“Moving Forward”…take #3!!!

IMG_2391

And as the saying goes….the 3rd time is the charm! If you have been following my blog for the past several days….I have been using this stamp set, Moving Forward!

I want to show you how you can take a stamp set….make it into totally different cards…but have the same end result – super cute…clean…classic….cards!

Now….let's step back to yesterday…..I teased you by asking you where the sentiment came from…..1st – WOW….for all of the comments and emails….but the 1st one to get it was Darlene from Georgia….and it was before 6 a.m. EST – and actually she was the very 1st one that responded!

I had lots of Teeny Tiny Wishes…Moving Forwards…..but EASY EVENTS was the winner!!!!

I have told you that I LOVE this set…and it will be one that I will have to keep….one of the things I absolutely love is that you can cut the sentiments away from the image and get a "bigger bang for your buck!"

So….WOOT-WOOT to Darlene….I will be sending you your 6 cards and envelopes your way! Many thanks for you response and playing along!

Now to today's gem….love it….and here you go!

IMG_2393

  • The base is your standard A-2 card in my all time favorite – Crumb Cake….then going in just 1/8" for each color, Night of Navy and Very Vanilla were the 3 center stage colors for this fun card!
  • I also stamped it on a scrap piece of card stock – "just to get the basket!!!!" and snipped it with the BEST scissors in the world, the paper snips!

IMG_2394

  • The Sentiment….so – so cute….well it can be YOURS….as it is a NEW hostess stamp set called, Express Yourself…a TOTAL keeper – just love it!
  • Next came the ribbon…Natural Trim Ribbon was a soft touch but I looked at it…and still thought it needed a bit of something…

IMG_2392

Not only is this Stamp Set a great one as it helps other that are going through a difficult time…The Ronald McDonald House is simple an amazing organization! WOOT-WOOT to all of YOU that have helped Stampin' Up! donated over 1 million dollars to this special place!

I hope that these past 3 days have shown you how you can take a stamp set and make it work from all sorts of themes…I often get asked – where do you get inspired? Simple….I usually sit the – look at the stamp set and then see what colors I have been using lately – switch them up a bit and GO FOR IT!

Please let me know how you like this….email me or leave a comment…I always appreciate them! Again, I deeply thank you for your comments and feedback to the sentiment of yesterdays card….just another way to show you how to maximize your stamps!

Until tomorrow….

BAM! “Betsy’s Blossoms” to the rescue…

IMG_2353

Whew, yesterday was a whirl wind and I needed to whip up some simple cards to write some notes for my job! I knew I needed several…I knew I did not have a lot of time…so when in doubt – KEEP IT SAFE AND SIMPLE!

Can you say E A S Y…

Can you say C U T E…

Can you say "I could do that"

Well, there is no doubt in my mind that you are saying all of the above and this is the type of card that can be "switched out" with different sentiments and stamps to get the same end result…

One clean and simple card!!!

IMG_2354

  • Card base is Whisper White and the Gumball Green is cut just 1/4 smaller than the base!
  • Using the Simply Scored Scoring Tool…I did something differnt and wow – was it so easy and the effect was so crisp and simple! I scored each side at 1/4" increments…doesn't it look great!
  • The center frame was whisper white and also sponged in summer starfruit then out came the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig and the simple "Hello" sentiment is from the Lacy & Lovely Stamp Set…this always makes your placement perfect!
  • The Bird from Betsy's Blossoms was stamped twice in Midnight Muse and the 2nd one I just cut out the wing! Tucking a piece of leaves which was popped out using the Bird Builder Punch

  • IMG_2356

  • Adding my Stampin' Vitamins – Stampin' Dimensionals all over the place made this sweet clean card come to life!

Today is a bitter sweet day for all of the wonderful and dedicated viewers that are enjoying this incredible "Retirement Party" for the PALS Blog Hop!

I did a card very similar to these before…just tweaked it a bit 'cause I loved it before but I love it more now! I hope you like it as well!

As I am just entering into my 2nd year with Stampin' Up!…I have learned something loud and clear…and it is simple = Stampin' Up! makes decisions that are best for all of us and they keep us on the cutting edge of what is "on trend"!

Picking my sadness was between 3 stamp sets…but I chose this one, Easy Events….why? Simple = this is the stamp set that gave me the confidence this past year that I can do things that I never thought I could do!

IMG_2343

I simply love using the Aqua Painter…( I was never good in Art Class) and using this great tool makes me happy! I just loved the simplicity of all of the stamps in this set!

How did I get the "thank you" with the "tree"…simple  = I masked it with a bit of sticky note…inked it up with the Black Staz on…then peeled it off and PRESTO – perfect and clean! When you look at this stamp set…the stamp is different than the sentiment! Thanks to the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig it was a cinch!

There are a couple of things that I am a stickler about and one is…use the watercolor paper when using this technique…why – simple  = why would you take all of your precious time and energy to create a beautiful card to have the edges curl?

Just about everything in this card is going "bye-bye"…the stamp set – Easy Events, the colors of paper…Not So Navy Paper, the Certain Celery Ribbon 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon…this ink…Certainly Celery and Riding Hood Red…but this is OK – cause GREAT things are coming your way…

Do you see how clean…simple…and fresh this card is…to me it is just classic and one that you could make and make ….and send and send – and it will always be in style!

IMG_2342
Stampin' Up! makes our life so easy with their quick and simple tools… the "Window Framelits" were the focal balance of the card and running through my main man…"Mr. Big Shot" it helped the POP factor…with the help of the paper piercing tool and the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack to add the little added touch!

Before I tied the ribbon in the simple "Susan knot" I did use a simple sponge and lightly sponges the edges with Certainly Celery! I think a simple trick like this adds an element of depth!

If you are used to reading my blog and if you are not – I do hope that you subscribe to it for a daily dose of inspiration and creativity…I always do something special to my envelopes…it is a trademark that reminds me of my late Mom….and this paper that I lined is from such a special "bye-bye" paper pack…Print Poetry ( go buy it NOW if you do not have a stash)

Fabulous Phrases are FABULOUS!

IMG_2335
Happy Monday! Let's all have a great week…I feel prepared to inspire you this week! The stamp set, Fabulous Phrases is truly one fabulous stamp set!

I get asked often…how do you get inspired and where do you get your ideas? Well…today's post is a prime example of taking our fabulous catalog and being inspired!

Ever since last year when this catalog came out…I always admired the card on page #133! Today's card is a different twist on this card!

Here you go…paper-crafter's – what a great card that could be mass produced as it would cover many reasons of reaching out to a friend…plus it is easy!

  • Smoky Slate, the super ***NEW***color is my backdrop! I absolutely love grey, pink and white together….one classic trio!
  • After making it into a standard A-2 Card…I used the Edgelits Large Scallop Border running it through the Big Shot to create an interest on the right side of the card! Cute….right!?!?
  • Cutting a strip of Pink Pirouette in a 2" piece…I used a ruler and drew a faint pencil line at 1/2" increments to make sure I had a path to follow…easy!
  • Using the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig was truly the lifesaver and necessary tool for this card with the Stamp Set of Fabulous Phrases… So easy….just going down line by line with the Melon Mambo ink!
  • Adding a smidge of the grey and then the white to frame this piece made it interesting! Not to the fun touch – using the sticky strip, I adhered the 3/8" Striped Organdy Ribbon in the Melon Mambo!
  • IMG_2337
  • The Boho Blossoms Punch came out to add a bit of pizzazz and curling the edges slightly – I adhered them with Glue Dots…so darn easy and then made the classic touch of a pearl the finale.
  • When this card is closed – you see the white that I layered on the inside peeking though….looks great!

IMG_2339

Thanks for "popping" by and please share my blog with your family and friends….you can sign up right under the catalog and be inspired each and every morning with me!

Please shoot me an email or leave me a comment on today's post…it is always great to have a "go-to" card for dear friends…this one "fits the bill"!!!

IMG_2336

Until tomorrow….make it a marvelous Monday!

Happy Mother’s Day…with a beautiful flower!

IMG_2330

Happy Mother's Day to all of you wonderful Mom's out there!

Being a Mom is such an honor…such a "never of a dull moment"…a "ride of a lifetime"…a time of joy…a time of surprises…I could go on and on but at the end of the day – I wouldn't ever change a darn thing as I simply love being a "Mom"!!!

Images

I hope everyone has a wonderful and special day! Here are the detail of this super sweet and simple card! Love the size…a 4" square! Enjoy….

  • Very Vanilla 4" X 8" scored at 4"
  • The Water Color paper is a must in my opinion when using the aqua painter…stamping this classic and simple single flower from the Best of Flowers is the center piece to this simple card!

  • IMG_2332

  • The colors I used to "paint" the flower is a mixture of…perfect plum, wisteria wonder, marina mist, pear pizzazz and wild wasabi and the sentiment came from the must have Stamp set…Teeny Tiny Wishes!
  • The envelope…simple! A 6 1/2" square scored with the diagonal plate as 3" all the way around…and what about this lining…beautiful – right!?!? This is from the Print Poetry Designer Paper that you just have to have as it is going bye-bye….I always find great option, especially for my envelopes with this paper pack!

IMG_2333

I just love "odd size" cards and I think it is super fun creating your own envelopes! I keep watching the calendar flip over….as I am super excited for the new catalog! Have a wonderful day…I sure am looking forward to it!

Until tommorow!

Even being a “Snail” can be super cute!

IMG_2313

Sometimes you create a card and you say…"I like that"!!! Well…this was me! I feel like I was having a "I miss my white withdrawal" This card is a  "me card" – quick , simple, one that is just plain and simple….ME!

I am going to miss this stamp set, Button Buddies, but you all know that I will always just HAVE to keep it around because of my dear precious little pig, Daisy-Mae! She would be totally offended if I didn't keep it around!

IMG_4974

I  looked up a "Webster" definition of what the word snail meant….and #2 is it to a tee! I just had to reconfirm that is was being S L O W !!!

snail

/snāl/

Noun
  1. A mollusk (class Gastropoda) with a single spiral shell into which the whole body can be withdrawn.
  2. (in metaphorical use) Any person or thing that moves exceedingly slowly.

IMG_2310

Here you go….onto the card….I just love it!

  • Whisper White was my neutral cut in half and scored into a regular A-2 Card!
  • Using the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig is the ONLY way to do this card…why in the world would you stress yourself out by trying to make the distances between the snail perfect….well – with this super tool…it is a TIMESAVER…a no brainer! This was stamped in Calypso Coral and the Stamp Set is on the 'bye-bye" list…Button Buddies!
  • The So Sorry Stamp Set is soooo darn versatile – if it s not on your "A list"...click here now and get it! It covers so many cards that we all need to send out! This was stamped in Gumball Green!
  • Before I matted it on a piece of gumball green card stock – I thought it needed a little "bling" – Placing the Gumball Green Satin Stitched Ribbon in the matching color was the perfect choice….and my trademark of a knot was perfect fr this clean and simple card!
  • Something different….I took the diagonal scoring plate and scored 2 lines that frames the ribbon….I know it's hard to see….but click on the picture to make it bigger!

  • IMG_2312

I really enjoyed making this card….but more importantly – I hope you do!
