I feel bad that I have not been showcasing and making cards for my wonderful hubby so this is for him! He has been such a trooper through his whole injury etc…
Today is his 1st day of Physical Therapy at the doctors! He has been doing PT here at the house 3 X's a week but today he is getting to go to the "real office" and he is excited to get his legs rolling!
This truly is a card that is MUCH better in person as the photos do not do it justice what so ever! Another bummer for me is…I left my I Phone in a friends car and this shows me….how well they take pictures…this is a great masculine card!
Here is a quick run down! I wanted to use the Regals Core'dinations Paper in the Cajun Craze Color! Love this paper as you can sand it (like I did here) or it is great to tear it….it is just fun and a different twist!
Running it through the Big Shot with the Houndstooth Embossing Folder was the start of this wow for the card! Next, I used the Sanding Block to let some magic and a rustic yet modern feel to the card come to life!
The sentiment came from the super fun and I think over looked Stamp Set, Spread the Joy! It is fun set and can make some really "heartfelt" cards! I loved the movie The Bucket List and I thought this would be a great sentment for John!
I have had many emails about "fussy cutting" and the best tip I can give you is…don't try to be perfect with your cuts….just roll with it and let the scissors do the work! I always use the paper snips and I think they are the best little scissors out there!
Matting them on Midnight Muse, I cut them again and then used the "ends" of stampin dimensionals to make them get a lift up! To balance the card I simply added some regal candy dots…a perfect and quick touch!
This is something that I think of often as there are many accomplishments that I still want to do…and the funny thing is – most of them are very, very simple…just some goals that I have!!!
Have a super-duper day and I am still having a tough time with the time change…I know this one is easier but I keep looking at the clock and thinking….what time is it REALLY!!!???!!!
Tomorrow is a Christmas Card as the countdown is going and I know you will love it! Classic, warm and beautiful….please pop back to tomorrow!
Email me if I can be of help to you…..please hit the Shop Now button to order any products from my 24 hour website and the goodies will come to your door!!!
WOOT-WOOT…it' Friday!!! As promised during the super stamp sale I am showcasing not 1…but 2 of the 25 different stamps that are specially priced just until Monday, the 28th!!!
You might think that this is a challenge…but I simply look at the offerings and say – this can go with that and then PRESTO…a fun card!
It is a great challenge to yourself when you go to create… simply allow yourself to use certain products and then go from there!
I knew that I was going to use these stamp sets, Oh, Hello and Hello, Lovely (say those 2 names fast)….but I wanted to use a color that I have not used lately and also something that could be a masculine card!
Here you go…let's get to it! I love the odd size of the card (kind of long and skinny) and having the fold on the left makes it a unique end result!
The size of the finished card is 3 1/2" X 6" in Very Vanilla
The Island Indigo piece is 3 3/8" X 5 7/8" (and yes…save paper – pop out some punches!)
The Very Vanilla top piece is 3 1/8" X 5 5/8"
Now to the stampin' fun….you must have a ruler (helps a bunch) and the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig...makes this a breeze to whip out!
I know this sounds like it is a lot of trouble to do…but trust me…if you do this and draw a pencil line you will save your self sooooo much frustration….so just do it!
On a scrap of paper, simply stamp the sentiment image and again, I take a ruler to draw the exact line all the way around before I take it to the Stampin' trimmer! SOOOO easy!
This is a great stamp set…so versatile….click here and see a card that I made that appears to be super hard but it is one of the easiest cards to do as you simply stamp on scrap paper then use the 1" punch!
A simple erase of the pencil lines and some Stampin' dimensionals on the back for a quick POP and BAM….it's one great looking card…and soooo easy!
I made the envelope with the Envelope Punch Board …so easy to just look at the chart – find the size of card you have – BAM…it will tell you how big of a piece you will need to cut – punch-score-fold-adhere-DONE!!!
I often get asked about how do you line an envelope with the Envelope Punch Board…easy – watch my wonderful upline, Mary Fish's video….click here and you will see how easy it is to do!!! You will do every envelope this way!
It has turned very brisk here on the East Coast and I am loving it! The only thing is…we know what's around the corner! Hopefully you have some fun Fall plans for the weekend!
Many thanks to all of you that continue to ask and email me about how John is doing….he is doing great, getting stronger each day and is now doing physical therapy 3 X's a week!
Don't forget about the adhesive bundle that can be yours with order any of the 25% Anniversary Stamps!!! We all need, love and use adhesives so I thought this would be something practical for everyone!'
Have a great day…please spread the word about Simple Stampin'…we all know word of mouth is the best advertisement we can give!
You're gonna love tomorrow's card…it feels and looks like fall!
You know how the saying goes…"Accidents can happen"…well this is exactly what has happened to my dear hubbie! In advance, if my posts do not have the Susan regular flair…I am going to have my hands full…but the BEST news is he is doing great and will be just fine…just a long road to recovery!
I thought that this card would be appropriate to let him know…I love him and hope the recovery is fast…he is a super fit person and he will be back to himself in no time! You might be getting tired of seeing "hope you feel better soon" cards….but I promise they will be cute!
Do you notice a "FUN" factor of this card…it's a strange size…you know I love odd size cards and now that we have the Envelope Punch Board….wowzers – what a time saver!!! The simple instructions that are right on the plate make it super fast….ZOOM!!!
Here is some quick and easy scoop for you….I say – CASE away on this one…as we never know when we need a cute card like this! It simply can't get an easier card than this…as I say – "It's a keeper"
The card size is 3" X 7", therefore you paper size is 6" X 7" and scored at the 3" mark! The color is Very Vanilla.
The "Band-Aid" was made from Crumb Cake…4 1/2" X 1 1/4" – run it through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dot Embossing folder! I sponged the edges in Soft Suede to give it some dimension! TIP ALERT – use the corner rounder on the Envelope Punch Board!!!
The sentiment came from the Tag It Stamp Set…remember when you purchase this stamp set, Stampin' Up! will donate $3.00 to the Ronald McDonald House. A win-win for both of us! Did you notice the brackets around the stamp are not there? I simple masked them, then inked up the image…peeled the masking off and presto!
The teeny tiny heart came from the Owl Builder Punch…I really thought that this was a silly punch but I am amazed at how often I use it…I found a super cute Owl card to CASE later this week!
The piece of very vanilla that the band aid is on is 2 3/4" X 6 3/4" and then did you notice the difference a simple score line adds…simple, fast yet effective! This is using the Simply Scored Tool.
The matting of the Early Espresso is just a "smidge" larger just to let the WOW factor happen!
WOOT-WOOT….it's envelope time! I get sooo darn tootin' excited to make my own envelope! Following the guide for a 3 X 7 card…it told me to start with a 8 1/4" square piece of paper and punch at 2 3/4" and score…..all the way around! Love this Envelope Punch Board!
TIP ALERT! You will need to use a ruler to cut off some of the excess…it's the "type A" in me that likes things nice and tidy!
This card came together by the time I came home….fed the dogs….let them out….and back to the hospital! It really is super fast and a sweet card!
Unfortunately there are times that we need a boo-boo card….I hope this inspires you! Let me know how you like it!
In my opinion, having an odd size card creates and interest even before they open up to see the card…it's like the feeling you get when you see a strange size box at Christmas!
Have a fabulous day….thanks for popping by and tomorrow is a Pals Paper Art Challenge….how about playing along this week!
This is a "2 for 1" card as it is really 2 cards in 1!!!
A main card with a "sappy" message from "Mom" and then another cute are that not only has a gift card that will bring a smile to my son's face…but also a "talking tag" from Stampin' Up!…one product that I totally think gets missed!
This is for my oldest son that just moved back from China! He is living in Boston and a gift card always comes in handy! I know that there are times that it is hard to create a masculine card…but this stamp set, Perfect Blend fits the bill and I was pleased with the end result!
There are soooooo many incredible cards and projects made with this stamp set, I totally encourage you to google it and you will be amazed at the "beauties that are out there" My son loves coffee and I thought that this would be a great stamp set to send him some cookies and things he left from home!
As you can see there are actually 2 cards here! A smaller one mounted on top! WHY? – I really do not know….it just happened and I liked it! Knowing that I wanted the "brown family", I knew that the new "Sweater Weather Designer Series Paper" would be super-duper! This paper is an "A list" must have paper! Sooooo yummy and feel like you want to get a cup of hot chocolate and go to your Craft Area and create…away!!!!!
I stamped the coffee cup in Soft Suede, I just think it always looks great with the Very Vanilla!. Taking it to the next level, I pulled out the Yippee-Skippee Stamp Set ( now that's a mouthful) but a super fun and modern stamp set! I inked it up with the Versa Marker and then using the Early Espresso Embossing Power and the Heat Tool…I let the magic happen!
I think that there are soooo many fun and unique ideas you can make with these stamp sets! To me….a day without coffee means I am sick! I truly enjoy a great cup of coffee….getting on my computer and seeing what's out there in the mornings….all with my 5 dogs and pig…and then hitting the floor for the day!
Being that I am not a "fussy" one with lots of embellishments etc…I felt that it need something and using the Linen Thread wrapped around the base gave it a level of interest and dimensions!
Wanting to get a "maximized effect" I thought putting the gift card in the smaller one would be a perfect match….but there was still one more thing that I wanted to give to my son….that is a message from "Mom" with my own voice! This is where the "Talking Tags" come in! Please click here and watch this short video and you will see how fun they are…..and your own voice….PRICELESS to the ones you love!
I have a simple question for you….."When was the last time you used a Talking Tag.…if ever?????" Then the next thing I am going to ask you "Why not"!!!! These gems are the "heart" that meets your card! I was able to record a message to my son that not only is personal ……but it is MY voice that HE can hear with his phone……how super cool is technology!
This was a fun and rewarding card to make….as my son has lived in China for 4 years….I find it an incredible treat and blessing to have him back in the States! I can hardly wait to get a call from him on Saturday when he receives his goodies! I know him too well….he will adore the card and even love his "Snickerdoodle Cookies" but more importantly, his message from "Mom" from the talking tags!
I hope that you can "snuggle" up with a great cup of coffee and find some inspiration from this post! I have a great card for you tomorrow….a super fun, classic way to say thanks to anyone!
Have a fabulous day and remember that I am an email away and you can click here to shop at my online fun zone….utill tomorrow!!!
I was at the beach and I can remember thinking…"I AM 21" – WOW!!! Now when I see one of my children and/or friends children turn 21…I think – "WOW-They are sooooo young"!!!
Today is a special day as it is Aidan's 21st Birthday! Aidan is my daughters boyfriend and today is his special day! Happy Birthday Aidan….with many happy and healthy milestones ahead!
Now I know you have probably seen this card many times….as it has been from blog to blog….but then again – I cannot think of a more fun card than this one for a guy's 21st Birthday!
I was 1st introduced to this card from stampin friends and demonstrators, Carol Barr and Jane Rozes! I knew it was a "keeper" and I would one day use it with my own twist!
I "googled" to find a You Tube Video of how to make it and thanks to Tami White….I found the perfect tips but then twisted it a bit to make it my own! Please check out her video as it is great!
I did follow her great video but I have been wanting to S T R E T C H myself in using the Core'dinations Paper….and I felt that this was the perfect time! The fun "cheers" came from the Happy Hour Stamp Set!
To the inside….super fun….how appropriate with the birthday theme and card than to "peel off" a beer label and make it a focal point! Inside I tucked some movie tickets as "$21.00" in honor of his milestone! The sentiment from the Perfectly Penned Stamp Set was the perfect font for this fun card!
Naturally the envelope needed more attention than just stampin' the "cheers" on
the front….so I carried the "wood" theme to the outer flap! Sanding
that paper just gives the best texture and feel – just a fun extra touch
for a fun card!
Enjoy this day and think back to when you turned 21…a fun time and one of those "milestones" we all seem to remember! Today's post is just another reason why I love Stampin' Up! so much….getting the inspiration from other talented demonstrators and then being able to make it fit your needs is simply the best!
Let me know how you like this…it is a fun and super easy card to put together!
I hope this card put a smile on your face as it sure does mine! I just love this stamp set, Zoo Babies!!! Not only is it fun…it can be used for soooo many differnt cards…not just for kids! An "A list" for sure! Remember my post the other day with the adorable alligator and I did one with the bird!!! This set is a keeper!
Using the new Smoky Slate Card Stock as my base…it is perfect as you can still write on it with a black pen and it is not hard to see! The Night of Navy was the choice to keep this a bit masculine and I wanted a bit of depth so out came the Big Shot and I ran it through with the Honeycomb Embossing Folder! Love the effect it gives!
When stamping on the Watercolor Paper, make sure your ink pad has been inked up very well – this paper seems to really "take in" a lot of ink…just a head's up for a good coverage! I did stamp the Elephant again in the Night of Navy Ink and cut his little ear out and adhered him to give a bit of interest!
Before I adhered the Navy Embossed piece I took a piece of 7/16" Trim Ribbon and put a piece of sticky tape on the back of it and adhered it! ( I know….you are thinking this is a bit excessive..but I like the finished and professional look of a ribbon that does not move around!) Again, using the sticky strip I adhere this piece to the Smokey Slate Card base!
A simple " Susan knot" did the trick and I used the mini glue dots to keep it in place! Love these little guys…they make my life SUPER fast and easy! Voila…done!
Now to the envelope….I thought that since this is such a cute card…it deserves a matching envelope! They are soooo darn tootin' easy to make yourself..why not? Take a 7 3/4" square and score it with the Diagonal Scoring Plate at 4 1/8" on 2 sides and the other sides at 3 1/8" and snip the little pieces…do a quick fold and adhere with Sticky Strip….DONE!!!! ( well not quite yet….)
Remember yesterday's post…I used the Night of Navy from the Regals Designer Series Paper and how convenient for me as I did not put away my papers…I used the flip side for the liner! Looks super-duper!
I hope that this posts encourages you to think out of the box and make your own matching envelopes! Why not? It is sooo easy and the finished look is wonderful!
I have been having so much fun with the new stamp sets! I hope that I am inspiring you to take a look at sets in a different way! Please remember, click here to order away from your home and that cute little "brown man" will show up at your door!!! Just love UPS!!!
