3 stamps…1 color = 1 great card!

IMG_2815
Good Morning! I think…(I hope) that I am back on track! These past days have been a busy but fun time and as I shared with you yesterday…my son that just graduated from college continued to fly and has started his big boy life!

Naturally I miss him and I wanted to send him a card that would make him smile and let him know how darn proud his Dad and I are of him! There is nothing like going to your mailbox (especially when you are in a new city) to find a familiar handwriting….your Mom's! I am sure he will appreciate this card!

As you can see…this is one straight forward card but the effect is perfect and the color is to a minimal….actually just one color – Night of Navy from the Regals Palette. The stamp sets,Tape It and Really Good Greetings, and Chalk Talk are going to be  HUGE HITS and I see many, many great projects in the future!

IMG_2816

Sorry the above picture is not better but I wanted you to see that I stamped the "tape" image in a piece of scrap paper and then cut it out and POPPED it with Stampin Dimensionals…( I thought I would give my stamp-a-ma-jig a break – you are tired if hearing me say how much I love it)

I also used the Simple Scored Scoring Tools to make 2 lines to give some depth and I figured my son would appreciate that more than ribbon!!

Let's go to the "Happy Big Day" stamp! This is a must to get the bundle…why??? – Simple, you'll save 15% ordering it in a bundle…just one more way that Stampin' Up! is on top of it for us! The Chalk Talk Bundle on page 12 is a true keeper!

Chalk Talk Clear Bundle

TIP ALERT!!! This is one of those stamps that works best when you "scruff" it up with the sanding block…a simple and quick trick that always does the job!

TIP ALERT #2!!! One of the BEST tips I can give you is…add to your inventory of "stash" the ink pad refills….to me there is nothing worse than seeing an image that is not clean and crisp! SU sells them singly as well as a collection and you will be AMAZED at how many times you will use them and how much better your projects will turn out!

Being able to "stamp" then pull out the Big Shot and now with the SUPER MUST HAVE Big Shot Magnetic Platform….darn – I wish I invented this gem…no more sticky notes…no more wiggles….these makes using the Framelits a breeze!!!

Envelope time!!!….X 2!!!!!

IMG_2818

I lined the envelope with the Regals Designer Series Paper…so fresh…so perfect but then I also wanted to do something else fun…I stamped the "tape" image on the front of the envelope and then used the "perfect" – I Miss You Already…would be the perfect choice for my card!

IMG_2822
I hope that you have enjoyed this super simple card….so fast and easy and one that would be a cinch to mass produce! It would be a perfect day for a birthday…an anniversary….a WOW – why to go day….just a thinking of you! I am sure that the recipient will have a smile when they receive this gem!

Many thanks for the emails and comments you give to me! I truly appreciate them and I love trying to help you with your projects! If you have not already subscribed to my blog, please do so…..just a quick click in the upper right area will make sure you and I have coffee together in the morning!

Until tomorrow….

Even Men love cupcakes!

IMG_2252

I am not sure what's up in trying to use more masculine colors but it just must be the time of the year that I need "looks" like this for my own card making mailings!

You see…this is just one more reason why becoming a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator is the thing to do for yourself… you can make…make…and make more cards and know that you are getting your products at cost!

For $99.00 you can pick $155.00 worth of ANY products and never have to do another thing with SU or if you chose to order again, you would not have to do so until October 31st! Email me and I would love to talk with you!

IMG_2246

You know the other day I said for you to close your eyes and sing a song…well here you go again, today's song is…"Where do I begin…" – there looks like there is a lot to this card but once I kept going…I kept liking it and at the end, I said – WOW…this is really different!

From yesterdays comments – you all liked me sharing some pointers….I'll try again!

  • Card Base is a 5" X 5" Square in Crumb Cake ( my favorite…so versatile!)
  • Midnight Muse 4 1/2" X 4 1/2" Square
  • Crumb Cake 4 1/4" X 4 1/4" Square ( I should have done this in Very Vanilla…but oh well!)
  • The Designer Paper is from the super beautiful Print Poetry Paper Series….so darn pretty ( I would definitely stock up on this one!)  – cut into 2" squares
  • Used Sticky Strip to adhere the squares perfectly
  • 3" Circle Originals Die, then used a ruler to measure in 1 1/2" and then cut into 1/4's – adhered like above.
  • Using the Create a Cupcake Stamp Set, I stamped the base of the cupcake in Soft Suede and then using a piece of very vanilla scraps – I ran it through "Mr. Big Shot" using the
  • Vintage Wallpaper Folder ( another one I would definitely purchase before it goes bye-bye!) and then used the Cupcake Builder Punch!
  • Snailed everything together and then POPPING the Midnight Muse base.
  • Used the white gel pen to add a little interest around the circle!

IMG_2248

Wow…I know that seems like a lot but it was really fun! Once you get the roll of it…ROLL with it! You know you'll make 2 cards as you'll have extra circle pieces…so just keep going!!!

  • The envelope…..easy-peasy! Start with a 8 1/2" Square and using the Simply Scored Diagonal Plate…score at 3 7/8" all the way around!
  • Cut the squares out on the edges and adhere – I always use sticky strip for this!!!
  • Jazzing up the out envelope was easy! Take the coordinating paper….flip it over…use a pencil and voila'! Cut in half and adhere! ( see 2 extra pieces….you really need to make 2 of these!)

I hope that you found this to be a fun and different card! I always love square cards! They bring a smile to my face and I know it costs extra to mail….but really! It is worth it! Please remember that shopping is a click away and I would love to help you!

IMG_2249

I appreciate your comments and I hope that you subscribe to my blog so we can have coffee together every morning! Just simply add your email address under the catalog and you will be good to go!

With the amazing incentive that Stampin' Up! is offering….I have a question for you…why don't you want to be a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. Do you realize that most SUD are hobbyist and better yet…there are many "silent demonstrators" ( that's what I was – I did not tell a soul!)

I would love for you to join me on this fun journey! I promise not only would you have fun, you'll gain confidence and you will grow as a paper-crafter! The PALS resources are unending!

Thanks for popping by…until tomorrow!

A Great “Golfer’s Thank-you”

IMG_2243

On Saturday I hosted an event for my job and it involved golfing! I needed a "thank you note" to send to the golfers that came out to support the event!

I immediately thought of the Dapper Dad stamp set! Confession time…this is the first I have used it but will say – not the last… so get ready to see some great ideas using this super fun set!

I felt that the Perfectly Penned Stamp Set was a perfect choice to add to the golf shoe! Now you know what I am going to say…this simply could not be done without the Stamp-a-ma-jig! This silly little tool makes life so much easier but better than easier – it saves you a ton of time!

IMG_2244

I knew that I needed to make many of these and I wanted to share with you how easy it is to do an assembly line process when making cards! Here are some tips that might be useful…

  • I always take a piece of scrap paper to write down all dimensions and tips!
  • I cut the base card (Crumb Cake for this card) and score in half.
  • Pull out the Crumb Cake Envelopes and decide the liner I wanted to use….easy-peasy  – Neutrals Designer Series Paper!
  • Make sure you ink pad has plenty of coverage…if not…use the refill as you continue to organize. ( you need to wait 10-15 minutes to settle in the ink pad)
  • Go to your scraps 1st and see if you can utilize them before using a fresh sheet of paper!
  • Cut the vertical pieces….stack them up in the colors per card!
  • Run the vertical strips through the Big Shot using the Argyle Embossing Folder.
  • Using the Stamp-a-ma-jig – prepare the clear sheet for doing your stamping.
  • Stamp the shoe 1st….then follow up with the sentiment!
  • When I made these…I did use a bit of snail on the back of each to hold it in place so the stamp-a-ma-jig would not wiggle!
  • Drew a pencil line down the center of the card to place the center piece and then it was easy to "eyeball" the others!
  • Adhere…pop it up with my Stampin' Vitamins – Stampin' Demensionals!

IMG_2242

I personally think this is one fun and handsome card! Change the colors up for a more feminine feel….I think I am going to try it with a heat embossing technique! I can see a pink shoe!

Please do not forget to subscribe to my daily blog….I love creating and I love working my creations into my personal lifestyle! Click on the box right under the catalog!!!

On Wednesday is my monthly Breast Cancer card making fun time….we will make over 100 cards for the local "Angel Program"….sending a card and "pick me up" to those that are unfortunately going through some tough times! This is such a "feel good" evening!

IMG_2245

Please leave me a comment or email me and let me know how you liked this card….sometimes it is hard to come up with an idea for a masculine theme…I think the colors set the stage for this card! I do say….I loved focusing and "picking up" the argyle from the show in the embossing folder! A great added touch!

Here's to a fabulous week….I am up for a busy one… but fun one…until tomorrow!!!!

“Happy Hour” for Tony’s Birthday!

Today's post is full-filling 2 things…a Pals Paper Art Challenge and a super masculine Birthday Card!

IMG_2218

What is the PALS Paper Art Challenge….it is a super fun way to stretch your imagination and play along with other people that share the same passion as you! So…what are you waiting for – go to www.palspaperart.com and join the fun! You do not need to be part of the PALS team to play….YOU can play – so go do it!!!

We all have certain friends that just make you laugh…just make you feel good…just make you wonder what they are going to say next…well – this pretty sums up my friend Tony Workman! Not only is he a friend, he is my daughters trainer(and you too Tom!!!) and has been there for us as she has achieved her goals riding horses!

This masculine, fun and classic Birthday Card for him sums it right up as he is one classic guy! By now you know that I love square cards…why? – easy…cause their different and they make you feel special! There just is something about holding a square card! Now I know a square card requires extra postage; now I ask you this…isn't the person you are sending a card to extra special? Just do it!

The Stamp Set I used for the focal part was from Happy Hour, thought of Tony immediately…We have share many "cheers" together and I just thought he would get a kick out of it! Trying to also work this card into the super sketch that the PPA team came up with – this card came together in about 10 seconds!

I knew that I wanted to use this designer paper…remember where it came from??? It is from the Halloween paper collection, Howlstooth & Scaringbone! The accent colors I chose were Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade and Very Vanilla as my neutral!

After stamping my image and sentiment ( and YES  – of course I used the stamp-a-ma-jig) as I have learned it is my time saver! Works perfectly each and every time! Next out came my main man, Mr Big Shot, and using the Window Frame Framelits, I used it to cut both the stamped image as well as the Island Indigo…( see below picture = I saved paper by using the inside of my mat piece!)

IMG_2214

I thought the Island Indigo piece needed a bit of extra depth so I used the Festive Paper Piercing Mat – then out came the Stampin Dimensionals to start the wow! The cute sentiment was from the Bring on the Cake Stamp Set, short and sweet!

IMG_2217

When I looked at the card…I thought – just one more thing….I think the touch of Black Taffeta Ribbon would be perfect…and with a Susan knot – clean and classic – just like Tony!

Are you thinking….how did she get that envelope? Simple – I made a custom one using the Simple Scoring Diagonal Plate!  I will say – it is simple amazing how much I have learned since I decided to become a SUD….it is just plain fun and the PALS resources are amazing – I can be in the middle of something – find myself stuck….go to the Facebook chat Pals resource – BAM – answer right away!

IMG_2219

I am super excited for this week – I have so many super fun ideas to share with you! ( I think I have been spending too much time outside doing yard work and my mind goes everywhere!!!)  I really am excited to play " SHOW AND TELL" with you!

Until tomorrow…….

Happy Birthday John!

IMG_2191

Today is a special day…it is my husband's Birthday and after working a long Tax Season he is doing something for himself and also something that he is passionate about! He is going to a Boy Scout Fundraiser that they are doing skeet shooting!

John dedicates a lot to our local Boy Scout office and I know that this is going to be a great day for him! The other passion that he has is golfing, and something that he put on the back burner while raising our children but now he is ready to get back into it!

Today's card idea was one that I CASED from local Stampin' Up Demonstrator, Jane Rozes! I just loved it and I knew that I was going to use her great card to base John's Birthday Card from…just loved it!

IMG_2194

The only Stamp Set used was the Sassy Salutations, one on my "A" list and one that I always feels gives you a fun look! I did use the handy-dandy – Stamp-a-ma-Jig to get my placement of the sentiments just perfect… The red I used was the Riding Hood Red! There literally would have been no way for me to get that in the PERFECT spot that I wanted if I had not used this great tool!

The "green" was punched from the Extra Large Oval Punch using the Regals Designer Paper…then I just used a simple hole punch to make "the cup"! The "ball" was super easy and cute as I first ran a scrap piece of Whisper White Card Stock thru the Big Shot in the Perfect Polka Dots Folder…then using the 1/2 " circle punch I POPPED it out! How simple is that!

IMG_2195

Using the white to be the background classic look, I accented it with some of the classics…Night of Navy and Crumb Cake. Using the Stampin' Vitamins that I love so much, Stampin' Deminsionals, lifted this super cute card up – (even the golf ball)!!!

There is nobody as special than my wonderful husband in having April 20th be a special day! He is the BEST man in the world and as I say….the BEST blind date I ever was one (well, the only blind date I was on!)

I was sooooo incredible proud of him when he told me that he ordered a new set of golf clubs!!! WOOT-WOOT I thought, I was so glad that he is wanting to take time "for him"…not only is he so deserving of it – it will bring him joy to be outdoors and leave the office behind!

John,  hope your day is as special as you are! you are a wonderful and loving husband, the best Dad in the world and truly my very best friend! Many more happy and healthy returns!

I hope you enjoyed today's card and I hope that this is a great weekend for all!

IMG_2193

Our family continues to keep Boston in our thoughts and prayers, so sad! As always, I am an email away and I love to help you and inspire you to reach your goals! You all are the best!

Until tomorrow…..

A Masculine “By the Tide” Card…

IMG_2117

Sometimes it is hard to find a great Birthday card that is masculine! Well I think I have accomplished that! I just love the International Bazaar Designer Paper and I must admit I do not use it as much as I should as it is so handsome!

By the Tide Stamp Set, is such a versatile set….it is classic, it is handsome, it just simply makes you feel like going to the beach! I am not one that usually like to put a "faint" sentiment as the background, but I think it works here! I used a very soft color, Sahara Sand and then stamped my "Happy Birthday" message in Early Espresso! This sentiment came from the Teeny Tiny Wishes  -  a definite "A Stamp" set!

IMG_2121

The basic concept of this card can be used in sooo many ways with sooo many different themes! Just let your imagination go and fit the needs to the card that you are trying to make! Switch out a stamp…switch out a color scheme….voila – a new and fun card!

Don't forget to use the stamp-a-ma-jig to help you with the placement – it is a HUGE lifesaver!

IMG_2120

I first received this card from my Stampin' friend, Susie Latimer, as an anniversary card! It had a total different scheme to it but I have always kept it as I love the design! This is a great example of taking the time to save something you really like as you can always go back to it and make some minor changes and BAM!

IMG_2122

Doesn't the crispness of the Pacific Point Blue make you feel alive! It is just a "feel good" color that always brightens up your projects! A card would not be a "Susan" card with out the Stampin' Dimensionals as well as a lined envelope! SO easy….SO WOW – and the best thing is that it fold very flat….no extra postage!

IMG_2123

I know that it is Friday but it has been a L O N G week for me and I have been working many hours to be able to take today off – SOOOO excited to see my youngest child! Probably by the time you are seeing this I am on the road with my truck and trailer to get to Charlotte, NC!  She is a freshman in college and I can hardly wait to see her and give her a big hug! It is hard to believe that the school year is coming to an end….

I hope that you are ready for a great weekend! I sure am going to….I am bummed that I have to miss the Baltimore Regional Convention but I have a special surprise that I am super excited about! Make sure you check back to see what it is! I thank you for taking your time to view my blog….As always, I am an email away and I thank you for your comments and taking your time to daily check out my blog!

HUGE stampin' hugs….until tomorrow…
