“Timeless Talk” is….a cute talk!

IMG_2923

This is such a fun…FUN stamp Set! It is called Timeless Talk
and at 1st I was not sure about it but…trust me – It’s a keeper and
now I LOVE it!

I love the bright and crisp color of Melon Mambo and I just
knew that this was going to turn out fun and classic…but the best thing is – it
is very easy to do!

Framelits are simply the best…sometimes when I am using them
I say….”why didn’t I think of that?” If you are not familiar to framelits…it’s
time for them to become your best friend!

You need to use the Big Shot when using them and with
today’s card, I used the new Deco Labels Collection Framelits!

After stamping the “telephone” image on a scrap of paper…I
next pulled out my dear friend, Stamp-a-ma-gig to get the sentiment in the
“perfect” spot! I did it both on the top and the bottom!

IMG_2926

Next using the Deco Labels framelits I cut my stamped image
out and now to the super fun part! Pulling out the fun and perky Melon Mambo
Gingham Paper from the Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper, I used the next
size large to cut a frame!

What makes this card so special is using the Stampin’
Vitamins….Stampin’ Demensionals! I simply cannot tell you how many of these
gems I use!!! Just love them!

The trick is to use a lot of the demensionals…I know it
might seem “over board” but trust me…this is what gives this the clean and
crisp look!

IMG_2925

The envelope had a special treatment X 2 = I line the
envelope with the matching gingham and then I also stamped on the front of the
envelope! Cute…right!?!?

This is such an exciting time for Stampin’ Up! You all are
going to love the new Holiday Catalog! I am anxiously awaiting my pre-order!
Don’t forget about the super designer series paper sale going on right now!!!!

paper is what makes my envelopes shine!

IMG_2928

“smile”…a happy and fun card!

IMG_2951

It's the weekend and I hope that you have a big "SMILE" on your face when you see this zoom-zoom card! It truly does not get any easier than this! This would be a great card to whip up in multiples and simply switch up the colors if you get tires of the beautiful Melon Mambo! One fun card!

This was a card that we made this week for the Breast Cancer Patients and I know they will "smile" when they receive it! The best thing about this card is the size!!! I think it is one item that often gets overlooked in the catalog!

On page 162 in the Catalog the "Note Cards and Envelopes" are something that gets passed by! These cards are smaller (5" X 3 1/2") and have matching envelopes! 20 cards and envelopes are only $5.95! WHAT A BARGAIN! They are a great way to whip up a quick note!

The only other "tip" I want to point out to you is the gingham stamp! That came from the Gingham Wheel and I peeled it off the wheel and made it into a stamp! I find that I use stamps a bunch more this way than on a wheel! Try it – it is fun and I think you too will use it more!

IMG_2949

How to do it…easy – use the Clear Mount Cling Foam to make a wheel into a stamp! Works great every time! The stamp-a-ma-jig was the lifesaver for both the placement of the gingham as well as the adorable lion from the super fun Zoo Babies Stamp Set.

Zoo BabiesThe liner was like the "moon and the stars lined up" – how perfect…..it is from the designer paper Gingham Garden….and remember….right now if you but 3 designer series paper you can get 1 free!!! WOOT-WOOT!!!! Click here and order away!

IMG_2948

I hope this post inspires you to whip up some simple yet great cards!!! Enjoy the day and until tommorrow……

“Cycle Celebrations” X 3!!!

IMG_2944
Mission accomplished!
I had 3 friends celebrating their birthdays with the week and I wanted
to challenge myself to make 3 different cards using the Cycle Celebration Stamp
Set
and also the Birthday Basics Designer Series Paper!

I often forget about stamp a tone on tone and when I do – I
always like the end result! I did “tweak” this a bit as the base color is So
Saffron and then I stamped the candles in Daffodil Delight! (I thought it need
a bit more zip!)

IMG_2945

The best tip I can share with you is to get that
ruler out and let it do it’s thing!
I measured ¼” up from the bottom and then
the half way point of the So Saffron piece.

Next thing was after making a template with the
Stamp-a-ma-jig I stamped my 1st candle smack dap in the middle…then
went to the outer 2 sides and then filled in! Doing it this way always takes
minimal time with a great result!

I did the same with the bicycle, centering the middle…then
using the Stamp-a-ma-jig to do the outers! Works like a charm each and every
time!

IMG_2943

I did feel that the card was “flat” so I stamped my
sentiment and then did my trick whenever I am lazy….simple “free-hand” cut it
out and then mat it – do the same and PRESTO – a cute sentiment, naturally
popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals!

Since I have been ignoring ribbon lately ( and I do not know
why) – I thought the Raspberry Ripple Stitched Ribbon would be perfect…and it
is! Just a nice balance of color and a great finishing touch!

Talk about “finishing touches”…well the Candy Dots in the
bicycle are just too darn cute! I will admit…I bought a BUNCH of the “brads”
that coordinate with the Candy Dots….and I have not used 1!!! They are soooo
easy to pick up and place…why do another step!

You know me…the envelope is coming….now how darn cute is
this liner! Could it be any better…..no way! I simply could not resist and had
to stamp the front of the envelope! It was the perfect finishing touch that me
friend Connie will love when she goes to her mailbox!

IMG_2946

I had to work yesterday and I am sooooo confused on the day
of the week! Thank goodness it is Friday – the weekend is here….and boy do I
have a treat for you on Monday….(fingers crossed)…it is my friends birthday and
I think I will make her smile!

I hope that your holiday was fabulous! When I went to put the horse out last night…I could hear the "popping" of fireworks outside! Here's to the weekend and until tomorrow!

A Wagon of thanks!

IMG_2891
Have you ever been treated to a time that you walk away and say….wow – that was fun! Well this was me yesterday when a friend invited me to lunch and I felt like a queen! As I walked into her beautiful home and saw this incredible setting for the 2 of us to "catch up"…"share some laughs" and just plain catch up while I slipped out of work for lunch!

This card makes me smile as it makes me feel special when I use the Aqua Painters. They truly are one of my favorite and relaxing thing to do with my cards….and while I am not the best at it…I find it rewarding! I am determined to be a "water color wonder" one day!

The Stamp sets that I used was  "For the Birds"…I love that darn cute wagon and I "masked off" the sentiment as I was just looking for the wagon image!Whenever you use the Aqua Painters, I highly suggest that you always use the watercolor paper to keep you finished work nice and flat!

IMG_2892

Also, always use the Black Staz On Ink….this way when you "watercolor" it will not run! You can always go back and add highlights to your work…( this is a technique that I need to work harder on) but with time….you do become better!

I really wanted to focus on the "thank you" part and I really had a blast and want the message to get across!!! The sentiment came from the Lots of Thanks Stamp Set and I found the center of the paper…stamped with the help of the Stamp-a-ma-jig to get it…"just right"!!!

Lots of Thanks

Polka Dots to me are like seeing balloons – they make me smile and make me happy!  As I used the Old Olive in my water coloring….and the color for the thank you's…I thought that this would be perfect….and it is – LOVE IT! This came form the Polka Dot Parade Designer Series Paper!

IMG_2893

I know that this card will make my dear friend smile…she makes me smile! Please continue to tell your friends about my blog and have them sign up for my daily postings to inspire you…to make you smile and to make you realize that YOU can do it to!

To order I am a click away and the best thing is that everything will come to your door!!! A big THANKS to YOU for always popping by and supporting my Stampin' Up! Fun!

Until tomorrow…..

“Sweet Essentials” is super sweet!

IMG_2880

Now this is my kinda card! I love just about everything about it! Crumb Cake is one of my all time favorite colors to work with….WHY? It looks great with just about anything! If you put a neutral like I did today…..GREAT! If you put a bright color with it…..FUN! If you put a subtle color with it……STUNNING!

When you really look at this card…you can see how easy and do-able it is but at the same time the WOW and sheer classiness of it is there! The saying "less is best"….is so true many times!!!

IMG_2883

The Big Shot and the Embossing Folders are what brought this card to life….and just think – how darn' simple! I used the Petals-a-plenty and the Fancy Fan Folders and then did a simple POP with the Postage Stamp Punch! How easy!

Lining then up and matting them on Crumb Cake was a cinch and I wanted to let the sentiment from the Sweet Essentials Stamp Set shine….so I carefully stamped it on the bottom using the Stamp-a-ma-jig .  Works like a charm every time! I was soooo glad that this stamp set carried over this year….it's  a keeper!

IMG_2887
Adding a bit of bling came from the Itty Bitty Punches and using the glue dots kept them in place! We all know "pearls are a girls best friends" so…..naturally they needed to make an appearance!

We know I needed to do something fun to the envelope…so why not see an embossed piece of paper on the outside of the flap!?!? Works fro me and it looks sooooo pretty! Because I knew that I was hand delivering this card – I decided to use the same embellishments on the outside….FUN – right???

IMG_2886
I hope that this post inspires you that it is ok to keep things to a minimal…This card is beautiful and one that anyone would love to receive and cherish!

Please email me or leave me a comment on how you like it! I love the classic and clean lines it brings! I am super excited for today as we are having a PALS call on all of the scoop and feedback of the new holiday catalog….it is very special….just like YOU!

Thanks for popping by and until tomorrow!

The PALS are “Too Kind”

IMG_2864

Being part of Mary Fish's PALS group is fun! I know that you have heard this a million times from me but today's card is just another example of why I love the inspiration I get from the PALS! We have many, many Chat Rooms within our group and one is a "Gallery" of ideas and inspiration!

Today's post was inspired by fellow PAL Susan Bohlen…I commented that I loved what she did and asked if I could "C A S E " away changing up things…I just loved it and I knew it was the perfect time to pull this stamp set off the shelf and I was tickled with my end result!

Here is the super card that the other "Susan" created…I LOVED the way she create the line around the edge! Unfortunately, Susan does not have a blog for me to direct you to…but Hat's off to a great card!

The first thing that I did a bit different was…this card is smaller than a regular A-2 card! The card is 3 1/2" X 5" and the Note Card Envelope is a perfect fit for this gorgeous card! Anther thing I did different was…I vowed to try to be better in embellishing the "insides" of my cards!

IMG_2865

Yesterday, super PAL and friend Dawn Tidd, was Mary's "guest stamper"…Dawn is a wonderful, postive, creative stamper that I personally look up to! I love her style and I love the fact that she always "pays attention" to the insides of her cards! Please check out her blog as it is one that will warm your heart and put a smile on your face!

I left Dawn a comment saying that you are inspiring me to fazz up the insides of my cards…so there is never a better day to start change than on a Monday!!!

After you have all of the images already stamped on your Stamp-A-Ma-Jig template….this card is a BREEZE to make many! I think that this will be a breast cancer card for my group next month!

The stamp sets I used were Field Flowers and Too KindTIP: – Remember I always say I am challenged…well just in case you want to know – stamp the lighter color 1st with the "larger floral image" and then use a darker shade to do the smaller version! (you probably already knew that!!!)

IMG_2868

I was also excited that I used "In-Color" inks…Crisp Cantaloupe, Strawberry Slush and Gumball Green are the key elements! They are super together!

Too Kind

Another way that you could obtain a totally different "feel" for this card…would be to "stamp off" on a scrap paper before stamping on your card stock…this would give you a softer look but I was very pleased with the result – I personally love the boldness and colors!

I look at it as 1-2-3…!!!

  1. Card
  2. Inside of Envelope
  3. Outside and liner of envelope!

Now…lets focus on this special envelope! Not only will the mailman smile…but the recipient will be thrilled! So easy….just take that extra 5 minutes – you'll be glad you did!!!

IMG_2866

I hope that this inspires you and this is a "keeper card" in my mind……shoot me an email or leave me a comment and let me know how you like it!

IMG_2869

You all are the best…..until tomorrow!

p.s. – did you notice something different I did with this card than I "usually" do…..leave me a comment and the 1st person to get it correct will receive the product that is the correct answer!

WOOT-WOOT!!!! At 6:46 a.m. Dorothy was "right on" – I am bow challenged and I was pround of myself!!!! I will send Dorothy a spool of the whisper white taffeta ribbon!!!

A new comment from “Dorothy” was received on the post “The PALS are "Too Kind"” of the blog “Simple Stampin'”.

Comment:
You tied the bow this time, Susan.
