by Susan Itell | Aug 16, 2014 | Christmas, New Product, SNEAK PEEK!!! |

Yesterday I shared with you a fun card using the star framelit and I told you that today I will be doing another card with this framelit and also a NEW stamp set that is sold as a bundle ( just for this promotion until the end of August) and this bundle can be your FREE with a purchase of a Big Shot!
Even though the NEW products from the Catalog are not available until the 28th, you can purchase this special stamp set and framlit NOW…it is called Bright & Beautiful! (love the name)

Please see the stamp & framelit sets that you can get for free. If you do not have a Big Shot, this is the best opportunity to purchase one. Click here and you can see the options and you can also order!
I think that if you follow a bunch of blogs, you can see “hands down” that this is a tool that we all just love and would not be without! ! I have a funny story for you…the first time I used it I thought I had totally ruined the plates as they naturally got all scratched up and I was so worried…I still think of this each time I use it!
You are getting a double whammy as I am going to showcase 2 different cards using these framelits and stamp set! Let’s go!

For the above card…I used the largest Star Framelit and took a piece of Very Vanilla folded over and ran it through the Big Shot – shaped cards are so fun and different.
Using a piece of scraps of very vanilla – stamped the image in Mossy Meadow and then used the coordinationg framelit…PRESTO!!! I think that this color is going to be my "go to" Holiday Color…I love it and I think that it will be stunning with the satin ribbon!
Now here is the fun part…after you cut out the star which is soooo fast and easy with the Big Shot… use a piercing tool – make a hole in the center of the star so you can see then middle when it is flipped over.
Take the star to the simply scored tool upside down and line up the points into a groove and carefully score! HOW EASY! (You can see that I was a bit off on one side but in the end it does not matter)

Fold to the inside of the points to give it the depth/3 D effect! FUN right!!! Last year my dear friend Brian King did something like this and I never gave it a try but when I saw this stamp set…it spoke to me…try it!!!
To adhere it all I did was use mini glue dots at the end of each point and then I stacked up (3) stampin’ Dimensionals on top of each other for the center in case “gravity” through mailing would make it sink!

Now to card #2 – I used again the Mossy Meadow for the stamped image and then cut out a larger one to mat it! The size of the overall card is 5” square card and then using the super fun neutral of crumb cake – today’s card is coming together!

I used the same technique that I did for the star (one the 1st card) The fun embellishment of the pearls was a perfect touch for both cards. Remember, it is so much easier to use the piercing tool to “lift” up the pearls and adhesive (saves a bunch of frustration!)

When I looked at the card I felt it still needed something…I wasn’t sure if the white gel pen would be the right answer and be too stark but it works perfectly. I often get asked about my dashes – the best advise I can give you it JUST DO IT…do not worry if they are not the same length etc…the end result will be “just fine”!
The sentiment is from the NEW stamp set called Endless Wishes and it is available for you to order from starting August 28th! This stamp set was a limited edition last year and sold out and there were lots of “Sad Stampers” but I am thrilled that they have it in the catalog this year!

After making my own envelope with the help of the Punch Board, I lined it with the fun paper from the Trim the Tree Paper Stack….YES – there is a new paper stack and I am thrilled…these gems make life oober easy!
INTERSTING TIP: – I have used 3 different shade of green for this card but the end result is…IT WORKED! There are times that you need to “tweek” colors to make it work for the project you are working on.

WHAT DO I MEAN? Well I stamped the sentiment with Old Olive instead of the Mossy Meadow…WHY??? It would have been too dark on the crumb cake (if I used the Mossy Meadow) – and this looks like the perfect match!
For the envelope liner…the coordinating color (for the new paper stack) showed it to be garden green but because the print was so small I tried it against the card and it looks "just fine”
Well…you like? I was happy and it is hard to believe that we will be working with Holiday Stamps….I think that the selection of sets in the Holiday Catalog are super-duper!
If you are currently not working with a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and would like to receive a catalog, please email me and I will be happy to mail you a catalog and also work with you!
Please feel free to email me if you have any questions about this post and also with the promotion of the Big Shot! It truly is an amazing tool that is a one time investment that makes our job easy!
Enjoy the day and thanks for popping by – until tomorrow!

Are you ready for a FUN technique that not only creates a great effect…it is a great "stepping stone" to develop you confidence in "water-coloring" The technique is "Coloring with re-inkers" – ready to learn?!? You are going to love this and I hope you give it a try!

- The base is a A-2 in a vertical base and then the Island Indigo is 5 1/4" X 4" and the NEW IN COLOR , Lost Lagoon is 5 1/8" X 3 7/8".
- 1st I used the Embossing Buddy to get any static or dust off of the paper…..next - the Mixed Bunch Stamp set and the versa mark ink…I randomly stamped the flowers as shown and then heat embossed it with the white embossing powder.
TIP ALERT: – I probably did not have to do this but after I did the above I then did the sentiment with the help of the stamp-a-ma-jig. (I was afraid that I would smudge the flowers if I did not heat emboss the flowers first!) The sentiment came from the Four You Stamp Set.

Now comes the fun! This is so easy that you are going to be sooooo darn tootin' proud of yourself!
- Using on of the clear mounting blocks…squeeze a couple drops of Island Indigo and another one with Pool Party re-inker! Taking a dry Aqua Painter (do not fill it with water) dip the end of the brush in just a touch of water, then into the ink and made a "puddle" – Color away and have fun! I did probably 3-4 petals before adding more ink!
TIP: It is soooo much easier doing it this way if you are not feeling confident with using the aqua painters! I personally love them and use them often with traditional water-coloring, but I find this technique super fast, fun and easy! The embossed edges make it easy for the ink not to bleed out and over!

- A couple of quick decorating tips and DONE! I wrapped bakers twine around and the I also tied a bow on white buttons and used glue dots to adhere them….fast and cute!
- The liner for the envelope came from the NEW Moonlight Designer Paper Series Stack….such a keeper of a product!!!

This was a super fun card to make and I am excited to make more with this technique! Don't you think that it would be amazing in neutrals? I can see Crumb Cake as your card base and using sahara sand and soft suede! Please let me know your thoughts in how ou liked it!
Tomorrow is "Make it Mine Monday" where I will provide you with a sketch and then you can give it a try…a fn way to help you develop a style and also have fun all at the same time!
Have fun the holiday weekend and I am an email away! Until tomorrow…..

by Susan Itell | May 2, 2014 | SNEAK PEEK!!!, Thinking of you |

I'm still in that "Candy Store" with excitement of the new catalog! I feel like having a count down until I can share EVERYTHING with YOU! Please know, my customers will be receiving their catalog next week (fingers crossed) and you can start looking and letting you mind go wild….remember the Catalog goes live to order on June 2nd!
Here is a sneak peak of a card that was made my a new stamp set! This is a KEEPER of sets and one that will definitely need to find a way to your home…as it is very fun and forgiving!….What do I mean by that? Well…there are many different stamps in the set that You can stamp "hear and there" and you will always look good…as the sentiment says…."You are a fabulous work of art" (Isn't this font fun!!!!)
You know me…the "maker of cards for a purpose"…well this is going to be for my precious god-daughter! The minute I saw this stamp set I know that I could make her a card the was fun, yet youthful…very colorful and this sentiment is her all over!

I know that many of you were sad that the Water Color DSP is going "bye-bye" but this stamp will allow you to creat your own fun! You can see below in the photo how I just stamped it using Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay and Daffidil Delight! (YIKES – sorry for the bad picture!!!!)

- The card size is a regular A-2 but scored at th 5 1/2" side making it a vertical card and then the layer in which the heart is cut out is 5" X 4" ( the piece that I stamped on was a scrap – just make sure that it is wide enough to stamp the image!)

- Before you adhere the cut out piece to the stamped piece, take the paper piercing tool and the Occasions Paper Piercing Guide and have fun! This is something that I forget to do….but when I do – I love it! Just adds the fun splash to make a card to to a quick WOW!!! Corner round the upper edges with the Envelope Punch Board before you adhere it to the Melon Mambo piece…5 1/4" X4 1/4"
- I stamped the sentiment in Black Staz On Ink and naturally I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig as I wanted to to be a perfect placement!!!! LOVE this font!

- I POPPED up the whole piece with Stampin Dimensionals….(these are one thing that I never skimp on…they are such a great value and the effect they give is WOW….always make sure that you support the middle of your card….who likes a "saggy" card!?!?

Doesn't it look so clean and crisp this way!
Doing little touched like rounding corners….adding dimensionals….making clean and sharp cuts (always keep an extra blade for your stampin' trimmer) as there is nothing more frustrating than cutting a bunch of paper to only find out you need to change your blade and you do not have a spare!
- Last….envelope time!!! Woot-woot – my favorite…..I did a double whammy today! The liner was from the Brights Designer Series Paper Stack with the must have envelope liner framelit! The outside….I simply stamped with other stamps that are in this set….to make the mailman smile!

Well….what do you think? Super cute set…right? This is the set that they gave us at the Preview Party and everyone was thrilled to have it! It truly is so versatile and one that will be easy to use…and also one that you will be able to "fill in here and there"
I am sure that you have seen the cover of the new catalog….and if not – here you go….have fun playing "eye spy" – I haven't actually looked real hard to see how many new products are on there…..have fun looking at it! (click on it to make it BIGGER and get your reading glasses out)

From the comments and emails I have had yesterday….it looks like you all are getting my daily posts!!!! WOOT-WOOT – you have no idea how happy I am with having that behind me (fingers and toes crossed)
Please share the Simple Stampin' fun with your family and friends and if you do not have a Stampin Up! Demonstrator, I would LOVE and be honored to work with you! If you do not have a SUD, I will be more than glad to mail you a current catalog…..please email me and I will be in touch with you….
Have a GREAT day and until tomorrow…..
