They’re coming back and I know there are going to be some happy crafters! Read on…

What can I say but I am excited.  😀  We all know the feeling inside we get when something comes out that makes us feel like Christmas Morning when we were little, well – this is how I feel about these Stampin’ Blends.

I am super excited that Stampin’ Up! is offering an alcohol-based marker once again. These markers are only available to demonstrators at this point but Stampin’ Up! is going to be releasing them hopefully by the end of the year to all customers.

I think it is fair to be totally be honest and say that Stampin’ Up! is being super cautious with this new product launch to make sure the quality control is to their highest standards. Alcohol based markers are a staple in the crafting industry and I am THRILLED that we are offering them.

This time Stampin’ Up is doing a super smart thing….there are just (2) shades for each color family and if you have 1 that runs out….no worries as you can purchase them individually as needed (once they go live for customers) – I personally think that Is super smart as that was one thing in the past many did not like… having to re-purchase the whole color family.

You can see that this is very exciting for Stampin’ Up! If you have never used an alcohol-based marker before I say HANG ON TO YOUR MARKER as wait until you try …you will be amazed at the ease they are to use.

You will see that currently stamping up is offering these alcohol-based markers in 12 color families… Totally matching our colors that we have! You just have to love how we color coordinate all of our products!

I just couldn’t resist leaving you guys with a fun picture of John and the dogs. Yesterday he was mowing and this is one of their highlights of the day! It makes me totally laugh as they will be on mowers for hours~

it is funny to see them as they make turns at the end of the field. As John enters one end of the field you can see their little backs back up to make the turn and as he makes the turn their bodies go forward.

They have been doing this for years and it is just too funny to see how much joy it brings them. You know you hear me talk about “simple joys ” all the time…This is a simple joy for John and I!

“Timeless Talk” is….a cute talk!

IMG_2923

This is such a fun…FUN stamp Set! It is called Timeless Talk
and at 1st I was not sure about it but…trust me – It’s a keeper and
now I LOVE it!

I love the bright and crisp color of Melon Mambo and I just
knew that this was going to turn out fun and classic…but the best thing is – it
is very easy to do!

Framelits are simply the best…sometimes when I am using them
I say….”why didn’t I think of that?” If you are not familiar to framelits…it’s
time for them to become your best friend!

You need to use the Big Shot when using them and with
today’s card, I used the new Deco Labels Collection Framelits!

After stamping the “telephone” image on a scrap of paper…I
next pulled out my dear friend, Stamp-a-ma-gig to get the sentiment in the
“perfect” spot! I did it both on the top and the bottom!

IMG_2926

Next using the Deco Labels framelits I cut my stamped image
out and now to the super fun part! Pulling out the fun and perky Melon Mambo
Gingham Paper from the Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper, I used the next
size large to cut a frame!

What makes this card so special is using the Stampin’
Vitamins….Stampin’ Demensionals! I simply cannot tell you how many of these
gems I use!!! Just love them!

The trick is to use a lot of the demensionals…I know it
might seem “over board” but trust me…this is what gives this the clean and
crisp look!

IMG_2925

The envelope had a special treatment X 2 = I line the
envelope with the matching gingham and then I also stamped on the front of the
envelope! Cute…right!?!?

This is such an exciting time for Stampin’ Up! You all are
going to love the new Holiday Catalog! I am anxiously awaiting my pre-order!
Don’t forget about the super designer series paper sale going on right now!!!!

Pick 3 of the designer series paper on pages 153 and 154 and
you can get 1 FREE!!!
I love our paper….why??? You always get a double bang for
your buck! Remember our paper is always 2 sided!

Think about this…for every sheet of paper you can line 8
envelopes!
You know that I often (well….always) line my envelopes and this
paper is what makes my envelopes shine!

IMG_2928

Please let me know how you like this card? I think I am
going to use this as one of my cards for upcoming classes! When I teach a

“Fishing Around” reminding me of Nemo!!!

IMG_2767

O.k. – I have a H U G E smile on my face! The minute I saw this stamp,Fishin' Around,  I fell in love with it….it's a personal thing with my daughter and her adventures with horses!

Fishin' Around

Years ago…( probably 10 years ago…) my beautiful daughter and I went to Ohio to watch the Pony Finals…and out of the total blue…we took the bait and bought her first pony….and we named him Nemo!  I can still remember standing there and calling my husband ( as we did not plan on me doing this)….he was in a meeting and I told his office…

"It was kinda important"…

Being that we live in Maryland I had to find a way back home for our new "son"….the only shipper that I could find that was going near our area was leaving at 11 p.m. to go East…then South to Florida…

Hannah was 9 at this time….and I knew that it would be a long night ahead! We were going through a toll booth on the highway and I can remember she woke up and this little voice from the backseat said…let's call him Nemo! It was a hot movie at the time and it stuck!

When I saw the sneak preview of this NEW catalog…..I instantly loved this stamp – then when I saw the "idea" shown on page 58 I thought…..WOW – I am going to try this one! So….I took the "dive" and tried it….and it worked!!!!

I thought it would be a mess….that water would be all over the place….in fact – I stamped 4 of these images…."just in case" and the very 1st one I tried it worked! LOVE IT!!!!

I was soooo darn tootin' excited!

What a fun….FUN card!

Here is the "low down"….please try it! Your smile will be as wide as mine is – it is a super fun card to make and a super fun card to give!

IMG_2763

  • The base is the Standard A-2 size in Marina Mist
  • To the remaining image….I used the Aqua Painters and using the colors of Tangerine Tango, Marina Mist, Soft Sky, Crushed Curry and Baked Brown Sugar, I colored the images in!
  • Using a hot Glue Gun and the Circle Treat Cup  I peeled off the adhesive from the back of the cup….put a bead of Hot Glue around the cup and crossed my fingers and placed my piece of paper that had the hole on-top and PRESTO….it worked!

IMG_2764

  • The Sentiment was perfect…and it came from the Hostess Stamp Set, Express Yourself, I love this stamp set and have already used it a bunch!

IMG_2765

Making this card brought back so many memories of my amazing times with my daughter and her riding…she has grown up so much, still riding but those pony days are in the past and Nemo was the 1st and will always have a special place in my heart!

This was a fun card to make and even though I said….my fingers were crossed that it would work…it was a cinch! It is great feeling to have a card that you made have such a fun and unique look to it! The water in the cup just makes you want to tilt it back and forth!

Please let me know how you liked this! I do appreciate your comments and also feel free to email me!

I get sooooo many comments and requests on how do I do the lined envelopes!!! Tomorrow I will post for you my simple method!

You will be super surprised how darn tootin' easy it is but also you will be "hooked" ( just like I am hooked on this stamp!!!) and you will never send a card out without a lined envelope!

Please shop away at my online store….a simple click and your goodies will arrive at your home and then you will always have me on the other end to help you with your projects! I love what I do and I would love and be honored to be your Stampin' Up! Demonstrator!

Now this is a “Birthday Shoe”!!!

IMG_2348

For a Stamp Set that I was truthfully not crazy about…I have learned to LOVE the end result! Dapper Dad might be going "bye-bye" but is sure makes an impact here!

I have a friend that is an avid golfer and what better way to wish her special wishes than this cute card! I did a card similar several weeks ago but this time I gave it a feminine feel!

I know you like it when I give you dimensions so here you go! Please email me if you have any questions but I will say – this is a simple card that has a big WOW!!! Have fun  making it!

  • Card base a regular A-2 whisper white card stock with the center white piece cut at 4" X 2 1/2".
  • Next came the 3 color strips( each 1 1/2" X 4") in the colors Pistachio Pudding, Melon Mambo and So Saffron, then with the help of my Stampin' Man, Mr. Big Shot, he went to town with the Argyle Folder creating a fabulous texture to compliment the golf shoe!
  • Stampin Dimensionals went all over the back to the shoe to bring it to the fore front so the Argyle Folder can really shine!

  • IMG_2351
  • I thought a bit of "flowers" would be a great touch so out came the Boho Blossoms Punch ( I 1st squished the paper up then flatten it out before punching to give it a softer effect! THen as we know – Pearls are a girls best friend…they went centered stage on the flowers! Too darn cute!
  • The envelope had to make a statement and I thought a piece of fun polka dots from the Subtles Designer Series Paper would be the finishing finale to this special card! I love the look of a flap covered…so special!

IMG_2352

I thank you for "hopping" along yesterday at the fabulous "Retirement Blog Hop"….WOW – what talent and what fun it was!!! We are all sad that many of our favorites are going "bye-bye" but you need to trust me….

GREAT THINGS ARE COMING YOUR WAY!!!

The new catalog is great…so fresh, fun and alive with all sorts of options! I am so darn tootin' excited to share with you ideas and inspirations!

BUT…the ? I have is…why wouldn't you join Stampin' Up for $99.00 and be able to get $155.00 worth of ANY product and you would not have to order one more thing OR if you wanted to stay active you would not have to do it until the end of October!

Do you know that your 1st order after you get the kit you get to chose anything for a 30% discount…I say…"hello Irene" to that….YOU can get all of the NEW stuff at a bigger discount than I can! I would say – "WOOT-WOOT" to that!

Naturally, I would LOVE to have you on this fun journey with me and the PALS! Click here and you can get started now!

I hope that you liked this card…it was fun to make! I have not used the heat tool for a while and it is always so much fun to see your images come to life! I thank YOU for making ME come to life in inspiring you!

Until tomorrow…..

Friends…fun…and a super gift!

IMG_2228

Happy Sunday!!! Close your eyes and sing…" I get by with a little help from my friends…." This is what this post stems around…. my friendship with Mary Fish and Brandi Cox!

I am super excited to be my upline, Mary Fish's guest stamper…wow – what an honor and what a fun post I have for you! Is this just too cute…too practical….and too much fun!

One of the things that I dearly love about Stampin' Up! is the relationships you build…and today's post is an inspiration from a fellow Stampin Up! Demonstrator that is not in Mary's line but someone that I follow! I picked up the phone one day…introduced myself and asked if I could come to one of her Crop Clubs! It was a plain and simple as that!

If you follow my Blog, this is when I had a road trip to North Carolina to see my daughter and had a free evening and went to have "girl fun" with Brandi Cox! It was a blast and I look forward to spending many more fun times with Brandi! One talented lady and we instantly connected!

IMG_2229

Is this super or what…

Think about how many people would love this!

Let me back- up….Tuesday evening was the unveiling of discontinued products as well as SUD were able to preview the NEW catalog ( and YES – you will love….LOVE it!) I was going to be Cinderella waiting for midnight…so I was mass producing these gems…(20 in all) and then it HIT ME – I am on the East Coast and I will never make it…I didn't – finally hit the pillow at 1:30 a.m. and Wednesday was a L O N G day for me at work!

IMG_2230

Last week on a post…I asked for comments on which 3 stamp sets did you think would be discontinued? The winner will get one of these super fun note pad portfolios! And the wimmer is……Jeanie…Please email me and let me know which color you want!!! WOOT-WOOT!

Her comment:
Beautiful card Susan! – Here are my 3 guesses for retiring stamps: Raining Flowers, Lean on Me and Daring Adventure!

This is a perfect gift….for a friend, a hostess, a co-worker – my wonderful husband took his administrative staff to lunch in honor of their special day on Wednesday and there were 8 of these on the table as they sat down for lunch! I always like to make them something handmade and they all loved it! I mixed the colors up and the table looked so pretty!

IMG_2225

Brandi is the "queen" of videos and this one is one to watch! (She is after me to start doing videos….and with her help – I might take the plunge) Please check out her video showcasing this project. I did follow it pretty much – but I did make some changes that I felt worked better for me….and this again is what I love about SU….you can do you projects YOUR way!

This uses the basic's…stampin' trimmer, the Simply Scored, a Stamp Set that was featured in the Spring Catalog, Secret Garden and Bundle as I also used the Big Shot and coordinating and as you can see – I used a variety of fun and festive colors!

IMG_2226

Here is a quick run down of colors that I used: Daffodil Delight, Rose Red, Gunball Green, Not So Navy….an just had a blast stampin' here and there – there is no right or worng way…just have FUN!

TIP ALERT!!! – Do you remember that it is a "pet peeve" of mine to have a stamp that does not give you that clean and crisp image….TRICK – use your sanding block to scruff it up….works  like a charm and always remember to re-ink your pads!

I do think it is important to have the ink refills – why would yu go to all of the work and time you put into a project only to find in the middle of it that your ink pad needs a little help!?!?

IMG_2227

I do agree with Brandi that the Tombow glue is super strong, super economical, and super easy to use!!! I do think we overlook it often, but it really is a great adhesive for a good strong hold! A couple of things that I did differently than what Brandi showcases….

  • I use the sticky strip to put together and adhere the inside pocket….I found it to be easier for me to do and also – cleaner!
  • I chose not to put the leaves on as I found them to be in danger of getting torn…
  • I matted a lager piece of coordinating paper behind the sentiment for a contrast of color and I did tear it as Brandi did…..loved the look!

IMG_2224

This has been a joy to share this with you and I hope that I have inspired you! I also hope that Mary and her husband are having a FABULOUS time in FIGI…..a trip well deserved! Mary is one special person and I am just about at my 1 year anniversary as being a Stampin' Up Demonstrator and I feel like I have grown not only as a paper crafter but also as a person!

Being a PAL and being a part of this great company has brought to me a HUGE extended family! I have never, ever experienced anything like this in the fact of the amount of true friendship, inspiration and support is amazing!

I would love for you to be on this journey with me and join my team and be a Mary Fish PAL as well! Also, I am part of Mary's PALS Partner Program! Please email me and I would love to reach out to you and listen to your needs and goals! With the amazing incentive now – WHY NOT! If you are alreay going to purchase products….why not get the, at a discount delivered right to your door!

I made the commitment at the beginning of the year to blog daily and I am proud to say that I have kept true to my word! ( Thanks for the gentle nudge Mary!) I have learned to love sharing not only my work, but also my personality!

Please sign up for my blog subscription in the upper corner underneath the catalog! This way you can start your day with me every morning with a cup of coffee and let me inspire you!

Have a wonderful day, many thanks again to Mary and until tomorrow…..

Tic-Tac-Toe…Spring Sampler in a row!

IMG_2106

I am super happy with the way that this card turned out! Tic-Tac-Toe is always a fun game to play and my inspiration for this card came to me when I was thinking of my week ahead!

This weekend is the Baltimore Regionals Convention and I have been looking sooooo forward to it…but I needed to make a decision to give up my ticket as I need to make a road trip! I was thinking about what I like to do to stay busy when I am in a car and tic-tac-toe popped into my head! In the end….it's gonna be a great weekend as I will be with my daughter!

The Spring Sampler Stamp Set is a PERFECT choice for this! An "A" list stamp set in my opinion! I always love stamp sets that are small as you can use them in so many ways…..just like I did here – also, it is great to use a stamp-a-ma-jig to get a perfect placement – they always are a fun choice!

How did I do this….well, It was actually really easy! The Card is a square card and then I took a thin sheet of metal that I bought at a craft store and used the sticky tape to adhere it to the Whisper White Paper! TOO EASY! I also used some magnets to make this a "working card"! ( sorry about the bad picture!!!)

IMG_2104

The rest is pretty darn simple…a stamp…a Pop…a stamp…a Pop…a stampin' dimensional….a magnet….DONE!!!! The Punches I used were the 1 1/4" punch and the 1" punch! I just said this to some one today and it is soooooo true = Stampin' Up! Punches are truly the best! They always give you a clean and crisp punch….these are all that I own!

IMG_2111

Because this weekend is going to actually be a "happy day" – I thought it was fitting to use this sentiment! This sentiment also reminds me of my daughter Hannah as she is one happy girl! This stamp is from the Friendly Phrases Set and the look and feel fits right in with the theme!

The sentiment was cut out using the Labels Collection Framelits and then Paper Piercing to give it the WOW factor! Fun, clean, crisp….DONE!

I lightly placed it on the card with just one dimensional so we could take it off and actually play the game together! FUN…..right! The stampin trimmer, again on my "A" list made perfect precise cuts of paper for me! Always making me look great as it is so well made!!!

IMG_2108

I hope you have enjoyed today's post! I need to say a B  I G "thank you" to all that popped by my blog yesterday! WOW!!!! The PALS are one hot group of creative gu-ru's! I feel lucky to be inspired by so many talented stampers! It is sooooo much more than stampin – it's really about friendships and inspiration!

I would love for you to become a PAL, Please email me and let me answer you questions! I am coming up on my 1 year anniversary and I feel so blessed! I am having sooo much fun – but more importantly I am being rewarded!

I will leave you with a saying that I tell my children…( they say they check my blog….we'll see – as they really were tired of hearing me say this….but I love it and I believe in it!!!!)

"If there is no joy in the journey…

there is no journey in the journeys end!"

I would love for you to be on this journey with me! Many, many thanks for stopping by and please do not forget to sign up for my blog ( the subscription is up on the right)  – this way I will be able to give you a daily dose of inspiration!

I love you comments and I appreciate your support! Until tomorrow!
