Friday fun….FREE SHIPPING is ending today!

IMG_7113

This week has B L O W N by….and wow what a busy week it has been! I was to leave for the horse show yesterday but one of my little "jacks" is sick and I needed to take him to the Vets…as if now – I think he is going to be just fine but please keep him in your thoughts! (you know how my fur babies are so special to me)

IMG_1283

This card can be yours with any purchase from me this month! I finally finished my March Thank-you cards and they are out for you super sweet customers and today's card is April's Thank You card and I think that it is super sweet!

With today being the last day for the FREE SHIPPING….why not take advantage of this as I am sure that this card will but a S M I L E  on your face! This is a super fun card and I am happy to send it your way as a "thank you"!

IMG_7109

I will also send you the dimensions and specifics when I send it your way but I hope you take notice that behind the fun flower I used the hexagon embossing folder to mimic the DSP from the envelope fun!

The So You Stamp set is where this fabulous "smile" stamp is from and this is one great set that I think get skipped by in the Occasions catalog – I just adore these script fonts!

I love the freshness of this card and the fun and crisp colors, remember the In Colors that so many of us love are being discontinued with the new catalog. Today's card the base is one of these colors…Pistachio Pudding. For those of you that are newer to Stampin' Up! let me explain.

IMG_7118

Every year, Stampin' Up! comes out with a palette of 5 colors and they are in the Stampin' Up line for 2 years.  The 2 years is up for Strawberry Slush, Baked Brown Sugar, Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe and Coastal Cabana. I added all of the colors below to make "clicking and shopping" easier!

These colors will sell out fast…happens each and every time. If you have a love for one of these colors not only would I take advantage of it now with the free shipping, I would really look at what basics you need to take advantage on this last day of the free shipping.

IMG_7119

This card screams FUN and CLEAN to me and can't you just imagine it in a variety of colors? In hindsight, this layout would have been perfect for the PPA Challenge Yesterday using all shades of purple! (Oh well. I was super happy with the card I did)

Pulling it all together, the whole inspiration for this card came to me with the Confetti Celebration Designer Series Paper that I used today, it is and the colors are just fabulous.

IMG_7121

So there you go…YOU do make me SMILE and I thank you for your support and popping by my blog! Below you will see the scrolling list of products used for this card but remember, I would love to send you this card so you can see and enjoy the beauty for yourself!

This IS the last day of the FREE SHIPPING so have fun! We all love a deal and when we know that we do not have to pay for shipping….watch out Mr. UPS Man….your truck is going to be filled with Stampin' Up! boxes!

Until tomorrow!

p.s. – This flower stamp set and punch are sold as a bundle now in the occasions catalog (you'll see it below in the scrolling products) this means that you instantly save by purchasing them together (15%) but please know that when the new catalog comes out, they will probably not be in a bundle. We all love our matching punches and I have found this flower stamp set to be very versatile.

Step it up Sunday!

IMG_6769

Here you go my friends – today's post is a simple "stepped up" version of yesterdays simple card!

Please click here to see yesterdays card and you will be able to see in the below picture the changes I made…they are very quick and simple and please remember, they are not necessary to do but I am just trying to share with you ways that you can make some different looks happen without a lot of extra time!

For some reason I was being "challenged" to get the pictures side by side today for you (sorry!) but I am going to put both them below and share with you the difference – very subtle.

BELOW IS YESTERDAYS CARD:

IMG_6782

AND HERE IS TODAYS CARD:

IMG_6772

I told you that they were subtle but I like todays card a bit better – these are the (3) things I did differently.

  1. I added and additional layer of white, just 1/4" smaller = 4 3/4" X 3 1/4" to the base of the card. This is something that I do (most of the time) as I think that is an instant, quick way to bring up the wow factor.
  2. I used washi tape (something that I rarely do) and I really do not know why as it does add a great effect. What I did was placed the washi tape over a piece of Whisper White as I wanted the "white" to pop out through the tape as if I would have placed it over top of the Coastal Cabana – I would have never had the same POP effect.
  3. To the envelope, I added a strip of the washi tape across the top and then added the DSP below and then simply snipped it off! SIMPLE and QUICK!

IMG_6776

Well…which one do you like? The extra steps I did today took literally minutes to add. I think that if you are like me…you might have some washi tape in your craft area and you look at it and say, "Why did I buy that as I do not know what to do with it?" – sound familiar!

IMG_6778

I did keep the white gel pen as I totally think that this makes a difference, (remember that you might need to be patient as this does not dry instantly like our markers) but it is a keeper of all keepers!

IMG_6777

The linen thread – just love the soft effect it gives – a simple glue dot folded in half was all that was needed to keep it in place!

Below you will see the stamp set that this card was inspired by. I wanted to share with you why I think that this is a great example of a wise investment. We all know that Stampin' Up! always has amazing stamps to offer us and every year some will be discontinued  but have no fear there will always be great replacements.

People ask me – do I get rid of my retired stamp sets? Well…Since I have been down the past 2 months, I have separated retired stamp sets that I am going to sell BUT there are many stamp sets that even if they are retired, I would not sell them because they "speak to me and they are classics in my eyes" – I simply would not blog about it as it would not be fair to you!

134012G

This stamp set is a current one and I hope that it gets carried over when the new catalog comes out but IF it is retired (I sure hope not) I WILL KEEP IT as it is a set that whips up in a jif and I love the fact that there are coordinating punches to make it a FAST card.

This is a very affordable set and a set that you can use all year long. Hopefully these tips have made sense to you.

One last peak of todays card and then to the BLOG CANDY!!!

IMG_6774

Today is your last chance to win the Blog Candy below…I have added some more goodies for you! The cut off to answer the posts will be 10 p.m. Eastern time (as I need to be in bed as tomorrow is my 1st day of therapy!!!)

Let's get some comments on this…

Are you a "Punch" person or a "Framelit" person?

I know that this seems silly but this is something that Jeanie and I often talk about – she says that she would take a punch any day over a framelit – my answer – I LOVE THEM BOTH as I find that they both make my job easier.

IMG_6795

Another way that I would answer this is…simple – take a test drive with Stampin' Up! – we all know that we LOVE the products so why not get them at a discount? It is a simple as that!

Please feel free to email me, I will be coming home late today but I will get back to you.

Sale-a-bration is coming to an end on the 31st so how about being able to get $125.00 worth of products for just $99.99 and you can pick (2) SAB Items….works for me!

This JUST MAKES sense as you are saving (which we love = $26.00), it ships for FREE (which we love) and you get 2 free items (which we love)

Click here and design your own kit – it can be ANYTHING your little heart wants!

Have a fabulous day and until tomorrow – another personal challenge for you!

It’s Johns fault!

IMG_6289

Yesterday was a busy day but a great day! I am doing fantastic and I can start to put weight on it (a bit) and I have graduated to a new bootie (a couple of hours a day) but my BIG boot is still around for another 3 weeks! Many thanks to everyone – you all have been the best in reaching out and wishing me well….I can see the end – now that deserves a HUGE woot-woot!

Now let's get to the subject line….It's Johns fault – well are you wondering what that is about? Well it is because this bow…fru-fru – what ever you call it is his fault because he took my craft scissors again and I could not get a crisp cut but I think it is stinkin' cute!….(this time the scissors went to the barn to open a bag of horse feed)

IMG_6285

This is one of the new offerings of Sale-a-bration items that will be available March 1st – March 31st! Please click here to see the flyer – lots of new fun and fresh ideas. Actually I have used a ton of Sale-A-Bration products on this card…this has just been a fabulous year of fun and fresh offerings – thank you Stampin' up!

The card is a 5" square card and then using the neutral of Sahara Sand and the Large Polka Dot embossing folder, the stage was set for a clean and crisp card!

IMG_6295

Isn't this stamp set super fun! It is a coloring dream machine….no thinking here – just have fun! It is a 4 piece set and I think it is a super practical and fun set. Remember, with every $50.00 order you can pick this or any of the Sale-a-bration items for free! It is called For Being You.

139120G

I do love the look of taking 2 different colors and "piecing" them together to create interest to a card! There is nothing like the simple help of an embossing folder to help make that happen!

Now to the fun mess…I cannot tell you how I did it but I was just trying to tie a simple bow with the NEW In Color Accessory Pack with the Hello Honey and when I went to cut the bakers twine….not a sharp cut -out came the fun pom-pom trim… I was determined to make Lemonade out of Lemons…and I think it turned out cute! "Fraying" the bakers twine by running the piercing tool through it is a fun effect.

IMG_6293

Exciting stuff! These 4 new Sale-a-bration items will surely get your head scratching as to how to earn them!

  • How about a cyber event? I would love to get you a hostess code so you can earn them.
  • How about having me do a stamp-a-stack or a class?
  • How about a 3 month subscription for Paper Pumpkin?

Email me if you are just "itchin" to get more goodies and together we can come up with a plan.

IMG_6292

Can you believe that it is Friday already? Wow – this week has ZOOMED by. I have had many people ask about my "knee scooter" – well I am still using good old Black Beauty and here is a picture of one similar. Since I have to have it around from a couple more weeks, I am going to jazz her up over the weekend!

Th

I can get this thing ZOOMING…..it truly has been a lifesaver…just like YOU! I am the luckiest person in the whole wide world to have cyber friends like YOU!!!!

A quick and easy challenge!

IMG_6233

Good Monday! How about playing a challenge today with the most important person in the world…YOU! If you follow my blog you know that on Monday's I like to so something fun.

Today's card is as simple as it gets and here are the rules to play.

IMG_6240

  • Use a punched image on a card at least 2x's or more (if your punch matches a stamped image, that is great….like I could have used the Six Sided Sampler Set but instead I just chose to make it super simple and just use the Flashback DSP.)
  • You need to have a single sentiment on the front of the card.
  • The most important part…..have fun!

If you wish, please email me your take on this fun challenge and I will randomly pick one person to win this simple card and I will slide in some stampin' dimensionals for you. ( I could never pick a "winner" as you all are winners in my eyes!)

Why do I do these fun challenges…I think that they are a great way for you to continue to find a style that makes you feel comfortable with "your style" of card making.

IMG_6244

This was a very simple card (as you can see) but it still sends the message in a very crisp and classic way! When I make a card, I try to look at it an imagine how I would feel if I received it. I will say that I love this DSP, Flashback because it coordinates with Very Vanilla. Most of our DSP works with Whisper White.

133699G

We all know that our punches are just fabulous, please do not forget that today is the last day for you take advantage of the weekly deals and there are many punches this week! Today I used the hexagon and it was a snap!

Please do not be afraid NOT to take a bunch of time in making a card…if it works for you and less is best – I am sure that it will be a beauty! I literally whipped this card up in minutes!

  IMG_6241

The longest part of making this card was using the Stamp-a-ma-jig to get the sentiment straight and to stamp the envelope 3 x's!

Please give it a try – it s between you and I and I will email the winner on Tuesday morning (just in case you read this later tonight)

The February Stamp of the Month Club went out this morning with John to work and the kits looked super -duper! Please make sure that you keep popping back to see March's offerings – it will be later this week.

Enjoy the day – let's have another great week and until tomorrow!

“Step it up Sunday”…

IMG_6028

Yesterday I blogged about the super cute and easy card that I think is just adorable! My inspiration came from the Stampin' Success Magazine that Demonstrators receive. Please click here to see that post and today we are going to go through the "Stepped Up" version!

The reason I am doing this is to share with you how you can take some other products that we have and simply "step it up" I must say, I like both of them. Please remember, do what works for you. It takes a bunch of "trials and errors" to develop a style that works for YOU.

I am sure that you do the exact same thing that I do…that is have fun looking at Pinterest, watching You Tube Videos etc…and there are cards and projects that make you get sooooo darn excited, only for you to go to the effort to attempt to make them to find out that "they just weren't worth it" as it wasn't your style!

When I first started card making I tried all different styles and the happiest I am is with Clean and Simple….that makes me roll and I love to help you reach your goals!

IMG_6054

Let's get going – I will share with you the changes I did…they are very simple!

  • I looked at the Something Borrowed DSP that I used yesterday and the pattern reminded me of the Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder so out it came! The piece is in Sahara Sand and it is 4 3/4" X 3 1/4". I used the corner Rounder before I ran it through the Big Shot.
  • The white piece is 3 1/4" X 2 3/4" and then matted with Pistachio Pudding just a "smidge larger" – 3 3/8" X 2 7/8". I also corer rounded them.

IMG_6039

  • The stamping was just like yesterday and before I POPPED this up I added the simple yet effective piece of Thick Bakers Twine…just a quick and easy touch!
  • Now for the part that always makes smile – the envelopes….you know I sure do love my envelopes! Today I took a scrap Sahara Sand and embossed it, just trying to get the focal row of the image. I then took a 1/2" strip of the DSP and placed it on above and below….and after adhering it – a quick snip! LOVE IT! (well, I probably should have made the DSO a bit narrower to make it balanced….but there is always a next time!)

IMG_6033

Well…thoughts!?!? I truly like both of my versions…it's all about time! Remember, break your projects down and do it in steps so you are not overwhelmed! This would be a great card to make BUNCHES of in all different colors and different DSP's (if you choice todays post)

Please feel free to leave me a comment and let me know how you like today's post! I am an email away if you need help or guidance!

IMG_6036
