by Susan Itell | Sep 11, 2014 | Fall Cards, PPA Challenges, Thank You |

Is it "Fall" where you live? Earlier this week it was super "fall-ish"….crisp mornings…but the heat and humidity is back today! I adore Fall and I find every excuse to take walks in the brisk air…to sleep with the windows open…to enjoy the beauty of the leaves on the trees!
Today is Thursday which means another Pals Paper Art Challenge and I below you will see the colors that we are working with this week! I hope that you will join the fun and I also hope that you pop over to the Pals Paper Art Website to see all of the inspiration!

I was doing the "happy dance" with this color palette! It screams FALL! You can receive this card for free when you sign up for my September Stamp of the Month Club! Please click here to see the post that spells it all out!

I am super excited with the response I have receive for this! Because I am making you a sample card of each of the 3 designs and I am limiting it to an amount that I can realistic produce. I originally said that the cut off is Monday, September 22nd…but I only have 8 spots left so please email me if you want to take advantage of this kit! (I do not think it will make it to the 22nd)
Let's get to today's card! I was super happy with it and when I send it to you…it is blank…so you can send it to a friend…use it to CASE…..or simply use it for a class. "Thanks" is universal and I am thankful for you popping onto my blog!
If you look at the colors in the Color Me Autumn DSP….it uses Mossy Meadow and todays challlenge calls for Always Artichoke….great example…play with your colors….many of our colors blend perfectly! The DSP is matted on the Always Artichoke…and it works!

Today's card os showcasing the Four Feathers Stamp Set. Feather are very popular right now and I will say…I was not a huge fan but then I thought about it…took the plunge and I am happy I did…WHY? – this is a perfect example of having a "filler"…to me it is like when you arrange flowers, they are times that you need "just a little something" to hide a open spot!
This s what I thought about these feathers. In today's card, I let the variety of height just gently cover the open space. I can also see that just using one feather with a cluster of leaves would be stunning. This does have framelits and you can buy it as a bundle (see below) – this way you will save an instant 15%!!!

A simple stamp of thanks from the Another Thank You set was a cinch as you can see right through for perfect placement! (I wish you could see my set, I feel like it has been through the worse storm as it is normal for your photopolymer stamps to get stained…I have used this sooooo much, trust me it is well stained which means it is well loved!!!)
A simple and classis Gold Basic Button with the linen thread and some easy loos was the perfect finishing touch! I use glue dots to adhere – quick and easy!
Well….I "thank you" for popping in today! Please remember to tell your family and friends about my blog and it you are not currently working with a SUD, I would love to help you out! My online store is a click away and you can shop at home with your jamiies!

Also, if you would like to earn some hostess rewards, I will be happy to get you a hostess code and your friends goodies will be shipped right to their home! There are many way that we can work together vis the beauty of the internet!
If you are interested in the September Stamp of the Month Kit, please email me and put in the subject line STAMP OF THE MONTH so I can save you a spot! I am super excited about this as I am excited for you to be able to make your own clean and simple cards following not only my instructions, but you will have an actual sample of the card….
Remember, if you already own the For All Things stamp set, no worries…just let me know of another stamp set that you do not have and I will mail it to you with your kit. Please feel free to email me and I will be happy to answer any questions you might have!
Have a great day and I hope that you enjoye this clean and simple card. Stampin' hugs to you!
Until tomorrow….

Well how about this different card for me! I get emails and comments from people saying that this find it hard to use the DSP in other ways than lining envelopes!
I agree that that is mainly what I do with DSP but there are many other ways to use it…. let’s put our thinking caps on…. naturally they are great for envelopes but they are great with 3 D projects…with our punches…and look at this as the focal part to a card!

Today’s card does not have an envelope as this card is being delivered with a yummy loaf of fresh Zucchini Bread from our garden! I guess you can say I am my Mom’s daughter as I have many traits as she did…She always loved to give handmade gifts and adored to cook as well!
I have lots of "scoop" on the pictures…so please take it all in and then give it a try! I was super happy with the end resut!

You can see that I took a piece of Whisper White, simply stamped the "thank you" in night of navy (love that color) and then took it to the Simply Scored and scored a "smidge" in on either side!

Next I used the Scallop Border Punch…something I truthfully forget about….I do not know why as I love the effect it gives a great effect! This is what I call a simple yet effective finishing touch!

If you follow my blog, you know that I am "bow challenged" but I will say that the seam binding ribbon makes me smile as …I CAN DO IT!!! (YES – I will be having a ribbon share next week!)
I adore this deep color of navy for a ribbon – to me…it really stands out!

After I had the bow the way I wanted, I took a Very Vintage Button and threaded some Bakers Twine to give it a fun twist! The best way I think to adhere it is with a simple glue dot…remember the basics work…they will never let you down!

I know that when my friend receives this yummy bread and card – she will have a huge smile on her face….(let's see if she pops on my blog today)….Have a great day…
I am getting excited to see Hannah tomorrow….the last time before she heads off to India!

Please let the incredible opportunity to take a test drive sink in….click here to see the post and please email me if I can answer any questions….I do not think I have ever met someone that does not like a sale!
This is sooooo much better than a sale….it is being united with a positive group of endless inspiration!

Until tomorrow!

Yesterday I ended my post with today’s card was going to be a super simple yet Fabulous Friday card for you! When I was working on it before I left to go out of town…. Hannah’s comment was…. WOW – aren’t you the artsy one!!!
This not only was super easy…it was super fun and wow – -just think of all of the different colors you could use with this! I was inspired by another SUD, Brenda Keenan, and I was so intrigued that I just had to give it my spin!

Please try this and play with the colors! I would love to see your take on it and if you can email me your card – I would love to see it! Now there is one thing about this card…you need the Work of Art Stamp Set, so if you do not already have that, please click here and order it! It is a great stamp to have as you can do so many things with it.

The overall size of the card is a 4 ½” square and then the Baked Brown Sugar is a 4 ¼” square. The colors used for this card are Old Olive, Soft Suede, Baked Brown Sugar and Crushed Curry.
Let’s get going…you can click here and watch a video that Brenda Keenan did but I have some pictures for you that I think you will find it super easy to re-create! The size of the White Stamped piece is a 4” square!

- Start by stamping the sentiment and the dot (center of the flower) in Soft Suede.
- Using the Crushed Curry…ink up – STAMP OFF ON A SCRAP OF PAPER and then start making your flower petals. Do this “Stamp off” all the way for this card – I like the soft effect!

- After you are finished with the Crushed Curry go to the Baked Brown Sugar – STAMP OFF – this REALLY softens up the total look and feel!

- Lastly…the Old Olive for the leaves but turn your stamp around to stamp the image in the opposite direction! Again, STAMP OFF or it will be too dark!

Is this super fun or what! I feel like Picasso and I actually liked what I did! I think that I am going to do this card for my Stamp Camp later this month and I also think that this would be a super Breast Cancer Card. You could easily adapt it to a regular A-2 card size!
Well….whatcha think? It is very different for my style but I have to say – it felt great to be a bit out of the box! Help me think of other combinations for the flower…any suggestions would be great!

The envelope came to life with reading the handy dandy chart on the envelope punch board! Love that piece of plastic! I was oober happy with the liner today…it is from the Lullaby Designer Series Paper. I think that the color of Baked Brown Sugar is so yummy! It truly goes with everything….

I did it again! I just had to do the front of the envelope as it was so fun to do! I really….really felt "artist" with this whole card – it was down right FUN!

Tomorrow is Simple Saturday and it is as simple as it can get! It also uses this stamp set …I just had to get it inked up again before I put it away.
Remember that you can click on the icons below and that will take you right to my store and your goodies will be delivered right to your home! Doesn’t get any easier than that!
Here’s to a GREAT weekend….I sure am having fun! Until tomorrow!

by Susan Itell | Jul 21, 2014 | Make it MINE Monday, Thank You, Tips and Tricks!!! |

YIKES…when I saw that it was week 12 I was smiling from ear to ear! I am so proud of you and I need to give a SPECIAL SHOUT OUT to Sharon H. She has emailed me EVERY week enjoying these challenges and when I receive her email…my heart is super happy! ( her sister is joining the fun)
Here is the challenge for today and it is a super simple one! I am sure that you all can come up with some beauties. Now that my busy weekend is over, I have Thank You's to send to a variety of people to send notes to that helped me over my busy time!

Now you can see that I made this into a BIG CARD…a 5 X 7 as the gals that are receiving this are fun…love bold colors and love bling! They are sisters that represent a jewelry company and were guest speakers for a ladies luncheon that I was in charge of!

Now before we go any further…are you wondering where that adorable DSP came from? Well it is the Gold Soiree DSP but I changed its color…..how???
My inspiration came from Stampin' School, a weekly inspiration that I subscribe to and I was so excited to see that IT WORKS! I took this DSP and changed it's color….that's right – I changed its color…..so easy!

Here is a tool that I think I have never blogged about….a Brayer. It is the easiest tool to use and it cleans up like a dream! Because this DSP is a bit heavier and also has a gold touch to it…the "ink" that you apply soaks into the paper and then the sky is the limit!

After you do the coloring…just take a simple paper towel and "rub off" the excess and presto – you have a new and unique DSP!

Here is the next star to this card…heat embossing (Wow – I have been doing this a bunch lately and lovin' it) When you heat emboss there are 3 things that you need…
- Embossing Buddy – this takes the static off your paper to allow a clean and crisp image
- Embossing Powder – this is a NEW on – Calypso Coral
- Heat Tool – I love ours…I had one from a craft store and donated it and bought ours – a world of difference!

Because my friend loves "bling", I am using something else that I rarely use – Rhinestones! I know that it will make her smile!

Can you see how crisp the embossed image it…this is all because of the Stampin' buddy…this is so bold and crisp!

I stitched with the Calypso Coral pen to break up the space and add a bit of interest!

Because the card size if a 5 x 7 – naturally I needed to use a piece of 12 X 12 paper. I highly recommend that you keep in your supply the basic colors of these sizes as they come in handy! Using the envelope punch board made it a totally cinch for both the envelope and the liner!
Well…how did you like this…I think it turned out super fun and I also know that Annette and Rhonda will enjoy these cards! Please give this challenge a whirl….you can do it – I know you can!
Now to FUN pictures for you. John came home and had a GREAT visit with "peep" James and when he came home – the animals were happy to see him….( Daisy and I were too).
Enjoy these below pictures of all 5 of the dogs taking a "ride" in the truck with their Dad! A simple joy that they love!

As always, I thank you for popping onto my blog and I appreciate and value your time! Please share my blog with your family and friends and email me is I can be of help!
I am super excited about this weeks of posts….I have a blog candy opportunity for you…and lots of great ideas! I think taking the day off yesterday re-charged my battery!
Until tomorrow!

It happened…again – POWER went out last night! This is getting just too darn funny as this has never (guess you should never say never) but out the door John and I went and to my Dad’s. Good thing that Daisy Mae had a couple days of “piggy rest”…back to duty she goes!
Let’s get to the card for today…well by now you know that I make my cards for a purpose and this card was a “Thank You” to a sweet lady that belongs to the Country Club I work at as she made John and I some soup and the best loaf of Blueberry Bread when we were out of power last week!

This is very straight forward and over the weekend I had a HUGE date with my label maker as I like to put the item #’s on my punches as it makes it easier for me when I am creating a blog post. I labeled the Scalloped Edge Border Punch and thought…”I have not used this is a while” …so out it comes for you today!
Please click here to see the Tuesday Weekly deals…and guess what – this punch is on it! (now that's what I call luck as I had no idea when I made this card…woot-woot!)
- The card base is a regular A-2 Card in Whisper White and the stamp is from the hostess collection and the clear mount is just $9.00! (please email me and ask me how you can earn this for free!)
It is a great basic stamp and I can see many fun and simple cards made with it! I love it's name…"Let Your Hair Down" I think many of these images would be super het embossed!

- The All Abloom DSP is the POP of the card! As you can see in the below photo…it is a must have! My fingers and toes are crossed that Stampin’ Up! is going to have more of these Paper Stacks with the new Holiday Catalog! The width of this is 2”

- Pulling out some Strawberry Slush Scraps…I punched this adorable and simple border! I do not know what I forget about this gem…but every time I use it – I love it! The added “white dots” from the white gel pen gave it a bit of interest!

- I wanted to added a bit of extra femininity so I thought a simple flower from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack was the perfect choice…(this is another MUST HAVE) this little flower has been punched out soooo many times since the new catalog came out! A simple Brights Candy Dot was the finale!
- Because the print of the paper is so busy, I thought just a fun and classic liner was in store…so easy-peasy…the In Color DSP to the rescue!

That’s it for today! I am sooooo hoping that the power comes back on but we are to have another storm late today! (It’s a good thing that my Dad lives close to my work)…and John will do the “morning” animal duty!
I have had many of you email me if I was going to Convention…my lip is hanging down like a toddler, but I am not. I am sad as I just adore being with the PALS and taking everything in that Stampin’ Up! does. This is a big weekend for me at work and I cannot get off work…(trust me – it’s killin’ me) but I know that the PALS will keep us posted as to what is going on!

Thanks for popping by today and have a super-duper day! I am smiling and being positive that we will be back on with power!
p.s. – I had to share with you this cartoon that was sent my way by Julie H….it is so cute! Daisy had to get a bath yesterday…she found a nice BIG spot of MUD after I dumped the horses water!

Until tomorrow….you all are THE BEST!

I received this incredible card and treat bag from my dear friend Jeanie! You have heard me blog about her before and I have shared with you that she is SUPER talented….and I just had to share with you this today! Isn't it just beautiful!
Whenever we get together and scrap…it becomes an endless back and forth of ideas, lots of laughter and I always leave with a smile on my face! I simply love everything about these goodies and I knew that you would want to see them!

Why do I love this so much? Well….first because it came from Jeanie and it is handmade with love but the basis of the card is right up my alley! Clean…SImple…lots of texture…and the gold embossing is WOW!!! (It is hard to see and appreciate in the photo but trust me – it is the icing on the cake!

This embossing is so easy and elegant and you always get the same big smile on your face when you watch that magic happen when the heat gun turns it into liquid gold!

Jeanie adores embossing folders – she always says it the best bang for your buck! This is the Decorative Dot Embossing Folder and it looks so rich on this Basic Gray Paper! My favorite part is the Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack…just look below at this gorgeous paper!

Now…let me show you this adorable little goodie bag! Isn't it just adorable – she had some of my favorite Dark Chocolate Caramels inside…YUM! I know that Jeanie gets a bunch of inspiration from Pootles Papercraft – and I encourage you to go to Sam Donald's You Tube Channel and see her inspirations! I adore and use her ideas often…another talented lady!

You can see the items that Jeanie used below and I hope that this brought a huge smile to your face…just like it did mine! I just "had to" share this with you as I couldn't keep it to myself…this is one of those "keeper" formulas that I talk about!
You could easily change up the stamps, paper etc….and BAM – a great card!
Get ready for a GREAT day tomorrow…it is the PALS Blog Hop…always a great day of inspiration from many talented demonstrators! I think there are 28 hopping so get ready to grab some great ideas!
Please feel free to leave Jeanie a comment, I know that she will love to hear what you think. She is on vacation and I know that this will make her day that I have share this with you!
Until tomorrow!
