottom with the banner piece of fun dots and then the main sentiment (from the same stamp set) – woot-woot – Works for me!
Here is the color combo that I pulled together for today! Let’s chat about So Saffron…..this is a color that I think many of you forget about (and that is sad) 😥 It is a color that works with a BOLD color like today and it also looks great with subtles….like Pool Party!
I invite you to S T R E T C H yourself and try a color combination that is out of your comfort zone….just try it and see how it feels. I think that we all get into “ruts” and stick with the “comfort zone” as that is something that is safe!!!!
Here are my friends……they are back!!!!! See you tomorrow……for our 2 day post – now you need to be easy on me…as you will have to “take it all in” and understand where I am coming from! Lets all have a great day! 🙂
A baby entering the world is always a treat! I made this card for a customer and I am proud to say a dear cyber friend….and I just wanted to share this with you as it is a keeper and I thought that it turned out super cute.
You know that I love using up scraps and I hope that I can inspire you to PULL OUT WHAT YOU HAVE.…and make some of these great strips!
I bet that you are thinking that this must be super hard and time consuming to do but it is “quite the contrary” ….so let me share with you how easy it is to make. You know that I adore STICK IT – click here for the link at amazon.
All I did was to cut 1/4″ strips of paper from the Sweet Lil Things DSP pack. I took a piece of Stick It and exposed the one side…laid my strips down and presto – it is coming together! If you do not have this product you could easily do it the old fashion way by just adhering your strips down with adhesive but using the Stick It makes it go SUPER FAST!!!!
For the focal part…a simple POP of the 2 1/2″ circle bunch and then run trough the big shot with the embossing folder made a simple circle come to life in a jif! Darn, I forget about using embossing folders and when I do – I just love the effect!
The sweet little onesie was cut from the Babies 1st Framelits and then Stamped with the sentiment form A Dozen Thoughts. You know that I have used this stamp set a TON and I hightly recommend it for your stash as it is a keeper one, filled with great sentiments and FUN FONTS!
I think that you can see that this card is one that you can see that you could adapt for many different themes. I can see a fun border and then a super simple “thanks” or “hello” framelit sentiment across the middle…PRESTO = DONE!!!!!
Maybe I will do another card like this one day and use a good old regular A-2 card base so you can see that you can easily adapt this to a different card size without having to pay extra postage!
Here is the low down for you! This is a layout that you need to keep in your brain!!!! This is what I call a keeper…I adore square cards and I think that this is a super sweet card to send wishes of a new bundle of love!
You know how I adore making my own envelopes…today is no different. The envelope punch board makes life so easy and there is nothing like a special and odd size card to be waiting for you.
The DSP of the sweet little critters set the FUN stage for the card. This is a great way to use up the DSP that you have around…and I KNOW YOU HAVE IT!!!!
Well my friends….what do you think? I thought it was simple, cute and did the trick. Just my kind of card! It is hard to believe that tomorrow is the last day for Sale~a~bration. Double check if you need anything….remember to use the hostess code on the top right of this post and I will send you a goodie and with a $50.00 order you will be able to pick a FREE SAB item!
This IS the best time of the year with Stampin’ Up! for deals of freebies but the BEST deal is the ULTIMATE BUNDLE….that is YOUR custom pick of $155 worth of any Stampin’ Up! Product and only pay $99 and it ships for free (another perk of saving $15.50) Paying shipping makes me grumpy!!!!!
Stampin’ Up! has over 97% of the demonstrators being hobbiest……that is great and trust me….we already know we love our products so why not be able to take advantage of a deal….that is just what it is nothing more – nothing less!
With the new catalog being unveiled soon….just think ~ you would be able to pre-order the NEW products….get them at a 20% discount….it is that simple ~ PERIOD!
I have had people take advantage of this deal and fill their kit with a ton of thick white cardstock….paper they use….envelopes….adhesives….dimensionals….punches they do not have……and they are soooo happy! It really is that simple and if you want to chat…..please email me!
The best thing I can say is…there is no OBLIGATION for you to do anything with your kit except enjoy it and the are no EXPECTATIONS for you to do anything with Stampin’ Up! if that is not in the cards for you.
I love a deal….I love to save money when I can…this is why I started with Stampin’ Up! but it was MY CHOICE to take it to where I am now….this card is a perfect example of the friends I have met on this journey. Maureen is a cyber friend that shared with me that she was expecting a grandchild…I love what I do!!!!
It feels like it has been a long time since we have had a PPA challenge…actually since last year (ha-ha!!!!!) – I do hope that you pop over to the site and not only PLAY but see that we have made some changes….I know, I know….lots of changes lately but these changes are GREAT ONES!
I want to give a big SHOUT OUT to Nicole and Brian Watt for helping the PALS with their endless talent and expertise as they have spent a bunch of time with the PPA Site….I wish that my brain could absorb a teeny tiny bit of what they can do…..amazing…and the PALS are thankful!
Today is a sketch challenge and the design came from the super talented Mary Fish! This is a sketch that you can do over and over with all sorts of papers, stamps. Please remember that when you see a “keeper” sketch like this….either create a folder on your computer to save it or get a spiral notebook in your craft area and do a quick sketch for the future! I do this all of the time as I say, “Why reinvent the wheel?”
I am trying to “BE PREPARED” as there is a Mom to Be at the barn and I know that she is having a girl. Hannah and I saw here on Sunday and she said that she was due any-day….so you know me – I better GET ON IT! I was excited as I have been itchin’ to use this stamp set
Don’t you just love this DSP? It is from the Birthday Bouquet Collection. Just think, it would be perfect naturally for a birthday, a baby card, Easter…it’s a keeper, actually the whole paper pack is a keeper.
I have not used Wild Wasabi Color for a long time so I just adore pink and greens together and thought I would give it some time front and center! What color of paper to you find that you do not use often? If you are like me, you go through waves of using a certain color a bunch and then switch up!
I could not resist adding a simple Bakers Twine Bow to the top…my favorite is to use 2 or 3 strands of twine to make the bow and a glue dot always does the tick each and every time!
To create a little special depth and interest I used an embossing folder…..this decorative dots is one of my all time favorites as dots always make me smile and be happy! This seems to be another thing that I go n waves with using, embossing folders! I decide to move them closer to my Big Shot so it will remind me to use them. It is amazing with how a simple embossing folder can add a special touch!
The liner is also from the same Birthday Bouquet DSP Stack…this confetti screams happy times and there is nothing happier than a new baby! This is their 1st child and all of the Mom’s are super excited to have a “little one” as there are no babies…..poor Liz, she has been hearing from many of us and I texted her yesterday morning to see how she was etc….and dear Hannah looked at me and said, “Mom, you need to stop this….Liz does have a Mom and all of you and your friends have to calm down” – there is nothing like a new baby!
Cute – fun – DONE! Now to wait for the baby to come! This is a fun set and I think that we are all going to be amazed with the ideas that you can make with this stamp set. Hannah used to have a pony named Nemo…and when I saw this stamp set, I knew that it would be coming to Randall Lane!
I am thrilled that you all are lovin’ the new catalog,…it is super fun and I think all of our heads are spinning with ideas! I am an e,mail away and I hope that this sweet card brought a smile to your face!
Well…well – I am so glad that you liked yesterdays card and I hope that this one will make you smile as well! Happy Sunday to all…here is “Mr. Elephant" stepped up a bit. Not drastic changes but changes that I think him look a bit spiffier! The changes are stars…stars and his ear!
Let’s get to the changes and then you can see if you think that it is worth the extra effort. I think it is and really the only one that was a bit of a “pain in the drain” was the little stars. (you can click on the collage to make it super big)
I was hoping to use the star from the itty bitty accents pack but the scale of it was too large so PLAN B = the confetti stars border punch came in handy!
The card was created just the same as yesterdays post but I used the star from the Tin of Stamps Set with Versamark to randomly stamp around. I love the effect as I think that it is subtle enough but it also does the trick to add some pizzazz.
Let’s get to the ear….don’t you just love Elephants BIG ears!?!? I just stamped it 3 more times (just the ear area) on scraps and fussy cut them out. For 1 of them, make sure that you leave a little edge that you can fold over and adhere with green glue – (the pictures will help you)
I know that this might be a bit overkill but what the heck – it really does not take too much extra time and I think the end result is super cute.
For the stars….those darn, tiny stars. It really is not bad and this is what I did…I put a small amount of green glue on the edge of the “elephant area” and let it dry a bit so when I used tweezers to place the little stars on there would be no oozing from the glue.
Yesterday I did not show you the back of this card but how do you like the little pocket I added to the back? It is perfect to tuck a note in and then the recipient can just stand their card up! The sweet sentiment is from the Happy Happenings Stamp Set but I am sure that you have many sentiments that would be appropriate!
Well…there you go – I hope that you liked this card and I hope that I have inspired you to give it a try. It really is a fun twist and you will get rave reviews!
Other ideas that work great with this card is to add Bakers Twine and the sentiment hanging down across the top of the card . I would use a simple glue dot to hold it in place.
I did have a couple of emails yesterday asking if it will still stand up after it goes through the mail? YES….because you have used your bone folder well…the card will pop right back into place. (I have had one on my office since February and it is still standing strong!!!
Thanks for your time today and please feel free to email me if you have any questions. You will see the products that I used in the scrolling store below or you can hit that SHOP NOW button and go to town in your jammies!
Well….here it is – a quick stepped up version! There isn't much difference or time element to put into it but I hope that you can see that making these simple changes will do the job!
I loved everyones comments yesterday and I responded to many of them while watching the Kentucky Derby! I am sorry that some of you had some "hiccups" in viewing my blog yesterday – it was a Typepad issue and I am always at the mercy of the "cyber gods" to make things right!
Please click this image below so you can see the cards better and also read the text!
Let's get to it and I will explain the changes I made for today's card….a huge WOOT-WOOT to "mamajulie" who left me a comment and she was exactly right – I used the 3/4" circle punch NOT the 1/2" punch – great catch and THANKS (I am so glad that you made this card yourself, I am sure that it looks great)
The size is the same, a 4" square card and then the navy is 1/4" smaller and than run through the big shot with the super fun Polka Dot embossing folder!
I used the 3/4" circle punch to pop out the garden gree circles and then adhered them to the navy with my friend = "green glue"
Next, I took the deco framlit and cut out the middle and then using (2) of the deco framelits I made a simple mat in garden green to adhered that to the polka dot base.
I used a bunch of stampin' dimensionals to POP up the blue dot part! Then I snuggled the sentiment in the stamped/cut out area and laid it flat…love it!
The finishing touch was the simple white dots made with the white gel pen, a must have accent tools but remember, it does take a bit longer to dry so be patient along with a simple heart to give it a bit of bling.
Yesterday I adhered the back flap of the envelope…today I did the inside…just wanted to change it up a bit! (I adore this DSP – if I could purchase a a dozen sheets of this yummy navy and white paper = DONE!
Well…there you go my friends! I hope that you have enjoyed this 2 day post and I also hope that I have inspired you that making some simple changes can make a difference. They both are great and classics but you can see there are always options!
Pop back tomorrow as I am switching my schedule a bit but when you see the post – you'll understand why! I am so happy that you all enjoyed seeing the sneak peak of the new In Colors, I am thrilled with them and I am super excited to play!

When a baby comes into this world…I smile! I had a REALLY BIG smile when I received a text that my downline, Deb became a grandmother (again) on Monday! Needless to say, she was super excited and can hardly wait to get to Colorado to see him!
I had the opportunity to be "spoiled" to the max yesterday when I was able to go to her home and be a guest at her monthly Crop Club! It was GREAT to be on the other side of the coin and WOW – she did a fabulous job and her projects…..oh, my!!! I am going to email her and see if it is ok to share them with you….
This is a fun card that I made for Deb in honor of her new grandson, Luke! I just purchased these Little Letters Thinlits and was wondering how I could put them to use! I think I nailed it here and it was super easy since I did not have to duplicate any letters!
We all know that it is TOTALLY hip to be square…and this card is no exception! This set comes as a bundle and I would definitely purchase it this was to get an instant 15%! The only stamp I used today was the "tie" and then I popped it out with the matching framelit…so easy!
You can see in the below picture (sorry it's not the best) but I think that you'll get it…simply line up the letters as to where you want them…a simple crank through Mr. Big Shot….PRESTO! I simply took a piece of Night of Navy behind the letter openings and the magic happened!
To make the "onesie" pop, I popped out a real red circle using the 2" circle punch and then used "old faithful" – the white gel pen to do the dashes! Make sure that you POP it up with dimensionals….this gives it a fun and festive look and feel!
You have heard me talk abut "fillers" before…the stars were just that to me today to break up the space! This punch set, Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack is a MUST have… as trust me, you will use this one over and over! I like to curl up the ends and using a glue dot makes it a cinch for placement.
The color combination for this card actually came from the liner, from the Maritime DSP Pack. You cannot go wrong with a beautiful bold stripe like this! Classic and clean all at the same time!
Deb is soooooo "Over the Moon"happy with her new grand-bundle of joy! Don't you just feel happy inside when you hear that someone had a baby!!! What a true miracle!
