Here you go….

  • Very Vanilla was the Neutral of pick today! I cut it at 4 1/4" and then scored it at 5 1/2' to make a vertical card!
  • This NEW stamp, "Wildflower Meadow" Clear Stamp set is ONE HUGE STAMP! I inked it up with the NEW In Color, Baked Brown Sugar ( love it!!!!) and instead of stamping it…I put the paper on top of my stamp and rubbed it all over – this is really a huge stamp and I feel you get a better impression!
  • Then…the super cool thing is that this stamp has a matching embossing folder, Wildflower Meadow…so naturally I put that to use with the help of my main man, Mr. Big Shot!
  • Using the Regals Blue Buttons…I threaded the Whisper White Bakers Twine through it and knotted it off…I then felt it was too stark so I used the sponge and sponged a bit of the ink in it to soften it! I also placed a tiny pearl on the bird for his eye!
  • I love the Stamp set, Loving Thoughts, and felt it was perfect for this card! I took a small piece of very vanilla and using the stamp-a-ma-jig I was able to perfectly place it right where I wanted it …then took the sponge again to soften the edges before mounting it on a piece of midnight muse!

  • IMG_2306
  • Using Stampin Dimensioanls for both the base of the card as well as the sentiment create the wow factor…o.k. stampers – by now you know…you have to have a TON of these Stampin' Vitamins…they MAKE your cards!
  • A card would not be  "Susan" card without a liner….and this beautiful Midnight Muse print is from the Print Poetry is the perfect finishing touch! ( I surely hope that you have bought this "bye-bye" paper….it is a must!)

The countdown has begun with the new catalog….my "mother load" of catalogs come today and I will be soooo excited to mail them to my customers! You are going to just have to block of a L O N G period of time to take it all in…..heck – maybe a sick or personal day from work!!!!

Catalog Party and thinking….what the heck is going on…..what are these crazy people thinking….it is just stamps! Mary makes this event so much fun…she has polls for us to vote on the percentage of who thinks a certain set will be a hit or not….you hear all sorts of comments….ideas flowing….it is a HOOT!

Well….see what a difference a year makes…I would not miss this party for the world! Even though I have not personally met these PALS- they have become my cyber friends and I feel like I have known them forever! They are the best support system one could have!

Thoughts and Prayers for a special dog…

IMG_2259

When a beloved animal passes, there is simply no way to convey to one their loss. My husband's partner at work lost his beloved friend…Katie.

As many of you know, I am a huge animal fan and have 5 dogs of my own and my heart goes out with sorrow and pain when one loses their friend!

My dogs are truly my companions and for those who know what I am talking about…a dog is one that you spend so much time with…tell them your joys…tell them your frustrations…and one thing that they always do – is to bring you joy with a instant and simple smile!

IMG_2260

Do you notice something different about this card? Are you wondering what color this is? Well…it s one of the NEW In Colors that I have from the preview products! I LOVE it and think it will be a fantastic addition…also love the name – "baked brown sugar"!!!

  • This card is pretty straight forward – a regular A2 card using the Baked Brown Sugar Card Stock cut and scored in half!
  • The image was stamp using the Tree from the Thoughts and Prayers Stamp Set. I used the markers to color the image – Chocolate Chip & Wild Wasabi. ( notice this is lighter than the sentiment…it needs to be to make the leaves look more natural)
  • The color of card stock that I used was Sahara Sand….a beautiful neutral color that I feel gets overlooked often! Try it – you'll like it! I matted it with Always Artichoke.
  • I did use a sponge and very lightly went over the edges of the Sahara Sand with the Wild Wasabi…just to add interest and depth!
  • Not finished yet…I took the card to the Simply Scored Plate and scored 2 horizontal lines across the top and bottom of the focal part of the card – a great and simple finishing touch!

IMG_2261

Are you saying…where did that envelope come from! Simple – I made it! I felt this card needed a matching envelope and it is sooo easy to make!

  • Using the Baked Brown Sugar Card Stock – I cut a 7 3/4" square!  Scored it at 4 1/8' and 3'1/8" using the diagonal plate – BAM!!!
  • Fold in the score lines…cut the little corners out and always use sticky strip to give it a great hold and you are done – a matching , beautiful envelope!
  • Not finished yet…pull out a coordinating paper to make the finished look – I used the Subtles Designer Series Paper…my go-to for a perfect match every card!

IMG_2262

I am sorry that I have had to make this card due to the circumstances but at the same time I hope it brings comfort to Gary and Nancy. My heart sank when John told me as I know how much they dearly loved their dog!

Both of these stamp sets are so beautiful and always find a way to make a beautiful card! I hope that you have enjoyed today's post and I also hope that you have a wonderful day! Finally, the sun is out today ( but we have needed the rain) and I am looking forward to a productive day ahead!

Please email me if you have any questions or simply leave me a comment below! I truly love and cherish your feedback! I have a great post in store for you that you will be able to have the opportunity to get a great organizational time saver if you email me…stay tuned!

Until tomorrow….happy stampin'!

A Great “Golfer’s Thank-you”

IMG_2243

On Saturday I hosted an event for my job and it involved golfing! I needed a "thank you note" to send to the golfers that came out to support the event!

I immediately thought of the Dapper Dad stamp set! Confession time…this is the first I have used it but will say – not the last… so get ready to see some great ideas using this super fun set!

I felt that the Perfectly Penned Stamp Set was a perfect choice to add to the golf shoe! Now you know what I am going to say…this simply could not be done without the Stamp-a-ma-jig! This silly little tool makes life so much easier but better than easier – it saves you a ton of time!

IMG_2244

I knew that I needed to make many of these and I wanted to share with you how easy it is to do an assembly line process when making cards! Here are some tips that might be useful…

  • I always take a piece of scrap paper to write down all dimensions and tips!
  • I cut the base card (Crumb Cake for this card) and score in half.
  • Pull out the Crumb Cake Envelopes and decide the liner I wanted to use….easy-peasy  – Neutrals Designer Series Paper!
  • Make sure you ink pad has plenty of coverage…if not…use the refill as you continue to organize. ( you need to wait 10-15 minutes to settle in the ink pad)
  • Go to your scraps 1st and see if you can utilize them before using a fresh sheet of paper!
  • Cut the vertical pieces….stack them up in the colors per card!
  • Run the vertical strips through the Big Shot using the Argyle Embossing Folder.
  • Using the Stamp-a-ma-jig – prepare the clear sheet for doing your stamping.
  • Stamp the shoe 1st….then follow up with the sentiment!
  • When I made these…I did use a bit of snail on the back of each to hold it in place so the stamp-a-ma-jig would not wiggle!
  • Drew a pencil line down the center of the card to place the center piece and then it was easy to "eyeball" the others!
  • Adhere…pop it up with my Stampin' Vitamins – Stampin' Demensionals!

IMG_2242

I personally think this is one fun and handsome card! Change the colors up for a more feminine feel….I think I am going to try it with a heat embossing technique! I can see a pink shoe!

Please do not forget to subscribe to my daily blog….I love creating and I love working my creations into my personal lifestyle! Click on the box right under the catalog!!!

On Wednesday is my monthly Breast Cancer card making fun time….we will make over 100 cards for the local "Angel Program"….sending a card and "pick me up" to those that are unfortunately going through some tough times! This is such a "feel good" evening!

IMG_2245

Please leave me a comment or email me and let me know how you liked this card….sometimes it is hard to come up with an idea for a masculine theme…I think the colors set the stage for this card! I do say….I loved focusing and "picking up" the argyle from the show in the embossing folder! A great added touch!

Here's to a fabulous week….I am up for a busy one… but fun one…until tomorrow!!!!

Add a little sunshine…

IMG_2236
At my job I need to write many notes! (Good thing I love Stampin' Up! so much)…just like picking out what to wear to work everyday – I too get in a "funk" with using the same cards! I thought I would switch it up using my 1st initial!

This doesn't get too much easier! I knew that I wanted a bright "pop" – and polka dots always bring a smile to my face! One of my favorite color combinations is blue(midnight muse), yellow(daffodil delight) and a crisp white!

One of my "bye-bye's that is on my "A" list" – Circle Circus Stamp Set was stamped in the Midnight Muse…TIP ALERT – Take your pad to the stamp to ink this one up….if you do it the traditional way – you'll have a good chance in making a blob in the middle!

IMG_2239

Next, you the stamp-a-ma-jig to get your initial from the Lovely Letters Stamp Set…( another bye-bye) to get that perfect image! Pop the stamped image using the 1 3/8" Punch and then layer that on top after putting some stampin' vitamins on it – ( Stampin' Dimensionals) – then the 1 3/4 Scallop Punch with the Daffodil Delight Makes it really pop with the classic white and navy!

"Simple Susan" continued to play up with the yellow and just a simple 1 1/2' strip of the polka dot parade designer paper and matted with a snip of white – really looks sharp against the Midnight Muse…very classic! I still wasn't finished…and wanted to do something I haven't done in months!!!!

IMG_2238

Out came the Simply Scored Scoring Tool and I added 3 scored lines on each side and it really added depth! ( I know – it's hard to see int he picture….but try it – you'll like it!!!!) the last touch was a simple snip of Not Quite Navy Taffeta Ribbon to break up the yellows against the monogram!

See how clean and fast this gem is! This would be a super graduation gift to give…you could make up a batch of these, create your own box = a perfect and useful gift…feel like you needed more for a gift….include stamps and perhaps a gift card to a coffee shop! I sure would love some beautiful stationary and be able to have a great cup of coffee to sit and write notes!

IMG_2240

Notice something different? I chose to line the outside of the envelope instead of my traditional way! This would surely put a smile on ones face when they went to the mailbox to find this cheery envelope! I hope you have enjoyed this and I hope that it shows you different ways to use your stamp sets that you have! I am going to miss both of these from the catalog!

IMG_2237

“Happy Hour” for Tony’s Birthday!

Today's post is full-filling 2 things…a Pals Paper Art Challenge and a super masculine Birthday Card!

IMG_2218

What is the PALS Paper Art Challenge….it is a super fun way to stretch your imagination and play along with other people that share the same passion as you! So…what are you waiting for – go to www.palspaperart.com and join the fun! You do not need to be part of the PALS team to play….YOU can play – so go do it!!!

We all have certain friends that just make you laugh…just make you feel good…just make you wonder what they are going to say next…well – this pretty sums up my friend Tony Workman! Not only is he a friend, he is my daughters trainer(and you too Tom!!!) and has been there for us as she has achieved her goals riding horses!

This masculine, fun and classic Birthday Card for him sums it right up as he is one classic guy! By now you know that I love square cards…why? – easy…cause their different and they make you feel special! There just is something about holding a square card! Now I know a square card requires extra postage; now I ask you this…isn't the person you are sending a card to extra special? Just do it!

The Stamp Set I used for the focal part was from Happy Hour, thought of Tony immediately…We have share many "cheers" together and I just thought he would get a kick out of it! Trying to also work this card into the super sketch that the PPA team came up with – this card came together in about 10 seconds!

I knew that I wanted to use this designer paper…remember where it came from??? It is from the Halloween paper collection, Howlstooth & Scaringbone! The accent colors I chose were Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade and Very Vanilla as my neutral!

After stamping my image and sentiment ( and YES  – of course I used the stamp-a-ma-jig) as I have learned it is my time saver! Works perfectly each and every time! Next out came my main man, Mr Big Shot, and using the Window Frame Framelits, I used it to cut both the stamped image as well as the Island Indigo…( see below picture = I saved paper by using the inside of my mat piece!)

IMG_2214

I thought the Island Indigo piece needed a bit of extra depth so I used the Festive Paper Piercing Mat – then out came the Stampin Dimensionals to start the wow! The cute sentiment was from the Bring on the Cake Stamp Set, short and sweet!

IMG_2217

When I looked at the card…I thought – just one more thing….I think the touch of Black Taffeta Ribbon would be perfect…and with a Susan knot – clean and classic – just like Tony!

Are you thinking….how did she get that envelope? Simple – I made a custom one using the Simple Scoring Diagonal Plate!  I will say – it is simple amazing how much I have learned since I decided to become a SUD….it is just plain fun and the PALS resources are amazing – I can be in the middle of something – find myself stuck….go to the Facebook chat Pals resource – BAM – answer right away!

IMG_2219

“Field Flowers” sweet note…

IMG_2204

I used yesterday morning to organize my stamps as the discontinued list will be coming out this week ( boo – but that means NEW goodies ~YEAH!!!)…and I thought I would use some stamps that I do not use often…and WOW – I was very pleased with today's sweet card!

The stamp set, Field Flowers, is the focal stamp of this card and the sentiment came from the ever poplular and "A" list to me – Teeny Tiny Wishes! When in doubt – go to this stamp set and you;ll be happy! It is just natural to me to use the Stamp-a-ma-jig to make sure everything is right where I want it! It is a time saver and life saver!

IMG_2203

One thing that is differnt is that I am using the Note Cards and Envelopes~ remember I used them earlier in the week and I said it is a "sleeper" – I thought I would try to use them more so you can see how sweet this size is but more imprtantly – what a great value! You get 20 Whisper White and envelopes for just  $5.95! Click away and have fun!

This beautiful floral card colors are; Daffodil Delight, Rich Razzleberry and Gumball Green! Bold and fun….right? To create a bit of interest and wow factor….out came Mr. Big Shot and the Large Scallop Edgelit to the Gumball Green to give the edge an added touch!

IMG_2205

Everything else is pretty straight forward…stamp – layering – then my trademaks "dots" to give it a "feel" ( drives my kids nuts that I do this) – but then….I decided to do something totally fun and different for me! Check out the envelope!

IMG_2206

Using the Large Scallop Edgelit again, I used it to egde the bottom of the envelope after using the Tombow glue to adhere a scraps piece of Gumball Green….thru the Big Shot  ~ cute! I couldn;t stop there so I used another scrap of daffodil delight …added that and then the fianle was usng the Boho Blossom Punch to "pop" some flowers to give a plain envelope some special attention!

This is such an excting week for Stampin' Up! and I am super excited to get a snnek peak and have the opportunity to purchase some new goodies from upcoming new catalog! It feels like Christmas to me!!! With the incredible Incentive Offer, you too could not only get $155.00 worth of YOUR choice of products for just $99.00 – you will not have to place another order until October but we all know that would never happen!

Please feel free to email me to talk about the options for you! Why continue to pay full price for your Stampin' goodies…be smart and get them at a discount – who doesn't like a discount and remember – overwhelmingly the majority of SUD are hobbiest!

Being a SUD does not mean that you can't still have fun with your Stampin' friends…it just means that you can get your goodies earlier than them….get them at a discount….and potentially get some for free!

The resources that you will have available to you exclusively by becoming a PAL will in itself bring you so much inspiration and joy! Mary Fish's group of PALS are the weath of supprt, fun, inspration and an incredible source to learn more about papercrafting!

Until tomorrow……
