Woot-woot!!! Today is a special day for John and I as today is our 25th Anniversary. We snuck away to one of our favorite spots that is in the middle of no where…it is beautiful, peaceful, great food and oh so special to us!
If you are ever in the Maryland area I highly suggest that you come to this place of heaven. It is called the Savage River Lodge and our friends had a dream to build this special place and it is great to see this special place from the beginning!
It is hard to believe that from a total blind date that 25 years later we are still celebrating this special day! John is my rock, my best friend and the best Dad – I am totally blessed!
Today’s card is a fun one for him as I feel like our life is always an adventure and I love being on this adventure with him! We have been able to do so many things together and each and everyday is a great day.

This stamp set is appropriately called, Life’s Adventure and it is a Hostess Stamp set that is a fun one! I love the “sketched” look of the images. Please remember, you can have a “cyber” event and use your hostess earnings just like if you were having an event at your home. Please feel free to email me and we can carve out a plan for you.

I am again doing a square card (41/2”) …the color scheme came from the Confetti Celebration Designer Series Paper and once I saw the arrows I had a “light bulb” thought to use the Draw The Line Stamp to let the bike “guide the way”

This is a stamp set that cannot be overlooked as not only does it create a great border effect, it is super easy to stamp as it is a Photopolymer Stamp…another woot-woot…..makes life easy even though I do adore the Stamp-a-ma-jig!
The other colors and sizes are White (stamped piece is 4 1/8”) and the Basic Grey is 4 ¼”
I did use my friend, Mr. Stamp-a-ma-jig to get the bike “just right” where I wanted it and then used the piercing tool to poke a hole to ultimately use a Brad Base and then a Candy Dot from the Brights collection.
Before I placed the Brads on the bike, I stamped the hearts from the top! These came from another Hostess Stamp Set called Hello Love and I masked the top portion just to have the hearts dangling down. (The 3 punched out hearts are from the itty bitty accents) representing my 3 wonderful “peeps”
Because the brads are a bit bulky I “doubled up” on the stampin’ dimensionals to really make this lift up off the card. Did you notice that I did a bit of paper piecing for the “flag” – In carrying out the Strawberry Slush I stamped the flag and then did a quick “fussy cut”

The envelope was made from a piece of 7 ½” paper and then the Envelope Punch Board made it come together in just a couple of punches and scores…..if you do not have this, please ask Santa for it!
That’s it my friends! I know that this is not your typical anniversary card but it is one that does look like John and I! We are heading home today….a quick 24hour get away is just what the doctor ordered!
Remember it is Tuesday so click here to see the weekly deals that Stampin’ Up! is so kind to give us….and remember a simple click will allow you to shop from home….with the crazy season coming – it is wonderful not to deal with traffic and hype.
These next several weeks are so to ZOOM by so please look to see if you have all of your basics and regular go-to’s! There is nothing more frustrating than sitting down and not having items!
It’s time for another Card Swap…..please pop back tomorrow and find out the scoop!

by Susan Itell | Nov 17, 2014 | Christmas, Make it MINE Monday |

Good Monday Morning to all! I adored all of the comments left yesterday about the “hashtags” and the one that made me burst out laugh was from Bridget…I totally agree with her – why is it called a “pound sign”???
And then from Chris…(she is always funny….but this was another great laugh)
This is another reason I truly love blogging…to connect and get to know you, blogging truly is a form of expression and I thank you for bringing joy and smiles to me!

Let’s get to it as Make it Mine Monday is here once again! This is a personal weekly challenge for you to help look at a sketch and have fun doing your own interpretation of it. Please feel free to email me your take…(I have 2 die-hards that have NEVER EVER missed a week)

This stamp set, Visions of Santa and the Designer Series Paper, Santa & Company is a very, very whimsical take on Christmas and I can honestly say that I was on the fence with it and this week I am making (2) cards with it and I really like it!
I admit that it takes a special type of person to find the humor of this set but trust me…I have some fun and colorful friends that will get a kick out of it! I will say that I think the colors are wonderful together….let’s get going!
- The overall card size is a 4 ½” card and it was fun to be able to pull out the envelope punch board to make the perfect fit envelope!
- The Real Red is a 4” square and please make sure that you use some punches to maximize the inside of this square as it will be covered up with the fun DSP which is a 4” square.
- Before I POPPED this whole square up the stampin’ dimensionals I took a piece of real red scraps that was ¾” and then took a piece of white that is ½” and then stamped the fun sentiment and the lights…

- You can see in the below photo that I did not measure exactly what I needed, rather I left it hang over the edge. You can see that I am using the Silicone Craft Sheet, perfect as I had “green glue” along the edge but using this sheet makes it a cinch to “place it” and then after it dries, flip it over and cut the excess off! (A MUST HAVE tool)

- The envelope was fun to make and all it took was a 7 ½” square piece of paper and the liner for the back flap was the paper on the flip side…this is also a fun print!
That’s it! I know without a shadow of doubt that there are going to be some fun…fun cards made with this sketch! I invite you to go to the website that I found this sketch…they have an archive of great sketches and practicing a sketch is super fun and a great way to help you develop a style that is a reflection of your personality!

Hope to see you tomorrow as it is a special day….can’t wait to share it with you! I am still excited with the amount of you that took advantage of ordering those adorable boxes and clearance ribbon for the advent fun!
You still have time to order them and they will be mailed to you….trust me, the most time consuming thing is getting the “goodies” for the boxes…..while they are on order you can get together your goodies….I thought of another great one and they fit perfectly…the super inexpensive one size knit gloves (I use them all the time) and also tea bags!!!!
Have a great day – see you tomorrow!

by Susan Itell | Nov 16, 2014 | Thank You |

Happy Sunday to all! I thought that this "subject line" might get your interest as I still do not "get it" what "# " is but I think that one would say… – it is "on trend" with obviously a different generation than I am in!
Even though I do not "get it", I do like this stamp set for especially the (3) large stamps as they work for me! Why….well they are clean, bold and just plain fun and the 2" punch works perfectly with them each and every time!

Anyway…I needed a thank you card for a friend and I thought that this would be fresh and fun card for her! This is crisp and fun…and the Large Dot Embossing Folder makes the card stand out and say WOW!

Where did my color inspiration come from? The Park Lane Designer Series Paper. I often go to my swatches of SDP to be inspired for the card color choice and when I saw the circles in the fun DSP…my card came together in my head!

This is a very basic layout and one of those "keeper" card I often talk about….think about it as a formula and make it over and over again! The stampin' dimensionals give it a big lift that always makes a card stunning – especially when you are using a white on white….just love the look!

I know that I have been using this burlap ribbon a ton lately but I just love the little extra touch it gives! Simply pull off some of the threads and have fun! Using glue dots makes it easy to attach!

Pulling out the good old Stamp-a-ma-jig made stamping the lower image on the front of the envelope a snap! Calypso Coral is a color that I do not use often but it is very classic and fun!

Make your way to your craft area and make up a card like this! THis is a great basic layout and I am sure that you have many stamps that this would work with. I think that many times we think if everything being in the center, but I like having the focal point off a bit.
I think having the ribbon go up like it is ….allows your eye to be balanced and makes the card unique and one that you would remember! (hope that makes sense)

Enjoy this cold day….in the East it has been very, very cold but at least we have not had SNOW….I think that snow is beautiful to look at but I am not a fan. Snow Days for me are in my craft area lovin' the time off!
Over this weekend I already felt the "commercial buzz" of the season (which makes me kind of sad) as we have not even had the wonderful celebration of Thanksgiving…enjoy the journey of each day and embrace all that we have today….tomorrow will be here soon enough!
You all are the best! Until tommorrow….Make it Mine!
